The restaurant seems to be closed, so this is a review of the bar food in the Townhouse. From the quality of the food, I think it is the restaurant chef that is doing the bar food, and hopefully this will not change if the restaurant reopens. This was my second time eating in the Townhouse, and it doesn't disappoint. The last time we simply had toasted sandwiches with salad, and it was easily the best toasted sandwich I've ever had. Even the salad was great. This time I went for the soup of the day, which was French onion. It was really good! It had a slab of garlic bread with cheese in it, like a giant crouton, and still came with lovely brown bread. I would definitely come back for that soup alone. For the main I had the veg and goat's cheese pie. They do 3 types of pies - spicy lamb, chicken mushroom & leek, and the goat's cheese one. Unfortunately the main ingredient was butternut squash, which I don't like at all. But the pie was certainly homemade and tasty. The person with me had the Cajun chicken burger and really liked it. The only issue was it was too big :) Even the chips were great and really looked and tasted homemade. I would highly recommend this place, and it is certainly better than your average pub grub. Even the service was nice and friendly. I can't fault it really. Of course it is still a pub, with TVs, so you have to expect some noise…

Four of us ate here on a wet Friday night and we were so glad we went out! The restaurant was almost full and everyone was in good humour, but especially the staff, which is always nice to see. I can't fault any of the food; the soup to start was velvety and delicious. All our mains were very well presented and more importantly they were scrumptious. I saw a plate of scallops go to another table and almost wished I'd ordered them but on our side the roast chicken was succulent, the pork belly was yummy, the rigatoni was so tasty and my butternut squash tart was savoury and moreish. Alll in all highly recommended. I would go back just to have the Texas Toothpicks!

We have had two staff nights out in Brannagans and have just booked our staff party for Christmas. In a word.. Yummy!! Food is varied and locally sourced. Staff are friendly and the Townhouse bar is lovely for both a pre and post dinner drink.

We had a large group 18 people, The staff were very accommodating, they even opened early for us. I couldn’t fault the food…excellent. There was a good range of choices. Food came out on time. Respectable choice of wines on offer. We all left very happy and didn’t feel like we were taken for a ride with the bill either! I'd go back.

Really enjoyed my meal at Brannagans. The menu had plenty of interesting choices and a good variety - I would say there is an option to suit most tastes. I had the cous cous salad to start which was really delicious and the Seabass which was a special that night. They use simple fresh ingredients that are cooked well - the result is really tasty food. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and the ambience is just perfect. A nice buzz about the place but not to overbearing for a couple to enjoy dinner. Service was nicely attentive and extremely friendly. Overall a great dinner at really reasonable prices. My only critisism was that the bill was left at our table after we ordered desert and coffee without us asking for it. We didnt mind but I know people who would not return to a restaurant on this basis.

A group of 8 of us ate here during race week and overall it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was lovely. We all ate from the early bird set menu which was a steal! To start I would recommend the spice beef koftas and the chicken skewers for main. The evening menu had dishes that also looked delicious and the wine menu had a good selection of wines. We all got a desertif, enjoyed a 2 course meal with wine and it came to approx €40 pp. All in all I found this restaurant great value for money and a pleasure to dine in.

Food was delicious, generous portions. Good choice of food on the menu. Service was excellent. Early bird menu, although limited, was good value.
