This gastropub came well recommended and we weren't let down. It was extremely busy but the owner took our order while we were waiting to be seated, great idea. The food was superb and very reasonably priced considering the enormous portions. Waiting staff were very friendly and helpful although they were under pressure. We also stayed in the B&B here and it was great. All in all this place is a great example of how a business should be run. We will definately return.

The pub was very busy with diners the night we visited. We had chowder(€5.95) tossed mixed salad leaves (€6.45) Irish lamb stew (€13.95) Beef and Guinness Stew(€13.95). The chowder was lovely and good value The mixed salad was fresh and tasty and nicely dressed but very small just a handful of mixed salad leaves 3 pieces of sun dried tomato 3 fresh tomato quarters and 3 rock hard croutons.... totally over priced The Lamb Stew was tasteless it badly needed some thyme and the potatoes had been cooked separately then added to the stew. The beef in the Beef and Guinness stew was tender but tasted of nothing the best part of the dish was the carrots again the potatoes had been cooked separately and added to the dish. We didn't finish either stew.... So if you do eat here stick to the chowder Service by the owner was fast and friendly

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today at O'Donnabhain's in Kenmare. Friendly service, tasty food, generous portions and we couldn't believe what a great value it was to feed our family of 4. I highly recommend the Goat Cheese Panini and the Double Chocolate Nut Brownie With Vanilla Ice Cream.

This was the most reasonable restaurant we found and also the food was very good. I got lasagne which was lovely and cheesy. The other half(!) got the mega burger which he was well delighted with! Service was also excellent. Would definitely go there again!!

I was on holiday in Kerry in September 08 and we went to O'Donnabhain's twice. The food was great and the service was excellent. They had a lovely big fire buring away in the Bar also and it set the mood nicely. Would recommend O'Donnabhains to anyone
