Excellent meal. High quality food, beautifully presented . Had the clam linguine- very generous portion - fantastic flavour. My husband had the mussels with chorizo starter followed by the steak. Steak was good, mussel dish was fantastic - inspired combination of flavours . All in all a great experience

Went for a meal with a party of five last night. Was my first night out in ages so expectations were high. The Old Schoolhouse has been taken over just recently by the power couple who have run another successful restaurant in the area for years. Wow is all I can say! Had the anti pasti to share followed by the veggie option which was gorgeous. Topped off with a blackberry trifle made from fruit handpicked that day from proprietors garden! It's just open after being closed for a while and will be a roaring success with these guys at the helm. Highly recommended.

We had a Sunday lunch in this restaurant during the Summer and thoroughly enjoyed this fine hideaway restaurant. The restaurant itself is located in an old schoolhouse (hence the name) and it's nice to see some of the old touches are still in place in the decor. There is ample parking and the toilets were very clean and well maintained. The menu here was quite varied for a Sunday lunch and the quality of the food and service was very high. I had lamb shank which was both tasty and filling. My wife had sea bream which light but moist and perfectly cooked. We shared a desert of chocolate brownie with ice cream which was also delicious. Service was fast and the bill being placed in an old school book was a lovely little touch. Price wise, it was a little more expensive than a Sunday carvery meal but for the quality of the food it was still very reasonable.

This is a great place and it seems to be very quite everytime I go past, so I hope it will stay open! First off, the summer or spring, when you can sit outside is the best time to visit this restaurant, the outdoor seating at the back overlooking the garden is fantastic on a nice day. Inside is also a pleasant experience with the old schoolhouse feel every corner. The staff are excellent and very attentive, you will not have to go looking for a waiter, due to the size of the restaurant they are always within calling distance! The Early bird is the reason to really go here. For €25 good value but it could be dropped to €19.99 to give exceptional value and in todays economic climate, they may have to to attract more clientelle.

Excellent top class restaurant could not fault a thing. Early bird is fantastic value, staff were so kind, totally on the ball and friendly without going overboard. Will definitely be returning. Lovely atmosphere whether it is empty (when we arrived) of full (when we left)
