I had a superb meal here. I had a beautiful goats' cheese starter and a nice belly of pork for main. The pressed chocolate cake was divine!!

I have to say poor overall. In this day and age i'd expect more from a restaurant and from the staff. The service was very poor from all irish waitresses. The fsteak was chewy. I had it with Garlic butter. It was oil with a clove of garlic in it. Very greasy. The desserts were not of a great standard and who in god's name wants hen's egg to start? Dissaointed overall. Wont be recommending it and definately wont be going back.

We as in a group ate ther a couple of weeks ago. I have to say food was lovely but the service left a lot to be desired! In this day and age and some of my group working in the public service, we know that with a group you hope that you may at least get 1 more customer or repeat visit. The ignorance and arrogance of these waitresses was unbelievable. I really can understand how they are still surviving. As well as this we irish pride ourselves as the warm and welcoming type! You dont get that here. Overall very disappointed.

DO NOT GO THERE!!!! I ate in Mulcahys on Sat night with 11 of my friends and family and it was the worst dining experience of my life. When we booked the table we were told we needed to be finished for half eight which was fine, but due to poor inefficient service we were not able to do so. As we were finishing our main course we were told we had to hurry up and order our desert and leave!! We explained to "the owner" we were eating as according as we were being served. "The owner" then singled out my mother and said she had taken 10 minutes more than everyone else to eat her steak and that she knew this as she had been watching the clock!!! After that only some people received their desert and my sister didnt get any cutlery to eat hers with. When we complained "the owner" began to verbally abuse us. We asked for the bill straight away and as we were leaving she claimed that we short changed her by €10, which we know we didn't as we had counted it three times when I asked her to show us the money so we could count it but she refused which only leads me to believe she was lying. I have never experienced anything like it in my life, my friends and I were both shocked and offended by the whole thing. Overall the atmosphere was poor, the food was overpriced and average, the service was terrible. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Very good food with excellent presentation. Starters of duck confit and crab salad followed by mains of black sole and beef wellington. Accompanying veg and sauces worked very well. Only dissapointing element was a strawberry roulade/ice cream dessert which was fine but not up to the standard of what went before it. Drank some excellent Spanish Albarino and Rioja. Can't really comment on atmosphere too much as the table we were sat at was hidden behind a wine rack and near the toliet entrances! Service was pleasant and attentive. Only other quibble and it is a small one is that it is a little pricey.

Best meal I've had in a long time. The staff were really friendly and created a nice relaxed atmosphere. The food was very well presented and tasted great. The chocolate fondant for dessert was to die for!!! Would definitely recommend Mulcahy's and I hope we'll be back soon

Went to this place for my girlfriends parents 30th wedding anniversary. There were 7 of us and everyone ordered starters and main courses. Once we had ordered the chef sent out a taster of a mini risotto ball which was a nice touch. The bread included warm dough balls and homemade brown bread. When the starters came everyone was full of compliments for their own. The main courses were not a disappointment either. We got a mixture of fish and meat. The steak was beautiful as was the beef wellington. No complaints about the fish either. The main courses were served with a selection of home made chips, potatoe croquets and veg which really made the meal and for which there was no extra charge. The bill was approximately €50 per head including the wine and worth every penny would definitely recommend this place for a group or indeed a couple. The service was very good also no interuptions by the waitress asking who had ordered what.

This place is amazing, The chefs passion for his food is obvious and up there with the very best, Plenty of seasonal food, cooked and presented to perfection and served by wonderful and friendly staff. My Girlfriend and I visited on a Thursday evening at 6pm and just got in before the rush, Its very popular with the locals (good sign) . We picked the house wine which was excellent and great value, we got a delightful Amuse-bouche of cured mackerel with garlic flowers and fennel creme, We picked appetizers of an intricate crab salad for her, and tomato soup for me, Excellent. Followed by scallops for her and pan roasted cod fillet for me, accompanied by seasonal veg. Amazingly perfect balance of flavour throughout the dishes. We finished off with a Chocolate fondant, My girlfriend nearly passed out with pleasure eating it (girls will be girls), and my Crème brûlée was perfect, Best meal I ever ate, Well done mulcahys.
