One of the best coffee houses in Galway especially on a rainy day. Great selection of coffees and also offer tapas free with glass of wine between 5pm and 7pm. French air about the place and atmosphere is top notch.

I love Java's, its my favourite café in Galway, real french feel, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Hot chocolate is the best iv had in a while, and really nice place to relax with a glass of wine.. Late opening is handy when looking for good food late.

This is a regular stop of mine, cheap, cheerful with the type of atmosphere that encourages you to linger reading a book for hours on end nursing a cup of tea. The downside is that service is slow. The upside is their excellent value cheese plate for €5, they also do a happy hour 6-7 daily, with every glass of wine you get a few tapas style nibbles. The fact that it is open till around 2am is a huge bonus, the one place in Galway where you can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after a night out!

Great Tea, Lovely Atmosphere, Nice Food. If I lived in Galway, I would make this a regular stop, sitting by the large open window and enjoying some of the lovely herbal teas they have. Myself, partner and brother (all with pretty different tastes in restaurants) were all pleased with our dishes and ate in the main dining room downstairs. The sandwiches are small but good value. Good wine pairing.

Ate here last week (early July). Service was very hit & miss, while waiting ages to order (think they forget about you when you're upstairs), and they still managed to get the order mixed up.. Still have to be Galways best late night venue, with great coffee also!! If they could tweak their menu, and get the service sorted, it would be be a great cafe, but now, imho, it's only standard fare!

Java's serve lovely food and have a nice artisan feel to the atmosphere, but the service can be poor at times when it's busy. The coffee is fine, but don't go for normal tea, try one of their herbal infusions instead. The cheese plate is fantastic.
