The best crab i have ever had in my life!! Myself and my family, sadly went here 3 times in the week we stayed in clifden. But it was amazing! Open crabmeat sandwich, the plate was stuffed with the crabmeat, fresh just out of the sea!! Huge portion! And i also had the crab claws in garlic butter at same time - im a savage i know. Huge claws! Monsters. Beautiful. I have told amillion peopel about this place. Really small and quaint. In the harbour of Cleggan. Beautiful back drop of the mountains facing it.

The first time we visited Oliver's was just after Christmas. We were staying in the Bed&Breakfat above the bar and unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the winter. Very disappointing. We still had nice food, in the form of open sandwiches (prawn and smoked salmon) and soup but it wasn't the dinner we were looking forward to. Recently we visited Oliver's again and this time to our delight the restaurant was open! What a delicious meal. My partner had the crab claws in garlic, and he said they were delicious, very tasty and succulent. I had the sirloin steak with garlic butter and what arrived out was amazing. An enormous perfectly cooked steak, piping hot and swimming in juices. Tender, juicy and definitely the best steak I've eaten in a long time. Excellent value and afterwards we could enjoy the great atmosphere and live music in the bar. Will definitely be returning.

Have been going to Olivers since before I could walk, Cleggen is a great spot for a quiet holiday. The food is always really good either eating in the bar or in the restaurant. The staff can become a bit distracted sometimes with more than 1 coming to your table to ask for your orders. 1 great thing is they have toys of the kids to keep them entertained. Fish is always fresh with a tank of lobsters at the door. Well worth a visit.
