The Porterhouse (Parliament Street) Reviews
0.0.0I never write these reviews but I just experienced literally the rudest most offensive waiter ever to surface. We were almost an hour waiting for the wrong order to be delivered to the table and when we advised the waiter that he had gotten two orders wrong, he was rude and even went so far as insisting that the customer is not always right and he had written down the order exactly as we had said it. The fact of the matter was my colleague and I had ordered the exact same lunch and the other 4 people at the table can testify to what we ordered, however the waiter still insisted he was right.
When we spoke to the manager who we had already noted when ordering drinks due to his snail like progress in delivering on drinks orders, he smiled inanely whilst noting he knows our faces from being regulars at the premises and would shout us both a free lunch next time we were in. This would have been fine only for the disingenuous delivery of his speech and also the fact we hardly ever frequent the porterhouse and I can sincerely add we most certainly won’t be doing so again.
If you like craft beer then happy days enjoy the range available but excuse the poor bar service If Mr Incompetent of the year Sir Bar Manager is serving. However, if you are contemplating eating there, then my advice would be to walk on by.

3.0I was here with a few friends I like the Porterhouse in Temple Bar for a few drinks. I was here for food at Christmas and wasnt impressed with the burger but I was hungry and said I would this the food the benefit of the doubt this time. The service was a little slow and the orders were wrong one of my friends got a half Caesar Salad instead of a full and another girl got a wrong drink, I ordered the Porterhouse Pie but they didnt have any so I went with the pasta instead. It was just ok for €11 I would have expected more flavour, the chicken was bland and bacon fatty with a watery cream pasta sauce. I just ate the pasta, some bacon and the mushrooms. I like Porterhouse for the night as the beers are good but wouldnt rush back for the food.

3.0I stopped into the Porterhouse for a late lunch, to sample their Oktoberfest. I had Bratkartoffeln, a tub of roast potatoes, bacon and grilled onion, and a Bratwurst. Whilst filling, these weren't as tasty as what I'm used to from the Porterhouse. The Bratkartoffeln was quite bland, the bacon being overdone and the potatoes under-seasoned. My Bratwurst could have done with more, or stronger, mustard. As I was finished work, and on my way home, I had an Hersbruker Oktoberfest seasonal beer, brewed by the Porterhouse Brewing Company, and this was excellent.

3.0I brought my parents here while they were in town on a week visit. They don't drink, but I insisted that we could go here - with lively music, over 200 different beers on tap and good food they surely could find something of interest.
Despite their protests about going to a "pub", they had a great time, enjoyed both the food (the ham sandwich and soup is enormous) for the value - you don't go away hungry - that's for certain. I even managed to get them to try a few of the beers on tap, with their favourite being the locally brewed strawberry beer.

5.0I had 2 friends visiting from overseas and they wanted good Irish pub food so we came here and we weren't disappointed! We had 3 mains and one dessert and all the dishes were very tasty, we all cleaned our plates. We sampled some of the fruit beers and some of their own brewed beers and all of them were very good, especially the fruit beers. There was a great atmosphere in the pub and the service was very good. We got seats at the window so we had prime viewing of both the pub and outside. I would definitely recommend!

3.0This is the original Porterhouse, there is an amazing array of beers on offer and the pub menu is pretty comprehensive. A lot of what is on offer is modern but traditional Irish cuisine!!! Good portabello mushroom burger and chunky chips.

5.0I love coming here for food and few drinks. The atmosphere is always great. Food is your standard pub grub but it's top quality.
