The Green Hen, City Centre South

Located on Exchequer Street in the heart of Dublin city centre. The Green Hen is a French Bistro, offering classic dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Situated over two floors, we take reservations for the bar, ground floor dining room and the first floor, this is also available for private hire for groups between 20 and 30. It has its own bar and two wood burning fires. We are happy to take reservations for lunch and dinner. We don’t take reservations for brunch; this operates on a first come first served basis.

Had a gorgeous lunch here. Food was great, really tasty, well presented and great value. Vservice was excellent and the venue is fab, little piece of French bistro life in the middle of Dublin. Would highly recommend

Myself, Husband and some friends went to The Green Hen on Sat night for a double bday night out. The Staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us some good recommendations on the food and cocktails. Food was suberb, I had seafood platter and ate every bite. The wine was lovely with good range of choice. The cocktails are amazing, try the Pomegranate Cosmo. There is a lovely relaxing atmosphere with suberb food and yummy cocktails. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and we will be going back soon for seconds.

Was here on sunday night after going to a show in the O2 - had read the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. Was very impressed with the food here.Starters were salt and chilli squid - only negative is i could not taste any chilli - and beef carpaccio which was delicious. Main course was pork escalope with apple and potato croquette which was very tasty but the portion of pork was huge and I could only eat half of it. And we had Confit of duck which was also very tasty. Though the star of the night was the sticky toffee pudding we shared for dessert, light but dense cake with the most delicious toffee sauce all over and a very subtle rum raisin ice cream. One of the best I have ever tasted. We had 2 courses each, shared a dessert and had a glass of wine and a beer and the total came to 78 euro which I felt was pretty good value overall for what we got.
