Ate in the spud house with my husband last week. Had the best meal we had all week in Galway. Pity we were going home the next day. Such good value, just dont know how they do it. The girl that served us could not be any friendlier. Cant wait to pay another visit and will be telling everyone from Cavan to eat there too.

Great restaurant mainly serving baked potatoes with a huge selection of different toppings. I had the thai red curry with side salad and my companion had the cheese and veg topping with side salad. Both were lovely, perfecting cooked potatoes and tons of veg with gorgeous dressing on the side salad. Great value too. They seem very popular with the students from across the road in NUIG and they do great trade with take away also. A good walk from Eyre Sq but will be back.

This is without a doubt one of my favourite restaurants in Galway. We go to this restaurant quite a bit because the food is absolutely divine and it's really cheap as well. I usually always go for a salad with a spud because I think they are absolutely to die for... The goats cheese salad is by far the nicest one I have ever had and I am a huge goats cheese fan and have eaten many a goats cheese salad! It comes with a red onion marmalade which is so delicious I sometimes ask for extra. The other dishes I like are the chicken skewers, the thai red curry potato dishes and the bolognese dish too. They always have a special on which could be anything from homemade burgers to lamb stew and I've tried lots of them and always really enjoy them. The wine is 16 euro a bottle which is brilliant value, can't go wrong, and the banoffee is my favourite dessert oh and the carrot cake!! If you're are getting a starter get the bruschetta, its so yummy and garlicy. All in all, I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough, I know it's a bit out of town but it's so worth the trip as another review has said already. Staff are lovely too :)
