My wife and I visited the restaurant a few weeks back after hearing about their food. I have to say their reputation was well deserved. We had a starter of Grilled dumplings, which was just amazing!!! I'm drooling just thinking of it. We both had a curry, which was just lovely. Overall the experience was very pleasant.

I haven't been here for quite a while but went on New Years eve with a group. I wasn't overly impressed with the service but I suppose it was a busy night. There wasn't a smile or bit of friendliness from the staff which is unusual enough. The wine service was a bit dangerous. Every time I reached for my glass it was full again which is a little unnecessary. Overall I was a little disappointed with our visit. I suppose I'd been spoiled by it being so good on previous visits.

Went here with my girlfriend last week. It was midweek and we were there at 6.30 and we were the only people in the restaurant. Nice and quiet if that's what you want. We ordered spring rolls for starter which were quite nice but nothing too special. I had the duck in teriyaki sauce dish. It came out warm but not hot so went cold quite quickly and also the sauce was quite bland. The other half got prawn with cashewnuts which were very good (I robbed a lot of it!). I had a glass of the house red. It had a nice smooth texture with a fruity taste. The service was good. They were very attentive and the food came out quickly which was great beacuse we were both starving! We did have to ask for more rice which we weren't charged for as they only gave us enough for one person at the start. All in all we had a good overall experience. The food wasn't too expensive and was nice despite mine not being up to scratch. I'd recommend Yo Thai to all.

Was there with some friends and we went for the early bird menu which was great value. Everyone seemed happy with there choices but my main was tasteless, maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I thought roast duck cantonese style would be a bit more tastier. The sauce was practically water. the fried rice was tasteless also. My husband had the beef satay dish with noodles which he thought was not worth it either. The service was very good and the staff were very friendly. The place was clean and the atmosphere was nice. The dessert menu was just all ice creams, they could elabrate a bit on there dessert menu. I would give it a try again maybe ordering a different dish. Jean seb Dublin.

Great place to go with friends for a birthday or an Occasion. Great atmosphere especially if you request a table where the chefs cook your meal in front of you- Really exciting and chefs add in perks which are entertaining. Fresh food.

I would have to agree with the last reviewer - extremely disappointing meal. We were there on Sunday evening, restuarant was pretty quiet yet service was still lacking. Starter (spring rolls) were fine if a little average but main courses (chicken szechuen and chicken in basil) were bland and tasteless - no spice at all. The fried rice was unbelievably poor quality - lumpy and stodgy - we didnt eat most of it, didnt really feel like having it replaced and commented on how bad it was to the waitress at the end. It was taken off the bill but if it hadnt been we simply would not have paid for it. One bottle of beer and one glass of red wine were fine but overall a very disappointing evening and we certainly wont be returning.

Very disappointing. Typical "Asian food for Irish people" from decades ago. With good ethnic food to be had in Ireland now, don't waste time and money on this place. My beef with chili and basil used European basil and had hardly any chili despite me telling the waiter 3 times that I wanted it very hot. Atmosphere was Rubbish muzak. Plus points were attentive service and moderately good value on the early bird. Still though, avoid unless you like paying lots of money for reheated chicken served with MSG.

Always get takeaway from here. I LOVE the sushi. Its great value. Only downside is they dont deliver, but if you order for collection its usually ready within 20min. I have eaten here before, the place was very quiet but the staff were very accomodating and as usual food lovely.

Great little place in the quiet suburb of Mount Merrion. Very good and accomodating service with lovely thai dishes. Great for a birthday or special occasion as two or three of the waiters sing their very own special birthday songs while playing instruments - great fun!

A few of us came here for the 'early bird' menu which is actually available till 11pm!! This includes a starter and a main course for 18.95, which is very good value. I had the vegetable tempura for starter which was very good and the vegetarian red curry for main course which was also delicious. The service here is top notch and decor is lovely. Highly recommended!!

I have been here at a birthday party, the atmosphere is great for a big group of people. The staff come out and sing happy birthday using pots and pans as instruments. It really is a fun place to go and the food is delicious.

ate here with a group of friends but not teppinyaki. The staff were very helpful and looked after us very well and the atmosphere was great. However the food was below the stanard expected having eaten here a few times before. I had the spring rolls to start which were very dry and had very little filling. the Green curry was good but overall we all felt that the food could have been better-some felt that the portions were small or sauces tasted very siilar despite having very differnet descriptions! Also the wine choice was very limited but this was probably due to it being the christmas period

Really enjoyable restaurant! I've been here a couple of times; both have been for Tepannyaki. It's great for a group of people! The chef's are always a lot of fun and are fantastic at the tricks they do with the food! The service is fantastic and the staff are always friendly. I'm really looking forward to visiting this restaurant again, its a very different experience to other kinds of thai restuarants.

Group of us went last night 3 Dec to celebrate christmas. We partook in the Tepanyaki table and cuisine and Marky was only excellent as he was our host and chef. Great entertainment - well earned, ate and enjoyed by us all. Certainly great way to enjoy your food and see how it is all cooked. Great choice from salmon, prawns, chicken, steak, and how the fried rice is made.... love his 'terms' for his different ingredients. Well done and keep up the hard work and entertainment.

Excellent quality meal although the evening was somewhat disappointing. My wife and I visited with the intention of having the early bird menu which is available up to 6.45 pm. This early bird menu was extremely basic and as a result we felt that we had little choice and elected to go a la carte. The restaurant was quite empty. The roast duck dalad at €12 was good value and the Japanese starter combination at €17 was very tasty but it was a bit small. The stir fried scallops were excellent - a bit pricy at €24. The wine list was reasonably priced but had little choice. Overall cost for two was €134.70 including a fixed tip of 10% = €12.20. This was nowhere near the budget we intended spending and reinforces the fact that one should be more cautious before planning an early bird meal. The food was extremely good, the atmosphere poor and the service just adequate which in itself is poor for a restaurant which was so quiet. If it was busy I would anticipated substantial delays. I would consider revisiting for a retry on their lunch menu but not for the early bird menu.

We went here last Sunday as it was my cousins 21st birthday, we sat in tepanyaki table and it was so fun, as we had the funny chef that cooked our food in front of us. It was really amazing to watch them doing some tricks while cooking. And the quality of the food itself is really great. After our beautiful meal, I was been surprised as I had no idea that the the staff who took care of us would still be the ones who would entertain us. June serenaded my cousin after the birthday song. The waitress also had a brilliant voice. It was really a wonderful night I will definitely celebrate my upcoming birthday here as well. Keep it up!!!

Went here with my Dad on Friday night and didn't have a bad meal at all. I'd been here a good few times and it as been a bit hit and miss; I'd the tempura prawns followed by, yes, prawns again (salt & pepper)and boiled rice. It was very busy & there was a large 50th birthday party that were having a great time. So it's a fun place but not fine dining. I'll be back though.

My boyfriend brought me here as a surprise for my birthday and we had such a great time! The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent! We sat at the teppanyaki table and the chefs were very entertaining and funny. They came out then and sang not only to me but to the other people at the table!! The food was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it!!

First time there and I would go again. The waitress service was poor hence the low stars, but the food was excellent. We got a table where they cook in front of you and I must say it was very entertaining. If you are looking for a restaurant with a little something different, this is it!

Have eaten here a couple of times including a recent lunch. Ordered the special, which was steak, chicken, and prawns, which was very tasty. €19.50 which was a bit overpriced perhaps. Flavours are always well combined although eating here is a garlic giveaway! I noticed that although not particularly busy for lunch, the clientele were predominately Asian which is a good sign for a restaurant.

Very disappointing. I had heard good things about Yo Thai, but maybe it’s the one in Donnybrook that’s good. I went to Yo Thai with 9 friends. My starter was spring rolls. Easy to do well, one would expect. The pastry was very hard and it was tasteless. I could not even eat most of my main course of sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was very tough and the sauce and veg were awful. Yo Thai was more like a bad Chinese take away than a good Thai restaurant. The restaurant itself is old and tatty with no atmosphere. The wine was Australian and not great. The bill for 10 of us came to just under Eur 600 with no desserts but with a lot of wine. Definitely will not be returning but might give the Donnybrook one a go some day.

This place is fantastic. I don't think I could recommend it more highly. Have been quite a few times to try the standard menu (where the food is fab) and more recently, I took two trips to the Teppanyaki table. The first time was a family occasion, there were six of us and the two chefs that looked after us really went out of their way to make it a great experience. The Teppanyaki menu is fab, you get a salad starter, choice of main course and dessert from the standard menu if you want it. The second time I went for Teppanyaki, it was with a big group from work. They had overbooked so we had to wait quite a while for our table, but it was worth it. Will definitely return again and again.
