I have eaten in this restaurant many times and always come back. The food is really lovely and i think they may have gotten a new chef in the last few months as i noticed the presentation and also some of the dishes have changed, but definately for the better. I am not a vegetarian but always order the Saag Aloo as it is absolutely mouth watering! Can be quite quiet during the week but the weekends usually draw a good crowd. Staff are very friendly and always have a smile!

I've gotten take away from here twice now in the past month. The food is delicious. I have tried the Chicken Korma and the Tikka Masala. Both were very satisfying and there was a great offer on too...the meal came with rice and a naan bread, all for €8! The staff are lovely. the restaurant was busy both times i went to collect my orders, but it wasnt overly noisy, so I would definitely choose to sit in the next time I feel like having an Indian (either on a date or with the girls!). I cant wait to try something new next time! The location is a little out of the way, but it's definitely worth it!

Had a meal here with two friends. We availed of their good corkage fee and brought our own wine from shop next door. I love the food here. I'm not very adventurous with Indian so had my usual onion bahjis, chicken korma and pilau rice and garlic naan. All gorgeous! One friend is a vegetarian and she always likes the food here too. Only downside was the dessert. They used to have a nice sorbet, but the lemon sorbet I got was sticky and too sweet - like chilled icing sugar with lemon juice. I love the food here though, will just avoid the dessert from now on.

Had been to this place on a Saturday nite with a friend of mine. Place is quite roomy although there weren't many people in. In my opinion the restaurant does some justice to Indian cuisine unlike most so called Indian restaurant run by non-Indians. Service was good as well. True value for money. Will be back for sure.

I regularly use India Gate for a delivery service. The food is always excellent and very good value. I love their chicken saag, tender pieces of chicken breast in a garlic and spinach sauce, which I request with chiles. My son loves the Chicken Korma. The delivery always arrives piping hot and I usually have enough left over for lunch the next day. We visited the restaurant recently and the food was excellent as usual but the restaurant lacks athmosphere due to the lack of customers. However, this would not put me off as the food is excellent and they have been around for a very long time, so they are obviously doing something right. Great restaurant for a family or crowd, where you create your own athmosphere.

We ate here recently having ordered from their delivery service regularly. The food is always beautiful, and at this stage my partner and I have tried almost everything on the menu. Great value, friendly service and a lovely quiet restaurant - a bit of a hidden gem, considering they have won awards!

I have eaten take-out from here a couple of times and each time it's been really good. It's great value for money & the staff are really pleasant. I've been in to collect my order & it seems that it can be very quiet for eating in. I would definitely recommend this place.

My girlfriend and I visit this place nearly every week, usually midweek, yes its quiet during the week but we enjoy that because we can have a chat and relax, the food is excellent, we usually order the Chicken Tikka starter and the Tandoori Seekh Kebab to start and I usually order Lamb Madras/Vindaloo and my girlfriend orders the Chicken Amwala both with Pilau Rice. The food is excellent and always fresh, piping hot, very tasty, well cooked and the service is quick. The free poppadoms are a nice touch as is the free Baileys at the end, great wine list, friendly and courteous staff who dont annoy you during your meal and seem like they are actually there to help, superb food and ridiculously good value when compared with other restaurants. Would recommend this place to anyone, its been there as long as I can remember and could probably do with a lick of paint on the inside but who cares when the food is this good...?

Finally had a sit down meal in India Gate after a year of getting their excellent take-aways, and we were not disappointed. The free poppadoms and dips were very welcome while salivating over the menu. We availed of the €20 starter and main course special, a bargain considering the most expensive mains are around €18 on their own! I had spicy prawns to start and he had onion bhajis, followed by goan prawn curry and lamb jalfrezi. All the food was superb, service was courteous and helpful. We brought our own wine so it was a very economical evening at €45 in total! Our only complaint is that it was so empty...only two other tables there. Come on everyone, visit this restaurant!!

I am now done with this place. When it first opened it was top of the range and I always ordered takeaway or visited the restaurant on special occasions. It was always great value because you could bring your own wine or you got free rice and poppadoms with a takeaway. I always got butter chicken and rice and garlic naan. My byfriend would get korma. However the last two times we have been very dissappointed. Firstly, both times they forgot items in our takeaway. The first time I didnt mind so much because the food was so good and the chicken so tender. However, this time was a different story. It was cold and tasteless. THe chicken was also quite tough and was not tender at all. It tasted like both sauces had been watered down and our naan bread was missing. Total dissappointment and never again.

Myself and my boyfriend went here last night and it was amazing. We tried the takeaway last week which was the best indian we've had so we made a point to visit the restaurant. We tried different food but it was still all fantastic. We were both really impressed. The service was great, staff very friendly and attentive. The price was very reasonable and i absolutely love when you get a drink on the house, its old school but priceless in my estimation. We will definately make this a regular haunt!

This restaurant is myself and my husband's favourite. We would eat here 3 or 4 times a month. The staff are so friendly and accomodating. You get poppodoms and dips when you sit down to start off. I would also recommend the take out menu. The set menu for 1 at 13.95 is more than enough for 2 people. I promise you will not be disappointed when you visit this restaurant.

We got this as take away on Saturday night and it was gorgeous, we went for the set menu for 2 which gives you a variety of starters, you can pick the 2 mains, you get a veg side dish, 2 rice and naan, it was way too much food for 2 people but a bargain at 29.95!!! Al of the food was excellent quality, if you fancy a big feed give it a try!

Nice restuarant. Went after several recommendations from friends. This place seems to have a cult following. The food compares favourably to any indian in the city. Service was only ok. The decor is in serious need of renovation and I've heard thats happening soon. The toilets are nothing short of disgraceful- even for guys. The pipe from one of the urinals was leeking last night and the wet floor was disgusting leading me to believe that they hadn't been checked in hours! That said there was a large post match crowd who probably had a lot to do with this. Overall would recommend the place

I have been going to the India gate for years along with my husband and family and friends and we would all agree that this is by far the best Indian you will ever eat. The staff are great and so friendly and over the years we have got to know them very well unlike other restaurants you might visit on a reg basis they actually get to know their customers. I would recommend the chicken korma and pilau rice and any of their delicious naan breads and the prawns to start are divine, so check it out you would be mad not to just be warned once you try it you will never go back cause no other Indian even comes close to it. As a matter of fact i'm heading there tonight with some friends and i just can't wait.

This particular Indian takeaway has to be the best in Dublin. I am an avid fan of Indian food, and use to have a favourite in Naas, which has now closed down, but this has become my new favourite! You will be hard pressed to find another restaurant that offers this standard of food for the prices on offer. Currently they do a specialfor €13 which includes TWO starters, Main dish (I normally go for Jalfrezi) one Pilau rice and a naan bread! Go compare that to other Indians in the area and it may well come to 25quid! The food is GORGEOUS and they have found a new best customer, who will gladly travel from Kildare to Tallaght just to buy from it! Kev

Best Indian "takeaway" you'll find in south Dublin. Not the most charming of staff in the world, but maybe thats only to takeaway customers. Phoned in orders are always ready on time, makes a nice change from others.

We got takeaway on Sunday evening. The food arrived within the half hour as promised. The quality of the food was very good. I had the vegetable jalfrezi with rice and garlic nan. Boyf had the balti special. I was quite surprised that even the balti special which cost 11.75 did not come with rice and cost an extra 2 euros. Our meals came to 30 euro with delivery and tip which is really very steep when you consider we had no starters or drinks. Still, the food itself did not disappoint.

My favourite Indian restuarant. I absolutely love this place. I visit every few months (so the novelty doesn't wear off). The food is absolutely delicious, I like to taste new things when I come here but my favourite is still the old reliable chicken tikka masala, the best around. My mouth waters with the tasty poppodoms and dips (especially the red onion). The wine list is great, the menu is really great and the staff as so nice. They provide those special little touches that make your meal more enjoyable. Their food is also great to take away and the India Gate in Tallaght is also on top form. I also like to order the indian tea and the coffee here as they are just superb. My partner thinks the coffee here is the best he's ever tasted and I really love the pistachio ice cream, just to wash it all down. They get it right every time. I've never actually brought my own but people can actually bring their own wine for a small corkage fee which can appeal to many people.

Little expensive but fantastic service! Really attentive, quiet staff. Got the starter variety dish. Yum! Then mains were chicken biriyani, chicken korma. No room for dessert or even coffee! We'll be back. :)

We hadn't eaten here for a couple of years, so decided to try it again. As on previous visits the place was empty when we arrived, and only 2 more people sat down to eat while we were there. However there were a few people collecting takeaways; maybe that's how they make their money. The menu has changed quite a bit since we were last there, and is not the same as the one on your website. Also the wine we ordered had been taken off the menu because they had only sold 3 bottles of it in the last year!! My partner had the kebab for starters, and was delighted with it. My starter of breadcrumbed chicken in a sweet chilli sauce wasn't so successful. The chicken was drowning in sauce and the breadcrumbs were soggy and tasted of stale oil. His main course was a hot chicken dish, which he enjoyed, but it was a bit too sweet for his taste. My lamb with blackeyed beans was absolutely scrumptious. I wish I could have finished it, but the portions were so large I had to give up, even though I'd left half my starter. Dessert was out of the question! As always at this place the service was excellent, friendly, attentive and discreet. A complimentary glass of sambucca and an After Eight came with the bill, which came to about €75 and included a very nice and very cheap bottle of South African Sauvignon Blanc and two gin and tonics.

Gorgeous! We got a take-away from here last night (which we've done on several other occasions) and sure enough it was gorgeous. I had Butter Lamb and it was like butter. As well as that it was all well packed and completely hot even when it got to us. Garlic Naan (plenty of garlic the way it should be) poppadoms and Bhajis. I wasn't too keen on the Bhaji's but I think that’s more personal taste then a reflection of the food! I do find Indian take-aways a tad more expensive then most. Must eat in this place one night; see if it’s as good. For take-away, you can't beat it.

Love this Indian restaurant. Great value and have always had great food. We use it a lot for delivery. Always arrives within half an hour. The set menu for 2 is excellent value - 4 starters, 2 main dishes, 2 rice, vegetable side dish and naan bread for 30 Euro. Have never been disappointed.

On Saturday last I visited the India Gate restaurant in Nutgrove Shopping Centre with family and it was a very pleasant experience. Good tasty food, nicely presented, served by friendly and attentive and welcoming staff and reasonably priced. It was my first visit but it won't be my last.

Don’t let the location of this restaurant put you off! Upstairs in the Nutgrove shopping centre would not seem to be the ideal location. However, despite some refurbishing needing to be undertaken on the hallway and stairway leading up this is a very comfortable restaurant with nice decor complete with freshly laundered ultra white table cloths and napkins. It is possible to get a seat here even on New Year's Eve without booking and the food is very good and quite reasonably priced. However as in the majority of Indian restaurants the desserts are abysmal (pre packed and frozen variety). Service is low key but efficient and they do the best peshwari naan I have tasted in Dublin. You can bring your own wine etc however they now charge corkage of about 5 for a bottle of wine (less for beer and more for bubbly). Parking free of charge outside the door and a Molloy's Liquor store a few doors down if you wish to purchase wine to bring in with you. I have been there many times and never disappointed.

I am a regular customer in the India Gate in Nutgrove and I have to say that the food is excellent, as is the service. I have been to the restaurant too a few times on special occasions! We also took friends there last time and they were very impressed.

I would agree with the other reviews that the take away is a bit on the slow side and can be a bit thrown together, but the food in the restaurant is lovely and the staff are really pleasant, I had lamb cooked in swede. Sounds unusual but was delicious!! I would definitely go back, great for midweek treat!

Hello there, myself and my husband, have been customers of your restaurant in Nutgrove for the last 7 years at least. We use to talk with Raman and now Dave seems to be in charge. They are both very friendly and helpful as is all the staff. Dave asked us last night to comment on the website about our thoughts of the restaurant as it would help should any improvements need to be made. The staff and service has always been excellent. We can’t fault that in any way. The new menu is a welcome change and very good. However, a bit more meat in the main dish would be very welcome. Apart from that, the only thing we would comment on is the décor. Only for we know the restaurant and are comfortable with same, we would be reluctant to bring anyone new there because the décor has gone downhill. You need to consider refurbishing the walls on the way in, particularly on the way up the stairs and the carpet also. The bathrooms needs a lift. First impressions are lasting! Many thanks.

A relaxing atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff that will explain the menu in detail as to match your personal taste. The food is top quality I personally enjoy the rogan josh and it is absolutely perfect every time. The take away service is quick and the food is always well cooked. I frequent the India Gate very regularly because of all of the above comments.

Very good Indian food onsite... bring your own Beer or Wine! I wouldn't recommend the Take aways though!
