101 Talbot, City Centre North

The 101 Talbot is one of Dublin's best-loved restaurants thanks to excellent modern cooking and vivacious service. It boasts great food, friendly staff, buzzing atmosphere and full bar licence. The 101 is highly acclaimed and recommended in many guides. . Popular with Dublin's artistic and literary set, and conveniently close to the Abbey and Gate theatres, the restaurant is a very central venue to start or end an evening in Dublin's city centre. Creative contemporary food -- with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences -- using fresh local ingredients. A broad range of healthful options and several vegetarian choices make this a highly versatile restaurant. Our walls often display exhibitions of contemporary art, usually by local artists.

I have heard about this place for a long time so decided to try it out, I dont know were to begin about the noise as I have never been in a restaurant with so much noise, I dont know how that happened but our waiter could not hear what we we wanted to order with all the noise as he had only started working there. I was with some old friend and we like to talk when out, you could only hear the person sitting next to you. The food was good, the decor is very simple no frills, I wont be back due to the noise.

I ate here for the first time last night. We ordered from the set menu of 2 courses for 29.95 which was good value. The restaurant was packed the whole time we were there, with a nice atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. The food was very good, particularly the chicken with tomato, chorizo & mediterranean ragout and rocket & sun-dried tomato pesto which was really flavoursome and served with delicious duck fat roast potatoes. It was one of the nicest meals I have had out in a while and we will definitely go back. A nice spot on the northside of the city centre.
