Had a bite to eat here on Friday night, and to be honest, it was a bit hit and miss. I was here last weekend (bank holiday Monday) and was well impressed with the food, hence my return. On Friday just gone I ordered the same dish as i did last weekend, and it was awful in comparrison to the first. I dont know if its an issue with the chefs, but i just find the specials are always lovely, and the A La Carte is just unpredictable. Really wish they would just out more effort into the food. it's really a nice place other then that.

Considering this would be my local I would rarely visit. The food is quite good but very over priced for "pub grub" considering that's all it is. The staff are friendly but not the most attentive. The atmosphere can vary greatly and no matter where you are in the pub you and either hear or see a tv.

This place is very expensive for bog standard pub grup. Obviously, the food is nice but the prices can be a turn off. I usually get a burger but the sizes can be quite small. The atmosphere is full of a mixed age group and sometimes it can get a bit rowdy.

Headed here for an afternoon bite, was my first time here and I was quite taken with the place, had a country feel to it, and the outside looked like it would be nice on a sunny day. I had deep fried brie & Cheesy potatoes, couldn't really get any unhealthier! And I couldn't finish the brie as a result of my cheese over load, it was a lovely Friday treat! The other half had a burger which seemed to be served in a pitta bread, he didn't seemed concerned, however it was a little messy to eat it would be fair to say! I did find the staff a little over attentive, asking if we needed drinks, more food, desserts every couple of minutes, when after work on a Friday all we wanted to to do was wallow in the weekend joy! I would definitely return, if not for cheese (not too much for a veggie on the menu) for a few after work Friday drinks.

Visited for dinner with husband and daughter today. Staff were friendly, efficient, and service was quick. Portions ample and great value. 2 mains, 1 pint, 1 soft drink and a kids meal for €32. Food was as good as any pub grub and I'd definitely return.

My wife and I had a really excellent pub lunch at Palmers today. Arrived early, 12.15 and wondered if we were too early but no problem. I asked if I could have fries with the spicey, meatballs instead of the pasta or ciabatta options on menu. No problem said waitress and my wife chose the Lamb Rojanjosh. Both meals were delicious, hot and attractively presented and plentiful. Cheery, efficient service which with 2 beers and 2 coffees the €32 .40 bill was excellent value. We'll be back.

I love Palmers. It is one of the most comfortable and cosy pubs i have ever been in. The food is surperb. The best thing is you have a choice of two menus to choose from. You can have a choice from the A La Carte or from Indian Cuisin. The food is tops from both. Staff are v friendly & service is always with a smile :)

The standard Pub food in Palmers is great you get exactly what you ask for and its good quality. I would not ever again have any Indian food from this establishment Ive eaten in a lot of Indians restaurants all over the place. This must be one of the worst tasteless Indians I've ever had. The lamb madras tasted like some one has added some bisto gravy with a bit of curry powder. I cant believe that they call this an Indian restaurant!!!!!!! Can I rate on the MINUS

Went for dinner with family on nice summers day so expected to be busy but it wasn't. Even though we had a reservation made they had forgotten so not a good start. I had chicken tikka masala which was nice for what it was although I got the feeling I could of cooked it myself it was very simple and the poppadom portion was very small. Service was average and I did not receive an extra portion of poppadom after it was ordered. An average dining experience and wont be rushing back!!!

The Indian food here is superb . Attached to Palmers is an Indian take-away called “We cook it”. If you ask the server you can order from the take away menu for a small supplement and the food is far superior to anything on the bar menu. The Prawn Madras is lovely (apart from their occasional tendency to overcook the prawns) and the Pindi Chana is one of the best vegetarian dishes you can get. The servers could do with learning how to smile and the decor is a little shabby but if you’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere and some good food, Palmers is perfect.

The Indian takeaway is quite good. Better than any other I have tried in this area. For a while, they had a deal where you could get a free bottle of wine with orders over 30Euro but unfortunately, this deal is over now. :-(

Have only tried the Indian takeaway service from Palmers. It was really good. 3 starters, 3 mains, rice and naan for just over €40 - delivered too! Plus we got a free bottle of wine! Nice menu with rating of hotness and also a section of low fat options. Delivery was good - though it was only up the road to Stepaside!

An ‘out of the way’ watering hole but well worth a visit. Menu is surprisingly varied and quality of food is excellent (from deep-fried platter to farmers sandwich to reasonable steaks).Open friendly atmosphere with prompt service. Very well priced and clean surroundings, portions a little on small side but quality of food more than makes up for this. Very spacious car park but you must book parties ( 5 + ) in advance as table arrangements more in line with smaller groups. Well worth a visit if in Stepaside / Sandyford area.
