My boyfriend and I pass by this place so frequently we said we just had to try it! Rathmines has so many great places to eat where the food and service are of very high standard it's hard for a place like this to survive I'd say. The food was ok - nice poppadums and quite good curry, although the lamb could have been more tender. I ordered a glass of wine and was not expecting much - but i can drink most wines!!! but not this one - my eyes watered as I put the glass up to my mouth - the bottle must have been opened a year ago - it was total vinegar! Go for the cobra! We won't be going back.

We had lunch from ginger during the South indian food festival @ juat 16 Euros per head! That was awesome. The menu comprised of Kappa(tapioca)& fish curry,Chicken fry,Chicken lollipops,Karimeen(pearl spot) pollichathu,Beef Ulayrthiyathu,Appam & Veggie Stew,Masala Dosa and payasam as Dessert.Found everything yummy.Just that eating in there can be a bit uncomfy when the crowd is more.

This place is not as reasonably priced as the decor would suggest. The food is fine, we found that the water had a strange after taste.

This is the kind of place you might walk past and wonder who actually eats there? It's small and very simply decorated, much like an oversized Indian take away. Having said that the food is amazing as is the service. Well worth a visit.

We ate there last night with my partner. The place won't impress you with it's look but the food was just amazing. Had chicken korma and my partner chicken tikka masala. We both liked it a lot. The service was very good too. The place is simple but if we won't go to eat in we will definitely go for take away because we haven't had so good indian in ages!

Ginger is a simple little Indian with no frills, but the food is of good quality. Take away accounts for the majority of its business, the reason for this will be clear on viewing the inside of the restaurant. If however you want to eat out, Ginger is the perfect middle ground between a 'real' restaurant and a fast food restaurant. The wine didn't look good and the beer was terrible but you can BYO. The staff are nice and friendly. I've had better nan. But I've had worse.

Totally fantastic a real curry shop, granted it isn't the most chic of venues but honestly the food is truly delicious. I really would recommend the Goan prawn curry!!!!!!

This place is great! It's not much to look at and there is not a wonderful atmosphere but the food is fantastic. Indian is my favourite type of food and Ginger does not disappoint. Try it!

The restaurant itself was quiet on a week-night and we decided to order take-away. The service was attentive and friendly. The menu contained all of the traditional South Indian dishes. We tried a prawn curry which contained only a few prawns. The lamb curry was very good. We also had a dahl which was excellent. The naan bread was a little on the burnt side. Valuewise we had a good dinner with enough left over for lunch the next day and it cost a little over 30 euro. Good quality, fast Indian food.
