We stayed at this hotel for two nights and the breakfast was not great at all - very small selection and i was not expecting much for the dinner that was included in our package but i was pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing, really attentive staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere, the food was quite gourmet and really tasty, the desserts were to die for and great value, would recommend.

I ate here on a weekend away and a meal was included in the price. When we went in to the dining room, it was devoid of staff and customers. The girl we had passed on reception on our way to the dining room followed us in and turned out to be the only member of dining staff. The menu was unimpressive, very generic stuff. I had black pudding in a salad to start which was of the standard I could have prepared myself with ingredients from my own kitchen. There was no dressing and the pudding itself I suspect to be Denny or Galtee! My girlfriend had fried brie to start which was an improvement on my starter but very standard. I had overcooked lamb as a main with a nice gravy and some veg that you would get at home or expect if you went to a (not particularly talented or exciting) friend's house for dinner. the wine selection was poor but the real shocker was dessert! there were 3 options - ice cream, poached pear or i think it was apple tart or tiramisu i had the poached pear which again wasn't wrong but i wouldnt be impressed if i cooked it myself or had it served by a friend. my girlfriend had the selection of ice cream which were shop bought and rock solid. they were awful. very poor indeed. NOT RECOMMENDED, despite the nice staff (i feel a bit sorry for the hotel staff as they are good, but the hotel itself has poor facilities)
