Stumbled on this restaurant on a brief visit to Clifden. The menu has agreat choice of seafood dishes.I chose some oysters for starters and tuna for main course, both good and fresh. The tuna was a little over cooked but it tasted good neverthe less. Staff were extremely friendly appeared to be a family situation but it worked really well. If I was to have any complaint it was the lack of half bottles of wine on the wine list because you can be very limited with wine by the glass and chardonnay isnt my choice in wine. overall it was value for money with a good friendly relaxed atmosphere. I will be back in the Autumn!!

Great little restaurant in clifden. Had a lovely dinner there last weekend, seems like its a family run business, very friendly and helpful. Went back again for breakfast sunday morning before leaving town.

Very disappointed. Had booked a table for 4 people and when we got there we were told we had to wait, while we waited they asked the people at the table we were due to sit at to leave very abruptly and rudely very embarrassing for us. They then proceeded to sit us at the table in a big draught (its cold out tonight) with a dirty tablecloth (the same one the previous guests used) and reset the table using cutlery that the previous guests didnt use (from their sitting). We then asked to sit at another table as there were numerous empty ones and were told they were booked earlier that day despite us booking at 11.30am!The staff were so rude to us and the previous people in addition to the dirty tables that we decided to leave and eat elsewhere in clifden. Very disappointed with the staff and restaurant unfortunately we won't be returning.

One of the better family places in Clifden. Nice decor and atmosphere. The food is good, lots of fish. Cleggan crab claws to start were delicious. the fish with bacon and asparagus was fine, the steak fine. An enjoyable meal in a nice setting -certainly in the top 4 restaurants in Clifden.

Fabulous evening spent in Off the Square from the moment we arrived staff could not be more helpful. Food was excellent, the special (sea trout ) was wonderfully presented and straight from the boat. Served with delicious chunky chips and creamed garlic potatoes that I can still taste. Good wine selection and childrens menu. Well worth a visit and great value for money

Had a great meal here last weekend. The food is very fresh and not overly fussy. Had mussels to start and sea bass with pea mash. Shared dessert, which was a molten chocolate pudding, yum. With 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert, wine and coffe, bill came in under 80euros which was very reasonable given the quality of food. Would definitely recommend, but make sure you book in advance at weekends.

Food pretty good, service rather peculiar. Lunch was reasonable chowder and sandwiches, kid's selection was generous and good quality. They don't seem to use the cheapest burgers and nuggets, which I appreciate. Service was odd in terms of the order of serving - chowder was treated as a starter, but chowder with a sandwich was served as a main; coffees served before the dessert order was taken. This got annoying as it made lunch too long with kids. Overall good meal but service could improve.
