4.5 The Park Restaurant 4.5 star review:
Myself & my wife opted for the wine & dine. €59 for a bottle of wine with 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts and tea or coffee. Excellent value. The background music was blues/swing/jazz and was excellent. I had goats cheese creme brulee starter. It was exquisite. My wife had chicken & mango salad which she said was excellent. I had chargrilled steak with veg and my wife had fillet of hake. Both were very good. Desserts were chocolate brownie with ice cream and creme fraiche and a rhubarb and ginger cheesecake with vodka shot with rhubarb juice. Both excellent. The food was some of the best we have had and was great value with a lovely house white wine. Our server for most of the meal, while pleasant, twice spilled water and coffee. I had to mop up the water and while he replaced the saucer with the coffee spill, he left the table unwiped with coffee spills which I again had to clean. Overall it was worth the visit and we will return.

4.3 The Park Restaurant 4.3 star review:
This restaurant oozes class. We've eaten here several times and the food has always been really good and I like their presentation. It's not quite as cheap as other local restaurants but you get what you pay for. It's in Castleknock hotel right at the back so you could easily miss it which would be a shame. If you're a bit more price sensitive which we often are, the early bird is a good menu especially if you're not drinking while the wine and dine is a better option if you are. Particularly nice for a family occasion we find.

We ate here on a wine and dine deal and expectations of a hotel restaurant were not that high. We were really surprised. The starters of which we had the piri piri chicken adn the pear and gorginzola salad were fine if a bit minimal. But a decent start. We ordered a bootle of chilian sauv balnc which was v drinkable and part of the deal. For mains we had the sirloin steak and the fillet medallions. Both steaks were cooked as requested and both arrived promptly and had nice acompanying vegtables ( which were hot) and we also ordered some fries. The portions were plentiful and the staff were attentive without being intrusive.
Dessert we both had chocolate fondant which had a 15 min wait but was well worth it as we let our steaks go down with the wine. The staff gave us our tea and coffee in the interim which nicely spaced it out.
Overall we were very happy with the wine and dine and would be tempted to go back again. The hotel feels like you are inthe middle of no where but in fact only took us 20 mins to get back to central dublin by car. I would def recommend it to others in the future. The quality of the steaks the desserts, and the wine make this well worth the price but the starters could do with a little work.

I thought this place was more of a joke than a hotel, the food was below average and the service was the worst iv ever had. I would think that a hotel would employ professional waiters and staff but this place does not. The staff was extremely rude and late with our food with any explanation. When I asked for extra sauce as my food was so late it had dried up the girl roled her eyes and almost stormed off to get it. The food when we got it was nice but I would prefer not to go back due to the poor service and rude employees.

Tried the wine and dine menu for 59 on friday night. choice of 3 starters, mains and deserts incl bottle of good south african wine. shared the mussel starter and it was only ok.i ordered the medallions of beef for a surcharge and opted for medium rare. when they arrived they were more or less cooked through but still juicy.hubby ordered sirloin, medium rare which was cooked to his liking. i ordered icecream selection for desert which was served in a nice brandy basket. hubby ordered creme brulee, which was still not set when it arrived on the table. it was replaced promptly with a chocolate parfait which was full of ice lumps! tea/coffee was never offered even though it was on the menu. food was ok/good for the price but still room for improvement

I ate here over the Bank Holiday weekend and it was fabulous. I had the prawns to start which were cooked to perfection, followed by the Seabass. The seabass was tasty and flavoursome but far too much on the plate to finish so the portions here are very good and you will not leave hungry. My partner had the soup to start and sirloin steak to follow, the steak was cooked to his taste and served with plenty of sides of veg and potato.
The staff were very friendly and most helpful with recommendations from the menu. We were served with a smile all evening and made to feel most welcome. The restaurant itself is spacious and you feel you can have a private conversation without the table next to you being close enough to over hear. I think it was very good value for money in these recessionary times.
I would recommend this restaurant in a hear beat and I am looking forward to returning very soon.

I dined at the Park again last weekend. I ate here before and promised myself I would go back. The Seabass was just FAB! It was recommended by the waiter and he was spot on. I was delighted to see since my last visit that they had made some subtle but very effective additions. In the current climate, the soft furnishings added although inexpensive, work a treat. And with a great new wine list, your choices are endless. I was chatting to a colleague about this place and she was raving about it too. When she told me it won an AA Rosette I was amazed. only ONE!!! This place is definitely 5 star in my book

Stayed at this hotel last weekend with my partner and ate at the Park Restaurant one of the nights. Food was great. I had the bruschetta to start, which had an unusual flavour/presentation but was very nice. My main course of seabass was without a doubt the nicest fish i have ever had in my life! Was very tempted to just order another one even though i was stuffed..opted for a yummy sorbet dessert in the end though! On the downside, the atmosphere is a tad stuffy, and it took ages for the waitress to take our orders and then to bring us a bottle of wine. Though to be fair the food was served very quickly. And it is a bit more than i'd usually pay...so perhaps its better for a special occasion or if your staying in the hotel. Though the food is just so good i cant stop writing..

I am from the local area originally and a friend of mine recommended this restaurant which is located in Castleknock Hotel & Country Club. I had heard bad reviews of the restaurant in recent years but apparently they have a new management team and chef, so myself and my girlfriend decided to try it out.
They had a very good deal for accommodation so we decided to stay and make a night of it rather than get a taxi home.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of the restaurant. It's a very impressive room, very elegant room with a great ambience. It's quite romantic. The service was very good but nothing in the place compares to the standard of the food. It is simply EXQUISITE! I had the T-Bone Steak and my girlfriend had the seabass, which she described as the best she had had in recent memory. It's not the cheapest restaurant but I think it's perfect for that special occasion.
One small thing would be that the restaurant is a bit hidden towards the back of the hotel so you might have to ask reception to find it, but on the other hand, they have a lovely uplighting effect outside the window and you are looking out on the golf course and a lake
All in all, a cracking little restaurant, understated and a really little gem! I recommend it.
