I used to think this restaurant served quality italian food but having recently visited here after over a year standards have really dropped. They no longer serve their lovely focaccio garlic bread as a starter only brushetta, which was neither toasted served with taste-less mushy tomatoes. There is very little choice on the menu they have really cut back what they serve with only a choice of 5 starters and about 14 main courses. My pasta main course was overcooked and unfortunately very stodgy with overcooked brocolli and chicken. The staff were unfriendly and lacked warmth. They have added more tables so everyone is squished on top of each other which doesnt make for the best atmosphere. This restaurant does really good food, traditional italian style run by an italian family and almost all waiters italian which makes for an authentic feeling. The pasta dishes are the best, my favourite is the vegtarian ravioli the sauce is so rich an tasty, try it with their homemade garlic bread it is divine, kind of like focaccia bread but nicer! It can get very busy at the weekends so I would def recommend booking a table. It is not the best value for money but I think as a treat it is worth it as the food is so tasty!

This is one of the most popular Italians in Galway. Its always quite busy, yet has a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are very friendly. My four cheese bruschetta starter was delicious. It was large enough to share with two others. Im not sure Ive found a dessert I love there yet and my friends pasta, veg and chicken dish could have done with a little more chicken.

The food here is fantastic, the service is amazing and the value is good. You are always guaranteed a good meal. The only prtoblem I have with this place is it is very family friendly so there are often lots of children which can be difficult if you want a nice quiet meal.

On a trip to Galway and this was the first time Ive eaten here. I wasnt impressed with the service, food (Garlic Bread especially, felt it lacked flavour) and there was alot of confusion over our bill at the end. It didnt make for a great experience at all. We were sat at the first table in front of the toilets too, which had an unpleasent smell. Wont be going back im afraid.

We used to go here all of the time but a couple of times we went we were not impressed with the service. This time however, I was very happy with it and the staff seemed to have changed from the last time I was there and were much better. I got the vegetarian tagliatelli which shoud be served with a cream sacue but I asked for it with a tomatoe one and it was excellent! The others got the cannelloni ai funghi which as usual was fab,but could have done with a little more white sauce and a Caesar salas which again was lovely. We got a bottle of the house Pinot Grigio which was tatsy! I will definitley go again...and fingers crossed for the service because the food is fab!

We ate here before years ago and remembered it as a good experience so with nowhere booked late on a Saturday evening we managed to get a table. The restaurant was packed, almost squashed but there was a great buzz to it! The food was just mediocre, the bruschetta was a mass lump of dough with a few mushrooms swimming in a garlic sauce . We both decided to go for pasta mains. Mine was with asparagus and prawns, somewhat bland and not the greatest combination. Mr. Mona had a seafood emsemble with way too much pesto sauce going on. Another annoyance was the large quantities of 'fish-sticks' included instead of 'real fish'! Dessert was perhaps the best bit, an apple and raisin pudding was lovely, warm and tasty and went down well with the Irish coffee. The service was excellent I must say though we did have a while to wait for our bill to come. In terms of value for money, it was alright, for a few more euro we could have dined at a higher standard I feel. I would visit Da Roberto but opt for the cheap option of a pizza and a glass of wine, undoutedly I would be just as satisfied!!!

this is a fab restaurant. any time we're in galway we try t get in here or its sister restaurant up the street. The food is always perfect and the service is excellent. They really pay attention to detail and cant do enough to help you. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone who may say they're going to galway!

I ate here with my boyfriend when I was down for the Races. We tried to eat here before but the queues were always so big, so I had high hopes for the place. However, first impression from the waiter wasn't great and the staff didn't check on us at all during the meal. I ordered the chicken bake which was gorgeous, but was far too hot! While my boyfriend ordered a Calzone, which came out cold and was wrong. This was recommended to me by friends and I don't know how, as I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, during a busy period anyway

My girlfriend and I ate there on a quiet enough Monday night. Even with only a few tables there we found the service not very efficient. We added a side dish when the main course arrived but that never arrived, then we asked for the dessert menu but that never arrived either. The food was nice, nothing special, the sauces were a tad on the salty side but the pizza was good. Good value for money too.

I have been here three times, the first time the waitress seated people who came in after us so we left as the only table left was one with a small gap to the next table. The second time I came and got a private table on the side, the food was very nice and the service was ok. The third time I came with a large group and it was the day the holy communions were on and they had a large booking. They still fitted us in but made us feel like we were inconveniencing them as paying customers, the owner even pointed to us and shaking her head to one of her regulars while we were eating. Another friend joined us five minutes later and pulled a chair from an empty table only to be looked upon like a piece of dirt by the waiter rather than explaining it was needed by a party coming soon. Two people at our table got up and left because of the rudeness, the rest of us let it pass and had a decent meal. Having said that, I wont be back, regardless of the food being good, the kind of rudeness displayed by management and filtering down to the staff should not be rewarded. Tables can be very cramped together, although this is the Italian way, its nice to have a little more personal space when dining out so unless you get a table on the side, be prepared to be within touching distance of your fellow diners.

The best pizza i have eaten outside Italy! Rude staff and expensive prices put a cloud over the food though! Will be back!

A crowd pleaser for our family of fussy eaters. The menu is also suitable for all budgets eg it is possible to get a very filling pasta dish for under €10, or pricier items include veal, salmon etc. Their smoked salmon salad is delicious and very generously sized, pizzas are immensly popular with an authentic thin base. Vegetarians and meateaters alike are well catered for. Deserts aren't that exciting, they tend to rely on various combinations of icecreams and the tiramisu is the standard type that is widespread in Ireland. I recommend going for an nice choice of starter and maincourse instead. The restaurant is currently in a new location, it has a large dining room and as it is very popular with families it can tend to be noisy, but it deverves its popularity.

Myself and my friends eat here every time we make a visit to Galway!! The menu is excellent and offers more that just lasagne and penne arrabiata. I've sampled a selection from their menu from my numerous visits and the food has never disappointed. The only fault was the service was a bit slow on my last visit but that won't keep me away!

We had a meal here last night and were both delighted. The place was packed (always is apparently) but service was fairly sharp, good-humoured and brisk. My shrimp cocktail was very generous but the sauce was a bit thin for my liking. I came here with the intention of trying their pizza but ended up being tempted by the Involtini della Casa chicken dish. I was not disappointed. Salad with both dishes was very fresh and beautifully seasoned. Desserts were simple but tasty and everything seemed great value. Loads of atmosphere if you like busy Mediterranean buzz. We loved it and are looking forward to the next time.

I was there last Monday for a business lunch with my partner and I went to take a look in the new Da Roberta ....what can I say: the place was packed, which is good, the bad thing is that the food was well delayed from it, was served cold, and wasn't even what we asked for. We have been there several times and from last three times we have been always over charged and not happy at all about this place. I am really sorry to write this report, but I won't come back there. P.s. they don't even do a lunch menu', they serve dinner menu' all day !

On a recent visit to Galway with friends we liked this restaurant so much we went twice in four days!! The pizzas are lovely. We had a couple of different pasta and chicken dishes in the group that were all really nice. Service is great, the staff are so friendly. Place has a great cosy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend, good value for money.

Great food, service just ok. I've been there to meet friends before & asked to be seated with them only to be refused while there were several empty tables that night. On this occasion we had prebooked a table for 3 but were squeezed into a table for 2. When it came time for us or others to leave, diners had to stand up & move out of the way. Space is too tight & it gives an impression of penny pinching etc As I said, great food but not the atmosphere conducive to a relaxing night out!

Really enjoyed the food here - many delicious Italian options. Portions are generous and meal was good value. Only downside was the draught coming from the door, near which I was seated. Bear in mind portion size when ordering a starter, bruschette was huge, so sharing a starter is probably best. All in all very satisfying.

I ate here yesterday evening and was pleasanty surprised! We didn't have a reservation and were lucky to get a seat. We both opted for the calzone pizza and it was delicious! the staff were very helpful and the food is reasonably priced. My only complaint was that it was somewhat tight on space

Went there on 7/02/08 and was so impressed by the food. It's been 3 years since we last visited and thought food was so much better this time. Restaurant is very packed in the evening and staff coming in and out banged the door every time which was a bit annoying but service was great and food was the best italian i've tasted in galway.

Was there on Friday night it was really busy. we were seated at the back near the counter/kitchen and there were lots of people queueing beside us for takeaway orders. The place seems really crowded and noisy. Good place for hangout with families & friends but not for romantic meals. Other than that, the food was superb and there are lots of choices. will go back again.

Brilliant food, great atmosphere...you need to book well in advance as this place often has a queue going out the door. Owners are always out talking to customers and the rest of the staff are great. Food is lovely - served fast and so tasty. Only thing is desserts are prepacked ice cream affairs - a pity as they do the other courses so well.
