This pub is named after the Blind poet Raftery. "I am Raftery the Poet. Full of hope and love, My eyes without sight, My mind without torment. Going west on my journey By the light of my heart, Tired and weary To the end of the road. He would have beed delighted to reach this pub at the end of the road, with its charm and old school ambiance, it is a jewel of a dining experience. Sitting by the open fire on a Sunday with a wonderful roast dinner is the perfect way to spend the afternnon. The food here is not pretentious, its is a pub serving really good pub food. The portions are huge and extra veg is always on offer. The service is also wonderful, friendly local staff are only too obliging. Sunday lunch runs around €10 and for the comfortable surroundings, open fire, good food and friendly staff, I would rate this as one of the top places to eat outside of Galway city.
