My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. It was a last minute booking. We were lucky to get the reservation as the restaurant was packed out. There is a lovely area to sit, when you walk in, with a fireplace and comfortable chairs while you wait for your table to be ready and to sip on a pre-dinner drink which you can then take to your table with you. The food was absolutely delicious with good sized portions. Will definately be returning.

My first thought when I visited this restaurant is that it is very old fashioned so it depends what you are looking for. The service is very good. The food I wouldn't say excellant unless we really made poor choices I am a big fan of sea food restaurants and this wouldn't be up there in that regards. Having said that the food was nice but only nice even if a bit on the expensive side. Yes the fish was very fresh I found the main a little over cooked and to be honest the presentation a little out dated. They did have extra touches like a shot glass of what seemed like a smoothie however I found this one a little strange as I didn't think it fitted in some sort of tasty amuse bouche would have been better. But then you have to take into account it is not a modern restaurant just depends on personal taste. My expectations may have been a little high going here but I have had tastier and better value meals in Howth.

Tried this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night. They have 3 separate menus on offer but we chose from the a la carte which probably wasn't a great idea when the final bill came! I had scallops to start followed by monkfish. Scallops were deliciously soft but the pudding should have been grilled not fried in my opinion as it was too soggy. Hubby had the dublin bay prawns to start which were expensive given the portion size. Follwed that with the fillet of turbot which again was a tiny portion for the price. Mains came with a dish of baby boiled potatoes and some steamed veg. Food was very good but very expensive for what we got. Probably better value to be had with their dinner menu or tasting menus
