Stopped off here with my children and 2 other adults. And from all our experiences to date this was the WORST! We placed our order. We were only ones on bar area for food at the time. Another family came in after us. They got their drinks we were still waiting for jug of water after asking 5 times, we did wait 10 mins before asking first time, no apology, just annoyance from the bar person we placed order with. Eventually got it with wine we ordered 20 mins later. Some food came to table after 30 mins. We were still waiting on one main course, potatoes for my stew and one side chips. We waited 10 mins then asked. Bar person said potatoes & chips on their way and we didn't order the 5th main, which we did. Now other tables had potatoes & chips coming out to other tables?? The management asked if all alright, we said no and they highlighted that they had to ask staff. Came back and said never had a complaint before and bar person said we placed a second order for other items, we of course said no, sure sides were supposed to come with 2 of mains and why would one person not order anything?? They said they had to listen to their staff. My Aunt said did they ever hear of Customer is always right, their response...... 'Not in my hotel' We then got up to leave with only 2 kids meals eaten and one main. We refused to pay for 2 mains, as I sent my stew back to wait for potatoes, but they were insisting we pay for stew. So we still didn't pay for it but paid for everyting else. It was appalling. As I said earlier, worst experience of my life. My friend from France was also appalled. Only go here if you are happy not to have a voice or opinion. And to be told what you ordered or not.

We have spent Christmas here for 3 years in a row and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is really lovely, warm and cosy. Log fires burning in the sitting areas. The food is top class, really delicious and great choices. The staff are extremily attentive without being intrusive and go out of their way to help you in any way possible. Beautiful views from the dining room window over Cashel Bay.
