2.0I was recommended this restaurant as somewhere good within walking distance of the nearby twelve hotel we were staying at. I checked their website before going and they claimed to be one of the finest seafood restaurants in Ireland so my hopes were high. It's pretty pokey and quaint and you feel like you're entering a fisherman's cottage. The winelist is ok, quite safe and I found myself searching through the food menu for the seafood I had heard so much about. It's strange that most of the seafood lives on the starters menu, in fact all of it on the a la carte menu as the only seafood option on the main courses was a bigger portion of the same mussels on the starter menu. I thought that there must be lots of specials available based on what was caught that day but it must have been a slow day on the high seas because there were just 2 specials which were not special enough for me to recall what they involved. This place is very pricey for what it is and I wouldn't go back based on the sheer number of similar yet better and cheaper seafood joints in the area.

5.0We ate here on a Sunday evening. We'd popped in for lunch the day before and it was so good that we booked a table for the following night. This place is so pretty and we sat upstairs looking out over an angry sea, all warm and snug inside. There is plenty of choice on the menu for both fish and non-fish eaters. We were served some delicious bread by our lovely waitress. To start I had the deep fried brie and my parter had some kind of crab dish. Both excellent! For mains I had the duo of brill and sea-bass and himself had the king scallops on shrimp risotto. Both cooked to perfection and delicious. We shared a dessert of a cold raspberry souffle with our coffees. Again it was perfect. This place is quite pricey but the location, service and food all make it worthwhile. I would highly recommend it.

5.0The setting is exceptional, the decor cosy & comfie. The staff, friendly & helpful. The food was absolutely beautiful. I had the crab starter followed by a prawn & crab salad....Mmmmmm
My friend had a tuna steak cooked rare as requested. We forced ourselves to have dessert (for research purposes you know lol). Both were beautiful, We had the vanilla ice cream rolled in toasted crushed nuts & the dark & white chocolate terrine. Expensive but you get what you pay for!

4.0Cripplingly expensive (for my pocket at any rate), but one of the finest meals I have eaten in a long time. Really well cooked fresh seafood - the turbut on pea and potato mash was awe-inspiring and the scallops were perfect. The location is stunning and the interior is best described as intimate! I had no complaints about the service, maybe I was lucky. I'll be going back when I'm richer.

2.5Very poor value for money and disappointed with level of service. The meet and greet policy in the restaurant was very poor on the evening in question for this standard of restaurant. The seafood was mediocre, the staff were hassled and under pressure, and the portions were small. Overall we had a very disappointing evening and came out disheartened after parting with our hard earned cash! There are so many other nicer restaurants in Galway for half the price!

2.0Poor value for Money! my meal was tasty - the only problem being there was not enough of it!!! (Unfortunately the prices do not seem to reflect the scarcity of food!!) Service was also poor! Very disappointing experience overall. What I had come to regard as a good quality restaurant and an enjoyable dining experience has certainly appeared to have taken a dive with the economy!! I will not be returning!!!

2.0The staff were very unhelpful, the food was very nice but portions were extremly extremly small.we asked the "staff" for more veg & they never returned. we expressed our complaints & recieved no apology or no recognition at all. the food was far over priced and the restaurant is very and extremely over rated . Looking for a decent meal or at least helpful wait staff?? definitely do not look for this in O'Gradys ,u will be sadly dissapointed.has anyone had the same experience? left the retaurant hungry and very annoyed!there are plenty of decent restaurants in galway not to have to suffer this!
