I have been a regular at this restaurant and up until recently could rarely fault it for food quality and value. The wine menu is better than average and they have some excellent wines of the month on occasion e.g. Petis Chablis for €20. The all you can eat meal was a steal for their clients but that is now in the past. Quality is good but the pricing is very high and exceeds even the leading Chinese restaurants of Ballsbridge and Donnybrook. A good dining experience but no longer true value for money. If money is not an issue it is an excellent dining experience.

A group of almost 40 of us went here to celebrate a friend's 30th on Friday and it was brilliant!!! €25 a head with platters to start (satay chicken, spring rolls, calamari, spare ribs, samosa etc), then big plates of crispy duck came out with fresh pancakes and sauce for all. Warning: Don't fill up on the starters even though you will want to! We all ordered our own mains, I had the King Prawn Kung Po with boiled rice which was delicious but noodles and chips etc came too so eveyone had plenty to eat. The lads were delighted! The staff were excellent and well able to cater for such a big group. After we ate the microphones came out and it was a brilliant, very late night of Karaoke! But no big bills at the end as we were all able to pay as we went for drink and it was just €25 a head for all that amazing food. Highly recommend this restaurant especially if you have a group looking for nice food at a reasonable price and a bit of fun afterwards.

I love this restaurant I have been here numerous times mostly for the early bird which is really good value. I got a takeaway once but it was very pricey for what we got. I would recommend this to everyone. On one occasion I brought a person (elderly) who does not eat any kind of Chinese and she enjoyed a nice steak with potatoes!! I also recently went here for the all you can eat menu...this is such good value, the portions are just as big as usual so you really only need to order one main course and maybe two starters, its great to go in a group as you can try loads of dishes. I would recommened the early bird menu which is very good value. i can't fault the food i always enjoy it! the staff were very efficient and attentive.

I can't really complain about this place at all. First of all, as with most chinese restaurants, the staff are so very attentive without being overbearing and you can be sure your water glass will never be empty. When I've been here, I've opted for the 25e all you can eat off the a la carte so have had the opportunity to taste a lot. Their soups are delicious and flavoursome,my favourite is the crabmeat and sweetcorn. The sharing plater gives a good selection with plenty on it too so you get a good taster to start. their sweet and sour chicken is gorgeous with the chicken only lightly breaded so it's light enough and the black-bean beef is very tasty with tender meat. The atmosphere of the place is relaxed and almost romantic. I can't comment on the desert as i've never ordered off the menu but i will definitely be back here again. :-)

I went here the other night for a girl's night out and karaoeke. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the food was. I had a lovely starter and szechuan beef for my main course - both were actually very good. The karaoeke made the night and the staff were so friendly and I think they enjoyed all the singing almost as much as we did. Will definitely be back as it was a very fun night and also very good value!

went here for my cousins 18th birthday and it was a bit of a disaster. there was a problem with the elcetricity so we were left waiting in minimal lighting. But the staff were very helpful and friendly. the food was slow to come out but under the circumstances it is understandable. Will more than likely give them another chance.

I was here with a big party ( about 30 of us) to celebrate my cousin's forthcoming nuptials. It was a perfect place for such an event, the karaoke made the night! We had such fun. It was buffet "all you can eat" for €25 but I was suitably unimpressed with the food. We didn't get to pick anything, there was just a sample of things brought out, great if you can eat everything, but not so great if you don't eat meat. To be fair, when I asked for a vegetarian option they brought me out fish cakes to start and vegetable schezuen for main. However it didn't represent good value for money as thats all I could eat whereas everyone else had plenty to choose from. There also was no dessert or tea/coffee included. This is a good place to go for a laugh but I wouldn't go there for the food.

The food and service we excellent. I would highly recommend the salt and chili fish dishes-- they are not at all greasy and are perfectly seasoned. I will happily recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Took my wife here for a cozy date - hadn't been before. Thought it was really nice. The atmosphere and decor inside are good and the staff were very polite and friendly. We shared the platter to start with, which was really good value as you got to try lots of different things. For the main I had the chicken with black pepper sauce - which was really nice. Overall we had a very pleasant evening and I'd definitely go back

My best friend had just moved to DunLaoghire in the last few months and as a thank for helping her slowly move her belongings she treats me to a meal each week. We tried a few in Monkstown & since we fancied a chinese we decided to give Victoria Asian a go. I started with a tom yom goong and I have to say it tasted as good as the one I had in Thailand six months before! It had a wonderful balance of lemongrass, tomato, chili and basil and the prawns were juicy and fresh. Orla had a moist yet crispy honey ribs. It's rare to see a good selection of seafood on the menu in a chinese restaurants so we both decided to try out the selection. I went with a steamed seabass which was cooked to perfection. It was fresh, whole and tasted like the sea. Orla went for lobster with ginger and scallion, neither the ginger nor scallion overpowered the fresh lobster. For dessert we shared a very tasty homemade cheesecake and I went for a nice glass of Whisky. Again, very odd to see a chinese restaurant with good Whisky, I went for the Bowmore 18. The bill was a lot more reasonable than what we expected especially for the neighbourhood and what we ate. Lastly the staff were very friendly and had a great chat to Orla about the area. All in all a very good find and will definitely be ourselves regulars!

It was a work nigth out.The idea was to have a nice meal and to finish the evening with karaoke, and a lot of craic; unfortunately we were not so lucky. The restaurant itself is very beautiful, but as the saying goes,"dont judge a book by its cover." All you can eat for 30€ was the offer. i was looking forward to a real Chinese feast. As a starter i ordered crispy wontons and although they were ok, they were very greasy and only 3 little pieces. so i thought i could do better with the main. I ordered the whole Seabass. Disappointing- it arrived fried with the head and the tail still on, and therefore very little edible meat. The worst part was that it came with a strange sauce and peas (an unusual Chinese accompaniment). When I complained, I was told, curtly, "thats what you ordered!" So much so for "all you could eat";I was given no choice of substiute. My main remained almsost untouched. the table was cleared so carelessly that some food finished on one of my colleague's shirt. No apology was given. But they were very quick to ask for payment.I finished my meal with a very average banoffee.Overall a very big disappointment and certainly not a place to go back to.

This restaurant is reasonable enough. The staff are very friendly, and the decor is beautiful inside. The food, unfortunately, is fairly average. I had the szechuan chicken, which was a little on the bland side. Competent but not spectacular, which would be ok if the prices reflected this. This restaurant is overpriced for what it is, in my opinion.

Four of us ate here on Saturday night and, apart from the really good food, the service does stand out. The maitre'd is really on top of things and seems to effortlessly get around to every table and make sure everyone is happy. Good value wine list is also a major plus!

Perfect for groups, wouldn't like it so much as a couple! 8 of us went for a good pre-christmas girlie night out and we certainly got it. We went for the all you can eat €32 a head option, you can selct fromt he full menu, which is in itself quiet a good chinese menu, yuk sung and dim sum were my starters selection and both were fabulous, thai beef sald was very tasty and we all got to try a bit of everything, main course order wasnt; wtaken until after we finished our startersd and this was well appreciated. I had teh Seabass with Ginger and scallion....delicious, but came out about 20 minutres after everyine elses. this who could fit it in went for deserts and with alort of wine and drinks the bill was only €55 a head...no complaints on the food and apart from the seabass arriving late..no more complaints either. Teh Karaoke entertainment began at about 11:30 ad this was brilliant...mics put on every table and everyone joined in..Great for a group night out!

I visited here yesterday with my daughter for sunday lunch special €20pp The place was fairly full and seemed to be alot of regulars as waiters & customers knew each other by name etc.. Anyway both our starters were lovely chicken satay & samosa's. My daughter got beef curry for main which was also nice. However I got chicken chow mein and it looked like a clump of straw on my plate, it was really dry. I asked for sauce and they brought me garlic sauce which was very thick and wasnt nice with it. Overall: For my 1st visit I wasn't overly impressed with food but havent said that I would give it another try!

Superb, ticks all the right boxes... The €25pp as many plates as you want is fantastic, our waiter very happily recommended a number of dishes, even suggested a few of the Chef's own dishes, all served in small enough portions to enjoy properly. Been back a number of times now and have never been disappointed.

This is definately one of the best restaurants around! ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!! only 25 yo yos! You really cant beat it. And its not like you get scabby portions, they are excellent! And if you want, they can make all your maincourse portions smaller, so you can have lots of different dishes, try them all out! Thats what i do all the time! An the staff are so sound and helpfull! Its such a good night out. And you dont feel greedy or bad havin the ALL YOU CAN EAT. They're so laid back, and dont care at all if you dont clear your plate!!!

Response:
I care about waste though - please don't over order just because you can. Waste effects us all and is shameful.

Came here tonight with my mother, and we were both delighted to find such a little gem of a place! I haven't been to such a nice restaurant in a long time. I walked in and the interior took me by suprise. wow a chinese with style oh it has lovely decor altogether. The place had a gorg atmosphere and i can't wait to go back, the food was great, They have a really good chef to offer good quality tastey food. Everything , down to the table clothes was classy and modern. haha. The plates/ dishes were presented on lovely stands aswell were the chopsticks. It just had every little touch to show thought and consideration into their presentation. We had all you can each for 25 euro a head from the a la carte menu, brilliant! yum yum. I was also delighted to see dim sum on the menu.!

Excellent food at a very reasonably price. We went there accidentally one night because another restaurant around the corner was very unorganised and I have to say that the food and service was second to none. I'd highly recommend this place if you like really well cooked and presented authentic Chinese cuisine.

This was my second visit here as the first one enticed me to come back. Their early bird menu is great value at €20 and up to 8pm. For starter we had the best chicken and sweetcorn soup ever. We shared mains of Satay Chicken and Sezchuan Pork with fried rice, both were delicious. Then we had dessert and coffee. They even gave us a complimentary platter of fresh fruit. Everyone was really friendly and the service was great. We will return many times. Next time I want to try the all-you-can eat menu for €25. Have recommended it to all my friends and family.

I went to a birthday party here and had an excellent time. We went for the €25 all you can eat option where you can choose dishes from almost all the menu bar very expensive things like lobster. All of the food was delicious and excellent value! They threw in shredded duck, fruit platters and a cheese cake as a birthday cake! We had requested karaoke after dinner so once most of the other tables had left the large screen karaoke was set up and we sung late into the night as the staff went about their tidying up business. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, even as we were leaving they were still smiling and cheery seemingly having enjoyed our karaoke renditions of 80's classics. All in all it was a phenomenal night out and I will definitely be going here again!

We had a fab meal here - I love the service and the decor, it is luxurious but you don't need to be all dressed up and fancy. We ate loads without being too greedy on the excellent value of €25.00 for all you want. It is nice not to be ripped off - Usually we scrimp a bit on the rice but as this is included we got some noodles on the side too. Like I say we were guided by the good service and didn't over order and had all we could possibly want.

This was my second visit to Victoria in the last two months. I'm afraid this is just another not very authentic Asian restaurant. Starters taste like they have been bought in and re-heated or deep fried. Theeir mixed platter is like something you would buy from M&S but not as good. Similarly the main courses, sauces taste like the stuff you get from a jar. I often wonder with such a big menu, how is it possible to cook everything fresh? Staff are very attentive and the service is good but not sure I will be back soon.

Was here on Friday enening with a group of six. Good was fantastic. we took advantage of the all you can eat for 25€/person. The staff were very accomadating. we didn't each order a starter but they brought enuogh for 6 people out in each. Food is gorgeous. Very hot, and very good. They gave us a free round of drinks at the end of our meal, and even popped a candle in a dessert for the birthday boy. The only downside is it is very quiet. there were only two or three tables with people at them other then ourselves. Would recommend though for large groups as they get the karaoke going as well!!!

Excellent Chinese. Efficient & friendly service. The also do an all you can eat menu which is great value (but for some reason doesn't cover desserts!). This used to be Wong's which was a favourite of mine, and now it's under new management its at least as good, if not better!

My boyfriend and I went here for a last minute Saturday night's dinner, and was at about half nine. We didn't book and the staff kindly seated us without any problems. We shared the pork yuk sung to start and then I had the sweet and sour chicken and he had the chicken with black bean, we had fried rice, chips and a lovely bottle of wine and Bailey's coffies. the food is deicious, this place is my favourite Chinese in Dublin, it is better then its previous incarnation, the food is better, the staff are friendlier and the prices are cheaper than before. overall a great place with fabulous food.

Heard to the grape vine that this restaurant did Karaoke on request so we decided to celebrate our Birthdays here. From the time I booked to the time I left I found the service second to none. On the day of the Party the manager phoned me to confirm my booking and gave me a run down of what they had planned food wise for the night. We had an all you can eat menu so they provided mixed platters for starters, then crispy duck then yuk sung and then you could order your main courses. They very generously provided us with a cake for the night on the house. (We didn't even have a huge crowd, just 17) The Karaoke was amazing. Within a very short space of time everyone was singing and dancing. The staff at the restaurant treated us like royalty and that is no joke. This has to be one of the most memorable nights of my life. I can't wait to go back there again. An absolutely brilliant experience. Thanks Victoria for making it a wonderful night.

The service was horrible im not sure if it was due to the season or the time at which we went but the main course was appalling which was very sad because both the starter and desert were lovely i found the staff rude ill mannered and not at all interested in the needs of the customer it was very disheartening and and a cause for attention to be drawn to all these areas.

Went here for the early bird menu. Really nice food and excellent value. The staff were more than accomodating and they really did fuss over us. Sometimes a bit too much, it was quiet when we were in there and you almost feel like they are standing there watching you waiting for you to put the fork down. The prawn crackers are to kill for too, not to mention the chicken sate, OMG! Would definately call this my fave chinese resataurant on the south side, and i have tasted my fare share. x

My husband and I have had the early Bird menu here 3 times and each time we have really enjoyed it. Twenty euros for starter, main course, dessert and tea or coffee. They also offer it until 7pm on a friday which is fantastic. There is a choice of about 6 in each section. The staff are very welcoming and remember us each time we go! Can't wait to go back.

Stumbled on this place on Saturday. Have to say I was very impressed. The staff are very friendly. The service was great and the food was even better. They have different choices then other Asian restaurants. Will definitely come again. Will probably try the lunch menu on a Sunday. 4 courses for €20.

Found the place by mistake. Went for the early bird menu. Starters were good unfortunately my colleague did not like her beef when I tasted it it was quite horrible and it felt that they used just the fat. The dessert tasted like they just came straight from Tesco Value frozen cheese cake had no taste to it at all. The service was very quick and polite.

Wongs is under new management and is now called Victoria Asian Cuisine - the food was good in wongs but is better now! The new manager is friendly and attentive. As a vegetarian I love the salt & pepper tofu - it's divine! I do miss the creamed sweetcorn soup (please put it back on your menu!!) The wine list is ok, they do quarter bottles now but the selection is not great! I'm making another reservation now!

When I was a student, I enjoyed "Chinese" take-away at every possible opportunity. Ordering in those days was simple, as was the food. And price was...well, OK. Then I eventually grew up and found that there were other foods - just as inexpensive and just as tasteless. On getting married I was then introduced to "good eating" and I looked forward to going out for a good meal....but anything but Chinese. Until I went to China and found that "Chinese" food in Shanghai was something else, not at all like the Chinese food back here. Until, I was invited to a Chinese meal in Wongs in Monkstown. Not particularly happy about eating home-grown Chinese cooking, I hadn't the heart to refuse the invitation. But, boy was I surprised! The food was more than fabulous. It was just way out. As good as in China any day. I ate and ate - mine and everyone else's at the table. The staff were so courteous. That wasn't surprising. They were Chinese. Would I return to Wongs in Monkstown? You bet ya sweet lychees, I would .It was the best Chinese meal I've had since China. Nee How !!

We have gone to this restaurant as a family for the past 10 years and we like it a lot. The service has always been good and the food is outstanding. They have been so accommodating to us in the past even though we are a difficult family!! Out of the 2 Wongs I have visited (this one and Castleknock) and all the other Chinese restaurants, this is by far the best. Food is amazing.
