Had lunch here today, has to have been the worst asian meal I've ever eaten. Two of us had starters, the spring roll was oozing with oil, however my monkfish starter was good. The Nasi Goreng was pretty bad,the aubergine wasn't cooked and it was very oily, the Pad Thai was probably the best main but again was dripping with oil!!!!.The Tempura Prawns hadn't even been deveined..At nearly 60 euro its not cheap but at any price this would be bad.he staff were very pleasant.

Very poor! went for the early bird 3 course 20quid! Not worth it to say the least! Shocked when I seen the a la cart prices. Would have not paid for my meal if I was paying them prices... Lovely building and nice setting, However unlucky the kitchen let its self down.

Ate here for the first time recently with some friends. We availed of the early bird which was great value particularly considering you can order anything off the menu. The service was excellent, we were all going to order the combination platter for starters but the waitress advised thats a lot of food and she suggested 2 platters and a different starter. Glad we went with her suggestion as the platters were huge - definitely worth trying out though, the selection and size was great, the beef dish was to die for. All our mains were great and they have a great selection of wine by the glass which I always love. Only complaint was it was pretty empty - only two other tables full - so a bit lacking in atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Went out last night (Monday) for the early bird deal with my brother and my wife. For the record i eat out a fair bit and this is the first restaurant that i've given full marks in all categories. The early bird is up till 7 pm and it's for 2 courses. Two of us ordered the platter which was priced at €12.95 each on the normal menu.I was delighted that there was no suplement. It was fab.We also ordered monkfish pieces that were to die for. all the mains were 10/10 2 sizzling beef dishes and a thai red curry. I would highly recommend trying this place out, lovely bar also for a drink before/after. Most enjoyable meal out for a long time.

I went here last year and have been meaning to go again as it was such a good experience. I went with a friend who knows the staff and they were all very lovely and attentive. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and I love the seating arrangements. We were actually waiting quite a long time for our food, but it was quite busy and there were about 8 of us in our group. The portions were large and we all shared our food as there was loads to go round. I really want to go back again soon as there are so many things on the menu that I'd love to try!

The food was fantastic!!, and i would definately go there again, but i have to say the service was bad :( considering we were the only people in the place dining for a confirmation, so it was early, it was very slow and he made a mistake with one of the orders, and there was only 5 of us but the waiter was friendly and i felt a bit sorry for him! also the restaurants not closed off and its right beside the bar, so as the bar filled up it got very noisy, but its did have a good atmosphere for the right occasion.

i was lucky enough recently to win a night in the Beacon Hotel and myself and my wife booked in for last Friday night. the hotel is lovely, well laid out and the room we had was excellent. We had heard nothing but good reports about My Thai so we were really looking forward to it. I have to say that it did not live up to expectations. We were hungry and as everything on the menu looked tempting we decided to go for 3 starters (greedy, i know) and two mains. We had the soft shell crab tempura, the mussels and the crispy beef salad. All, i'm sad to say disappointed, the mussels were small and there were a lot of empty shells with no meat in them. the softshell crab was tasty but only two small pieces among a forest of lettuce. the beef was the best but still not matching its menu description. We had a lamb curry and duck for main courses. Again they were acceptable but not exceptional. We very much enjoyed the fact that we could have a couple of drinks without the worry of driving but were disappointed that we hadn't had the wonderful Thai meal we had been expecting.

Had dinner here on the Sunday evening and it was only fantastic. We have eaten here many times and the quality is still the same from the the first time we visited. The atmosphere was not great that day and neither was the service but the food makes up for all that. We will be returning very soon

Lordy!! The only problem with this place is that the bar, the restaurant and reception are all open plan on the ground floor. There was an office do on the night we went and I do not exagerrate when I say that I really thought I was at a rave. I had come with my husband for a QUIET dinner...it was extremely difficult to hear over the din! We contemplated leaving but realised that it was too late to go anywhere else. We stayed and I'm glad we did, the food was lovely - we had tempura of monkfish and chicken satay to start - both fabulous. I had the sizzling fish platter and my husband had a green chicken curry for mains, which were just beautiful. The service was extremely friendly and efficient. If you go here it might be worth checking whether there is going to be a 'disco' in reception on your intended night or not....or that might be your thing??

ate here last weekend with a group of girls as part of a beacon special. we all got thai tapas an they were delicious. there was a good range of things to try for everyone and the thai prawn crackers had a lovely kick off them. Cannot wait to go back an eat there again to try more from the menu.

Very nice, cosy restaurant! Visited here for a second time for my parents 25th anniversary... The place was quite busy as it was a Saturday night. We arrived as a party of 4 and were seated promptly. The staff were very pleasant throughout the meal and everyone enjoyed their meals... An added bonus was that we received 10% off the bill as we had spent over 100e (part of one of their special offers). All in all a very nice local restaurant with good food!

I ate here with my husband and we were very impressed. The service was fast and friendly. Our waiter was very helpful advising us on different dishes. The curry was superb and the vegetarian dish I had was super. There was a nice buzz to the place. Price-wise it was very reasonable. We will be back.

This is my second visit and it still gets the thumbs up. I had the vegetable tempura to start with and steamed sea bass with ginger/soya sauce. Very nice! I think sometimes because of its location it gets overlooked but worth a visit.

Dined here yesterday evening. The atmosphere and layout is pleasant - no complaints, the service is very good but the food was very disappointing. I ordered the Lamb massuman curry. The sauce was very flavourful but the meat was really tough and I left most behind. The desert and wine were enjoyable but the main course is what I was looking forward to. My guest ordered off the bar's european menu and was equally uninspired. Pity, because it is a very pleasant environment in which to dine.

Got take-away from here. Thought it was delicious, and really good value - €35 for 3 mains and a starter. Only question would be why we got a seperate box with cucumber and pineapple pieces in it - very random!!! Pad thai was absolutely delicious, and good portion size. Nazi Goreng was good too, but a bit on the big side. Will defo return, highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I came here to avail of the offer provided my meupages where we got €20 off a maincourse. We had to order starter and main course. While the setting is nice we were disappointed with the food. We got duck springroll to start and there was little if any duck in it. it was all shoots and carrots and a very greasy pastry. For main course my boyfriend got spicy noodles and I got red thai curry. The duck in my curry was dried out and I did not eat most of it. THe sauce and rice were pretty good if not very spicy. My boyfriends noodles were basically noodles and oil and he didn't eat it. I had 2 glasses of wine and the bill still came to 45euros. I would have raging if I had had to pay the full amount of 65 as the meal definitely wasn't worth it- I felt like I was eating a bad takeaway and I certainly won't be back

Went here for a meal with my partner, and loved it. There was a nice ambience, not too busy, not too quiet. The food was absolutely delicious, as was the fruity Chardonnay that we opted for. I had the warm beef salad to start with, along with the prawn dish for mains. Both were amazing, and I would go so far as to say the prawns were the nicest I've ever tasted! My partner had the combo platter for starters which included prawns, beef, chicken and he really enjoyed it. He had the steak for mains, which he thought was ok, but not the tenderest. For dessert, I had the Chocolate ganache pudding...highly recommended for chocolate lovers everywhere! To die for. Some bad points are that it's sooo far out of town-and very hard to find in Sandyford - we didn't know it was part of the Beacon Hospital, so we were searching for ages, had to ask directions eventually! The meal was also quite expensive, with the bill coming to over 80 euros AFTER a €20 discount being applied. But all in all, I did love the food here, and the service was good - so I would come back!

went here for a meal with my partner. it was beautiful, we shared starters chicken satay skewers and crispy beef salad both were delicious and ample food. for mains roast duck and sweet Thai chilli chicken again huge portions. the atmosphere was very vibrant and lively on a Friday night. staff were lovely, very accommodating, attentive but not over the top. its not the cheapest but Thai food rarely is. would eat hear again but save it for a special occasion.

Well as promised I returned to My Thai although we arrived at 10pm when they were closing, there was no problem with ordering food. This place just gets better and I would recommend it for anyone in the area as it is a must. The staff are more than friendly and very hospitable and they did not seem to be in any hurry to get us out to clear up. Thanks to all

i stayed in the beacon hotel last night and availed of the dinner bed and breakfast deal. that was pretty reasonable for 150 euro. the restaurant had low lighting and candles at each table and nice relaxing music was playing in the background. for starter i had the monkfish and for my main i had the sea bass. they were both quite nice. i do not eat meat, mainly fish and there was a good selection. the only downside would be that we were left waiting up to 40 minutes for our plates to be collected ( there were inly two couples in the restaurant at this time including us) and wehn they eventually did, we had to approach a member of staff to ask could we order dessert. it made me feel quite akward.

Recently stayed in the Beacon Hotel and booked the Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package, which I have to say was fantastic value as there was no set menu. The staff where very pleasant and friendly and the food was quite tasty. The aromatic duck was really good to start. I had the prawns which where delicious and my boyfriend went for the steak. The one thing I would say is the rice is quite bland. Altogether a good dining experience though it's just unfortunate it's not located closer to the city centre!

Pleasant experience. Good quality food and friendly staff. Even though advertised on Menupages Early Bird no longer available. Waiter told us that instead of Early Bird 30% would be deducted from all items on menu. When bill arrived deduction did not amount to 30%. Somewhat annoying - otherwise enjoyable experience.

Went there for lunch with two colleagues. Restaurant was very busy. We ordered some tea and coffees and the tea was luke warm when it arrived. Then we ordered the wonton soup broth with rice noodles and when it arrived, there was no rice noodles. And it came with brown bread and butter! I am not sure whether My Thai understand the concept of Asian dinning but you just won't serve Asian soup with bread! It is like serving green tea with milk and sugar. Anyway, then when I asked the waiter about the rice noodles, he was quite rude and said that he is just a waiter he doesn't know anything! Well, a waiter supposed to know the menu! So, he went off to ask the chef and then came back to take the dish away admitting that it was a mistake. When it came back, the dish was 'dump' in a bit plate with very 'sad' lump looking wonton and some rice noodle. It was luke warm also and it tasted disgusting. I had really good experience before in this restaurant but I think the standard has slipped very quickly. I won't come back again. I would rather starve!

We were there about 6pm on Sunday and it was quiet with plenty of tables available. The menu was limited compared to other Thai/Indian restaurants we use. The food was good but not memorable and service was ok. Deserts over priced we felt.Toilets were not up to scratch hand dryer not working in gents and only one of four cubicle's working in ladies. Parked in underground car park and it cost €7.50 for our stay. Overall not impressed and would not hurry back.

Very busy night (for a Tuesday) when were were there - a nice buzz. I think they were understaffed in the kitchen though !! Starters nice - Veg tempura and duck. Main's only OK. I got my sizzling beef 10 mins before the hubby got his main course. This meant the noodles were stuck to the sizzling platter by the time i got to got them hence i left half of them. Not really in a mad rush to go back. Have to say the menu is pretty limited too compared to other Thai restaurants i frequent.

Went with my sister as we were staying in the Beacon hotel. Staff very helpful, and food was lovely. The only thing that would put me off going back is that I think the hotel if a bit out of the way, and not really within walking distance to anywhere. They also serve some of the restaurant food on the bar menu, which is 20% of between 6 and 7, mon-fri, which is good value

After seeing the voucher advertised for 20 euro off when you order two meals and reading the reviews on menu pages we decided to try My Thai at the Beacon Hotel on Friday night. We had a lovely meal the staff where very friendly. We started with chicken satay and duck parcels we cleared are plates for our mains we had Thai red curry and prawn tempura, the prawns were particular nice, we finished with tea and coffee no dessert we had a carafe of red wine and a pint of Guinness less the voucher the meal was 56 euro very good value. The voucher makes it worth the trip we received another voucher to use again with the bill so we will be back.

Went for dinner, to try it out. Reservation was easy and was not difficult to find. Arrived there early, so as it was not busy yet, was easy to choose table. Waiter who served us displayed superb service!! He advised on meals and knows his recommendations! Food was generous and filling. Did not have to wait long for food. Taste was brilliant. Will go there again soon. They also deliver!!!!

Had dinner for a group of six on Saturday night. The volume of the D.J's music was the only poor point - otherwise the food, ambience and service were spot on. The Itek Danduk - Duck in plum sauce with cashew rice is particularly good. Definately would go back.

I love everything about this place. The food is amazing, especially the Thai Green Curry (you have to try it) They give you large portions of everything. The staff are all really friendly. The atmosphere is so nice and relaxing with funky music in the background. I love the large openplan ltchen too.. I have tried several dishes on the Menu and everthing has been great. I have no problem travelling from Drumcondra to dine here.. Its perfect!

Visited My Thai for lunch recently with 2 friends. The restaurant itself was virtually empty, but it is a nice venue. The lunch menu is quite varied, with some usual lunch dishes like eggs florentine and then a range of Thai dishes too. Its a strange mix - its a thai restaurant so i would have expected only thai food. Anyway, i ordered Singapore noodles which were gorgeous. Just spicy enough, and a really large portion. My friends had the spring rolls, which again were lovely, we were expecting quite a small plate, but the portion that came out was really big. The other dish we had was eggs florentine. My friend doesnt eat butter, and this was covered in butter. It was sent back, but it took ages for the new dish to arrive. Service was on the slow side. Again, there seemed to be a lot of butter in the Hollandaise sauce, so she couldnt eat it. Overall, the Thai food was lovely, i would stick to Thai if i was eating here again. Its a funny hotel, located right in an industrial estate. Not sure if i would return, but the Thai food is good.

Ate here recently. Chicken Curry was only ok, bit spicy for my liking. My husband ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and NO Prawns and it arrived with Prawns and no Chicken....very disappointing. Thiought it was over priced and not very enjoyable

This is a great Thai restaurant! The Atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are fantastic. The food is to die for. I love the mixed platter starter. The sea bass main course is the nicest sea bass I have ever tasted and their crème brulee tastes like "a little cup of heaven"...so good I once ordered 2 of them...disgraceful I know! My partner is not a huge fan of Thai food, but My Thai is one of his favourite restaurants now! When I brought my mother and family here last year for her birthday I asked them to make a cake for her. I am still recovering from the shock at how utterly beautiful it was and amazing value for money! Cannot wait to return again soon!!

I ate here this time last year and had a beautiful high quality meal! Ate here two weeks ago and was really let down how much things had changed. It suprised me to see in an economic crisis that we're in that they are willing to loose regular customers but dropping thier food standards, very disappointing. Staff still very helpful and friendly but that was really the only positive.

This place is a bit unusual for a thai restaurant but the food was very nice indeed, the nasi goreng was delicious and a perfect sized portion for lunch, it also has many european salads & sandwiches on the menu which is good for variety if everyone doesn't fancy thai! I diid find it quite expensive for lunch as most thai dishes were €15, but other than that I wouldn't find any fault. the menu listed here must be the evening menu as the lunch one is quite small.

I have been to this restaurant several times. It is ok, but I feel like nothing here is very fresh (especially the meat/fish). I get the feeling they are getting everything from frozen or out of a mix or pre-bought sauces etc. For the price charged, I would expect the food to taste more fresh. One cool thing is that they sometimes serve exotic fruits with some of the dishes and that is sort of cool and goes with the funky atmosphere...but in the end if a majority of the food is not fresh...it is not good.

I live very close to this restaurant and eat here at least three or four times a month! The atmosphere is always super, great music. Definitely more of a night-time venue. HIGHLY recommend the Nasi Goreng, cocktails could do with a bit more kick and a lot less juice! Wine is gorgeous however. Great for a fun date or a group night out.

Went there one night a couple of weeks ago with friends. We weren't sure what to order and the waitress was great - suggested a selection of starters, which we devoured. I had a sizzling seafood platter and it was really tasty. My friends had the green curry and said it was really good. The best bit was that after the meal we had some great cocktails from the adjoining bar. It was a great escape from miserable weather and gloomy news reports!

I went here on a business lunch with a client. Before I made a reservation I checked to see if they served lunch at 3pm, as I know some restaurants do not, they did, so I made the reservation. When I arrived I was told that they no longer serve lunch beyond 2.30pm. This, I was informed, came into effect two weeks ago, unfortunate for me I made the reservation three weeks ago. Putting in call to inform me would have not taken too much effort I felt. They begrudging gave me a table, obviously both my client and I were a bit put out as we were made to feel we were inconveniencing the restaurant. I ordered the chicken tandoori and within a handful of minutes a large cooked chicken breast was served with tandoori sauce and rice...my suspicions were aroused in how they cooked such a large breast thoroughly in such a short time. In summary, no apology was given by the restaurant, I was put in an embarrassing situation in front of a client and the food was substandard. I will definitely not be returning.

My colleague and I went for a business lunch in the restaurant last Thursday. This was our second visit. The decor in the lobby area as a first impression might not be to everyone's taste, certainly a talking point - but the actual seating area is very well laid out and lent itself to a great atmosphere. The restaurant was full, but the service was very friendly and prompt. Slow service at lunch is more than a pet hate. I had the Thai Curry and my friend had the Nasi Goring. The presentation was nothing short of first rate. The taste of the curry was too, as apparently was the Nasi. With coffee - and mineral water to start, and the bill came to less than €45. Ideal for a business or relaxing lunch.

Enjoyed lunch here today - have been a few times before, but not for a while. While the menu is extensive, with (obviously) many oriental choices, we both - conscious of the imminent onset of middle aged spread - both chose smoked salmon. The portions were generous and excellent value at €9.90 each. Must remember to come here more regularly.

I came here with a friend last Friday. It wasn't too busy and we were offered any table to sit at. The atmosphere was lovely and seemed to be a good vibe about the place. Food was really good, there also wasn't too long in between courses but they weren't too close together either. Food was piping hot and full of flavour. Service was really good and there was no rush in moving us out after the meal was finished, I would definitely go back for good Thai cuisine and lovely wine.

I ate here quite recently with friends & I must say we really enjoyed our meal. I had traditional fish cakes for starter, mouth watering duck in plum sauce for main and the nicest creme brulee I've ever tasted. The restaurant overall has a very relaxed atmosphere, very stylishly decorated & boasts of excellent service. Great Value for money all round.Yep we'll be going again!!

I went to My Thai restaurant for my friends birthday and we had a great night. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. The Becan offers everything for a great night or special occassion under the one roof, after our meal we had a few drinks in the trendy bar where we received complimentry cocktails. I would highly recommend!

Have eaten here about 4 times, both for lunch and for dinner and have always been delighted with it. In my experience when having lunch, it has always been served quickly which is handy as I am usually rushing to get back to work. I've had dinner there twice, the second time I was lucky enough to get one of the circular booths. The food has always been of the highest quality, and would rival any other Thai restaurant I have ever eaten in. Would especially recommend the platter to start (if sharing) and the nasi goreng. You won't be disappointed with this place.

I work up in the Sandyford Ind. Estate and forget that this place here so went for lunch yesterday. I got the platter which gives you a taste of everything which was not too bad but would have preferred a proper dish. Surprised the lack of choice on the menu would go again but may try elsewhere first!

Been to My Thai on a few different occasions just for dinner. I'm a big fan of the food here, each time it has been enjoyable. The staff are nice and polite but find that they are always busy. Sometimes you can really be waiting for your food. They are also very slow when you ask for the bill. Never seems like there are enough waiters on!

Have been here for both lunch and dinner and loved both. Recommend the Nasi Goreng and the Bento Box is a great fast way to have a nice healthy lunch, most of all the staff are so friendly and genuinely happy to be serving you, I think it was a manager whom served us when I went for dinner, he was so cordial and pleasant, will definitely be back. I have been here twice, the first time the food was amazing but the service was unbelievably bad. Having waited about 20 minutes to order we finally got our food - but they had brought our main courses first - completely forgot about starters. Our waiter never even bothered to tell us about the mix up and I had to call him over and ask where our food was! We then waited half an hour just to pay. The second time same story, food fine, and service terrible. My husband ordered Sushi and only after they had brought my dinner, did they decide to tell us that there was no Sushi left! I would never go back to this restaurant as the staff, quite frankly, are incompetent.

I have eaten lunch here a few time and the food is nice so is the atmosphere but dinner is very different. The music from the dj is extremly loud (i was in a big group and didnt mind but i cant imagine it would go down well with everyone) i was very dissapointed with the starters, i got crab cakes which was so over powered by chilli and corriander i couldnt taste anything else, the mains were quite nice but not as good as i would expect. I wont be rushing back for dinner but lunch is nice.

had lunch here and really enjoyed it. the menu is quite diverse, you can get the likes of a steak sandwich, or you can plump for some of the more traditional thai cuisine, so there is something to please everyone. but where this restaurant really excels in with its thai fare. im sure i had duck spring rolls but cant find them on the menu on this site. would go back. gorgeous decor too. wow wow wow!

This is a tale of 2 dining experiences. For lunch, the place is fine. Ok Thai food at reasonable prices. However, for evening dining, this place is not cut out for it. Due to the hotel bar being beside the dining area, the DJ music drowns out your conversation with your friends and makes everything very uncomfortable. The services was very poor, and seemed to pay more attention giving free nibbles to the people in the bar than looking after us diners... and the food (for Thai) was very over priced in my opinion. My Pad Thai came in two big lettuce leaves, and it distorted the small portion that lay in it. The dining area itself is clean and open, but it's nothing special and really lacks atmosphere. Definitely not going back during the evening, but still likely to pop along for lunch.

I live very near to the wasteland of Sandyford, and I brought my dad here for a meal for lunch. When are restaurant creators going to realise that reflective surfaces reflect noise...as Irish people talk so much, I give a restaurant a wide berth if I can't hold a normal conversation with someone at a normal distance without raising my voice. This is what is erroneously called "atmosphere" by some reviewers. Atmosphere is when the decor, staff and clientele combine to enhance the overall experience of a meal. This is a noisy restaurant. Service was OK, and staff were pleasant. Food was bad to mediocre. I had some blobby, damp, saggy tasteless lumps of rice that were listed as sushi on the menu. I sent them back and was given an alternative. I wouldn't have fed the sushi to my dog, so who thought it was appropriate for a customer? Did they care? Won't go back.

Pretentious surroundings; over-noisy and small tables. I couldn't have the Steamboat because there was no room at the table for the burner and dishes but no alternative table was offered. More Asian fusion then Thai and the deep fat fryer is heavily used. The fish cakes were stodgy and no mango in the Crab/Mango Salad. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Not only was the worst Thai restaurant I have ever been to, this is definitely one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. We went there for lunch, and was offered a brunch menu with 8 or so brunch type items and only 6 or so Thai dishes. The curry was very, very bland; and after adding copious amounts of chili, it still was not very edible. Their version of the Singapore noodles isn't worth writing home about either.

I visited here with a group of friends for Sunday lunch recently and was very impressed with the menu. Roast Beef traditional Sunday fare, but Nori Make, Sushi and Tempura on the same menu? Great when you're dining with friends who want completely different types of food, one of our party had a delicious omelet. Unfortunately the Tempura batter was thick, and an annoying sweet chilli sauce came with it, not the usual tempura dipping sauce. Excellent Nori Make topped with Caviar. With some effort this could be an excellent restaurant.

I have eaten here a few times and had always recommended it. However I ate there a few weeks back and both myself and a friend had to send the food back. To start with we had to wait over 45 mins for the starter and then around that time again for the main course. I would have understood the delay if the restaurant was busy but there was only about 8 people there at the time and it was midweek. Don’t think I will be going back there for quite a while.

This place is always busy for lunch during the week. We were 6 and service was good. Food was nice. But it became quickly very noisy so will avoid to go back there for lunch.

Did not enjoy this place at all. The food and wine are overpriced and nothing to write home about. The music on a Friday night is also way toooo loud. I was at a booth with 4 people and couldn’t hear a word anyone was saying. The staff are also really smarmy! I wont be going back!

I always leave My Thai a little disappointed, the food is good but it's just the usual fare there is nothing that makes it stand out from all the other Thai restaurants around. The decor is opulent and attractive and the service is fine. I really want to like My Thai in the Beacon more than I do...maybe I need to go there more often :-)

Heard about the restaurant good few years ago from my friend. Thanks to him. I was very pleased with My Thai. Saturday was quite a busy night. The restaurant is part of the bar in the hotel. We got our table half hour late. It suits us anyway, as few of us didn’t really make on time. I have to compliment the waitress and managers who were so attentive and helpful .The decoration is funky and modern. A mix of classic Asian and contemporary. Loved it. Overall, the food was superb and reasonable though my main course was a bit salty for my palate. I will definitely come again ...so are the rest of my 20 friends who turn up that night.

This is a nice restaurant but really just average. Average menu, average food, average service. The only things that stand out are that it’s not central and the decor is nice. Nothing really to complain about, nothing to write home about either.

Although the staff were friendly, the quality of the food was just awful. Tasteless and bland, I would never go here again.

This place is a little gem the decor is lovely (great lighting for a date ladies) and the menu is excellent with something for everyone. The food is really tasty but what makes this place is the very friendly staff. Plus the bar is a good place to have a drink afterwards on Friday nights they have a dj..

Have been here for lunch several times. Food is very tasty and well presented. Its a little pricey for lunch, but a nice treat now and then! Service is good, although once we were moved from our table twice to another table without a reason given. Staff are friendly and attentive though.

Took party there on Saturday night for special occasion. Staff very attentive, friendly but professional. Everyone loved the food, wine were very reasonably priced. Chef came out into restaurant and talked to customers. Atmosphere was great. Can't wait to go back again

The food was absolutely fantastic, along with the modern atmosphere of trendy and up-beat clientele. I would definitely recommend people to try it.

I ate here last Friday the 16th while I was staying in the marvellous Beacon Hotel (the king room will blow you away - simply beautiful) The food in the restaurant was very very nice, portion size was generous and I only had to wait 5 minutes between courses. The chocolate fudge cake for desert was mouth watering. The only bad thing I would have to say and I think it is mentioned below is that the restaurant is basically in the bar, which makes for a very loud night regardless of where about in the place you are seated. For people on a "big" night out who intend on going to the bar afterwards or to a nightclub this is great to get you in the mood, but for a couple on a quiet night out as I was it was a bit of a distraction. Overall though I really enjoyed the food and would come back again that's for sure but maybe during the week. **Also I had to wait a long time for drinks too, Friday night and the bar being busy was the reason I was given, so another reason there to maybe save your visit for a week night.

If you go there on a Friday night, be prepared to have to listen to extremely loud music because there is a DJ in the bar (and the restaurant is more or less part of the bar). We had to shout to hear each other. The food was nice and the service was fast. However, I had a problem with the staff coming over quite often to either fill your glass with more wine or ask you how your food was. Some people might like this but I find it a bit annoying. I don't think I will be going back there anytime soon, well, not on a Friday anyway.

An amazing place! Went there on Saturday night for dinner and drinks with a friend. The interior is fabulous. We had managed to book a table at 8pm even though they usually prefer to run 2 sittings. The place is very dark but the decor gives a really funky edge to the place. Service was excellent even though the place was very busy. The menu is just the right length (not too long) and provides a good choice for steak eaters, fish people and veggies. Usually starters in Thai and Chinese restaurants are largely deep fried. However, My Thai has a good selection of Thai style salads and spring rolls etc. All main courses come with stir fried veg and a choice of steamed or fried rice so no sides necessary. I can highly recommend the steamed sea bass and also the steak - we cleared our plates of both! A drink in the bar afterwards is an experience not to be missed. A DJ plays a selection of laid back tunes and the cocktails are great ... We'll be back!

Amazed how busy this restaurant was last Tuesday at lunchtime. Lovely décor in the Beacon Hotel. Food was yummy and the service was quick, just what you want when you’re rushing back to work! Little bit expensive but great for a special occasion.

I dined at My Thai with friends for the first time this week and we were all blown away by the whole experience. From our greeting on arrival to our departure (several hours later) we found the service impeccable, the staff were extremely helpful and the food was excellent. We couldn't decide which starters to have so the Manager (female) suggested we pick different starters and she would bring side plates so that we could share which was great idea as we got to try several different dishes. One of our party opted for the steamboat which none of us had seen before -this consisted of a choice of homemade broth which is brought to the table along with your chosen ingredients i.e. various seafood, lean meats, fresh vegetables etc served in a traditional pot which was placed on a burner which allowed her to participate in the preparation of her own meal. She thought this was fantastic. Other main courses consisted of Nasi Goreng, a stir fried Sirloin of beef with mixed peppers and chilli (can't remember the name), Prawn Tempura and Roast Duck with cashew rice to mention but a few. Again we all tried each others dishes and found the food to be full of flavour. Unfortunately we were too full to have dessert but definitely next time as there were a couple I would love to try. We were so impressed that before leaving we made a booking for next week. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Very nice decor in this restaurant, nice ambiance. The staff are very pleasant but the service can be quite slow and it can be quite difficult to get their attention sometimes. The food is great which more than makes up for this small service issue. Would definitely go back.

My wife and I and two friends visited the My Thai restaurant in the Beacon Hotel last night, firstly the service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and beautifully presented, however the highlight of the evening was that the chef Sam from Malaysia, came out after the meal to check that everything was O.K. and we chatted with him for about 10 minutes. Overall a very good evening! One which we would recommend to everyone.
