0.5My daughter & I visited HNC last Sunday as it was Mothers Day & we wanted a nice cafe experience & lunch. It is approx 3 mths since our last visit but as regular visitors we thought we knew what to expect. Nothing was further from the case. The service was horrendous. We waited 15 mins for our order to be taken, despite trying to get the attention of a waiter\ress. Our lunch was another 15 minutes and arrived with apologies but without cutlery, which was not on the table. Frustrated waiting my daughter went in search of cutlery, which the staff eventually delivered to the table. It was busy but tables beside us received considerably faster service. It is a cafe after all. The greatest disappointment was when my lunch arrived minus some ingredients (presume they ran out)! And lacked any flavour at all. I didn't bother querying the lack of ingredients as I couldn't take the risk of wasting time on a) getting somebody's attention b) waiting another 15 mins for a new lunch. 45 mins later and under pressure to make the start of a film, we went straight to the till to pay. Our waitress's was at the till and said goodbye as we left. Nice touch BUT no apology or acknowledgement of the entire fiasco. The bill was €29 for two mains, coffee, coke. AND included a service charge. The arrogance of HNC. Whatever has happened in 3. Months needs to be rectified as we weren't the only recipients of poor service and like us, I'm sure others will be voting with their feet and not returning. HUGELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE, SERVICE & CUSTOMER CONSIDERATION.

4.0Me and my husband brought the toddler here for an early bird. We had the place pretty much to ourself which was fine for us and our very loud son. We had the burger and chips and the cod and chips. The burger was a generous size and nicely seasoned, the cod was super fresh and the batter was melt in the mouth delicious.
The portion of chips was a little on the small side.
Service was faultless and its a very handy spot to go to if you want a fast but, not fast food, meal. We'll be back.

3.0It's been long since My last visit with friends and I felt it was loosing its touch in service and food , however , I was invited by one of my friends there last weekend for lunch , to my surprise what a change since my last visit !!
Service was more attentitive and food was better then before , all I can say is it was a worth lunch for that price so hopefully theyll stick with new changes .

4.0A nice coffee and a scone for an afternoon snack, ideal place Harvey Nic's Cafe. Service is nice and friendly and food is as described Cafe food, but overall when in Dundrum a nice place for that afternoon break.

5.0I must say everytime I am in Dundrum I have to visit this cafe. The scones and coffee are excellent! If my husband is with me (and he is a very fussy eater) he will not go anywhere else and highly recommends their chicken thai curry. The service is usually 100% only on one occassion they did not bring my coffee after lunch however they took off the service charge of 10% as an apology. This in itself is service. It is a little pricey but you will always enjoy the food so you are willing to pay that little extra.

4.0What can I say about someone who rushes in on a Sat. evening ordering a couple of coffees and a few 'bickies'. Well maybe cheapskate but how it happened [and not the first fime] we were off to the cinema and had about 20 mins. to kill.
That should be a test for a real service industry, and they came through with top marks. First we got those soft comfy seats by the window. The service was on the double, having rudely order as we walked past the cash desk. Still we repeated our order when the waiter came. Six 'bikies' and two coffees arrived within 5 mins. Over 50% of the tables were occupied but our service was still very good, and the coffees drinkable. A little expensive but you pay for service.

2.0The helpful Staff are the best feature of this diner. I asked for an omelette which wasn't on the menu and was accommodated without a grumble. My colleague had the club sandwich which he said was enjoyable. The coffee was passable and it was nice enough out to sit on the balcony. So a pleasant enough experience but not recommended for more than a sandwich and cuppa. For the mediocre quality of food and lack of atmosphere I'll give it a 6/10 - the staff redeemed it from a 4!

5.0The atmosphere here is a bit dull and its quite informal. The food is nice though. Very much a soup and sandwich kind of place. Don't expect more.

2.0We went for a bite to eat here on Saturday following a spot of shopping in Dundrum.
The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived but were shown to the only table which hadn’t been cleared of plates so we had to wait until a very shoddy job of a clean up was done. (still crumbs all over the table and chairs). We sat down and looked at the menu nevertheless.
When the waitress came around we ordered a starter only to be told they had none left. Ok these things happen. We asked for 2 minutes to reconsider the menu and ordered when she came back.
Herself had the fish pie and I had the vegetable wrap with hummus and wedges to share. The fish pie was nice but was tiny, the wrap was dry and the hummus was forgotten and the wedges never arrived.
After asking for a dessert menu it was brought to us 10 minutes later. When our dessert arrived (carrot cake was delicious) there were no sign of the coffees.
We ate the dessert and waited a further 5 minutes but no sign of the coffees. We then decided to ask for the bill and cancel the coffee.
The bill of course had coffees on it before being removed by the manager on duty.
As said in previous reviews the 10% service charge is included in the bill which I asked be removed which was also done.
In summary, food was ok but the service was horrific.

3.0Saturday evening before going to the cinema we popped into Harvey Nic's as many of the other restaurants were full up. The menu seemed to have something for everybody (burgers, fish, meat, chicken) so I went for the "fish crumble". I said to myself this will be either very good or very bad. Unfortunately it was the latter. The bowl was really small - like a tapas bowl and only came with a small side salad and stale bread. I was expecting a hearty meal with mash and veg, not some limp bread.
My friend fared better with fish & chips which looked good. The service was ok but not overly welcoming. They included 10% service charge on the bill, so no tip.
