I tried my first proper galettes when I was living in France and I was dubious as to whether or not the quality had made the transfer across the water. I was not disappointed. I've been to Fafies many times. It's one of my favourites for a casual, low-key meal with anyone who's visiting Dublin. The veggie options are equally as good as their meaty counterparts. I've always been too full to try the dessert versions! If you're looking for frills, this is not the place for you, but for quality of food and authenticity, you won't get better. Check the opening times on the website before you go.

The only true French crèperie in town. Not sure how long it will be with us but have nothing but happy memories here. The staff are so sweet and personal, which is part of the reason most of their clientèle are regulars like myself. Food is great and even healthy, with excellent fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is cosy and homey and they always have great music on. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

You will not taste buckwheat crepes as good as these anywhere! The choices are fantastic, cheeses, meats, vegetables - every crepe is made to order, so deliciously fresh. I went for lunch and had a fab emental, sundried tomatoe and a fried egg right in the centre. I've also been for breakfast, where the breakfast menu differs to lunch and is as delicious. It's a really small restaurant and the seats are tightly packed together so dont expect much privacy but the crepes make up for it.

What a disappointment.. We had the Groupon voucher, and had received the message, that explained the extended validity of the voucher due to the renovation work taking place, but were very rudely turned away. We were not the only ones, either. No apologies, they simply told the voucher has no value, and asked us to turn to Groupon. Groupon handled the after work very well, where as Faties really fell short in their service. I have no idea of the quality of the food, and I have no intention to go and find out either. Dublin is very good place to live in that sense, that there are plenty of choices on dining and even on these niche players.

A French colleague suggested this place to me a few years ago, but somehow I never managed to get there. I bought a voucher online and we decided to go on a Saturday lunch time before heading off to the movies. It was the most delicious buckwheat crepes I have ever tasted. Mine had emmental cheese, ham, spinach, sundried tomato and a fried egg on. My husband had emmental cheese, bacon and egg. I love the way they fold the galettes. My only regret is that we didn't pay a visit sooner. It is cosy inside with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely return and recommend it to others.

I've been to Britany a few times and have virtually lived on crepes and galettes when I do, but in Ireland I never bother with them anywhere as they're just nowhere near the quality, until now. I got a voucher online and thought I'd try out Fafies and am very glad I did. It was just as good as any I ever had in Britany. The service was very poor on the day as they were too busy from their online voucher deal, but the staff were friendly and did the best they could. I see they're expanding now, so hopefully they'll be able to cope with the increased demand as I'll definitely be going back. It's not as good value as you would get in Britany, but then nothing in Dublin is. The food is very tasty and a lovely varied menu.

This place is amazing. It's quite small but it has a wonderfully authentic and friendly atmosphere with friendly staff. Great place for a cheap and interesting bite to eat. They've definitely found a real niche for themselves. I had the galette provencale - delicious! Can't wait to go back and try some more varieties. I think this is going to become a lunch time/ brunch favourite.

This was my second time to visit Fafies and it was just as good this time round. I went because I wanted a Galette and they are gluten free-made with buckwheat flour. The chef even made up a batter with water instead of milk for me so that it would be dairy free aswell. The food is so tasty and authentic and frsh. I has the Green Goat galette - goats cheese, spinach and pine nuts. Very reasonable priced and it's a quaint little place off Camden Street, great for catching up with a friend and the service is very good.

What can I say about Fafies! AMAZING! The staff are so friendly the crepes, salad and cider are the best I have ever tasted....even in France...the places is truely authentic! The sining room is small but I would't ever feel cramped in it. You can see some of the kitchen as the cook hums to some music!

I visited Fafies when my original venue for lunch was closed and am very glad that I did. Fafies is small, with a good atmosphere and we were lucky to get a table without having to wait. There's a great range of savoury fillings available which makes choosing very difficult. I opted for spinach, goat's cheese and pine nuts which was delicious. There is also a small range of wines on offer. I also managed a dessert crepe which was lucious and chocolatety - I didn't eat again until breakfast the next day! I will definitely be back, and next time, I'll try out their French cider.

We dropped into Fafies on a miserably wet & cold December night and were very happy with our visit. Their savoury galettes are filling and delicious and my only (fairly lame) complaint that the extensive menu makes it very very tough to decide what to get. Opting for a big blue with extra mushrooms though, I realised I had made the right choice. Throw in a generous and inexpensive pitcher of red wine and you've got a perfect light meal. We were in a rush to get to a gig so didn't have time to try the sweet crepes (in fact, the waitress almost seemed upset that we didn't want more food) but on the next visit I'll allow more time to try as much as possible and assuage the fears of the waitress :)

Fafies has always been one of my favourite places to eat. I live close by and I try to visit at least once a week in the evening time as it's a cut above anywhere else in the area. I'll now also have to start calling in for lunch. I got a take away coffee this morning and noticed their new lunch menu. A galette for under €7 represents amazing value. Great staff too. Can't recomend this place highly enough.

One of my favourite places to eat, I wish it were closer to where I live so I could go there more often. I can't think of a nicer lunch than A Crazy Goat in the Ocean gallette with side salad and a really good coffee afterwards. I never have room for a sweet crepe. The service is great and the quality of the food is worth twice what they charge.

This is the only place I know that serves authentic French galettes. I've tried many different combinations and found them all delicious. The owners seem to value using organic foods. I would highly recommend this place.

I recently visited this French creperie for the first time in search of good coffee and a cheap lunch. I found both. I had a savoury buckwheat (apparently it's healthier) crepe with spinach, ham and emmenthal cheese, which left no room for the sweet crepes on offer. Instead, I had an excellent 'triple certified' coffee-no, I hadn't heard of it either. It comes with halo included-organic, fairtrade and no damage to the rainforest. All for about a tenner. I'll be back soon to try the sweet crepes.

Went here for some breakfast/lunch last sunday , the crepes were indeed very tasty I had the nutella one with hazelnuts which was very good, other people on our table has some savoury ones, which come with a small side salad. Some nice fair trade tea, indeed a good option for some brunch or lunch!

I really love this place. It's very small and always busy so it can be hard to get a table sometimes. The crepes are delicious. The last time I was there I had a savoury one with cheese and ham and then a spiced cinnamon apple one with icecream. I think it can be great value for money if you chose carefully from the menu. You can realistically get two crepes (packed with food) and a coffee for less than €20 and you definitely won't be hungry afterwards. I'd highly recommend this place for an alternative brunch or lunch.

Found this place by complete accident. Why had I not heard of it before? I ordered the Jamón, Jamón galette (€8.45), which was made with Serrano ham, fresh mozzarella, spinach and crème fraîche. A great place to enjoy genuine French crepes. Small quibble would be the ventilation. Can get very stuffy with the constant frying of the crepes.

Excellent authentic French crepes, as good as you would find anywhere in Brittany, and there is something to suit everybody in their extensive menu. Service is very casual though, which is also authentic French, and value for money is debateable based on what you are getting.

Gorgeous crepes, my Crazy Goat in the Sea made me very happy indeed. Loads of filling options, very much looking forward to when strawberrys come back into season so I can try their strawberry and icecream combos. Service can be a bit on the slow side but it's just more time to relax with a nice coffee and people watch. Always a load of french people in there, has to be a good sign!

Mouth watering, superb crepes!!! Best I've ever had and I am a real pancake lover. The choise is enormous but the menu reads like a good book. Savoury and sweet crepes with all possible and imaginable fillings. Lovely ambience of a nice and cosy French cafe. Friendly service. And a bit of suspence while waiting for your meal... but belive me, it's worth a wile!

This is based on many visits, generally on a Thursday night before going to dance Salsa, therefore with not much time to spare. The staple of this restaurant is buckwheat pancakes. Buckwheat is good for you, as explained on a placard in the restaurant, and the choice of fillings in the actual pancakes will not upset people with food allergies and people like me who have to be careful to stay trim. The variety in the savoury menu is astounding, from roasted vegetables to salmon through reblochon cheese... the chef and the staff are French, so they know the real thing. In Brittany, pancakes are served with a bowl (!) of cider, but it titles a lot less than Bulmer’s, so here you'll have to settle for apple juice (good). And for dessert? You can of course have a sweet pancake ... but wait a few minutes after finishing your "main" pancake before ordering your dessert, as the mains are generously served, come with a green salad and are pleasantly filling, while giving you bucketfuls of energy. We generally go Salsa after the meal -- until 1 am without major interruptions --and where most foods will have your energy levels would drop drastically after 1-2 hours, buckwheat keeps you going. Service is pleasant, but the cook can only make 2 pancakes every 4 minutes, so ... be patient. And if the place is full (not uncommon), bear in mind that there is a very well packaged takeaway service. Vive les crepes...

Went here on Pancake Tuesday and wasn't disappointed as the pancakes were gorgeous. It's a lovely small place that seems to be run by a French woman who knows her crepes. My only complaint is that the service was particularly slow but I will still return again.

Fafies is a lovely little place for a lunchtime snack. The crepes are delicious and they use some imaginative ingredients as fillings. At Fafies, they really perfect the Breton delicacy. Having tasted many crepes in Brittany, I can truely say that Fafies lived up to my expectations

Great little place. Today we tried the spinach and pine nut savoury crepe and the apple cinnamon sweet crepe. Both were delicious and the only critisism is the apple crepes needed a little more filling (but maybe this is the way they are meant to be). The service is charming and the atmosphere cute. Price is reasonable. Would go again.

I've just had a lovely lunch at Fafie's. I really enjoyed my spinach and emmental galette - simple but delicious. It's made with buckwheat so makes it feel slightly less sinful! The atmosphere is lovely - French music, and the staff chatting away in French in the background.
