Despite being a native of Tuam I only visited Cré na Cille for the first time last November and again on New Year's Eve. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I certainly didn't expect both meals I enjoyed there. The menu has plenty of variety and when I visited there were also a starter special and main course special. Both times I've visited the food has been perfect and I also thought it was excellent value. It's not cheap, but you're not charged for sides and the portions are quite generous. On New Year's Eve we paid €82 for 2 starters, 2 mains (one a fillet steak), 2 coffees (actaully a pot of hot coffee as opposed to the usual lukewarm and overcharged "cup") and half bottle of wine. For the quality of food and service it was worth every cent. My only hope is that this place doesn't change a thing!

Reasonably typical Irish country town restaurant, loads of butter and cream with nearly every dish. Also, the most amazing amount of potatoes with every meal. Service is good and friendly, and the quality of the food is good, with very large portions. All in all, a good effort for Tuam's only real restaurant that's not a Chinese or Indian.
