I've been inside for a sit-down meal a few times, but I've not been impressed. Neither with the food or the atmosphere. Perhaps it's me :-/ I really should give it another go and let you know! Anyhow, I'm a regular collector of take away pizza from their take-away door beside the main restaurant. Their plain pizzas are really very good. I never get anything toppings on pizzas, and prefer to add my own when I get home - chorizo, chipotle chilli etc.. I'ts bizzare that I simply love these pizzas from Ravellos, as it's the same kitchen, the same chefs as the sit-in restaurant?!? I was even disappointed with the tiramisu, it was a bought in cake, and I would have thought it would have been homemade by the Italians in the kitchen!!?

This was my first time to eat in Ravellos and I was very impressed. The food was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices were very reasonable. I had lamb cutlets for my main course which were delicious and I was offered a choice of sauces to accompany them. Others in our group had chicken dishes and pizzas and they were all well satisfied. The tiramasu dessert was delicious. If I had any issues at all it would be that there were very few dessert choices on offer. Just three which I thought strange when compared to the large number of starters and mains to choose from. All in all a very pleasant experience at a great price, €115 for four adults and two children including a bottle of wine and some soft drinks.

This was my first time here. I tried it on the strength of the advertised menu for the special. When you get the menu most of the items on it carried a supplement if you were having the set price meal. We found 1 maybe 2 choices that weren't charging a supplement in each section i.e.2 pastas, 2 pizzas etc. I felt this was very misleading. That said however we managed to order food that didn't attract the additional charge and it was very tasty. Service was good. I felt overall that I would definitely vome back again now that I know about the way they structure the menu,

I've been to this restaurant many times over the past few years. The food is always the same great standard! The last time i ate here I got the spaghetti bolognese and my boyfriend got the carbanara. My spaghetti was lvoely but they did change the pasta over the past few months and as i'm a regular i wasn't expecting this and i didn't find it as nice as the old pasta. The portions are huge and the service is great i'd definitely go back!

I love the Pizza here and always get the same one Pineapple and Rocket, husband always gets same pasta chicken and mushroom. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, service excecllent and I have to say it's one of my favourites, so i'll keep returning here.

Myself and my partner are regular customers. This is an excellent restaurant with pleasant staff - the food quality is superb, the service outstanding, the decor has a real italian feel. If you are looking for excellent food! Value for Money! Fab surroundings and service with a smile then you must visit this restaurant (I guarantee you'll become a regular just like me!) :-) I will most definitely be back in the very near future ...am looking forward to it already!! Two 4 Courses with half bottle of red €65 now that's value for money...

Just back from an early bird here. Boyfriend and I both had the garlic mushrooms to start with. No complaints, the mushrooms were lovely and juicy. For mains, I had chicken and mushroom fusilli which was gorgeous, the pasta definitely tasted like fresh pasta. My boyfriend had the penne arrabiata which again was beautiful. I had ice-cream for dessert. Often times restaurants are a bit lazy with ice-cream but this tasted like home made ice-cream. My boyfriend had the cheesecake which was lovely and light. All and all, for €17.95 each with tea and coffee, you can't go wrong. Portion sizes were spot on, the food was hot and seemed to consist of fresh ingredients and the service was prompt. We will have no hesitation in returning.

im have been to Ravellos several times and i cant complain about anything. The service is great, very friendly and not to rushed. Having spent a few weeks in Italy last year i would definitly say from experience that the food is authentic. The place has a real italien feel to it. The food has always been great and even the early bird is plenty filling. i would go back there again and again without a doubt. I have to say the lasagne in particular is to die for. i feel in love with the authentic italien lasagne while in italy and have to say theirs is just as good.

We've been here a couple of times, always with our two kids. We had thought the menu was on the dear side for the a la carte, so when we heard about the "Early Bird", we said we'd give it another go. It's a real case of "you get what you pay for": little choice, small portions, poor taste. After a tiny starter, I had pasta carbonara, and can honestly say Dolmio does better! One of our kids had a pizza which was good, the other had bolognaise, which was just passable, but a let-down for a supposedly authentic Italian restaurant. I usually like to get a good coffee in an Italian restaurant, but the quality was not there - acidic coffee with a burnt after-taste. The waiters are friendly and attentive and the place has potential. Please improve your food and coffee as the service and surroundings are quite good!

We ate here a few years ago, just after it opened and had an abysmal meal. We were stuck recently for somewhere local to eat and, with two young kids in tow, decided that enough years had passed for us to give Ravello's another shot. It was a mistake. The food is bland, unimaginative and poorly presented. Yes, it serves pasta dishes, but that's where the Italian connection with food begins and ends. I have honestly had more exciting meals out of a supermarket bought sauce. The service was very good and the staff are exceptionally friendly. It seems to be a very child-friendly restaurant and that's always a good thing. Unfortunately though the main aspect that they fall down in is the one that matters most; food. Perhaps they get good reviews for their meat 'n veg kind of meals. Having never ordered that part of their menu maybe I'm missing a hidden gem. As I won't be going back I'll never know.

A very nice restaurant, very helpful and good value for money. We were recently let down on a booking at a local Blanchardstown restaurant and went to Ravellos on spec hoping they had space. They did and we were pleased we ended up here rather than the original choice (which has been consigned to the dustbin).

Evening special of 4 course at €16.75 - unbeatable! Myself and friend indulged in wonderful starter of garlic mushrooms, main course "Chef's Special" Creamy pasta and desserts of Tiramisu and Ice-cream, with cool glass of white wine each (€4.50 per glass) and finished with coffee. Restaurant busy, service excellent, athmosphere relaxed! Highly recommended!

Myself, my partner and our son went to Ravellos on Saturday evening. We LOVE this place. Even on a Saturday, Ravellos offer the early bird special @ €16.95 for 3 courses plus tea/coffee! I had the cesar salad with chicken to start (so did my partner) which was divine. My son had the mozerella sticks which he liked too. For my main, I had pizza with spinach and sundried tomatoes. Ravellos make the freshest best pizza. My son also had pizza and my partner had penne bolognese and said it was really nice. For dessert the two of them had ice cream and I had the tirimisu. It tasted home-made and was superb. Ravellos never disappoints and the staff are all so friendly and nice. Would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff are great with kids as well.

If you want to go to an Italian restaurant in Dublin and eat like you would in an Italian restaurant in Italy, then Ravello is not for you. But if you want to eat as you would in an Italian family, "like mama used to make," simple and fresh stuff, then I recommend it. The penne bolognese, were just like an Italian mom would cook, and the pizza tastes like pizza. The early bird is 17€ for 3 courses, also on Saturdays and Sundays. Totally worth it.

I have been here many times before and again I was not disappointed with the service or the food or the value for money we got.We ordered the set meal for 3 and it was excellent value for money. Good idea for Saturday evening but watch out! Great food, nice friendly atmosphere but watch out when you are paying. We have decided for Christmas Menu and told the waitress what we exactly want. But when it came to the bill we had to pay standard fare as we were told that the waitress was not aware that we are ordering from Christmas Offer. We were around 15-20 euro back. Situation like this has happened twice to us, so even that is really nice place to eat I cannot give it the best rate.

Inpromptu visit on a Monday night, unfortunately for them we were the only diners that night - great for us. The food and service were excellent, they brought over an extra heater as it was a cold night and the complimentary limoncello was a nice touch. This place is spotless, something I know my mother used to judge her restaurants by, but this is in addition to an appreciation of their customers, which is what a lot of Dublin restaurants should remember. Will definitely go back.

Have had early bird here on a few occasions on Friday evenings.Last time I was there I opted for Caesar salad for starters and grilled chicken with mushroom sauce for mains. My other half had minestrone soup for starters and lasagne for mains. Caesar was ok. Sauce was not really Caesar, more mayonnaise. Had tomatoes and no croutons or bacon so should really just be called salad. Wasn't terrible, just not great. Loads of it though. Mains was nice piece of chicken with creamy mushroom sauce, accompanied by salad and chips. Very nice and filling. Soup was pleasant. Good hearty minestrone and lasagne also v nice. Service was v pleasant and staff couldn't be nicer. All in all superb value for €41 excl tip. V handy for local people who want to go for bite after getting off train rather than having to go home and cook.

The restaurant is very reasonable, and staff very friendly, however food is not amazing- just ok. Some dishes are nice- the lasagne is good, but others quite mediocre. The Early Bird menu is good value, although I was disappointed that when I went one evening for quick meal, and wasn´t going to have desserts or coffee, they wouldn´t offer single glass of wine instead. Overall, handy place to go if you are hungry, but certainly not would not be my choice if I wanted a special dinner out.

I go here quite often and I can never fault it. Food is always of great quality and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the cannelloni for main course as it is the nicest cannelloni I've ever had. The early bird special is great value and worth a visit.

Being Italian I am very picky with so called Italian restaurants. Although the service is professional and the atmosphere inviting enough, food is all but proper Italian. For starters we had mozzarella in carrozza, which were good but the chef dip that comes with them was disgusting! My main was cannelloni: they were all right but nothing to shout about and definitely not made according to the Italian tradition. Not particularly impressed.

I eat here once ever two weeks or so, why? because the food is always really good, the service is great and they leave just enough time between courses. They will cater for special dietry requirements or allergies which I sometime find problem but not here. It's one of my favourites and the early bird menu available till 7 most days is great value.

A great little find in dreary Clonsilla. The area is crying out for a good value resto and this is it! Two excellent Italian traditional waiters serve up good quality and great value food. Both pastas and pizzas are good. I visit this resto regularly and enjoy the free shot of Limoncello at the end of every meal!!

We ate here last night and it was really nice, the menu was very varied and the portions generous. I had the calamari for starters which is the best I've had in a long time, it was cooked to perfection and served with tartare sauce, my companion had the prawns and enjoyed them also. We stuck to Italian fayre for the mains with pizza and lasagne, again very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the bill reasonable, I'll definitely go here again soon.

I ate here last night (12/09/07) and was appalled by the food we were served. I've eaten here a number of times before & always though that pizza was the best option to go for. Last night I decided to break tradition and go with Bruschetta to start and a fish dish - monkfish - for my main. I make a better, more authentic Bruschetta myself. They didn't even use the correct bread! When I was served my fish I was a bit taken aback. The presentation was terrible and the taste...well it was overdone and certainly not fresh fish. I asked our waiter whether the fish was in fact fresh and he confirmed my suspicions. They charge €24 for this FROZEN fish! I will not be eating at this restaurant again and would advise others to avoid it too.

I ate in Ravellos recently after moving into the area I ordered bruschetta with parma ham I thought it unusual that parma would be present but decided to give it a whirl my bruschetta was smothered in cheese and had a rasher in it... otherwise the meal was fine?? I wouldn’t mind going back but am wary?

Was here last Friday night (7th of August) with my husband, brother in law and his wife. We all really enjoyed our night (have been here in the past and also enjoyed). Food was really nice except for 2 small areas. I ordered the monkfish main course, which was overdone/dry, what saved it, was the sauce that accompanied it. My brother in laws main course - lamb on the other hand was under cooked. So a bit of a timing issue in the kitchen I think! We had the full 3 courses each and besides the above the food was fab and service excellent. We will go back!

This restaurant is consistently good. As far as a local Italian restaurant goes, this is top notch. The food is very tasty, well presented, and the menu caters for everyone. The staff are excellent in particular the wine waiter. They sometimes have live music of a weekend, and there is always a great buzz in the place. I would thoroughly recommend it.

I eat here from time to time. While the service and value are good, the menu is limited and has been the same for the last 4 years. I can cook a better Italian meal. The sauces are all the same. The egg in the carbonara can be curdled. Its ok but needs some authenticity and variety. Staff are lovely ...pity the food is not as good!

I regularly eat in Ravellos and am always happy leaving there with no complaints. Food is very reasonably priced and tasty and a good selection to choose from for everybody on the menu. The early bird from 5-7 weekdays is fabulous, staters, main, dessert and tea or coffee for 16.95. Can’t go wrong sure beats cooking after a hard workday midweek would recommend it enjoy!

First time to eat here and was very impressed by it. Reasonably priced and very family friendly. Staff went out of their way to cater for the kids. I had the lasagne, which I found very tasty and would recommend their house white Chilean wine to anyone who goes.

I have eaten at Ravellos about 5 times now and never once has the quality of food ever been better than a 1. In fact, the food is so poor, bland and tasteless that I swear I will never eat there again. I went for the mozz cubes a couple of times as starter and I swear it’s a freezer job and the sauce that’s supplied with it!!!! Well I don’t know what that is, looks like a tomato type sauce but it could be anything really as its so tasteless. I have tried a number of different mains but the worst by far was the cannelloni. It was literally dry, no sauce what’s so ever, it actually upsets me thinking about it. However, while the food is of the lowest standard I have ever eaten the atmosphere can be pretty good. They have a musician on (I think) a Saturday who plays guitar, which was good. If memory serves the bill was something of a disappointment as well. Food was over priced especially considering that most of the food was probably bought in a supermarket, I would be surprised if anything is freshly made.

Went here yesterday with my husband and daughter and initial impressions were ok but went downhill after that. The decor is not too bad and we were there for the early bird option, which looks like very good value - I am just not sure about the quality of the food. I had the crostini to start, which was fine, probably lacking a bit of flavour but ok. My husband had mozzarella deep-fried but it was straight from the freezer and served with a bland tomato sauce. I had tortellini with chicken and mushroom for main but the chicken was from a roast chicken which was a bit strange, otherwise flavour ok. Hubby had pizza with 2 toppings - this was prob best part of meal - definitely pizza is better than pasta here. My daughter had meatballs which tasted as if they came from a can and the sauce was same bland sauce served with the mozzarella - more like a passata than a flavoursome tomato sauce - she left most of it. Desserts were strawberry cheesecake (ok - bit like angel delight) and ice cream - (very nice). The early bird is very cheap for the 3 courses plus tea or coffee - 16.95, but I wouldn’t go again as I didn’t rate the quality of the food and both hubby and myself had serious indigestion afterwards which is usually not the case after a really fresh Italian - think it was the greasy mozzarella that did it! Service was nice and friendly, but really wish Italian restaurants would just leave the pepper and Parmesan on the table - what’s the big deal!?

We were at Ravellos this week for dinner. There were nine of us, including three children, and we were really satisfied with both the service and food. We have been there a few times and never have had a bad meal. The waiters were very attentive and looked after the children very well. Good value for money too.

Not a great Italian restaurant. Smells strongly of chips (and grease). Not very cozy, and the food was just alright. Won't return here and wouldn't recommend it either.

Great little Italian restaurant. Third time having family Sunday lunch there..€17 set menu very good value...but the Chef's Specials are also great and worth that little bit extra. I had lovely lamb chops Italian style and my son a fiery chicken "al forno" starter. Great Italian staff and the free limoncello or sambucca are always welcome after the good coffee. The menu, quality of food, service, atmosphere and value are far superior to other restaurants in the area. I will be back to Ravellos again...many times I hope!

Love Ravellos, great food, service and atmosphere. Staff are always very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They recommend different dishes off the menu, and bring over a complimentary shot of Sambuca after your meal. The menu is large and varied, and on my many visits I've never had a bad meal. The early bird and lunch menus are unbelievable value. On our last visit, a Sunday afternoon around 5pm, two starters, two mains, two desserts, and tea and coffee came to less than €40! The food & service mean that we will definitely keep returning

This is my favourite restaurant. There's a great menu with superb value for money, the staff are wonderful and have that personal touch as they do remember you. It's a nice relaxed restaurant where you can take your time over your meal. It's been a hit with everyone I’ve brought here.
