I purchased a Menupages deal for this place some time ago. We had booked to go a couple of months ago and then my wife fell pregnant and had to cancel as she was not up to eating Thai food. If you know anything about the first trimester you will know why. I noticed on the 11th that the voucher was about to expire on the 15th so booked for the Sunday evening. My wife took ill again and we tried to use the voucher for take away instead. No joy there so it had to be the Tuesday 15th as they close on Mondays. We went around at 5.30pm after picking up our 17 month old daughter from crèche. There were already 4 or 5 tables occupied at that time and a few children around. The staff explained the voucher system to us and we ordered. To start, I went for the chicken saty skewers and my wife had the breaded prawns. Both were ample portions and very fresh and tasty. Our daughter loved both!!. For mains I went for the Red Chicken curry and my wife had the veg massaman. All three of us enjoyed them immensely. The seasoning and heat were pitched just right. The staff and service were first class and very child friendly. We will defiantly eat here again. Even without the voucher they have a very reasonable early bird menu.

We used up our last menupages voucher - I think we have been about 4 times since the new year. The food as always was great, no problem getting extra proper prawn crackers! Service is always good and friendly. Next time we wil ltake the children - hadn't thought to but they were really friendly to other parties with small children. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Sawadee.

What can I say. The fact that we have been there 3 times in last 2 months speaks volumes. Atmosphere very nice. Last time was a Thursday night and it was 75% full. Therefore there was a nice buzz about the place. Food was lovely. Some of the food here would be too hot for my taste but following discussion with staff - they modified some of the hotter dishes for me. This gave me a greater choice to choose from. Service - as you can even see from above comment - Staff were extremely helpful. Service was top notch. When we asked them to leave us some time between courses - they did just that. This meant - that we had a lovely leisurely night. The value was great - as we had a Menupages voucher. However, there is also great value early bird here. For the price we paid - the food, service and ambience was unbelievable. We will be back. Our overall rating has to be 5* Pauline

Atmosphere: Not the most romantic of venues but comfortable and relaxing all the same.In saying that it was early in the evening when we ate and they may lite candles on the tables later in the evening. Food: Is very good and well presented. Service: Is excellent, the staff are very attentive and very friendly. They make the dinning experience worthwhile. Value: It is very reasonable. We ordered Green Veg Curry. This was delicous with unexpected pieces of pineapple to supprise the taste buds. Also Number 29 off their menu. It is considered very very spicy, but on request it was toned down.Which resulted in it all being eaten Oh the starter was the start for two, it arrived with spicy, coconut milk and honey side sauces,It did last long on the plate :) It was very good.

Just in from our 'voucher visit' to this gem of a restaurant in Terenure. We had a great experience. The food was top notch, I had the duck with chilli coconut, my wife had a green chicken curry. The best duck I have ever had and so so much. Extremely generous with the portion. The service was superb, plenty of staff, your glass of water was never empty. We will be back asap (took note of their early bird deal which is almost as good as the menupages voucher deal).

We go to sawedee anually for a girls dinner, and it never fails to disappoint. We tend to order a mixture of dishes and share, and havent found any yet I don't like. Chicken and Cashew Nuts and the Currys are among my favorites. Always a good atmosphere and accomodating staff. Will definately be back again.

Ate here tonight having heard a rave review from a friend of ours who is also a foodie. We bought the Menupages deal lately but just happened to be driving by this evening and said we'd try it out as we had been outdoors all day and were absolutely ravenous. What a mistake. First of all, it is a Tuesday night and there were two tables occupied in the place. The waiter who greeted us, if that is the right term, asked if we had a booking and then asked if we had bought a voucher. We said that we had bought a voucher but that we had a problem with our printer so hadn't printed it out. He said he needed paper, which wasn't a problem as we weren't looking to use the voucher anyway. He led us to our table and stated that we should have made a booking. I said that we hadn't thought we'd need to on a Tuesday night and that this was obviously the case as we were only the third table of guests there. We ordered main courses only. I ordered a seafood noodle dish which included two prawns, one mussel, two small crab claws and three pieces of squid. All of the seafood was overcooked. The squid was unbearably tough - so much so that it made me gag and I had to go to the bathroom. My partner had a noodle dish that included prawns and chicken - there was plenty of both, unlike my dish which was seriously lacking in seafood. But where my dish was spicy and had flavour, my partner's dish was bland. When it was time to pay, I said that I had been extremely disappointed with my dish - that there was very little seafood and that the squid was incredibly tough. I had paid in full at this point so I was clearly not looking for a discount or a "freebie". The waiter told me that there had never been a problem with the squid before, that the squid had only come in last week, that he would tell the chef but that nothing would happen as there wasn't a problem for anyone else. He also looked at my partner as if he wanted to kill him and stated that he had asked if everything was ok while I was gone to the bathroom. My partner stated that this wa

Myself and my fiance had dinner here Friday booked with the menu pages voucher. The food was gorgeous, very tasty and the service was brilliant, I would have liked my food to be a little hotter temperature wise but that is only a minor thing. The waiters were all lovely and chatty and made our visit really enjoyable. The only negative is that we were seated upstairs in the restaurant where there was only one other couple so it was very quite and no atmosphere, I think all of the menu pages people were seated up there and I couldnt understand it because there was some empty tables downstairs when we arrived. However when leaving you got a card to collect a stamp each time you visited giving you a discount for the next time so that was a great idea, we will definately be back.

We nad no reservation and were too late for the early bird menu and so ordered only main courses. Both both (jumbo prawns and ginger monkfish) were delicious. Service was attentive. Next time I'll make a reservation.

The Tom Kha soup was really special here probably one of the best I've tried around. The main courses werent as spectacular but nice enough. The service was very attentive but sometimes this a bit too much as the waiters were interrupting our conversations asking too much about how everything was. I think it is good to have that they show they care about the customer but it can get overbearing and break up the flow of your dinner, particularly if you are there as a couple. We were asked so often that it became a negative thing rather than positive! But overall the food was nice,I think we expected a bit more finesse for the price though.

Went here for the early bird on a Fri - finishes at 7pm at the w/e, 7.30pm during the week. The food was nice but not a great choice - the a la carte has a much broader range to choose from. We both had the chicken satay to start which comes with the traditional satay sauce and an extra sweet chilli sauce. Very tasty but not a massive portion - the early bird starter portion may be smaller. For mains we both had the thai red curry with chicken. It was on the menu as mild but had a nice kick off it - just the way I like it. The chicken came with bamboo shoots and green beans in the sauce. The service was good, we were worried we may get too much attention as there were 8 floor/door staff but only about 8 customers, I think they were expecting a bigger crowd, but they didn't overdo the checking up on us. We've had take-away from here before too - highly recommend it.

Ate here with two girl friends on Wednesday night. We all ordered off the early bird menu which was great value. I got the spring rolls and a chilli beef dish to follow, both really tasty. Service was great as they let us sit and relax and chat after dinner without continuely asking if we were okay. Only downside was it wasn't that busy as this would have helped the atmosphere. This is a shame as Sawadee is a lovely cosy restaurant and serves really nice food. Will deffo return.

Returned here with 3 friends. Weekend Early Bird €21.95 for 2 courses which we all chose as it had a great selection. We opted for spring rolls, samosas, satay chicken & deep fried shrimps as starters. All delicious and we shared so got to taste everything. Same with main courses - tried a bit of each other's and again very happy. Had 3 bottles of the House Spanish chardonnay which we obviously liked (it was Fri after all). Bill €160 for the four of us which was great value considering 3 bottles of wine included in that. Staff lovely and service excellent. We would all recommend Sawadee.

It was almost exactly a year since our last visit to Sawadee Thai and for the second time we were there to celebrate the older son's birthday. There were seven of us (five adults and two children) and we were able to get an evening booking the previous day. The main feature of the evening was the chat and catching up with a friend who lives abroad. I can't remember what the others had, but I really enjoyed my crab cheese samosas followed by a coconut curry with duck. A couple of members of the group had pad Thai (we were able to bring the left-overs home with us) and I don't remember anyone complaining. I occasionally pass by Sawadee in the evenings and it has looked busier. The water reductions in Terenure are certainly taking their toll - we were unable to have plain tap water and there were warning signs on the lavatories. My husband found the service pleasant. I recently had a bad experience with their take-away service so was feeling more critical. We were a chatty group and it took us ages to even look at the menus, but the staff were patient. Five starters, seven main courses, four soft drinks, bottled water, a glass of wine and several beers came to approx €275.

Ate here yesterday, mid-week and a lot of reserved tables apparently, so I thought "that's a good sign", unfortunately that meant myself and my two companions we were squashed in the corner. Thankfully the food made up for all the elbow banging while trying to eat each of our dinner's, we had the starter selection and a portion of paper prawns, very tasty and the dips on the side were divine. Main courses we got chicken with cashew, prawn green curry and chicken with chillies & basil. My two companions loved all three dishes, how-ever I didn't enjoy the chicken with chillies & basil, I thought it had a disgusting aniseed taste, must be very strong thai basil! No dessert as we were stuffed to the gills so we got the bill, quite reasonable (ask for the loyalty card - they stamp this each time you eat there, this was our second time so we got 5% off the bill). Now as I said at the beginning, we had been told that a lot of the larger tables had been reserved, we were there from half 7 to half 9 and only one of these tables was filled, I was quite miffed by the fact that we were squashed in a corner when it looked to us as we were leaving that the other tables had been kept as a "just in case" larger groups than ours appeared, who knows, I could be wrong....

I was really pleaseantly surprised by the fab interior and food, so dont be put off by the 'shop like' exterior. We visited for the first time last night and we will be back. Make sure to have a look upstairs, it's the perfect setting for a loved up couple or family/friends meal. I love the overall decor, all dark browns and wood - straight lines and spotless. The food was so tasty. Our starters of Satay Chicken and duck spring rolls were accompanied by a couple of delicious dips. Great praise from my partner saying they were the best spring rolls ever. Mains of chicken noodles spicy, and boy were they spicy, but not OTT, and had a really interesting overall taste I find hard to describe. My sweet and sour chicken, I know this sounds strange but it had such a fab taste of sweet and then sour at the same time, we devoured both. The menu is great, really varied and we will be back. It's not a cheap eatery but the quality is good and the service was flawless.

This has now become my favorite Thai in dublin. We decided to visit the restaurant after a wonderful takeaway ordered by chance. The food is phenomenal and the service was excellent. I has the Seafood Salad to start - it was perfect, fresh seafood, of which there was a lot, and plenty of chilli! For main I had paenang curry which was great, but not as spicy as the takeaway one I had - its my only criticism. Following on from our successful visit, we ordered takeaway again this weekend, beef salad which was fantastic and then I decided to try their traditional Thai curry - so no coconut milk. It was so tasty and a great change from the normal curries offered. Keep up the good work Sawadee and we'll be back! P.S for anyone thinking of visiting, they are doing a sort of loyalty card scheme whereby you get a discount on your next meal

Went to Sawadee on the spur-of-the-moment at the weekend, and very glad that we did. The décor is modern and comfortable. Unlike so many Dublin restaurants, the tables are large and well-spaced, so you can have a private conservation and eat without brushing against the occupants of the next table. The set menu offers a good choice, but we opted for the a la carte menu. The staff were extremely polite and pleasant throughout the meal, and were attentive to dietary requirements and how spicy (or not) we wanted our food. The food itself was excellent - the meat and sea-food was of a high-quality, the sauces were tasty but not over-powering, and the portions were substantial. At €20 the house white wine was also surprisingly good. All in all, it was a pleasure to finally discover a great Thai restaurant in suburban Dublin, among the mediocre over-priced alternatives.

Visited Sawadee for the first time last night as it was the other halfs b'day. When you walk in lovely atmosphere but cant say why!! Staff straightaway very attentive but not overly so. We were given chilli prawn crackers while we waited on our food. I ordered a duck starter the other half had chicken satay- mine was served in bowl shredded it was nice but I was not sure how to eat it. The chicken satay looked lovely but I didnt get to taste any of it !!!! We usually share our starters but not last night which says it all for the chicken satay!!!!! For main we chose beef massaman curry medium and chicken penang which we were told was quite spicy. Both were delicious. I never usually have dessert as most time's they are the bought in ones but on the menu was grilled tropical fruit with icecream so I had to taste it it was gorgeous and the other half had cheescake and also my icecream. We finished with coffee and a happy feeling of being full. Wine also very well priced chose a house red syrah which was lovely also. We were asked on the way out what we thought of the our meal and our first visit which I thought was nice even through at the meal a few subtle questions were asked which showed they were interested in their clients opinions!!! Will defo be back!!!!Price very reasonable for quality of food and service supplied.

This restaurant has delicious food at really reasonable prices. Three of us went for the early bird menu, but on arriving realised there's a whole other deal which is even better value, the summer set menu, where you get a glass of wine included. This means more choices within that price range. Staff are very helpful and also you can adjust how spicy the dish is which is great. All the starters are delicious, especially the samosas. The drunken noodles are very spicy, so if you're not that way inclined make sure you order them medium. The seabass was delicious. The restaurant was quiet enough when we arrived but started filling up, pleasant atmosphere. Overall a great deal and will be going back.

Great Thai food in Terenure. Much better than any others I have tried in the area. They also do take-away which we order often and its always good. The tamarind duck is amazing. They have a new fixed price menu which is great value. Staff are friendly & the manager is really good.

My husband and I visit this area regularly, and look forward hugely to our meals at the Sawadee Thai . The food is by far the best Thai food we have ever tasted. We have tried most of the dishes, and are yet to find one we don't like! The meals are of a very high standard, bursting with flavour and freshness. The restaurant is down a side street, and is therefore often quiet, but if anything this adds to its uniqueness and character, and perhaps allows for the warm welcome and more personal service you are sure to receive. Recommended - all the curries!!!

we had always walked passed this place as from the outside it is not very appealing. But we decided to give it a chance, from the minute we stepped inside the door the customer serivce was outstanding. We were seated in the downstairs, and our waiter was very curteous. The food was fabulous and the service was aswell. We will definately be coming back, but next time we will be asking for the food to be a bit more spicy, as i think that they tone it down for us europeans and that would be the only down side. The watier said in the next visit to let them know and they will spice up the food to the normal standards.

Very disappointing experience in this restaurant. It came recommended from friends and colleagues so we decided to try it out. Service was attentive but our attempt to choose dishes from both the set and a la carte menus was not allowed. This meant we had to revisit the a la carte menu and choose alternative dishes to what we actually wanted. We're not sure what the issue was with us trying to mix and match, it didn't seem like a big deal to us anyway. The food was very poor. My wife had the Tom Yum soup to start which was pretty forgettable. I had Larb Ped which was a spicy duck salad served with lettuce which was not great at all. My wife's beef salad was terrible, and the noodles my seafood and noodle dish were so overcooked they were practically mushy. Won't be back.

Its a few years since I ate here and I was happy to see the food and service were up to the standards I remember. We had the 2 courses and a glass of wine or a beer for a reasonable €24.95 pp. Starters were Larb Gai chopped Chicken with chilli & lime on lettuce leaves and a selection of starter's which were fresh, tasty and spicy.Mains were Lamb Massaman Curry full of flavour and spicy enough and Duck Lemongrass again very tasty and hot enough with nice stir fried veg.We were there about 6pm and as we left about 9pm the restaurant was filling up. The service was attentive and friendly with water refilled regularly and checking to make sure our food was spicy enough. Overall a geat place for Thai food with good service.

Sawadee came highly recommeded but when we visited on a thursday night at about eight it was completely empty bar one other table. The atmosphere was more than a little dry but then the service was great. I ordered the masaman curry which had a nice bite although considering I asked for it with the maximum 3 chillis it could have been more. It was very tasty though. My friend had the pad thai which was nice but honestly a little dull. she felt it could have a stronger taste. However the meal was enjoyable and maybe because of how empty the place was we stayed for three hours over a glass or two of wine. On a busier night, i'd say the atmosphere would have been better, but best avoided mid week if you like a bit of life!!

When I ate here recently, I had the Pad Thai noodles. There was plenty of prawns in the dish and the portion was huge. The noodles were quite tasty, but not the tastiest Pad Thai that I've had. They were quite stodgy. I was seated downstairs in the restaurant and felt that the tables could have been placed slightly further apart. The staff were attentive but not particularly friendly. They seemed to be slightly disinterested. Not the best culinary experience, but passable.

Came here with a friend recently for the first time. The food was tasty and I have got take aways from here since. Lovely food. My only complaint would be that the tables are a little too close for comfort here. Otherwise, really lovely!

Went to Sawadee last week. Overall it was a very pleasant meal. The larb ped duck starter was tasty and quite spicey. I had the massaman lamb curry which was delicious, big chunks of succulent lamb. My friend had a prawn main course which was very nice too. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly as always. Will be back!

Went there on fri night. Had the most fantastic meal. I have the biggest prawns I'd seen since the Maldives and they were cooked to perfection. I knocked it down .5 a point as my starter of scallop and prawn parcels though lovely tasted nothing like prawns nor scallops but my guest had parwn in filo parcels and WOW! Her main was sea food stir fry which had a fantastic varity of food. She adored it though asked to spice it down from a 3 to a 2 and it was still spicy so be aware spice about!! The service was fantastic really excellent. And the bill - €93 ext tip for the 2 of us and a bottle of prosecco. I was amazed. Excellent value.

had the early bird here on sunday, was very quiet so not much atmosphere but the service was great, the food was lovely but the portions are a bit on the small side, the non early bird portions are much bigger, but at 30 odd for 2 starters and 2 mains you cant really be fussy! Would go back again

This is a great restaurant. I have eaten here many times and I am never disappointed with the food. The portions are generous, the free prawn crackers are delicious (and spicy) and the rice/noodles are always cooked to perfection. My only negative is that we arrived early in the evening a couple of times, when it was quite empty but overstaffed. The staff tend to all stand near the dining tables which feels a little imtemidating when you are the only customers sitting nearby. They are still very friendly however and the service is always excellent.

Yum Yum Yum. The massaman curry here is really delicious. My friend had the duck the same night and loved it also. The portion sizes as mentioned by someone else are decent and the food is genuinely tasty and wholesome. I was at a well known thai restaurant in Dublin recently that is constantly packed and it is really tough to get a table at. This place however really is a better eatery with prices that also rival their food. I'd say this is without a doubt the best thai food in Dublin and I think I'm difficult enough to please!

My wife and I ate from the early bird menu on saturday and recommmend it any day of the week. Very resonably priced for very good food with excellent service. My only gripe is that there was tofu in my meal which was not stated on the menu, which they gave me a sincere apology and then offered to change it. Other than that, fabulous. Will defo go back!

The food at this restaurant is divine and really good value for the quality. Service was great, lovely wine. My only complaint is that when I was there there was a high-pitched ringing sound coming from somewhere that was really irritating!! But the food is so good I'd still go back!

I really find it hard to understand some people!! Why anyone would give this restaurant less than 4 stars is beyond me. Food is amazing! Ingredients are fresh and perfectly cooked. Portions are just right and they are not stingy with the seafood. I have been going to Sawadee restaurant since it opened some years ago. My wife and I go on average once a week as it is that good. I have brought friends here, some of whom work in the food industry and they think it is fab too. Even the Take Away is great. The service is the most professional you will find, the place is spotless and the food is divine. It is one of the very few authentic 100% Thai restaurants in Dublin. This is clearly the best Thai restaurant this side of Phuket!! Keep up the great work guys!!

I visited here as part of a group of 12 on a Saturday night. I was glad to see that we were seated upstairs as downstairs is quite cramped for a larger group. The staff were friendly. The menu had a lot to offer and all reasonably priced. The service however seemed to deteriorate once orders started and food started arriving. The staff got very confused with positions telling a couple of the girls that they had the correct food when it clearly wasnt. The food was really good, tasty and fresh. Although another minor issue of getting the bill occurred at the end of the evening - four attempts to get the bill. I know for some people this may be an advantage but for a group of girls looking to head out for a drink it wasnt favourable. I did enjoy my experience in Sawadee and would go back again regardless of the few slip ups!

Sawadee is a great neighbourhood restaurant. I have eaten here a number of times, with family and friends, and it remains popular with everyone i know. The food is lovely, portions are really big. I have had the green and red veggie curries and noodle dishes, and my family love the duck dishes. Its pretty reasonable, the take-away menu is really good value, a lot cheaper than the restaurant prices. My only complaint is that the rice and noodles side dishes are quite pricey. But all in all, its great value and really nice food.

The place was packed when we arrived at 7pm, but even though it was so busy our waiter was very attentive and the service was fast. The good was gorgeous, we had the duck which was melt in the mouth, sweet and sour and the pineapple rice. It was all beautiful and I will definitely be back.

I went here with friends a few weeks ago, and everyone was satisfied with their food, but thought it was a little bit pricey. Only two starters were had and it was a dish with lime and coriander, absolutely delicious. I went with a recommendation from a review from menupages in ordering the drunken noodle for my mains and that too was delicious. All in all very tasty, staff very attentive, décor more bistro than Thai restaurant, curry was very expensive for what was in it. Will go again

Went here last night for the early bird. There were only four starters and four mains, which was a little limited I think. there were only us and another couple in the restaurant. Overall the food was nice, my boyfriend loved the beef chilli noodles, but I felt my green veg curry was a little rich and felt a bit sick after it. The restaurant decor is lovely, and the staff try very hard to help you. Overall I'd think I'd like to go back again and try something else.

I ate here for the first time last week with two others and we all really enjoyed the meal. Two of us had the duck (served crispy)which was absolutely delicious while the other person tried the chicken with ginger. Our starters were good too - we shared a mixed plate. Prices are not cheap but not over the top either although we didn't like having to pay for our rice separately. The service was very attentive although the restaurant was quite busy - unusual for a Wednesday at 8pm I would have thought. We will return.

Myself and my partner went here on Saturday night. I found the food bland, I had the curry and my partner had the duck which he found very dry. We had the scallop and prawn starter and it lacked taste. The Restaurant lacks atmosphere, well it did that night anyway. It is pricey for where it is located you would expect that in the City. Overall. Dishes not worth their price. Won't be rushing back there.

Myself a group of girlfriends had the early bird here two weeks ago. There are not many options on the early bird but it's extremely good value for the quality of food they serve.I have since gone back for the regular menu and it too didn't fail to impressed me. It may be a little pricey considering you have to pay for your rice on top of the meal, but overall it is well worth a visit. I will definitely be back again.

The service was very pleasant but the food was terrible. I had the seafood salad which involved very little seafood, some iceberg lettuce and was drenched in dressing. I also had the rice cooked with pineapple, prawns and chicken. Again, only two prawns in the entire dish and I really thought had a horrible flavour. My friend had a duck dish which was kind of tasteless and didn't come with much sauce for all his rice. I won't be going back.

Really nice food, nice atmosphere, really friendly staff. I've been there a few times now and I would highly recommend. The best Thai I've ate in Dublin so far (and I've tried a good few!) Prices are also very reasonable for the quality of the food. If you like Thai food, Sawadee is the place to go!

Will definitely return! At last a restaurant offering a great atmosphere of comfort and the ability to hear the conversation in a group. Visited here with a party of 5 people and all agreed it has lovely atmosphere, really great food, great menu, great wine selection, prices are average for Dublin restaurants, if some sides a little above average. Service friendly and professional. A lovely evening....

I ate in sawadee for the first time last night and I have to say it is one of the best Thai restaurants I have been in. The food was superb, spicy without being overpowering. The curries are fantastic as was the stir fried seafood which had a very generous amount of scallops, prawns, mussels and squid. The value was pretty good although rice or noodles are not included in the main courses. If I had one criticism it would be that the bill was not itemised but rather came as one total price. I will definitely be back.

Great place to eat. Food is always really good. The service is just right, it's like the staff have intuition of when you need them. Side orders are a little pricey but the quality makes up for any extra cost. I'd rather pay a little extra and have a great meal than not. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant and will continue to dine here as often as I can.

Was here mid week and was surprised at how many people were there. The staff were completely attentive and the food was superb. I couldn't fault a thing. As only two of us were drinking we didn't get to finish our wine so we asked could we bring it home and the staff had no problem with this. We sat chatting for ages after the meal and were not rushed out. I will definitely be going back, can't wait to.

I have to say without a doubt the best Thai restaurant. I go at least once every 2 months. The staff don't hover but are always on hand if you want anything. The atmosphere is so relaxing, the food is fabulous and you feel it's an occasion when you go as the food is not thrown at you in a noisey busy atmosphere. Everything is laid out and gently placed in front of you, the music is soothing and there isn't a sense of panic to the place. They do a special early bird menu from Tues to Thurs if you fancy something nice but are a bit strapped. It all comes out at once so if you like courses don't go for it. I highly recommend a visit

After being recommended by a friend and reading the reviews here I decided to go visit Sawadee. Both myself and my partner were quite disappointed in it though. We had the mixed platter for starters which was lovely, but too many prawns for my liking! For mains I had the Duck was which just ok, tasted nice etc. but nothing too spectacular. My partner had the Mackeral, which he thought was lovely but not enough of it!! I think the smell of the mackeral which was quite strong may have contributed to me not really enjoying my meal though! I do think that plain ole Jasmine Rice/noodles should be included in the mains price. If you want fancy rice / noodles, then charge for them. It was €90 for 2 starters/mains/desserts and one bottle of wine which I thought was slightly on the expensive side. Not the best Thai I've been to before. I may go back to try out the Sunday afternoon menu, but I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend. Watch this space!!

Really nice resteraunt, staff are very attentive and friendly but nice length of time between courses. Food is lovely, combination started is excellent to try the range of starters and the seafood is amazing. Quite pricey especially as rice or noodles are not part of your dish and have to be ordered seperately. But overall very nice, have been twice and both times had a lovely experience.

Dined here Wednesday night. Found it to be nicely organised, not overcrowded. The staff were very polite and the service efficient. The menu had a nice varied choice. The only thing is they do not indicate on the menu if the choice is spicy, so ask! Started with a seafood salad, which is spicy and delicious. The main course was also delicious and just the right size so as your able to have a drink afterwards. Good selection of wines too. Two starters, two mains, two glasses house red and two cappas 70 quid. Good value in my book. Definitely will return. Thumbs up.

I found Sawadee to be a lovely restaurant. Atmosphere was good. Food was great and staff were very attentive. The only thing is that you need to order rice separately to your main course which brings the cost up and also you feel slightly ripped off - as a bowl of rice shouldn’t cost €4.50. Other than that we really had a great night.

The food here is lovely, but wouldn't consider it particularly wonderful value. The main courses don't come with any rice and most of the rice dishes cost between €4-€6, which really bumps up the price of your curry or stir fry. Just think it’s a bit expensive for a local restaurant. No complaints about the food though.

First time going last week, will definitely return. Good atmosphere, tables were close but you wouldn't really notice, the big groups were upstairs, staff were friendly and helpful, I went there on a Thurs so they weren't that busy. Food was excellent, a good choice on the menu, had the chicken satay for starters - succulent and tasty, best I've had, and had the roast duck breast for main, very tasty, well presented, little fat, could possibly do with a little more sauce. Usual Thai desserts, ice creams and fruit, hard to get a place with great mains and desserts.

Superb example of what a Thai restaurant should taste and feel like catering for our European tastes. In terms of food it is our new favourite Thai experience. 20 euro main is reasonable in this day and age. Only quibble is the fact that there are two "sittings" on a Saturday night but in reality the efficient and courteous service means that the meal is done and dusted within the allotted two hour time frame for the earlier sitters. Love it and can't wait to go back.

We went for the first time last week and were very impressed. The decor, the staff and the food were all first rate. We had the early bird menu, which is great value. The only thing we found a little odd was the fact that the starter and main course arrived on the same plate. Even so, it was delicious and very reasonable.

Have eaten here three times, great food, nicer than a lot of other Thai restaurants, the last time I ate here was for my birthday with 8 other people, everyone enjoyed their meals and each one said they'd be back again, I honestly don't have anything bad to say about this place, great value!

I have been to Sawadee three times now and each time was excellent. I'm writing this review cos I read one that said the tables downstairs were too close together. I was there Saturday night (21st April) with four friends, sitting downstairs and one of the remarks made by a friend was that there was a lot of space between the tables. Anyway our service was great, friendly but not overly attentive which I like. True a few of them don't seem to smile but when the food is that good it doesn't bother me. Plus they have proper desserts. It's one of the few Thai restaurants that don't hand out with the laminated sheet of desserts, you know the one with Pucky the bird on it!! Go eat at Sawadee, you won't regret it.

Easter Sunday night. Four tables occupied. Attentive and polite but not particularly friendly staff. Good variety on menu. We order the selection of starters for 2 priced at 14.50 for two pieces each of 4 types of starter. All well presented and cooked with 4 different dipping sauces. It would have been nice for the waitress to explain what each was without having to be asked however. Mains were tasty and just the right quantity. The Jasmine rice however was extremely 'gloopy'. Bill for above plus 3 drinks 70.00 euro. One major quibble I have with serving staff not just in this restaurant is that when one doesn’t add a tip to the credit card bill their demeanour seems to change. I usually prefer to leave a cash tip on the table if service is good. It is very off-putting to see this change before they even know if they are receiving a tip.

I went here for the first time last Saturday night. The food was gorgeous and really reasonable but my only complaint would be that the tables downstairs were too close together. We could overhear the people's conversations on either side, which was a little uncomfortable and cramped. The staff were very friendly. With starters, two mains and bottle of time for under 75 Euro - we felt it was great value. Will definitely go again soon.

I've been to Sawadee on several occasions, and while it looks nothing on the outside, the interior decor is lovely. The staff are friendly without being obtrusive. The food is delicious - try the lamb & potato curry. Wines are good value too - which is a bit of a rarity in Dublin. Good value for money, by Dublin standards.

I love this restaurant, if you are looking for a nice Thai meal with some Thai fusion go here, I’ve been to many Thai restaurants in Dublin and this would defo be in my top 3. The decor, the service and the food is spot on, it is also reasonable priced.

I had a really enjoyable meal in this restaurant last week. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. It was also very reasonably priced. There is a very nice relaxed atmosphere in this restaurant and the decor is very nice and modern. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
