TGI Friday (Blackrock), Blackrock

TGI Friday’s offers a great night out with superb food and drink, great service and a fantastic party atmosphere with an authentic American feel. The decor, the food, the experience are all designed to let you enjoy Friday’s in a way only the Americans can do. The first TGI Friday’s restaurant opened on Manhattan’s upper East Side in 1965 and became the meeting place for New York’s singles. It’s menu and drinks are compiled with fun and relaxation in mind: burgers, steaks, pasta and salads, Ben and Jerry’s Icecream, and importantly, a massive range of exotic cocktails and authentic American beers. TGI Friday’s trades as a bar as well as a restaurant and is the perfect place to unwind after a hard days work.

Myself and my boyfriend had lunch ate lunch here on Saturday. We ordered from the 2 courses for €15 menu option. I had the bruschetta starter which was huge and the jack daniels chicken. My boyfriend had the wings and the ribs. The ribs were tender and delicious. He also had 2 pints for only €4 - it seems there was some discount deal when you purchase mains. Usually I would consider TGI's as expensive but this meal was good value. Staff and service was very good. I'll be back!

We availed of the 2 courses for €15 offer, and without ordering from this menu I consider TGIs to be very expensive. I fancied fajitas when I arrived however, they weren't on the special offer menu, and were around the €16 mark (more than the 2 courses) off the a a la carte. So I went for the bruschetta starter and pasta main. I think that was the only veggie main option which was a little disappointing. Himself had the chicken wings and burger, which he devoured and loved. We added 2 soft drinks and one glass of wine to the bill, so with the offer it was reasonable. it was a late meal on a week night, so the atmosphere was quiet to non existent, but the service was prompt and polite. I think that its a reliable option, but pricey for a casual dining outlet.

i had tried the chicken wing here and gotta say it is so delicious. remember to ask for the special sauce in TGV because you really don want to miss it. the atmosphere is very special and unique but it might be a little bit noisy sometimes, but overall it is still very cool..highly recommend the food here, especially the chicken wings!!
