Returned here for dinner after a long break. If you are a true lover of proper Italian pizza with thin base and proper tomato sauce I highly recommend this place. i had a lovely pizza w pepperoni and hot chilli and oh was it good. The food is absolutely delicious. The decor is nice after they redecorated (a good while back but I haven't been here for a while). Tiny bit noisy at times. Excellent selection for red wine and nice service.

Had lunch here with four friends. Having had a bad experience here previously, we were reluctant to return. But as we received vouchers the last time after complaining we decided to try again.BIG MISTAKE!!! Over cooked rubbery cod, dry over cooked chicken in brown 'white wine sauce' served with a salad (taken from a bag of mixed salad leaves) no dressing or anything else that would constitute a salad. Needless to say desserts were also a big disappointment. It really is an awful shame they can't serve better quality food, and recruit some friendlier waiting staff because it is a lovely premises but that is the only positive thing i could say about this place. It's just as well there's plenty of nice places to eat in Terenure!

Terrific night out in Bellagio on Valentine's Night. Very busy, and there was a great atmosphere. We have never been disappointed here, and we've been several times. Service was attentive and friendly. Stuffed olives to start with, followed by Scallops for the wife (very good) and Pate for me. Wife was very happy with her Lemon Sole, and my Pizza was great. A nice touch for Valentine's day - my pizza was delivered heart shaped, instead of the usual round shape ! A great night out, and very much enjoyed. Definitely be back.

For a Wednesday night the place was really busy at 8pm. Service was excellent as usual staff are so friendly and attentive. Food was beautiful the goats cheese salad for starter was beautiful. Couldn't say a bad work about the food in this resturant, beautful as alway. Can be a bit pricy. €70 for 2 start & main 1 bottle of beer but was worth every penny

We went to bellagio last weekend The service when we walked in wasnt great we got a lunch / Al Cart Menu which is very limited. we where not offered the main menu or any drinks and it was cold. They did eventally turn on a heater but we had to ask for drinks other than the water provided. we order staters and mains and they where not great I got mozzarella balls for starter and they where 5 tiny balls with some tomato sauce under them they where over done and not that nice. My husband got garlic bread which tasted nice but was a little small. I got chicken & mushroom pasta for main it was big dish but didnt have much chicken or mushrooms in it it was more pasta with a cream sauce and that was it. My husband got chicken which didnt taste good. We where so unhappy with the whole meal we decided to not get dessert and just got the bill and left. We will not be going back there any time soon. We went out for a nice meal but ended up being very disappointed

Lovely food, with friendly efficient service. They have excellent choices, from a set "international" all night early bird menu, as well as the traditional Italian regulars with a twist. We eat here regularly and the only reason it lost half a star in the ratings from a 5 is because when the restaurant is full (which is most time - a good sign in itself) the noise level is high and it can be difficult to hear each other.. Maybe a few big plants might help soak up some of the noise. But we and obviously many others, keep going back to this restaurant.

Bellagio is one of the restaurants we visit in Terenure when in the area. The staff are lovely and always remember us, which is nice! The food is always fresh and bursting with real italian flavours, my only gripe is it can be a little expensive (fillet steak bit pricey) in saying that we always leave, full, satisfied and relaxed - what a good restaurant is supposed to do!

Went to Bellagio last friday for dinner with two friends. It was great. I had delicious gratinato from prawns and calamari ever. Pasta frutti di mare for my main was excellent, chef was very generous with seafood. For the dessert I went for tiramisu which was light and tasty, the best I've had in the restaurant in Dublin. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. We will definitely come back.

Had a late lunch on Sunday. My partner had just starters of Crostini al salmone and I had mains of Rigatoni con polpettine. The service initially was fine but when I went to pay the bill I had a wait. The food was average ( the meat balls were a little hard) and as there was only a couple of customers the atomosphere was flat. The price was not inexpensive for what was ordered.

We booked a table here for 5 people for Sat. night. We were late arriving as we missed the turn lol however it was no problem. We were shown to our talbe and promptly served with menus and water. Well what an experience!!!! Our food and service was only delicious the place was buzzing and it is no wonder. The staff were lovely but the food and the bill was second to none really good value for 4 course meal. All my party were very impressed with the flavour and presentation. We will definitley be back. Keep doin what you doin it is working well for you,.

Dropped in here for some dinner on a Sunday evening. There was a really good crowd but we managed to get a nice table by the window upstairs. I had a waldorf salad, which was really light and tastey. My boyfriend had a pizza which was delicous too. The service was prompt and friendly. We will be back soon :)

Took the family here for our Mother's 60th Birthday. Had a great night, very friendly waiting staff, excellent service. Nice wine selection, decent food selection, although many of the side orders never arrived, which is the only negative we experienced on the evening. Would highly recommend the food otherwise, and the price was very reasonable.

Visited here in December with my husband. It was a very cold night and the resturant wasn't very warm which made it a little unpleasant. The service was pleasant and the food was average. I was disappointed as I had heard good reports from people who knew people thet had visited here. The place is also very bright which might siut some people but I felt on that night it made a cool restaurant feel even colder.

My husband and I brought my parents out for dinner to Bellagio's. None of us had ever been. All 4 of us agreed on the same issues afterwards and none of us would return. On a cold and snowy evening, we arrived to a cold restaurant and neither I nor my mother could remove our coats until well into our meal. We noted that a number of the couples around us had kept their scarves on! The restaurant was also very noisy, despite not being full. We found the servers to be friendly but we did have to call our server over twice to remind her of menus/ dishes that had not been brought to the table. The food was ok, not bad. Maybe alright for a midweek bite to eat after work but not impressive enough to bring guests to. Overall I was very disappointed. These days having dinner out is a treat, but I was left feeling embarassed that I had chosen this particular restaurant.

Went for dinner for the first time in Bellagio's last Friday and really enjoyed it. Lovely bright, clean restaurant with a clear view of the kitchen. We went for the pate and the scallops for starters both dishes were gorgeous. For mains we both had fish, I had the sea bass and my partner had the breaded lemon sole with roasted baby potatoes and a side order of mushrooms both meals again were very nice. Shared a cheese board for desert and have lovely hot expressos with a lovely bottle of pinot grigio. The staff here are fantastic, very friendly explaining the dishes and very attentive. Really enjoyed my first visit and looking forward to returning.

We ate here on a Saturday night and although not full there was a comfortable crowd here. There is good set menu for 19.95 for 2 courses, my partner went for this and had pate and trout. I went for the calamari which was lovely and a very good sized portion. The service was prompt and friendly.

I visited Bellagios on a Sunday night at 7 o'c with my husband. Restaurant was very quiet on arrival. We both opted for Prawn Cocktail and Slow cooked roast lamb from the Early Bird Menu. The prawns while plentiful were very small, rubbery and tasteless. The lamb was tough, grizzley and chewy and came with potatoes but no veg. While the Early Bird menu is good value the quality of the food would certainly not bring me back. Having been a big fan of Bellagios in the past I have been very disappointed on my last 2 visits. It is a pity to see its standards dropping in these recessionary times when restaurants are struggling to attract business.

We've eaten here previously and its located close to home so was convenient for us to grab a bite to eat on Saturday evening last. We arrived amid the chaos of communion day celebrations in full swing (not an issue in itself) but we were placed right beside a very noisy table and you literally had to shout to be heard. The staff were all dashing around frantically and couldn't even manage a smile when they finally took our orders. The food was average and mirrors other Italian restaurants in Dublin with menu and taste a carbon copy albeit tries to market itself as somewhat more upmarket. Left feeling disappointed!

I've eaten in this place many times as my mother is a big fan and it is consistantly great! Their early bird is great value and the food is always good. I went for the pizza and for a pizza on an early bird it's a very generous size and i wasn't able to manage it all. My mam went for Spaghetti Bolognase (as she always does here!) and she loved it too. . Not so much recommended for a romantic meal or anything but great value for a local meal and I'll definitely return.

This is the 2nd time I've come here and had another excellent meal. The place was really buzzing for a Wednesday night. There were 3 of us eating and we all had starters, mains and 1 dessert with after dinner drinks plus a bottle of wine. The service was excellent and the food very tasty. Starters included pate, mussels and bruschetta - all of which were good. Main courses were veal/pizza and meatballs - the meatballs were particularly good. The portion sizes were huge!

I had lunch here today with a friend, and the value is great; starter and main for €10!. I had the bruschetta to start it was so nice, huge portion and loads of flavour. My friend had the Mussels, she really enjoyed them. I had the mushroom pizza for main, really nice, crust was really thin and crispy and the toppings really fresh. The chicken and white wine sauce was well received but there was no choice but to have chips with it... two coffees were really nice. The total meal was under thirt quid; 2 starters, two mains, a mineral and two coffees... The only issue was the waiter pretty much stood over us to get our order, when all we wanted to do when we came in was setle ourselves, have a chat and relax for a minute before looking at the menus, it was really quiet in there so I'd say he was bored silly but it was a bit comical!! I'll definately be back and as lunch is served until 5 o clock each day it's a winner!

Once the toast of Terenure, Bellagio has gone seriously down in my estimations. The lunch special (€10 for two courses) appears to be well rounded with a selection of pizza, pasta and alternative Italian fare. What is placed in front of you is quite a different matter. The mozzerella balls were slap dash and under seasoned, the mussels were also bland and needed a kick of garlic or something to breathe life into them and the grilled chicken in white wine sauce was a total disappointment in terms of presentation as well as taste. Bellagio seems to have lost direction and is foregoing quality for a quick buck. Lets hope they re-think their strategy soon.

Had a meal at bellagios at the weekend...had the chicken supreme stuffed with smokey bacon and roasted potatoes...the chicken was bland and i really did not like the stuffing at all, mushroom sauce was night and light but not enough of it...the potatoes were very greasy too...my cousin had pasta which was to be honest a tiny portion and snacked on my potatoes after she finished...i felt quite ill later on that night as did my cousin..i will not be back...and its unfortunate because the staff were lovely

Went here for a family meal of five and were very well treated. We ordered starters, mains and desserts and gosh was it lovely. The service is top-notch from when you walk in until you have finished your meals and paid your bill. Very friendly staff and the food was fab! I ordered the Bocconini Croccanti (deep fried mozzarella balls) and they were very tasty. The cheese is high quality and the vinaigrette is very well seasoned and flavoured. I was in the mood for a pizza as i had the Gnocchi the time before, so i ordered Pizza Salami. When the pizza arrived it was very hot, and partially pre-cut. The salami on the pizza was very Italian, and not burned on the edges, the base was thin and crispy and the crusts were floury soft. Very great pizza indeed! Banofee Pie was my dessert and for my second time, it was scrumptious. Bananas, plenty of cream and a soft, crumbly base. Some people prefer a harder, crunchier base for such a dessert but i do love Bellagio’s Bannoffee Pie! Overall i was very satisfied with our visit, and the family all enjoyed their dishes very much also. Definitely one for the planner and not bad prices either. There is a Early Bird menu which is great value!

The new Bellagio is very impressive - compared to its previous existence. The decor is very contemporary and stylish - almost a little out of place. Staff are very friendly and attentive. We went on a Saturday night - got a booking at relatively short notice. The place was buzzing. We were invited to sit at the bar while our table was prepared. At least you're not expected to wait in a neighbouring pub! We had a variety of starters, including deep fried stuffed olives which are unusual and satisfying; for mains we had lasagne and fillet steak - both of which were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly. The Sangiovese was off, but we had a lovely bottle of Marinus. We enjoyed it so much, that we came back the next day, for tea with the kids.

I visited this restaurant last night for the first time as part of a large group. The decor/atmosphere is pleasant, but a little cold. The staff were very attentive and eager to please. There were some children in our group and they were well catered for. The menu is varied and interesting, and the food was mostly very good. I had the calamari to start and they were lovely and tender, served with a tasty garlic mayonnaise. It is a large portion and a little heavy as a starter. For mains I had the rigatoni with a pancetta and pepper sauce. The sauce was delicious, but the pasta was quite severely undercooked and chewy. Others at our table had pizzas, steaks and lamb cutlets, and were all happy with their choices. Some of our party had profiteroles for dessert, and they were delicious - and very large portions. There was an offer on - 20% off food and a free glass of prosecco, which made it quite outstanding value. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would definitely like to return and try some other things on the menu. I just hope the undercooked pasta was a one-off glitch.

Stylish and friendly. Fab mirrors and wine displays around the walls. Great menu with lots of choice. Staff attentive and service good. Food was really good, everything piping hot and very tasty: we cleaned our plates! Wine list comprehensive and quite good value. Open plan bar which we loved; can see whats going on. Very pleased overall and would recommend to anyone.

Since Bellagio reopen I have found the new menu dissapointing. In my opinion Bellagio was one of few places who knew how to make traditional Carbonara the un-americanised way i.e. without Cream. It's not just the Carbonara the starters are poor bar the mozzeralla balls. The bruschetta is almost pointless. Before they tinkered with things this restaurant was excellent, bring back the original chef and a similar menu to the old one. The only item I found to be really tasty is the "Petto Di Pollo Panna E Funghi" (Breast of chicken in white wine cream and mushrooms sauce and fries) Will be back if I hear things have changed.

Visited here a few weeks ago - mid-week - with three friends. We hadn't booked as we'd originally planned to eat elsewhere but the other place was shut. I really enjoyed my meal at Bellagio - I had scallops to start and they were delicious. I then had gnocci for mains and it was tasty...would go back just for this dish. The atmosphere wasn't the warmest - we were one of only a handful of tables and there was a cold vibe. The staff were attentive...I would descibe them as friendly but the service was efficient and attentive. I was surprised when we got the bill as with wine and desserts I was expecting a bigger cheque but was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely return to Bellagio.

Ate here one evening because it was the only place for miles around not booked out and I can certainly see why. Staff did not have a very friendly manner. There was an Italian couple seated beside us and the staff kept pushing up beside our table to have very loud chats with them and give them the best service possible while we were ignored again and again. The food was so so. My boyfriend ordered a pizza which was quite nice but the scallops which i had were barely edible, they tasted gritty. Definitely will not be wasting my money with another visit here.

We love this restaurant( my wife and I).Last time we had as starter prosciutto with melon and an italian antipasto.for mains we had spaghetti tuna and scapols- all were amazing. They have real italian food and a nice staff. I m really surprised at all the negative comments, but I also now that some people were born to make complaints. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I cannot believe the bad reviews of this place in here. Although they do come from a nation that believe that pasta with chicken goes together.......which makes an Italian want to cry!! This place has true Italian cuisine, so if you don't like it definitely do not waist money on a trip to Italy because you will not find risotto and pasta with chicken anywhere!

Visited without booking at 8.30 approx, got a table with my wife and three adult children. Seated beside the toilet and cooking area, where it became increasingly hot. The service was OK. We were only going to have a beer, bottle of wine and some sparkling water and a main course. The portions were poor in terms of quality and quantity. 2 Portions of scallops, each containing 3 medium and two small scallops and the smallest portion of green leaves and portion of chips (undercooked) @ € 23 each is simply bad value. Two by Ravioli @ 17.95 and a Pasta were OK. A bottle of Ripasso Valpolicella @ €36 was expensive. Given the increasing heat we skipped the desert and coffee. The bill for this was €154 - I left a € 10 tip - not impressed and will not be rushing back there again.

Having been a frequent visitor to Bellagio we looked forward to the new look restaurant. Myself and 2 girlfriends paid a visit and we all agreed - the service was inexcusably slow, the portions are a far cry from the olde Bellagio (even after a starter and main I cant say I felt very full) and the prices just dont give any value for money. No complaints about the food other than the portions are too small and generally overpriced. We wont be rushing back.

The food was very bland I ordered the mozzarella balls and that is all i got no garnishing, no sauces just 4 little mozzarella balls in a bowl, for my main course I ordered the lasagna like the the mozzarella balls there was no presentation involved, as for the taste well it was hard to taste anything except for the cheese which had been mounted on top. The only positive thing I could say about this restaurant was that the services was very good and the waiters were very friendly and polite.

Real italian cuisine: if you don't like, do not visit Italy! We tried only few dishes, calamari fritti and linguine ai frutti di mare were delicious. ciao

I have been here in the past and I have found the food to be good. I went recently and I wasn't as impressed. We shared a calamari. The portion was a good size and the squid wasn't chew but the batter wasn't good and the oil it had been cooked in was tasteless. The pizza we had was fine. Good base and nice ingredients. We also ordered a salad. The lettuce was on the verge of going off. Desert was a nice Tiramisu. I went to the bathroom at one stage and was surprised to see it so dirty. The tap was broken and the broken piece just left there. Tissue all over the floor. It had a real mark of somewhere that had not been cleaned all day. I believe a health and safety requirement. We ordered an Irish coffee which was cold. When we complained we were told by a very nice waitress that we could have another. Not having enough time we declined and believed it should have been taken off the bill. There is a distinct lack of management here. I wont be back.

I used to come to this place before it was done up and I think I preferred it then, We came for a quick birthday meal before heading out and the food was ok. I had the pizza which was lovely. The venison raviolli was a little tasteless and quite pricey. One other person had the steak and said it was as good as it used to be. The service was good although the place was quite empty. I've had mixed reviews from this place from family and friends, some of whom liked it some of whom said the food was awful, particularly the lasagne, which had very little meat to pasta. When asked about this they were told that was the way it should be?! Basically its ok but it used to be better value.

The Lunch is good value for Money. Food has improved here had the tuna salad and spaghetti bolognaise, salad portion was ok size but pasta was good, have to say, spaghetti done al dente. Very tasty food so improvement there. My friend had cod which he enjoyed too. Tables are very close together though and impossible to have a conversation without next table listening in. Thing I don't like is the service although it was prompt yesterday it is not friendly and girl who served us was terse and unfriendly. Think this place is expensive at night but lunch is good value.

My girlfriend and I enjoy Italian food, so I thought I would take her to Bellagio as it's local, not far to walk and it was our first time there. I had booked a table for two and was given a choice of some 4 tables but noticed straight away that the tables seemed close together. The waiter took our wet coats and hug them up for us. For starters my girlfriend had the mussels which was a good size portion, as was my selection of Italian cured meats. We went for the Lazio white wine which was very good. For main course, my girlfriend had lemon sole with a side order of baked potatoes. Her meal came with a small bowl of cold chopped vegetables which didn't taste that great. She remarked on how she was glad she had ordered the extra potatoes. For my main course I had pasta with Venison and was looking forward to it. When it arrived, the venison was in the form of mince meat. The taste of the meat didn't have the strong deep taste of game and I was disappointed with the meal as a whole. We asked for the bill while finishing off the wine and when it arrived I noticed that two desserts had been added that we did not order! In summary, the main courses weren't great and to have a romantic meal for two without the next table listening on your conversation is difficult. Remember to closely check your bill.

Poor value from the a la carte menu. Soggy veg and really poor chips did not help. The Early bird at €14.99 looks better value and was the popular choice of many, but I won't be returning to check it out very soon. My first two choices from the wine list were not available, although I did spot the Valpolicella locked up in a glass presentation case.

Eat here last February was not impressed. The waiting staff try their best to ignore you. Food was very average nothing wrong but not worth the money. Tables very close and everytime anyone at the tables beside you moved you had to move also. Nice decor but not comfortable.

My husband and I visited Bellagio on Tuesday night. I had been prior to the renovations but had not been back since. When we arrived we requested a table near some friends of ours this took about five minutes to set up. When we were seated the waiter went off I presumed to get some menus unfortunately this was not the case after about 20 minutes we managed to grab his attention and request them. We both ordered Bruschetta but what I got was cheese balls in a very bland tomato sauce and they tasted like something which I would purchase in Aldi, acceptable but not great. We shared a Pizza, and salad which was fine, and then joined our friends table for our coffee. This was also fine and we requested our respective bills. My friends had not been charged for their coffee and pointed it out to the waiter, they were told the coffee was complimentary and we joked that we would end up paying for it, which is exacly what happened, it was not a major issue but I just felt the night ended exactly as it started off quite disapointing. I won'e be back. BJ

After experiencing italian restaurant "Bellagio" taste, you can't forget it.I would say it was most of my enjoyable experiences since i moved to Dublin. And the main thing it is not just very tasty but also very affordable and enjoyable because of the trendy atmosphere, friendly ,attentive service and main thing great food and great reasonable value of it.And also what caught my eye thats the brand new image of the restaurant and that is amazingly clean with open kitchen,so you can see what's happening!!! It was lovely to start evening with italian Rose(sparkling wine) and the taste of Bruschetta and than I followed with the main course of scallops which were incredibly tasty.Scallops were tasty, fresh and juicy ,thats the feeling which makes you to come back. I am sure there is many more items on the menu which are forth it to try and I am looking forward for that experience. And I would highly recommend to evrybody just to go and try it!!!!!!!!

I used to eat here before the renovation and loved it then and still love it - even more. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The food is delicious. When we last ate there the manager gave us a complimentary starter to share of pizza base with olive oil and chopped tomatoes - delicious - I'll never have any other starter again. Emply plates all around for the main courses also - which varied from Pizza to Pasta. Can't wait to go back.

A nice clean and long overdue rennovation has definitely increased the appeal to this place...the food was also quite good! We ate some parma ham for starters and pizza for mains. The pizza was very good and the bill was what you would expect from a suburban pizzeria!! The tiramisu for dessert was very good! I will most likely visit this spot again...

Our first trip to the new Bellagio was such a disappointment. It's only around the corner, and we used to go quite often before it was done up. We had always found the food really nice, simple Italian food - fresh ingredients, well made. Friendly staff. We wont be going again. We went at around 6pm, ie dinner time with young children. Loads of staff hanging around the bar area, on the phone, chatting to each other, not looking after us. We were seated close to the bar area so felt like we were intruding. The food was poor, which we were very surprised at. The pizza was not as good as a supermarket oven pizza, soggy & doughy base, deli ham. Any time we had pizzas before they were lovely so maybe just unlucky. I had lasagne, it was all runny and not a very big portion, whereas previously it was thick and creamy, and very filling. We were so disappointed in the whole experience, we just could not get out quick enough. We live round the corner and have always gone there as a Friday evening treat for the kids. It's such a pity to be put off when it is so handy, and somewhere that previously the staff were so nice and fiendly and helpful and happy to see you and your young kids.

Went this evening almost on the spur of the moment. Haven't been here for years. Like the new look - certainly the smartest restaurant in Terenure at present. The selection on the menu was impressive. The seafood and Bellagio pizzas were particularly impressive, and the pizza dough was just right. My rigatoni a la norma was tasty - lovely grated fresh parmesan - cbut the sauce ould have been a little hotter. The younger members of the party had massive portions of apple pie (more like a cake) with huge scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Went for the €9.95 lunch to meet 2 friends last week and as it the saying goes I got exactly what is says on the tin! Nice minestrone soup served with fresh bread. I asked for and received more bread. I had the pizza for main which was good. What more do you want for under a tenner. Also I was offered tap water as well!

An adequate restaurant - food is nothing spectacular. When I ate there the atmosphere was also adequate, not a huge crowd but we were early enough. I have not returned and although it was nice enough it would not stick out in my mind as a place on my top list

I ate in this restaurant today and felt obliged to write a review as soon as possible. We were a party of six which included two young children. The decor was lovely and pleasant but unfortunately that was the best thing I can say about the experience. I was really surprised when I saw the portion sizes, especially when my four year olds half portion of pasta came out. To say he had it eaten in the blink of an eye is no exaggeration!!!! Three of us had suppli and I was extremely disppointed as it was clearly overcooked and very dry. Apart from the calzone the other three main courses - a chicken dish & two pasta dishes very just very ordinary. The staff were nice but very distracting especially the gentleman who was clearing the tables who in the short space of time we were there managed to smash at least two or three glasses!!! It was not my idea of a relaxing Sunday lunch and I won't be returning.

Brought some friends here as an option for an upcoming birthday party but after our visit we will definately not be returning. Bad start when we were left standing at the door for ages even though there were clearly plenty of tables available. Not even a smile when we were eventually seated with no menus. When my wine came there was lipstick on the glass and lots of small hairs floating in it. We ordered two chicken and blue cheese salads and the suppli to start. It was like a game of find the chicken with the salads, 3 tiny pieces lot under a bowl of leaves,,or choke on the stale, dry suppli. We didnt bother finishing any and when we told our suit wearing server he just said he'd take it off the bill, no appologies. mains came, tiniest portion of carbanra I've ever seen, definately only a side portion. The pizza was black underneath, liquid tomato on top and didnt have the toppings we ordered. Our full plates were cleared by an actual waiter who was both concerned and appologetic and offered us coffees on the house. I thought at last someone who knows what theyre doing. Then the bill came including the starter that we were told would be removed. The waiter fetched the manager who leaned in on our table and looked at me without a word. I pointed out the mistake and said we hadnt enjoyed our meal only to be told in a very matter of fact tone that he tried the pizza and it was fine. We paid the bill and left..

Having tried it a few years ago and had a less than acceptable experience I was intrigued when I saw it had been reopened with no expense spared on the fit out – looks excellent from outside and thought it was worth revisiting. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to sample the evening meals, but was pleased to be in the area at lunchtime last week and get a chance to sample it. There was a good crowd with a generous mix of most demographics from couples enjoying lunch to business folk getting a quick lunch – I was one of the latter. It got better when I saw they had 2 courses for 9.95 which is excellent value I thought - There were 3 of us and we went for an assortment of dishes; starters included Bruschetta, Soup and Salad. Mains were Authentic Lasagne, Grilled Chicken and a Vegetarian Pasta – it soon became apparent where the value was coming from. The Soup & Bruschetta were enjoyable if small, but salad was wilted and tasteless. Our mains came and I was appalled at the pathetic portion sizes, barely enough lasagne to constitute a child’s course (and microwaved with burnt inedible edges at that), I came to lunch to get out of the office, but the Grilled Chicken was the size of your average post-it (but tasted ok) and the Vegetarian Pasta was utterly tasteless, in fact so tasteless my colleague didn’t eat it & got a sandwich in a neighbouring deli after we finished. Overall a poor experience, excellent décor, lacklustre food, disinterested service and pathetic portion sizes. – Second time not so lucky!

I was a regular customer at this restaurant and often had family meals there before it was refurbished. Service was friendly, the food was good and the atmosphere pleasant. Sadly, I am no longer inclined to visit again after my experience in the new restaurant. Firstly tap water was not offered as a choice when water was requested, only still or sparkling. Our shared starter of calamari was unpleasantly rubbery so we left half of it. The plate was removed without comment. Fillet steak was fine. The mushroom sauce tasted only of cream. Ribeye steak was so tough and gristly that it was impossible to eat. Nobody asked us if we were enjoying our meal and once again the nearly uneaten meal was taken away without comment. On the plus side the wine was nice and we were offered a shot of limoncello or brandy at the end. However that didn't make up for the deficiencies of the meal.

A flying visit for a quick dinner that I can only complement. I have had a few Italian meals in Ireland but only a small percentage actually leave you thinking 'these people must be Italians'. I hope they move to the city-centre some time soon and I could easily recommend a few 'Italian' restaurants that I wouldn't mind seeing them replace. Well done.

Party of 4 ate here 30 January last. Kept meaning to do review as I was not a bit impressed with the service and could not let it pass. Waiter was most offhand. Did not look at us taking order, when serving in particular desert practically threw it on the table as he passed by. Certainly will not return. In these times, this is not acceptable

Had dinner here on Saturday night. Hadnt been here before (its been recently done up). The welcome wasnt great, more like absent. Theres no welcome point and you walk straight off the street into the dining rooms where the other diners are kinda sitting there lookin at you and you know they are thinking get in and shut the door...given the weather has been rough id say theres been a few chilly diners over the past few weeks so best get a table down the end of the room. Anyhow we had a booking and after about 10minutes standing at the door a waiter finally brought us to our table. The room is very open so you wont have a cosy, romantic meal here. Took about 10mins to get the waiters attention to order our food but it was pretty good when it came out. Salmon on brown bread was well received. Minestrone soup was nice, nothing exceptional. Lamb cutlets very good and likewise fillet steak - as has been said in previous reviews the pepper sause is yum. No space for desert so the above, with a bottle of wine, came to €86. Presentation was very good and all food nicely cooked so all in all it was good value. The atmosphere/setting of restaurant would put me off coming back. Service was a bit all over the place too but nothing major.

Ate here on saturday night, had a lovely meal, the place was hopping, glad i made a reservation, was a little while before a waiter came over but after that service was efficent. The food was lovely we were both very happy with our choices, small let down there was a hair in our bread basket at the start other than that no complaints, good for the neighbourhood, will be back!

It has finally opened and I have to say it looks really well and is very spacious. Came for lunch and it wasnt very busy so there wasnt much of a buzz. Food was lovely altho they got my starter wrong and overcooked my main, but I got replacements very quickly and the food was amazing! Always pleasant service and the tiramisu was fab!!! Nice place to go to for relaxed meal or just a one course stop! Would go back again...

I really liked this restaurant and used to come here fairly often. The steak in peppercorn sauce is to die for! In fact all of their dishes are very good... I've tried the pizza, pasta and other meat/fish dishes and they are all delicious. A really good option in the Terenure area. They temporarily closed for a refurb a few months back however - so check when they are reopened.

I went here to have an early dinner with a friend. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. The food was fantastic and the service was good. An early bird menu would be a great addition as there was no atmosphere when we were eating but we still paid full dinner prices. I will definitely return for lunch as they serve similar dished for half the price.

I went to Bellagio on Friday night with my husband. We had a reservation so had no problem getting a table. We have been here several times in the past and the staff are always very friendly - it's always a good sign when there are native Italian staff. However we were overall disappointed with our meal. I had the pasta with prawns, courgettes in a cream sauce and a side of baked bread with mozzerela and anchovies. The bread was practically inedible, it was stodgy and there were way too may anchovies which made it far too salty to eat. The penne was cooked perfectly but there were about 5 small prawns and not much courgette so I was not impressed at all. My husband had the pizza which we seemed to enjoy. Overall it was not great, we might give it another chance but with a lot of choice in Terenure it could be a long time before we're back here.

Myself and my partner and friends have been here a few times and are always fairly happy coming out! I usually get the prawns with pastas in a creamy sauce and it does be nice although on some occasions it has not been! I find the atmosphere to be a nice one but for some strange reason any time we go and there are kids they are the noisest kids ever and really put a dampner on the meal (I'm not a kid hater). Other than that I would recommend this restaurant for a catch up with friends or a early evening meal, would not class it as romantic but that won't stop me going back.

Definitely a case of price over quality. We ate there Friday lunchtime, when the menu was 9.50 for a starter and main. My starter of crostini with mushrooms was poor - heavy and tasteless. The sulpi was slightly better but again lacked flavour. My main of rigatoni with sage butter was slightly better - nicely cooked pasta but again light on flavour with very little sage. The penne with aubergine and peas was a much better bet, with a good creamy tomato sauce. The side salad was uninspired with no dressing. Service also needs improvement - not rude but certainly not attentive or pleasant. Overall, the cheap price did not make this good value. We won't be back.

This place is a grand spot. Food is reasonable. Price is reasonable. House wine is reasonable and its only 18 quid. Service is good. In terms of restaurants in Terenure, its one of the better ones. One problem, which happed to me here last Sunday which really annoyed me though... we came here with a party of 6, were shown to a table by the door, we asked about another table further up the room and we were told it was already booked. When we were leaving 2.5 hours later, that other table was still empty, in fact half of the restaurant was.

Was there with a couple of friends last month. We had to ask for a waiter to serve us a drink before the meal as we were waiting at the table for 15 minutes and no waiter came over to us in that space of time. Food was not very good. The service was not great. the atmosphere of the restraunt was poor. would not go there again.

Visited this restaurant last night & I have to say it was really very good. The atmosphere is very pleasant, just a friendly warm place. I got there at 6.30 having booked online. I was the first person there & was amazed that during the whole evening only 3 men turned up. The place has lots of ladies out for their evening meal. You could go on your own and not feel uncomfortable. My friend and I shared Suppli as a starter, because I had seen it being made on tv on the city channel when they showed Bellagio. The description of it in the menu is very off putting. It is really delicious and my friend and I both loved it. I had Veal escalopes with prawns for my main meal and it came with chips and salad. Very nice, light and tasty and I would order it again. My friend had Linguine with prawns and she totally cleared the plate. Another good sign. The wine was fine and the service was really very good. The girls serving were very nice, attentive and really quick with any requests. I am looking forward to going back.

Great value Italian, with great atmosphere and the waiters are excellent. I would definitely recommend it as you are not under any pressure to finish early and give up your seat.

Bellagio is a great place to go for large family parties or special occasions with a variety of generations involved. But I've been about 4 times now, and the restaurant that used to be great for being a suburban has become a little lax. The Parma ham crostini that one of my dining companions ordered had regular old sliced ham cut up in chunks on top of it. But the pizzas have remained pretty good and I LOVE the starter, suppli, its good every time.

Myself and my partner went to Bellagios last night for a Valentine's meal. Was nice decorated for Valentines day with roses and candles. Food was lovely. Insalata Caprese was lovely as always, fresh fluffy mozzerella and my carbonara was delicious, really creamy. My partner had a mushroom and aubergine starter and a chicken dish with tomato sauce for his meal and really enjoyed it. Portion might have been a bit small for a man but was very tasty none the less. Bottle of house white and a dessert came to €67, which is very reasonable. Service is excellent as always. Will always return.

This place is nice for a quiet night but it's not anything special. It is just a ordinary run of the mill Italian, not a huge selection and food ok. Staff are always nice & helpful. Will go back but never expect anything much.

The pizza is one of the best I've found in Dublin. The service and value is pretty much average after that. Their anti-pasti is a joke. Think of packaged ham but costing 7 euro. If you're looking for a pizza its a great place. Anything else I'd be cautious.

The food was enjoyable here, tasty but not life changing. It's your usual Italian menu but it is done nicely. It's good for relaxed family meals where simple meals are called for

What unbelievable value! A three course lunch for under a tenner. Plenty of choice and the food is up to the usual Italian restaurant standards. (Where can you go in Dublin for an outstanding Italian meal?) Service is very good. If you need to be in and out quickly they up the pace to suit and if you look like you have time to relax they throttle back. I had been for dinner some months before and was not as impressed but given my recent lunch experiences it might be worth another evening visit.

Ate here early on a Saturday and would have expected much more since we were at one of only two occupied tables. Service wasn't great but they got the job done even if the waiter insisted on hearing veal every time I said calamari? For starters the suppli was nice and unusual, the garlic pizza bread was a twelve inch pizza which we were warned about but how hard would it be to scale this down to starter size? I had the calamari and prawns for mains which at 26 euro was an unappetising waste of money with a plate full of rubbery calamari and four prawns and a limp salad on the side I would have liked a sauce or a dip or even a dressed salad with it. overall quite disappointing and they didn't even have brown sugar for my coffee after dinner

I have eaten in Bellagio's twice. Both times were good, portions are big and the food is made fresh. On the negative side the restaurant has no air-conditioning or, was turned off the last time we ate there. It was uncomfortably hot. The staff were attentive but did not offer black pepper or parmesan cheese. Overall the restaurant has a nice welcoming atmosphere and is good value for money. We will return.

I have eaten at Bellagios many times and last Friday my family and I had lunch here. They do a great value for money lunch deal - starter, main course and tea/coffee for €9.50. To date I have no complaints with this restaurant. The staff are very friendly, the service is good and the food is lovely. I will definitely eat here again.

I've eaten here a few times and have only once been disappointed with my meal. It was during lunch and the server took an exceptionally long time with everything. In the end we ended up leaving without receiving the coffees we'd ordered. They do, however, do a fantastic lunch deal - starter, main course and tea/coffee for €9 - and the menu is extensive. The pizzas here are really good and I once had the venison which was very delicate. When the place is full the atmosphere lifts but otherwise it can be a bit quiet.

Have eaten a number of times in Bellagio. Can be very cramped, small tables too close together. Pizza is excellent - thin crust - Capricioso recommended. Value reasonable. Suppli starter interesting. Other menu items not bad. Service can be very friendly - especially if you want to try your Italian out!

For an Italian restaurant the menu choice was huge, which was good. The only thing is we were placed in between 2 other tables and felt we were all on the one table, we were that close together! Food was good and price was reasonable, would only go back if I knew I wouldn’t be squashed between 2 other tables.

I wasn't overly impressed with this restaurant. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful and it seemed to take forever to get their attention. The food was average, I started with a Caprese, which was fine, nothing special and moved on to Rigatoni alla Roma. It was all very average. It's not a bad restaurant but didn't live up to the rave reviews I'd heard from friends

I went there for my birthday with a few other friends. I was very surprised how pizzeria it looked and that it didn’t look like it had proper Italian decor. The food was ok but it tasted like everything came out of a tin. There was no aroma to the rest like in a proper authentic Italian restaurant. A proper Italian restaurant should have proper Italian desserts and REAL ITALIAN ice-cream. It’s not a restaurant that I would go back to.

I ate here with three other people mid week and none of us left impressed. Had the antipasto to start which was ok, and the fillet with peppercorn sauce, rare. Steak was over done came out medium but I ate it anyway, also ordered a lovely valpolicella, which was perfect. The presentation is very dated with chips pilled on the plate, and the chicken dishes my friends ordered were very bland and unimaginative. Fine if you're a fussy eater who doesn't want anything too flavoursome, but I won't be going back anytime soon.

I have eaten here twice and didn't enjoy it either time. First time 4 of us were squashed onto a table that would have been small for 2 people and the second time two of us were put at a table right at the door on a cold winter night with a squeaky door. Food was ok but nothing more. Cheap (but necessarily cheerful) if you go the pizza/pasta route but expensive if you go for meat and veg option. Wouldn't return.

I actually thought this restaurant was very poor. When we arrived we were bundled into a tiny little table by the door, far too close to the family beside us. It took the waiter ages to come to us, the wine was barely drinkable and when the main courses eventually came one of them was cold. My pizza was fine, but the pasta came out not even luke warm, the chicken in it was actually cold and it seemed as if someone had just shown the dish a microwave for a few seconds. We tried to get our waiters attention but to no avail and when he finally came and we complained he snapped the food away without saying a word, we were left waiting another ten minutes before someone else came over and apologised and offered us a free dessert which was also of the generic bought in variety. A very poor and unenjoyable evening.

What better way to eat on Easter Sunday than to go to this restaurant. It wasn’t my first time there but my first experience was different than the second. The first time the service was slow, they mixed up orders, we had to wait longer than usual and that’s not what you want happening. But what I did like was the fact they made up for it for offering us two bottles of wine and beers for everyone at the table for the disaster they had created. The second time, although busier seemed to come across really well. All staff were on the ball, the food was great and I wasn’t paying so I am not too sure on the final bill. But I don’t think it was too cheap. But highly recommendable.

The service was good they were very busy when we arrived but I didn’t mind waiting a few extra minutes to order. I had a caprese to start that was fantastic, buffalo mozzarella to die for, then had risotto with mushrooms, They were both fantastic. The portions are just right. The food is VERY reasonably priced and there is a real Italian feel to the restaurant. Great.

Found this place at odds with some other reports and sadly undeniably average and overall, just middle of the road! I probably spend too many breaks in Italy and have a lot to compare this place to! The environment is nice enough, but the comfort of chairs don't encourage you to stay for long! The menu is too long and the quality of food OK but nothing special. The high spots - the service is good and the house Chianti is too! The lowest point - the olives are Yuk - I would have hoped an Italian restaurant could get that little aspect right!

We ate there last Saturday night and it was a very good experience. More a casual style restaurant or somewhere to eat before going out for a few drinks. All the food was very good and well priced. If you are booking make sure and ask to be near the front as we got stuck beside the open plan kitchen (a bit noisy and too bright). Service was good, quick but not too fast. The only negative point was that one of our party is allergic to dairy so there was NO dessert that she could have. We will be going back again though

Bellagio is my "local" Italian and I have to say, I have a very soft spot for it! They are always extra-welcoming when you arrive, and if you are a regular they will move mountains to get you a table on a busy night, even if you don't have a booking. The menu is rather more authentic than a lot of "Irish-Italian" restaurants, with a heavy emphasis on veal and seafood. However, there is also a huge range of pastas and pizzas, and in fact, I have often found myself rendered almost unable to choose a main from the huge range on offer! However, definite highlights of the menu are the Crostini al Proscuitto Crudo, Filetto al Monte Bianco and the Filetto Balsamico. The rosemary sautéed potatoes are also an absolute must. The wine list is entirely Italian (although they sometimes have a bottle of Chilean stashed for those who know to ask!) and the house wine is very reasonably priced at €13.50 a bottle. I do believe that may be the cheapest in Dublin. And being a regular, every time I've eaten in here, I've been offered a complimentary sambuca or limoncello at the end of the meal (even at lunch!) I do have to admit that I think the service has deteriorated slightly since the old manager, Alberto left, but Bellagio is still well worth a visit.

Having read the previous review, which is probably very valid, I feel I must comment. My partner & I have been to Bellagio's on many occasions since April 2006. Not once have we been disappointed by anything associated with this restaurant. We have been there for early-birds, midweek meals, Saturday night treats, or Friday "been too lazy to cook" nights!! Every time we have a meal there, we come away knowing that our Nuevo Country of Rip-Off-Ireland hasn't completely gripped the nation. The food is fantastic and there's enough of a variety to satisfy most palates. The service is excellent; the staff are friendly and polite. However, I can’t comment on lunch time meals, and maybe this is one area that could be addressed. But we have been there enough to know that families (as mentioned in a previous review of this restaurant) are a fact of life and it’s a testament to the fact that it has a very friendly & family orientated atmosphere. We have brought many friends here too, and not once have any of the party been disappointed. Overall, I think Bellagio’s should keep up the good work and I would encourage people to dine there, as restaurants like these are too often closing due to not getting the custom.

I went there recently for what I hoped to be a quick lunch. There was only one waiter serving so it took him 15 minutes to take my order. The food took a long time to arrive and it certainly was not worth the wait. The portions were very small and the general atmosphere in the restaurant was not good. The fact that the people either side of me had crying children did not help this.
