I have had lunch in Pinots a number of times in recent weeks both in the cafe (upstairs) and bistro (downstairs - hope I've got that right!). The meatballs with couscous from the regular lunch menu which is excellent value - were very tasty. I also really enjoyed the wild mushroom risotto in the downstairs venue - well presented, tasty, good portion size and not overly priced. Atmostphere is relaxed in a lovely, comfortable setting. Some earlier teething problems with the service - not so much from the staff attending table but from the managers watching their every move intently - was quite unnerving but thanksfully seems to have eased recently. Overall a very nice new lunch venue for the area.

I went to this restaurant for the first time three weeks ago and have to say that it was a great discovery. Good quality food is served at very reasonable prices and the staff are very efficient and friendly. The menu offers a good variety of food, none of which disappoints. On lat visit, had the soup to start which was very good, then had the beer battered fish and chips which is delicious and finally had the nage of berries for dessert which was delicious.

Yum, just back from my lunch in Pinot's. Nice, classy place...different from your usual grab and go middle-of-work lunch break place. My partner and I shared the chicken liver pate for starters from reading reviews of how delicious it is - it didn't disappoint. I had the meatballs and she had the jumbo sausages - both very tasty! I'd definitely be intrigued to return.

Ate here last night with two friends after reading some pretty good reviews. We opted for the cafe upstairs and from the moment we arrived we were greeted very warmly and this was carried throughout the evening. We all three chose the Goats cheese starter and while goats cheese has been on many menus, I can honestly say this was the best I have ever tasted. the dressing on the salad, the caramelised walnuts and pickled pear all worked together beautifully. The only complaint was that the portion was large and more suited to a main. The three mains were the battered fish, curry and chicken quesadillas. The curry and fish were pronounced superb and i had the quesadilas. These were ok - nice filling but dry around the edges. The portion of stringy fries were gorgeous - crispy and tasty. We passed on deserts as we were full. For this quality, the service and the prices this restaurant is well worth a visit For those of you who enjoy an after dinner ciggie there is a lovely outdoor secluded area with soon to be added cover and patio heaters. Nice way to kick back with a drink after your meal..

I've been here 3 times already, within the past 8 weeks and can't see myself getting bored with it. Great food, great service, and the best value around!

Myself and my partner ate here last night. We were passing by and dropped in just in before the last orders at 8pm and I'm glad we did! I was there before when it was South and thought it was over priced and a bit pretentious but not so now. It had a nice chilled atmosphere, the service is excellent and very friendly. The menu is quite small but there was a lot that I wanted on it. I had the Moroccon meatballs with cous cous and it was delicious. The cous cous was light and fluffy and the meatballs were very tasty. My partner had the burger which looked a bit small but was really fresh and homemade tasting and the relish on it was delicious. We also asked for a side order of onion rings and these were gorgeous, the nicest batter I've had in a long time! Overall I was very impressed and will definitely be back to try the other dishes on the menu.

We're just back from Pinot's. One of the reasons we tried it was because it was recommended in the monthly F&W magazine. Big mistake! It was also close to Dundrum Shopping centre after our Sunday movie. We made reservations for the bistro as the menu online looked more interesting than the cafe menu. Be warned, the menu we were given was nothing like what they had online. There was a choice of 5 starters and 4 main courses. Cocktails were not available for some reason and we were not given any explanation. Just "Oh we don't have that today". I was quite tempted to say " Well, what do you have?" My dining companion had the carpaccio of beetroot and pickled mackerel which was quite tasty. That's pretty much it. The main courses, which were tempura cod for myself, and pan fried hake, was not only boring, but also extremely bland. To use the word tempura instead of battered is quite misleading considering tempura should technically be a specific type of batter and prepared in a specific way. It was glorified fish and chip which would have cost cheaper and tasted better elsewhere. This was probably one of the least exciting and disappointing meal I've had in Dublin in a long time. I won't be heading back there any time soon.

I visited Pinot unexpectedly and loved it. We ate downstairs and although it's a big space the noise from upstairs gave the whole place a great athmosphere. The food was excellent (pate and pork belly) and plenty of it. In fact my only complaint was that the potato and bean sides we ordered were far too much for two people, which then worried me about waste! I can't wait to try upstairs now!

would not waste my money here again, airport terminal type of restaurant with service which is non existent and clueless, myself and my husband went for early dinner and while the menu promises much it certainly does not deliver, very poor food more suitable for a quick feed than anything else, when you put a dish on ie caprese with crusty bread" please deliver and dont look shocked when someone comments about it not coming with the aforementioned bread, I mean come on 8.50 for a couple of slices of tasteless imported tomatoes not even Irish with a piece of mozzarella if you can call it that is quiet shocking!

My husband and I had dinner there last night. We ate in the Cafe upstairs. The food was very good. My absolute favourite was the Chicken Pate. Divine! We both had starter, main courses and desert and a few drinks. The bill came to 70 euro - great value for money. Will definitely go back.

Ate here on a Sat night with my boyfriend after reading great reviews on Menupages. Was a bit confused as the menu we read on the website was nothing like the menu we were given in the restaurant - turns out there are seperate menus for the cafe (upstairs) and the bistro (downstairs). So given that we were expecting mussels, steak sandwich, and fish & chips, we were suprised to see fois gras and chicken terrine on the menu! On with the review - the mains were very tasty - we had steak and sea bass, both of which were perfectly cooked and some gorgeous baby potatoes on the side. We started with smoked salmon and chicken terrine which were ok but nothing special. The service was excellent, couldn't fault it. On the downside, the menu is on the small side so I would run out of dishes that I would order after another visit. We will definitely go back to try the cafe menu next.

Went early evening after work. Good experience from when we walked in the door. Friendly welcome, efficient and relaxed approach by staff. Food delicious, portions generous. Very generous glass of wine, a pet hate of many people 125mls wine for 7.50euros !! Not here, they have it right. You leave having had a pleasurable experience and not feeling ripped off. I really hope this restaurant suceeds, it deserves to do well if it continues as is. Will be a regular haunt for us.

This was my first time in the restaurant and I have to say I was very impressed. It was busy for a tuesday night. The food is reasonable priced. Staff are friendly. The Fried Calamari is the best I've had in Dublin. I was really impressed with the presentation of the food. I will definitely be back.

Ate in the cafe for dinner on Saturday night after reading Paolo Tullio's glowing review. We were not disappointed. Started with a big bowl of soup which was delicious, followed this with the steak sandwich which was beautifully served on a slate and came rare as requested. Just about made room for a chocolate brownie desert. Others I was with had the likes of calamari and Thai green curry everyone only had good to say. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, have read other reviews reporting teething problems with the service all I can say is that I certainly didn't witness any so they seem to have got into their stride now. Main courses of this quality for 11euro I will find it hard to justify eating elsewhere. Will definitely be back!

I live nearby Pinot’s and have popped in a few times now. Each time I have visited the food has been of a very high standard and at a very reasonable price. One example of this is (my first visit to Pinot’s) when myself, brother and friend had breakfast early one weekday morning. We all ordered a breakfast and a cappuccino each. The food was (again) of a high standard and presented extremely well. The bill was only €28!! I have to say I was expecting it to be more considering the quality. The interior design of the Café (Ground foor) is what all café should look like (modern and fresh). I have heard that the restaurant downstairs is now also open and I will be making a booking to eat there asap! Safe to say i like the place ;-) Good to have a restaurant like this one in South Dublin!

Dropped in early evening after work last week. The room feels a bit like an airport terminal and needs a big crowd to create an atmosphere. It was very quiet when we were there yet the staff still showed signs of newly opened nerves. The food was ok and reasonably priced. Chicken pie was bowl of decent filling with a small pastry square on top ( this was hard and not good to eat). It came with very tasty mashed potato. I will probably give Pinots a while to find their feet and then give them another try.

Restaurant was a little vacuous and as there were only three groups of people there it lacked a little atmosphere. The food was divine and extremely good quality for a lunch menu. It was extremely child friendly and the staff were extremely courteous. Service was a little slow and the toilets could have done with a little freshening up if I was totally honest but overall we will be back.

i work in the area so popped in here on a lunch break a few weeks ago with 4 work colleagues - we were all very impressed - much nicer than we expected. really nice decor/settings and i love the green color scheme going on. i had the chicken caesar wrap and the others had a mixture of chicken caesar salad, mussels, and burgers - we all loved them and our plates were empty by the end. my only complaint would be the service - seemed a bit all over the place but i know it's only newly opened so it's probably teething problems. lunch for 5 of us was €44!!! cheap or what considering the standard of food! will definitely be back

Disappointing is probably the best word I could use to describe our lunch at Pinot's recently. Decided to try Pinot's out for a light lunch early Saturday afternoon. The decor and ambiance were excellent and had a great vibe to the place. Unfortunately this is about where the positives stopped. We were told to take a seat in the bar area whilst they got a table ready in the cafe section. After about fifteen minutes of waiting I got up and asked if it was possible to place our order. We were abruptly informed that we cannot order whilst in the bar area, but had to wait until we were seated in the cafe area. This made absolutely no sense to me, especially considering that there were at least five tables empty in the cafe area, but just hadn't been cleaned from previous guests. Eventually we were seated and our orders taken. It would seem only one staff member ( the manager? ) is allowed to take the orders, so be prepared for another long wait ! When our order did arrive after sometime, it was incorrect - had specifically asked for Caesar salads without chicken, but came with chicken. By this stage we were in a hurry to leave so just accepted the order. To top things off when we asked for the bill it would seem that only one specific person can print off the bill so this resulted in an even further delay? Whilst I realise that Pinot's has only been open a few weeks, the service aspect was really disappointing. Pinot's is advertised as a cafe/bar/bistro, so one would expect simple, quick food. Not an hour and a half for a one course lunch! Most of the other tables around us were also complaining, yet there seemed to be very little apology forthcoming. I think they need to spend a bit of time training the staff and sorting out their service issues. If not, I dont think this restaurant will last long.
