I love the Pier Head. I have been going to the Pier Head for years and its consistently excellent. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Having just been at a very well known restaurant in Dublin last night that was absolutely awful myself and my partner began talking about the Pier Head and that we always enjoy going here. We are guaranteed great food and the service is next to none!! I highly recommend going here.

Nine of us stopped here yesterday afternoon for some lunch. The service was very efficient and the restaurant setting is lovely - overlooking an inlet. I had a great seafood Chowder - what you want when you're beside the Atlantic!! Some friends had the fish of the day - a substancial portion of fresh whiting and the crab claws were also a hit. I'd recommend here for lunch. It's a lovely small village for a wander afterwards as well. The prices were standard for lunch fare - soups (4 - 5 euros, mains 10 - 12 etc.)

Had dinner here on the way back to Dublin from Clare. Fantastic location, especially when the sun is out. We just had main courses as didn't want to delay too much. I had the breaded chicken, another person had the filet steak and the last person had the rainbow trout. The meals were pretty big and came with chips, vegetables, salad and potatoes. Very nice food and the dishes were picked were pretty simple and didn't have any asian fusion inspirations but there is a bit of that on the menu. The fish is fresh though and very tasty.

Have dined here in the past on a number of occasions and went again recently for diner. Great setting even if the space could be utilised a bit better to take advantage of then surroundings. Very busy spot which meant that it was very cramped from a diners perpective. There seems to be an asian slant with the inclusion of lime, coconut and chillis in a lot of dishes/sauces which meant the accompanying veg were not a great match . Steaks, sea bass, salmon and pork dishes were ok if not spectacular. Desserts including a decent pavlova were ok. Service was rushed due to numbers. A bit on the pricey side for the quality of the food, service, etc.
