THE ORIENTAL CAFE is our latest venture, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland’s very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and tuck into some delicious Dim Sum or Roast Duck with home made Plum Chutney. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Cosmopolitan Tokyo cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin’s up and coming DJ’s.

Ate here as a group and all of use were very happy with the food we got. The service was quite good and the atmosphere was great. this really lives up to the standard of otehr Yamamori outfits. The Taste of the Oriental -Early Bird Menu with a drink for €20 is by far one of the best value meals around town. Great food, good beer etc.... Would really recomment this p[lace and then tot eh sister bar downstairs for sake afterwards!

The service here is always good and the oriental girls are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is better used as a lunch time destination than a night time restaurant. The lunch menu provides more choice and more value. If eating from the dinner menu at night go for the udon dishes under specials. Both are excellent and very filling. I chose Singapore noodles last time and it was only average. I was also hungry after finishing it.

So terribly dissapointing. we firstly got smoked out of it in the upstairs room as there was some issue with the kitchen ventilation and were made to stand downstairs for ten minutes when the smoke cleared. Then we had to move downstairs as the smoke was not clearing. They would not make our food fresh again as they said the 'woks are now off' so we had everythin microwaved. The food was not good to start with. then our waiter spilled a bottle of red wine on one of our party and there was no attempt to offer some form of compensation. On paying the bill they forgot to bring €30 change. it was a comedy of errors and i would suggest anybody hoping to go there and get good service and food please think again. very unhappy Dave
