I like this place, the decor is fab, I always like the food, pizza is lovey, great kiddie menu. One thing i cant forgive though! On my last visit my friend ordered Caeser Salad, it arrived with not nice freshly cooked pieces of chicken but with slices of chicken from a supermarket, We were not impressed, because the staff dont have the best english you dont feel you will get any satisfaction from complaining so we said nothing. My friend would never go back she said, Me i will return but wont be ordering caesar salad!

The Pins Bar
Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words and I'm delighted to see you enjoy our extensive menu, especially the pizza which so many rave about, the decor and our famous kiddie menu. The Pins prides itself greatly on the wonderful food reputation it has garnered over the past two and a half years. I am delighted to see you will be returning. I do hope that the next time we fail to exceed your expectations that you would let us know. Please do not assume that the two members of our team who are not Irish will give you any less attention. They are both professional waiters and of the highest calibre. We are always on hand to ensure you receive exceptional value for money and this is something every team member here is trained to live by. Once again, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to improve further. Fergus

I spent a long weekend at the Twelve hotel with my boyfriend towards the end of January. We were disappointed to find that the highly regarded West restaurant was closed during our stay. I am glad to report that the Pins Bar menu was more than capable keeping us happy. We ate in the Pins Bar on the 1st and 3rd nights of a 3 night stay. We ate in Galway city on the 2nd night somewhere we were advised was a top eatery in Galway, and both myself and my boyfriend both agreed that the food in the Pins bar the previous evening had been better! There was a great set menu for €20.50 that included a speciality Twelve hotel cocktail, plus 2 courses. My boyfriend went for the set menu the first night and enjoyed the calamari for starter and pork belly special for main. Both were beautifully cooked and presented. I went for the blackened cod wrapped in speck. It was absolutely beautiful, melted in my mouth. Nicest main i have had in ages. The menu is actually a lot more bigger and more varied than the full menu on the menupages website would suggest. The 2nd meal we had there wasn't quite so good. We both went for the set menu. It was a busy saturday night and there were no specials on offer. One of the mains had been sold out, so there was only a choice of 2 mains. We both enjoyed a berry infused cocktail, a decent main of bacon and colcanan, which neither of us had tasted in sometime and some beautiful poached pears for dessert. For bar food it was excellent and easily of the same quality of food served in top Dublin restaurants. The wine list was a little limited, but reasonably priced. The atmosphere was relaxed, and service was efficient and friendly without being over bearing. I would definately recommend this eatery to a friend, and plan to eat there again when I vist Galway with family in April.

The Pins Bar
Dear guest, Thank you once again for your support and your kind words in your review of The Pins BarBistro at The Twelve. I am sorry we did not offer more alternatives to your menu when certain dishes had sold out. I will address this with my team. Just for the next time, please ask to see our master wine list. This has over 400 wines on it and 16 wines by the glass. It has won The Wine Spectator award and a host of other wine awards. It is readily available in West and on request in The Pins. I know you'll be impressed. Once again, thank you for your honest feedback and your support. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can help you with anything in the future. Best wishes Fergus

had an excellent meal in the pins bar. when we were there there was choice of a set menu. myself and my boyfriend both had chowder which was great lots of fish nice taste. only complaint was it could be a bit warmer but it was bearable. For mains i had salmon and my partner had sea trout both of which were delicious with huge portions and the Veg was really fresh cooked just right. The best part of our meal was definately the chocolate brownie with icecream... best i'Ve eVer had. also had a baileys coffee whch was nice. waiter was attentiVe and not pushy.. lots of families in nice cosy atmosphere..

Had lunch here, mid week and enjoyed the experience! The sandwiches are really nice, although I think that the lattes that we finished our lunch with were very over priced! Its not a cheap option for lunch, but pre budget it was ok! It was fairly busy there, so they much be doing something right!

Fantastic food, fantastic value, fantastic choices, fantastic staff. We were staying in the hotel for a few days and ended up eating in he Pins every night as the food was so good. They have a set menu which includes a cocktail as well as an a la carte. Everything we had was super, from the smoked salmon pizza to the beef pie, calamari to lemon meringue pie. Can't wait to go back.
