The Quays Irish Restaurant, Temple Bar

Situated in the heart of Dublin, in the middle of the famous Temple Bar, that has preserved its medieval street pattern with many narrow cobbled street and has a lively nightlife that is popular with tourists is The Quays Restaurant. So if you're thinking of having a party (of any kind) this year why not come and try our traditional Irish food like Irish Stew, Dubliner Coddle or our fantastic Lamb Shank, while having a bit of "craic agus ceol" with the live music and staff who love a laugh and joke while serving the fine food and great selection of wines. The Quays Restaurant offers a warm bar area to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink, tea, coffee and snacks. The menu can be flexible - you can choose any 3 starters, any 3 main courses and a dessert and we can fix you up with a set menu.

Had visitors from abroad and on their last night in Dublin they wanted to dine somewhere in Temple Bar. The Quays is in the centre of it all and great for tourists. The music is your standard irish trad, the place is made to look like an old fashioned pub. The service is friendly and superefficient, it appeared to me as if great effort had been put in to training the staff, to all have a standard norm of service, to be polite, friendly but not too familiar, to know the menu and be able to get people to order quickly eat quickly and get out quickly so they can get more people in!!! Bit conveyor belt like.... I had the chicken burger, my guests had the stew, the fish and chips and the mussels and seafood chowder. My cajun chicken burger was very tasty. I also had some of the stew and it was delicious. Also tried mussel, also very good. We were a tad upset by 10% service charge added on top of the food that was dear to start with, I didn't see this extra charge mentioned anywhere on the menu, nor explained to us by the staff. But I will probably return here another time, with another set of visitors.

Visited Quays for the first time yesterday and was very impressed.. Very friendly staff and lovely warm relaxed atmosphere helped by the traditional Irish music playing in the background. We had the chicken wings to share for starters (plenty for 2) and they were so tasty!! We both ordered Surf n Turf for mains, which came with chips and a nice garlic/butter drizzle and sun dried tomatoes. Both the red and white house wines were excellent and the profitteroles were perfectly light after such a big main course. I would highly recommend a visit to Quays for an atmospheric meal in the heart of Dublin City.
