Was in the park with a mixed group of 12 on Friday night . First impression was the friendliness of the staff who catered for all our needs without being intrusive. Menu was good and suited all our tastes. . I had pate to start with the most delicious cumberland sauce i have ever had. I had duckling as a main and found it tasty but a little overdone for my liking .I was not asked how i wanted it cooked although other people were asked the only oversight of the night. Others had a range of dishes and all were happy . The vegetables were particularly nice i had a mediterranean stir fry . One other person had duck as well and also thought it was not up to scratch . Overall a good experience

Lovely, relaxed, friendly, cosy restaurant. The food is always tasty and the presentation is pretty. Vegetarians beware! The vegetable soup is cooked with chicken stock although its on the menu as, 'vegetable soup'. This place really needs to look into more options for vegetarians.

One of my favourite places to eat in Galway and that's a very small list. Simply put - the Park House Hotel is consistent. The food is simple and well prepared. If you want no surprises - eat here. There is a fine dining restaurant and bar food served at the bar. I remember the service and food are great in the restaurant but due to my recessionista attitude, I mostly eat lunch in the bar these days. It's wonderful every time. The bar looks somewhat like you'd expect the Titanic to look and there's a wonderful rich old style feel to it all. Highly recommend the salmon for lunch. Served with the usual veg and potatoes and a beautiful lobster sauce. So simple yet so perfect. Service is excellent - you know the staff are there for the long haul and they remember you. They do fairly standard menu with things like chicken Maryland, roast beef and pan seared fish. I love the seafood pasta (sometimes a little overcooked but always tasty). They also have excellent desserts. You cannot stay in Galway without having at least lunch here.

Very pleasant experience with some beautiful food. Excellent service. Food is quite heavy so more time needed between courses. Had Early Bird which was excellent at 35 euro for 3 courses plus tea/coffee. Choice very extensive on this menu. Had bottle house red which brought bill up to 100 euro for 2 of us including tip which was well worth it. I had maison pate to start - beautiful, quite heavy. Mains I had burger which was delicious, served with baked potato with sour cream which I wasn't mad about. Would have preferred choice of chips or potatoes. For dessert I had the yummiest Toblerone cheesecake which was sooo heavy but I had to finish it. They also left 2 little pieces of cake to taste per person but couldn't manage that. Faultless service & lovely food. Would return. You need to be hungry before come here.

The food here is delicious and the service is second to none. However, the atmosphere was almost non existent as everyone seemed scared to be loud. It was definitely overly priced by today's standards. Not good value for money but I think I would go back again for the food...if they decided to do a good value early bird.

The menu is a real blast from the past, with starters such as egg mayonnaise, shrimp cocktail and pate maison. But the food is good quality and the portions generous. Variety of vegetables and choice of potato styles. Go there if you are hungry! Service was friendly and efficient. The only gripe was that wine was served from those small bottles, which is a particular pet aversion of mine. Otherwise a most enjoyable experience.

I traveled from Dublin to there. It is very big and lacked atmosphere, the décor was a bit glary. It is what it is fast food done well. And a coffee as all dishes came very quickly and the traffic was still there so I sat for a while over the coffee.

Visited here for the first time with a friend. Great location right beside the train station. Ideal if you want a proper veg dinner. I opted for the fillets of whiting and recieved 3 large fillets! My friend opted for the chicken curry. Both dishes came with a side of mashed potato which was delicious and creamy and also a mixture of mashed carrots and parsnips (also delicious) and mixture of peas and sweetcorn (wasnt so keen on these frozen veg). Good value and the service was incredibly quick considering the place was really really busy. Would return

Have eaten business lunches there on a regular basis - your typical irish type traditional lunch but what makes it different is the service - second to none in the restaurant. Also serve paninis, soup etc - desserts very good value!

I wish I could review this restaurant on this occasion but having booked a few weeks ago and having re-confirmed during the day I arrived, with guests, well on time for a nine o'clock reservation to be told that we would have to wait for an hour and a half. No apology was given, only a so-called explanation that people before were late - that clearly meant to me that our table had been given away but the unhelpful restaurant desk person refused to accept that. The place was so overcrowded and the atmosphere so out of keeping with what I had previously experienced there and the attitude so unwelcoming that after initial protests I decided to bring my business for that night to a another Galway restaurant where the attitude couldn't be more helpful, the food was excellent and indeed was better value than the pricey fare on offer here. I won't be back.

I don't think I've ever been disappointed by the food that I have eaten in this restaurant. The only thing that is a bit lacking is the atmosphere. The waiting staff are very professional and the manager is always seen to be keeping an eye on your every need.

Very old fashioned hotel restaurant, from the decor to the food. Each dish is decorated with 'carved' salad vegetables. However, the prices are not so old-fashioned. EU26 for a very average portion of scampi? Ouch! Crab claws were tasty but the side orders of veg were well past their prime. Overall, your parents will probably feel very at home here but not so great for a younger diner.

This restaurant does a very good trade a lunch time particularly with business people. Whilst the food is good, it is also a bit on the expensive side as the portions are so small! On more than one occassion I have had to request another slice of meat as what I got was so thin and small and I was told that I would have to pay for another meal in full!!

Have eaten in this restaurant for many years. Never once had a bad meal or bad service. Some staff are there for a long time and that is a great comfort. Everyone is professional warm and happy. The size of the meal is fantastic, never left the restaurant feeling anything other than satisfied. They will cater for anyone, even fussy me who is not a great meat eater. The chef will grill boil whatever you wish, even takes my fish off the bone when i ask. Fantastic value for the centre of town, and wonderful anytime of year, even if run of their feet at say the races time, staff never get cross. well recommended over and over.

I brought my girlfriend to the Park Restaurant as a treat for her birthday. We had a lovely evening - the food and service was first class and the company was not bad either! We were greeted by a very friendly maitre d who brought us to our table which was spot on - I had asked for a private table as it was a special occasion. My better half had the lobster salad to start which she raved about. I had the Prawn Tempura which was very good - the prawns were Dublin Bay, which the waitress explained to me are langoustines - more succulent than the usual Tiger Prawns which are more chewy. For mains my girlfriend chose the Sole on the Bone. This was accompanied by a light sauce which was perfect and was melt in the mouth - she generously gave me a taste! I had the Duckling - it came off the bone and crispy with a to die for sauce - the sauce had an orange flavour with gin and peppercorns to balance out the fruitiness. I am going to have a go at making this sauce at home if my girlfriend will spare me the gin! The garlic potatoes were gorgeous - creamy with a crispy cheese top, full of calories but well worth it. We shared a Creme Brulee for dessert which was fab - underneath the crispy caramelly top was a divine creamy custard with a real vanilla flavour - Wow! We We were really happy with the service and the food at the Park. We had some drinks in the hotel lobby after dinner which has a really relaxed atmosphere. The service and the staff are really special here, they come across as genuinely welcoming and helpful. It can be intimidating for a young couple to dine out at "posh" type restaurants but I have to say we felt very much at ease and will certainly be back to the Park.

Been here a couple of times, if you are looking for a safe bet, this is the restaurant for you. They seem to do a good job on everything but I have to say I've never left there thinking, wow, that was great. So it doesnt have the wow factor for me but everything is 'nice'. Definitely a good choice to bring your parents to, especially if they are like mine and have no interest in International cuisine.

I've been here on numerous occasions over the years (the last being new years eve) and i can't fault anything. The food is tops and the fillet of beef is the best in galway (never less than perfect). On my last visit there it was priced at 30euro (give or take a couple of cents) I could say the same about the duck which is fillet of duck. They charge extra for veg tho which i dont agree with. The toblerone cheesecake is the nicest ive ever tasted also. The service is fantastic, ive never had to ask for anything twice The staff are very professional and efficient. I only wish there were more like this in galway.

Very impressed with this place. Excellent food and service and a good menu to choose from also. Plenty of choice on the set menu. Overall, I could not fault anything. I usually do not eat in hotel restaurants because they are not up to the mark, however this one is exceptional. Top marks all round!

I liked this place. The staff were super friendly and efficient. Had the Pate to start, and the Chicken salad. My colleague had the soup and the chicken curry. This place gets quite popular in the evening and I can see why. I was here as a hotel guest, but if I return to Galway, I would happily use both the hotel and restaurant again.

This is a lovely comfortable cosy restaurant. We stayed for two nights and had the meal on one.A five course meal that was only delicious so much so I sent my compliments to the chef. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. The Chowder was great as was the baked trout. It was difficult to finish the meal with the number of side plates included. It came to 90 euro for the two and I have to say I didn't mind paying!Well worth a try.
