A group of 9 of us had the early bird menu on the Sunday of the bank holiday. The menu wasn't very extensive but offered a good choice for different tastes. At first I thought the €10 supplement for the rib eye steak was quite high but when I saw the size and quality of the steak I was more than happy with my order - one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone and would be happy to go back again. It has a lovely atmosphere for a hotel restaurant.

We ate from the "selection" menu - a choice of three starters, mains and desserts. The food was of excellent quality, beautifully presented and served by charming and attentive staff. The only blip was the poor coffee, served lukewarm and not at all appealing. It seemed to be the same coffee in the lounge later.

Service was very nice, and food was of good quality in the main (5 of the 6 people I was with liked it), but I would not eat there again. One of our party (my young son) ordered a plain burger, which duly arrived smothered in mayo. That was fine, and we sent it back to the kitchen, but the burger that then arrived back was cold, and had to be sent back again. eedless to say, my son was quite upset (and hungry) at this stage. I understand that mitakes can happen, but this was on a very slow day (it was Patricks day and the place was empty), and I have NEVER seen food sent back twice - I thought it was careless. If you want to run the risk, atmostphere is nice (we wanted a quiet night), and the sorrounds are good, and the waiting staff are very professional etc, and its reasonably good value.
