seriously bad. The food is reheated and not fresh. Its loud and messy and it feels like your in a fast food chain. My gripe however was with a waitress who was seriously rude and didnt listen to our order and got everything wrong. i ordered a bowl of soup and when it came i had no soup spoon. Not annoyed yet i asked the lady for a soup spoon and i got a reply ''will you give me a minute''. Not impressed at all but i kept my patience. She disappeared for a few minutes and walked passed again and i had to ask again. She said nothing, walked away and came back with a spoon and slammed it on my table and walked away. At this stage i had enough. Tasted the soup which was like packet soup. Paid the bill and swore i'd never return

Avoid at all costs.. I used to be a regular patron of the old Bennigan's but since it changed over to Brannigan's things have definitely declined drastically. On what was a busy Sunday at Dundrum, there were only 3 other tables - no wander. Service was some of the worst I have had in a long time ( the waiter was more interested in talking about rugby than actually taking our order ). Took twenty minutes to get our orders placed and had to ask for drinks repeatedly before they arrived. The rib eye steak was very different to ones I have had there in the past and in general all of the food was bland and dry. The burger was unedible. Tuscan chicken consisted of a breast of chicken on a bed of burnt vegetables and what was supposed to be garlic bread ( no taste of garlic ). And then to top it off we were slapped with a compulsory 10% service charge! Ridiculous considering the lack of service. Prices are also not exactly "value for money" and there are some much better offers from other restaurants within the area. Will never be returning here again.

Food is good here, good size portions but a bit pricey. Good option if you are going for the cinema combo! The thing i really didn't like here was the service, the waitress was way too quick to take your plate, literally the second you put it down, she was just short of asking us to hurry up!! Won't be going back any time soon

got the combo starter for two and it was very tasty, had chicken, nachos, cheese breadsticks and wings, it really was a lovely starter, for mains i got the 12o ribeye steak which was very disappointing at 23 quid, not much of a taste off of it and was so tough to cut, might go back again but will defo stay the hell away from the steak

I am not a fan of American style restaurants but my friends wanted to go here so off we went. We shared a couple of different starters- wings, potato skins and onion rings- and they were all fine. I had a cajun chicken sandwich for my mains and it was very disappointing. There was cheese in it and the whole thing was very stolid. My friends had burgers and a stir-fry and they enjoyed theirs well enough. I feel that Bennigans is good for teenagers who like Burgers and chips and loud music. The staff are friendly but the place itself is not so enticing. I wont be hurrying back

I came here with my boyfriend for Valentine's. I must say it was quite disappointing. There was no atmosphere at all. Is it wrong to expect for the place to be a bit more romantic e.g. roses or candles being as it's Valentine's? The food was average. My steak unfortunately came out pretty chewy! I expected more for its' value. The service was good though. Our waitress was nice and the food came quickly. So if you're looking for just a quick bite to eat and nothing else, then this would be the place.

Not a fan of this restaurant, the place and decor is nice and it does sometimes have nice atmosphere but the food does not match it. The menu is big yet unimaginitive. My plate came out with a skin on the sauce and just felt like a quick conveyer belt dinner. The staff were not up to much either.

I can only say good things about this restaurant! Went once about 2 years ago had one of the most appetising meals Ive ever had and haven't stopped going back since!! I couldn't reccommend it any more. Delicious food and I personally think the service is amazing. Much better then many other restaurants Ive been to! Ive only ever had one problem there with a waitress but she was only new it seemed and didn't understand what I wanted at the time. But other then that. AMAZING! Get the steak! The steak and peppercorn sauce + the cocktails are the best in my opinion. Ive reccommended to friends and all have only good things to say about their experience there.

I like this place. The food is good, the booths that look out onto the towncentre waterfeature are comfortable and with a great view. Would benefit from adding to their veggie menu with maybe a veggie burger or something to match all the meaty/fishy options that is not hot or spicy.

I like this restaurant. I've been here a few times and think it's a great place for lunch or a casual dinner. The cocktails are really nice and the portions are big. Its got a real american vibe. The service has always been good and the staff have always been nice. I'd definately go back.

I had the salmon & shrimp for main course which came with a choice of two side orders and this became a very large dinner. The menu is big so plenty of choices. The waiter was really nice and provided a great service checking we were good for everything. I would recommend Bennigans.

We stopped here for supper mid-week, and it wasn't very busy. The service was dreadful; we nearly left before the waiter finally took our order and then he brought the food out AGES later and it looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for at LEAST half an hour, so we ate very little. The plate was arranged in a very sloppy fashion and the bill was overpriced. I would NOT recommend this restaurant.

Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful. I brought my two kids here for a bite and it couldnt have been worse. My daughter wanted soup and the soup of the day was chicken - cant go far wrong with chicken soup I thought - well I was wrong. The chicken was chopped into tiny gritty bits and was swimming in a bowl of coloured water. Mains were ok at best, chips were rock hard. Service is atrocious. Will never go back.

Unfortunately I have to agree with most of the other reviews here. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to check them out before visiting. Service was erratic at best. A man who looked like the manager took our drink and meal order. When he brought both, we were left to it. No one seemed to bother with us after that. It was nearly impossible to find someone to ask for vinegar or for our bill. The nicest thing about my fish & chips was the bottle of corona I had with it. The cod batter was barely cooked & soggy. The fish inside tasteless. The chips weren't bad but were very oily. The most reluctant €16.95 I've ever paid for a meal. My boyfriend got the steak sandwich which was ok but the ciabatta should've been toasted and there was no cheese which usually accompanies a steak sambo. It took ages to find someone to give us the bill - the couple next to us had to ask two different waiters. All in all, for €40 I'd rather go somewhere else.

I am a regular at this restaurant and my last two visits here have been less that satisfactory. Myself and my boyfriend had a quick bite to eat here on Sunday 23.11.08, and the service we got was disgraceful. The napkins were dirty, the waiter serving us was rude. We asked what the soup of the day was and he grunted "We dont do soup anymore" It was on the menu !!! At the end of the meal we had to go to the till at the front door to pay for the meal. The staff usually come to your table if you are paying by cash or laser. This waiter in question should not be working here. The other waiting staff are very pleasent and friendly. This waiter was not and I was disgusted at his arrogance and rudeness. I would not be suprised if there were other diners complaining about him.

Bennigans has been renamed Branngans (I think) but going on previous comments its the only change in this restaurant... My husband and I popped in here last Thursday for a quick bite to eat, we decided to try out one of the other Burger Bars in Dundrum. It was relatively quite in the restaurant and service was very slow. We shared the quesadilla for starters which was good, and we both opted for burgers for mains. I got the mushroom and onion burger which was very greasy, my husband got the bacon and cheese burger which wasn't as bad but still not great. We also had glasses of coke which were €3.95 each - rip off ireland at its best. With so much competition within Dundrum its hard to believe that one of the restaurants would let the ball drop so badly.

Good American style diner. I have eaten here a few times and I find the service good and the food fine for a diner. The starters are large and can be shared. The manager I find is very pleasant, she allowed me to have the nachos to share as a starter at half price as no one at our table wanted to order them with me. Nice for lunch or before the cinema, but hardly a place you would dine at for a special occasion.

4 of us went here Friday evening before the cinema and we all enjoyed it. The others had burgers, I had baby back ribs, the grub was pretty good, a few beers each, bill reasonable enough and the service was good. All in all it was pretty painless.

Oh why didn't I listen to the previous bad reviews, this place is a dive! I cant believe there were so many people there on a Saturday afternoon, the waitress who showed us to our table was extremely rude and uninterested and when we wanted to move table so my boyfriend could see the match she put us in the worst spot ever claiming all other seats were reserved, yet there was no signs on them. I ordered the Tuscan chicken which was greasy & tasteless, the so called roasted veg were practically raw and also tasteless, my partner had the smothered chicken which was also smothered in grease, overall it was disgusting and we only ate half of it, when it came to the bill it was 40 odd euro for 2 horrible mains & 2 cokes, I have nothing good to say about this place only avoid!!!

Ordered a blue cheese burger plain with just onions & sauce, got a blue cheese burger without cheese, onions or sauce. The hamburger I got brought back to me had the originally requested items, but this time was heavily pink all the way through. The staff had a horrible attitude towards a complaint about an undercooked burger, & treated it like it was an inconvenience to them. Restaurants that send out undercooked & well overpriced food & who treat customers with disdain because they do not wish toeat undercooked food have no business being open. I at least did not have to pay for the burger, & was told my drinks were free.

Hadn't eaten here in a while and did so last Wednesday night after I couldn't get into any other restaurant in Dundrum. Bennigans was half full (or empty) despite the queues elsewhere, and for a good reason. Just had one course and I mistakenly ordered the pasta with tomato and basil. It was barely edible and only for hunger I would have left it. The sauce was synthetic and very obviously heavily preserved and presumably shipped from many miles away. I'm sure that at some stage tomoatoes were used in the recipe but that was long before it reached my table. She had the fish and chips. A large portion of damp deep fried cod arrived out which was just not pleasant. €40 including two soft drinks. At this sort of quality it won't be long before they feel the recession pinch. The service was good however, but I don't think they will have jobs for too much longer.

I've eaten here several times and I find it much nicer and better value than similar restaurants. The platter is yummy and my favourite thing to order is the cheese and bacon potato skins. The service is good, but I don't understand how the hostess decides to seat you - it seems quite random and they don't ask if you have a preference, although they are happy to accommodate if you ask to move. I also had a rib eye steak here before and it was fantastic - a lot better than you'd get in some other, posher restaurants. Burgers are fantastic and the portion sizes are huge! It is on the pricey side for diner fare but a great place to go if you want relaxed, understated, uncomplicated American style food.

We visited Bennigans in Dundrum on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was quiet so we were given a nice booth to sit in. A waiter came to the table quite quickly and took our drinks order while we looked through the menus. Food is quite reasonably priced and there is a big selection of dishes to choose from. We ordered just mains: a 4oz burger that came with fries and a salad and an 8oz steak with fries and a side salad. The meal was good - portion sizes are big. Staff were very friendly and checked several times if we were enjoying our meal. I would recommend Bennigans for pre-cinema food for those who are hungry straight after work.

On the plus side the staff are very nice and I would recommend this place if you have around half and hour to forty minutes to kill before the cinema. We needed a quick bite and the food was brought to our table promptly. You know the type of food yourself, generic, nothing special at all. If you like the American (Planet Hollywood) style this will be a plus for you. Personally I find it quite soulless and corporate. Boyf had steak sandwich, I had mozzarella sticks....pretty forgettable

First visit here. We were seated immediately, early Sunday evening. Waiter was very pleasant, food was super quick arriving. Didn't have starter or dessert as we were not very hungry. I had ribs were so tasty, chips were very hot and lots of them. Partner had steak which he devoured, will be back, for three course next time.

I am a regular at this place as i live locally. I had a meal with my partner before we went to the cinema last night. Overall the service was efficent and the waiter was very friendly. Soup was very tasty. However problems occured with the main course. I ordered Spagetti Bolaganise. It usually arrives with Garlic Bread. I had to ask for this. Then i discovered that both the main courses brought out were lukewarm. They were obiviously left under the hot plate in the kitchen for approzx 10 minutes while waiting for us to finish our starters. I sent both dishes back and they were replaced within a few minutes. The service and food in Bennigans can either be hit or miss. Last nights experience was not a happy one. However this would not stop me from going back again.

I have to say that I was actually quite impressed. I had been here before and gotten a Burger which was pretty disgusting. This time around, my girlfriend got the ultimate nacho's, I got Chicken Fajitas and we shared the wings. The wings were really good, with plenty of good chicken on them. The fajitas were as good as I have had. Nacho's were not so great but overall, pretty good

The only good thing I can say about Bennigans is that our waiter was extremely nice, polite and friendly. The food is beyond bland and I stupidly ordered the winter greens instead of a salad and what I ended up with seemed like it came straight out of a freezer bag with 'green isle' written on it. The veg looked shrivelled and pale and smelt very off putting. Even the chips were horrible. Hub said his steak was fine but it wouldn't be enough to convince me to come back here.

My advice is to avoid this place like the plague. The food was lacklustre and drab. It was pricey enough for what it was and the service was beyond belief. Somehow our table managed to get caught in no-mans-land between different waitresses. After sitting without service for ages, we actually got up to get someone - which started a full blown argument between the two waitresses in question. Beyond a joke.

Been here a few times. Food is always very nice, always the same, so no complaints. Atmosphere is good, music is audible but not too loud. Service seems to be touch and go. One waiter we had was lovely, very friendly, attentive and helpful with anything we asked for. However when we asked another waiter for a soft drink top up and dessert menu, he seemed put out and as if we were being awkward. This has happened before with the same waiter, just not generally being friendly with us. In saying that, the other waiters are always very friendly. Appetisers are always filling and nice, main courses are always cooked to your liking and very tasty. Desserts nicely top off your meal. Will be returning here. Also have been here for a large party, and the service was very good.

Ate here at the weekend, have been a few times before and its always the same! The food is grand, nothing too spectacular but the service is just not good! We got a platter between 4 of us for starter, the platter was brought to us - no plates, no cutlery, no serviettes, and when we asked for plates, the waitress was very put out!!! The salmon, one friend got, came without the sauce & the coleslaw that was stated on the menu and again when the waitress was asked for them she wasnt too impressed! Id say the place was grand for "cheap & cheerful" food, but the prices arent very cheap for what you get at all!!

To be honest this isn't really a great restaurant, which is a shame considering the US counterpart is FAR better. Service can be a bit hit & miss, and food can be overpriced. We only really go here if we're in Dundrum and I'm in the mood for a bit of chicken Caesar salad. It's nothing special - but hits the spot.

Went here with a few friends, found the service extremely slow and I got the wrong starter, the waitress had an attitude that I wanted to send it back! Eventually when my proper starter arrived, everyone else was finished theirs. Food was ok though

i was here before a trip to the cinema last weekend, and I thought that altough the service was slow and the atmosphere could have been better - the food was tasty (burger) and it was great value for money. In my opinion it is good for a quick bite to eat either post shopping or pre cinema!

Have been here a number of times over the last couple of years and it does the job! Food is cheapish, service is good and it's nice and handy if you fancy a big feed after shopping or before the cinema. Went last night and got the Spicy Children wrap which was quiet nice although a bit dry for my liking!

I've eaten here on a couple of occasions purely because it's local, but I won't be back. Unless you really enjoy the taste of fat & everything deep fried, then I wouldn't recommend this place - plus the service is very slow, the first time I think I was lucky. It's american type food - nothing to write home about, and not at all surprised by the other reviewer with the Carbonara sauce - laughable, but pretty much sums up what to expect!!

Absolutely awful - Ive eaten here a few times as requested by friends. The food was either cold, took extremely long or the service was bad each time. It wasnt the waiting staff's fault - there just wasnt enough people on to cover each section. I love the seats and the whole steak house feel, but the food was just terrible.

The place has a social, relaxed atmosphere .Nice place to go with friends or maybe a first date! The seating consists of a mixture of tables and large booths. The onion rings were a bit odd, but nice, very generous portion! The chicken sandwich/ciabatta look great, also the nachos. Wouldn't recommend the duck wrap at all. Service was good, very friendly. Free refills, which is always a bonus.

I've eaten here a number of times and everytime the service has been efficient, and the food quality quite good. It is an american grill style restaurant, so not somewhere you linger over a meal, but certainly great for a quick but decent bite to eat with friends, with kids, or before a movie.

Wouldn't give this food to your dog is the only apt description for the food served in Bennigans. I know they are not trying to serve haute cuisine but they can't even get pasta right. My friend ordered carbonara and it did not even resemble anything that tasted like carbonara, so embarrassed we said to the waiter look we are really sorry but this was not carbonara, to which he replied 'oh the suppliers never delivered the carbonara sauce today' and went to walk away from the table. So we called him back to basically find out what the hell was on the supposed ‘carbonara’ and to bring a menu, so my friend then ordered the arrabiata – how wrong could you get this? There was not a smidge of flavour from the sauce it tasted like tinned tomato puree on pasta. And turns out the previous sauce was just cream! Appalled we had to actually pay for what I couldn’t even call food!

Revisted for the first time in few months for lunch with my younger brother. There was only another five tables eating. It took 20 mins to take our order and 40 mins to deliver maincourse which when arrived the meat was burnt. I was extremly unimpressed with the service, I just got a quick apology for the wait. The food just isn't worth the wait. I won't be returning here.

No one expects a fine dining experience from this type of diner but it's reasonable to expect good quality food.. The place had a worn grungy feel to it and it's not that old. Food is bland and doesn't come close to the American diners it tries to emulate and the service is indifferent. Overall a crappy experience.

As far as this type of restaurnt goes Bennigans is only ok. They've an extensive menu with all the usual suspects but the quality of the food isn't really up there with some other places of a similar style. It's ok but I wouldn't put it hight on my list of favourites...

Myself and my partner popped in here for food last year and it was quite good. But called in a couple of weeks back after a bit of shopping and it was a different story. Starters werent particularly fresh - were quite big, sometimes a good thing, sometimes not. Both ordered med-well cooked steaks with baked potato, chips & side of mushrooms. We were waiting for nearly a half hour when the waiter came to apologise. Of course they arrived out a few minutes later and it was obvious they had been forgotten about and had been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be delivered to our table. The steak was very well done and dried out. The mushrooms were cold, you couldnt have eaten them. The baked potato was well withered. We were too starved to send it back having waited so long. But i complained to the waiter when we were getting the bill. He didnt apologise nor offer money off. He couldnt have cared less. I dont expect an awful lot from these types of American diners, of which there are plenty in Dundrum TC, but how hard is it to do a couple of steaks right! Its so annoying to come home from eating out, knowing you would have done much better yourself at home for a fraction of the price!

Popped in here for dinner yesterday. Bennigans is good for fast food. It's a place you drop into for a bite, not plan an evening out in. This was our second visit here and we found the service very good. We ordered three starters - chicken fajita quesadillas, golden mushrooms, and deep fried mozzarella sticks. They were all nice but let me warn you, we also had main courses that we didn't need - the main courses are normal portion size but the starters are huge!! There were about 10 mushrooms in a portion for example! Next time, we will share the starters! Don't expect anything special here, it is fast food after all. We will return to Bennigans when we fancy this kind of food in Dundrum.

Went to Bennigans when it opened first and I was totally unimpressed by the food. It was somewhere for our kids to eat and ourselves to have a drink. The last time we went the kids got a very doughy pizza and it turned them off. However, a few weeks ago, I returned with the kids and they had changed their pizza (to a processed pizza!). The kids were happy with this and it was accompanied by chips. I just had a glass of wine because I cannot bring myself to eat the type of carbo-laden 'prison' food that is on offer for exorbitant prices. However, I noted that on Monday and Tuesday nights, kids eat free with a full paying adult, which is quite a good deal, if you're into that sort of food.

Had dinner in Bennigans with 5 friends early last year - wasn't very impressed. Had mushroom soup to start - the texture and taste alike were awful. My main course of fajitas was nothing to write home about. Personally I feel there are much better places to dine in Dundrum.

Ate lunch here while out christmas shopping, have to say wasn't overly impressed really, I had fajitas that were nice but nothing special but the other half had golden chicken gougons with a jacket potato (the size of a golf ball), this was like a childs portion & my boyfriend ended up eating half of my dinner because he was hungry.

Varied menu to suit most people. Food is ok, nothing spectacular. Good atmosphere, nicely decorated. And if you have to wait for a table you can go shopping in Dundrum and they'll buzz you when your table is ready.

Im pretty much a regular in this place. I enjoy the food and the staff are friendly. On one occasion when dining with a party of 5, 2 of the meals were COLD. I assume there were left on the hotplate in the kitchen. I sent the 2 meals back and they came back hot and good to eat. My only negative comment is about a member of waiting staff who appears to have been hired just to clear tables. Any chance he gets, he takes an empty glass or plate. There is a method of service in restaurants. This guy needs to be trained up to take food orders from customers and wait on tables. Diners need to be left in peace with having their meals and not have everything swiped from under them as soon as they have finished a course. I know this guy has a job to do, but I'm sure he is more than capable than this.

Not a good spot at all...went there for an evening meal. My partner order the fajitas which were ok, but we expected them to arrive sizzling...seemed a bit lacking in sauce. Sides were ok, fresh guacamole for a change, but they had obviously been left out for a while and had a skin, not a disaster but equally not nice. Chips were not very well cooked, could do a lot better there. Fish was fine, came with three sauces, again with a skin...Waitress was ok, but grabbed plates from the table while we were still finishing...not good, even if she thought we were finished she had the time to stop once she realised...won't be going back there again, not worth it. Try a fast food place for same quality but cheaper!

Typical american style food and diner. The food is good and a good selection on the menu. Free Refills are always a plus. The Portion sizes a very good I have to say. Staff can be a bit slow - but it depends on the time off the day.It is a bit pricey though but the same in comparison to the usual supects.

A Birthday Party for a nine year old and it could all go horribly wrong - but not in Bennigan's. Outstanding service from the minute we arrived. All the staff were friendly and could not do enough for either the adults or the VIPs. Food was good - typical American diner stuff but well prepared and presented. Would recommend for a casual meal for grown ups before or after shopping or a movie and,of course, for childrens' birthday parties.

Had dinner here last night before doing a bit of shopping. Its like an American diner just alot bigger. The food was good, we got excatly what we expected. The menu has a great selection to suit all and you get free refills on the soft drinks! I had the Tuscan Chicken and my boyfriend had the burger with Fries, with 2 soft drinks the bill came to €35.

I will always stand up for this type of place as I'm a fried food junkie but when you can't cook food as easy as this there is something wrong. Ordered a chicken wrap with chips for main and the wrap was ok and a very decent portion but the chips were almost raw which is inexcusable. Also guys, putting one lettuce leaf and one slice of tomato on a plate does not constitute presentation skills and just makes the food look worse. The place is big enough and service ok but food lets it down and it's not exactly rocket science to cook this type of stuff is it?

Went here before going to the Cinema. Typical American style diner. Little atomosphere, service left a lot to be desired, slow and looked like they really hated their job. Free refills but not unless you ask! The presentation of the food was bland, chips and a burger,no attempt to garnish or dress. Menu selection was meagre although the prices were not. Won't be returning.

Went here for an early dinner one evening. The food was tasty, although we went for fish and chips and a steak, which I'd say would be hard to get wrong. Service was just brutal though. We were waiting ages for our starter, ages for the plate to be taken away, another half hour for our main course (when it arrived I was waiting another 20 mins for my side order of coleslaw to arrive). I won't even go into how long it took to get and pay the bill. All in all: good food, crap service. Won't be going back.

Went in one Friday lunchtime for a quick bite - and found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Had the combo platter to share, which was excellent value. The 2 of us have quite hearty appetites and there was enough on the platter for 2 of us. It's standard pub grub and good value.

Went to Bennigans for the cinema deal. When you book a table you can book your cinema tickets too. When you arrive your cinema tickets are at your table wating for you. Saves on queing! Food was lovely, I had the cheese burger and it was fab. Portions are good, I couldn't finish what I ordered. Staff are friendly and atmosphere was nice. Will definitely go back agin.

Absolutely great place! Cheap, cheerful, excellent service. Menu has so much variety and food is always excellent. Cinema deal is also excellent, you get your cinema ticket and meal for € 20...and they even go down and get the tickets for you!!!! Only thing is cinema menu is different to main menu so a bit limited but still great value. The nachos are amazing, although would probably do me as a main course as opposed to a starter to share!

I often go to Bennigans before going to the cinema. I usually get either fish & chips or the chicken dippers. Both are gorgeous!! Potato skins are lovely too. Service is hit and miss though. Usually it is very, very slow and hard to get the waiters' attention. I've never had to book a table though- no matter what time I go. As I say, service is poor but the food makes me want to return.

This is the least attractive restaurant in the Dundrum Shopping Centre, both for food and service! The worst fillet steak... cold and dry.

Mixed emotions about this place... On the one hand it’s good for meal and the flicks. They do a discounted menu when you buy cinema tickets with them. Nice wings and burgers. Then again, I got a steak sandwich here that was horrible, and the staff are borderline rude when you arrive. If you don’t have a booking then you might as well forget about it!

This restaurant is nothing special, when they opened first it was nice but its gone down hill since then including their service, food & atmosphere. They seem to of let their standards drop. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless it’s in conjunction with the 2 for 1 promotion.

Went to Bennigans once for lunch and I will definitely not be returning. I had ribs which were tasteless dry and fries which were cold and looked like they had been lying around for a few hours. My fiancé had a burger which he said was 'ok' but nothing special and his fries were as cold as mine. The service was poor and slow. It took ages to get a drink refill and ages for the bill to arrive. Needless to say we did not leave a tip!

I have been here twice & will not go back again. The food is tasteless & overpriced, especially for lunch. The staff always seems to disappear when you need them; paying the check takes forever & the music is way too loud. This place is ok if you like music blaring in your ears & you like paying too much for your food; so if you can, I would avoid this Bennigan's!

Bennigans seems to have dropped its standards of late. I would usually drop in for lunch midweek but of late the food has been cold or reheated and almost like it was there from the day before. Prices have not changed thankfully but it's one place I wouldn’t visit in a hurry again unfortunately.

I have eaten there many times and opted for the burgers, which are very tasty, but the last time I chose the vegetarian stir fry, which was bland and under cooked.

Loved the Spinach & Ricotta Tortellini and I also had a panini here which was delicious, its slightly expensive for what it is which is simply pub grub but nice all the same!

I actually enjoyed my meal here only a couple of weeks ago. Ordered the Garlic Mushrooms for starters and they tasted very fresh and yummy too and there was enough for a starter! Got the vegetarian Fajitas for mains and the portion was very big. Our waiter was very friendly and kept topping up our drinks at no extra cost, which we didn’t know at the time. Price was pretty reasonable too for the area and would probably visit again.

The food was greasy and cold, much like the service. It was a Saturday night and while most restaurants would be doing a great amount of business this place was quiet with staff hanging around doing nothing. We asked to have the food, after we had the wrong order given to us twice, to be reheated. It seemed like an utter inconvenience to them, while they stood around chattering, to actually do their job. The drinks came about thirty minutes into the meal, I saw they had been made and were sitting waiting for collection by the waiter. I wanted to see how long it would take before they would reach our table. The whole meal was a disaster. I would not return here.

This place is pretty average. Not fantastic, but I wouldn't say it's as bad as some of the other reviewers are making out. Every now and again I get a bit of a craving for the fish, their batter is some of the best I've had. It's not that pricey, it's pretty average for Dublin, and certainly quite reasonable considering it's in the nest of overpricing that is Dundrum! Not the worst, but probably not the best place you'll ever eat.

I am generally not a fan of Bennigans due to its poor service, mediocre food (with some exceptions) and the fact that it’s always cold (they should learn to turn off the air conditioning when its raining, really sucks!). But it has two things going for it, firstly the menu is diverse enough to satisfy the three generations of my family whom I normally end up here with and secondly, its location. I have to say it is on improving on everything except value and I have never found the portions stingy. The exceptions to the mediocre food rule are (in my opinion) the fish and chips, the southwest fajita wrap and spinach and ricotta pasta. The desserts are not even worth looking at (especially with really good cake and ice-cream places just inside the centre) but the cinema deal is good. Overall a so-so restaurant which could do with some serious improvement.

If this is pub grub, it should be priced as such. This place seems to be trying to emulate TGI Friday's and it fails miserably. Portions are small and overpriced. I had bruschetta, which was on a boring slice of baguette, with some fresh tomato salsa on top of it, and no mozzarella. For 7 euro I would expect more.

To be honest, I won't be returning here to eat again. The food was very boring and tastless, even the milkshake I got wasn't nice - how hard is a milkshake to get wrong?! Pretty overpriced for what it was. The girl serving us was lovely and friendly but it's just not worth the cost.

I think some of the other reviews are probably a bit harsh, but having said that - this is not what I'd call a special restaurant. It's an eatery really, standard food with decent enough service. If you're hungry & not too fussed about a very high standard of food, this'll probably hit the spot. It is pricey though, probably enough to put me off going regularly. I can recommend the quesidilla, it is pretty tasty!

Don't bother unless you like bad service, poor food and even worse value. Worst steak(dry, tough and overcooked)we both had in a very long time. If everywhere is full try the cinema for popcorn!! Only went there to save cooking before cinema but won't go back unless I hear it's changed management. Can't understand how it was so packed as this usually suggests good food .

Very dissapointed, having had many great experiences in Bennigans in the states i was delighted to hear they had come to Dublin. when we got there the place was pretty empty, the girl shoed us to our table almost on top of another couple! i asked her could we move over beside the window and she gave me a stern NO. this got to us and instantly created a bad atmosphere. On the upside our waiter was cool, friendly and helpful. The food was the biggest let down, I know Bennigans for big portions of tasty quality food, this was none of the above, it was dry tasteless and boring, will never go back!!

Went here for the first time a couple of months ago and my experience was one I would not like to have again. The service was slow, the cutlery looked like it had never been washed (bits of food still stuck to the fork), a hair in my friends dessert, dirty cups. After the great reviews I had heard off other people about this place I was very surprised. The food was not what expected. Will not be going here again!!!!

Not the nicest place to eat - but its that style of restaurant - American Diner! I will say one positive thing about the place - HUGE portions!! If you have a big appetite and you’re in the mood for American-Diner food, I recommend it! I couldn’t finish mine! The foods not the best quality, and maybe a bit over-priced because of this. Lacks atmosphere too - TV screens showing football matches kind of ruins the moment!

My partner, a friend and I ate in Bennigans a few weeks ago. My friend had a starter of Buffalo wings which were tiny and dried out. They cost €8.00, which I think, was exorbitant. My partner and I shared an onion haystack, which was actually quite nice. 40 Minutes (we timed it) after our starter plates were cleared away our mains courses arrived. I had the fish and chips. The fish wasn't cooked properly and had layer of gluey flour between the Fish and the batter. I couldn't eat it. The chips were soggy. My partner and our friend had steaks, which were overdone compared to how they had requested them. They got two side orders with their steaks. One being sautéed Mushrooms and other sautéed onions. The size of these side orders was a joke. They were in little individual pots, which would have only held a tablespoonful if even that much. The peppered sauce served with the steaks was more like gravy and had an unpleasant skin on the top of it. We didn't complain - mainly for fear of getting our food tampered with and due to the fact that we had 5 minutes to spare before the film we had booked tickets for was due to start. We weren't asked if we enjoyed our meal. I think this restaurant represents exceptionally bad value for money and is appalling compared to Bennigans restaurants I have visited in the US. Our bill came to a total of €86 - money I dearly wish I had spent elsewhere. Bennigan's do not acknowledge e-mails to perhaps offer some explanation into why our meal was so poor. Avoid like the plague.

We usually pop in here for a bite before or after the cinema. The food is nice enough, there is often a bit of a wait and I find it it's quite overpriced. It's nothing special and for the money it's not really worth the hassle -espcially as McDonalds is just downstairs...!

I would call this more a fast food joint...or if I’m being totally honest.... slow food joint! It’s ok if you're out shopping and need a quick break and some food but it's not a place to go for a nice romantic meal with a loved one! I can't make my mind up about the staff.... either they give you the menu and give you about a minute and then ask for your order or they do the complete opposite and wait about 20-30 minutes before asking for your order. The food is ok. It's not the cleanest place to eat either.

Decent restaurant would be the best way to describe it. Though I've been several times with my boyfriend because we found 2 dishes that we both very much enjoy and the seating is comfortable. However, the service is one of the most appalling I've seen. Often we are left 20 minutes without so much as a greeting. My food (usually the Chicken Tortellini) has come out cold once or twice but usually we're waiting so long that we hardly care to ask for a remake and just ask to have it heated up which brings the taste back. Desserts aren't work a look at all. Overall pricey and overrated.

Absolutely dreadful and expensive also. Myself and my husband used to go their with the kids because we were able to order a pitcher of beer and just let the children eat. The odd time we share fajitas which were very mediocre and overpriced at 18.50. The kids used to get pizza but the last time they went there, the pizza was so doughy and deep pan, they couldnt eat it. Very overpriced carbohydrate laden junk!

I thought I'd try the combined cinema/meal ticket for Movies@Dundrum for 3 people. What a disaster! Wait, wait and wait again. When the food finally arrived it was disgusting - cold and bad quality, in fact it was inedible. I brought it to the attention of the Manager, whose only excuse was that they were short staffed. In my opinion they should not take in customers if they cannot serve them properly. I won't return and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. It is nothing like the Bennigans in the US.

Very bog standard American kind of food. Mainly a burgers, pizzas, goujons type menu with a selection of desserts too. It's all a bit too greasy and stoggy for my liking though. Ok to grab a bite in before the cinema although with other restaurants across the way I go there if you can get seats.

My friend and I popped into Bennigan's Thursday last at about 8pm. We were in a terrible rush to get to the cinema for 8.30 so we mentioned this to the host. She called the manager over and she assured us that we would be out on time. Our waiter tended to us immediately, and within 5 minutes of ordering, our food was out on the table. Food great and service great. Can't really ask for anything more.

Popped in here on my lunch break to meet some friends. We were seated immediately as there was only on other couple in the entire place. And after our experience it's not hard to see why. We were given menus and ordered soft drinks while we waited. The drinks arrived and were flat and stale tasting. When the waiter eventually came back to take our order, ten minutes later, we mentioned the drinks. He mumbled something about the machine being broken but didn't offer an alternative until we asked what else was on offer. We settled for water and placed our order. I had the chicken pasta, and my friends all had burgers and fries. The order took half an hour to arrive, and only after we had repeatedly asked both waiters where the food was!! The food itself was ok. Nothing better than the fast food outlets opposite though. The problem was, we barely had time to eat our meal, we were waiting so long. And to make matters worse, the service was dreadful. When settling the bill, I noticed the drinks we had returned were still on the bill! Needless to say we won't be returning here in a hurry. Which is a shame because it's in a fantastic location and the meal and cinema deal sounds like it could offer value for money. Although that would be assuming you actually got to see the movie, after a lengthy wait for your meal!

The slowest restaurant on the planet. We went to Bennigans for a meal before going to the cinema. We gave ample time considering we were only having a main course. After we ordered we waited one hour and fifteen minutes for a very average meal. The staff were not in the least bit helpful constantly saying five more minutes and why we didn’t leave I cannot fathom.

Myself and my boyfriend popped in before the cinema, and were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly. I want crazy about the food, the atmosphere was ok but I would say it would be great to go for a drink and watch some sports, as there are large TVs for screening big games.

This place has to be the worst I have ever eaten in and the staff were a complete joke, including the manager! Shame because it is in a great location.

I had eaten in Bennigan's a few times it was ok but did not feel that I wanted to go there all the time maybe they should change there menus a few times in the year to make you want to come back and see if it was any different.

Myself and my boyfriend used to pop in here before the cinema, it’s never that busy and there is a reason for this. The food is ok it's your run of the mill burgers etc, the staff are helpful but the place appears not so clean. The tables always tend to be greasy/sticky and as for the toilets they are a disgrace. Every time I have been there the same one toilet is in working order, not clean but barely usable. The bathroom floor is always awash with water and toilet paper. The other two toilets are always clogged and full to the top with water etc. I was always told to judge any establishment by their toilets, these are the areas you can see, imagine how dirty behind the scenes where you can't see is. So based on the state of their toilets I refuse to eat there. Each time I have been there I have complained about the toilets to a member of staff and they don't seem to care.

I can’t believe all these bad reviews, I have been there loads of times and always have a great time! And the one only problem I had is the waiters can be too friendly. Come on people give it a chance!

Was there last night and had a really nice experience. Service was quick and pleasant and the food was very nice too; not exactly top-notch grub but that’s not what you’re looking for here. If you like burgers, steaks, etc its a good place to go.

Ate at Bennigans last night with a group of friends - ten of us in total. Service was very poor and because it is a diner type of restaurant it seemed as if the staff felt they didn't need to offer a standard of service that you would find in "normal" restaurants - no wine cooler, filled glasses of wine for us and passed them down the table to people (?), starters took ages to arrive and they never cleared the table - suddenly someone arrived with our main courses and we were sitting there with starter plates all over the table and no clean cutlery etc... starters were nice and big portions but main courses were terrible - nobody really seemed to like their meal at all. And no real atmosphere. I've eaten here before and liked it but think its best for a quick bite with a very small group.

Average, would not really recommend. I have been there three times and the last two times they gave me meat when I asked for a vegetarian dish. The staff don't really know what they are up to and that's probably the managers fault. It all seems a bit disorganised for me!

I have absolutely no idea about the food. I took a seat and 20 minutes later no one came over to take my order so I walked out and that was when the place was pretty empty!

Myself and my friend popped in her for a bite to eat last Friday. We were seated immediately but the place felt greasy and not very well looked after. It wasn't very busy for a Friday evening. We were served by a friendly enough waiter who took our drinks order and brought them promptly, however we were left to mull over the less than exciting menu for a further 10 minutes. When the order was taken and the food arrived it was bland. I ordered a classic burger and salad with dressing and my friend had a panini with salad and no dressing. Her panini was soggy with the dressing I had ordered as they had mixed it up and the waitress had managed to spill the contents all over my friend’s plate. The only plus to the experience was the free refills. Not somewhere I’d be going again.

I think some of the other reviews are a little off. I went to Bennigan's about a year ago when it first opened and again during the summer and wasn’t very happy with my experience, the food was cold and of poor quality and the service slow. Have been back again twice since then though and everything went really well. The food was served very fast and the quality had improved a lot. Staff were helpful and efficient. I'd give this place a chance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. They do a deal with the cinema for €20 for dinner and cinema ticket which is great value. Lovely food and very friendly staff.

This place is fantastic. We were there last night - thought it would be quiet as it was a Tuesday but it was very busy. It seemed to be slightly understaffed but the service was faultless and the food excellent.

I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about Bennigans so I decided to try it out for myself and I was left disappointed. It was a quiet Friday night there which I thought odd at first, our food took ages to come and when it did arrive it was not very warm and we still hadn't received our drinks. The food didn't taste too great either and the service was really bad considering it was a quiet Friday night, I wouldn't go back again maybe except for the chocolate cake which surprisingly did taste good!

Went there on a Saturday afternoon and even though the place was packed full of shoppers we still had a very enjoyable experience. The food was nice and hot, tasted great and there is great variety; service was very good too. In and out in an hour, exactly what you want when shopping

Big disappointment. Food was over priced, luke warm and portion too small. The waitress, after we asked for clean knife & fork, took 10 minutes to come back with a clean set, in the mean time our luke warm food had arrived and was getting colder the longer it took her to return.

Have eaten in Bennigans twice, the first time I wasn’t overall impressed, it was very busy and the service wasn’t great. The second time most recently had a better experience, had a voucher for two main courses for the price of one from the back of the cinema ticket which made the meal nice and cheap. Ordered the nachos for starters and it was a huge portion would have feed about 4 people. They also serve Sol beer which I love and never see anywhere, so that made my day!

I went to Bennigan's last week where they have midweek special where to get a main course and a cinema ticket for twenty euro, good value. Try the chocolate brownie!!

This place is a disgrace!! I suppose if you have small kids and want to go somewhere more substantial than McDonalds then its OK at the most, but to be honest I'd enjoy a McDonalds more, I had the burger and I had to send it back, it was cremated!!

I think this is a complete rip off of T.G.I. Friday's, right down to their ribs. What’s the story with the cocktail menu with all the fancy pictures but yet they don't make any of them? Staff were quite nice though and food was almost hot. Overall you'd want to be really hungry.

We thought this lively place was very good value for what we received, i.e. very substantial portions of good quality food. Its not top dollar grub but then again that’s not why you would go there. If you’re looking for some good burgers, steaks, ribs or pastas this is a good place to go to get it. Great staff too - most of them quite young but experienced beyond their years.

We had a delicious meal. There is great variety on the menu so there was something for all my family, even my little ones. As far as price goes it definitely betters anything else on offer in the shopping centre, especially its new neighbours upstairs. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I thought the food was mediocre at best although there was an abundance of staff the whole experience was very disappointing especially since they have a meal deal with Dundrum Cinema.

The only good thing about this restaurant is the staff, the food was of poor quality and frankly disappointing. Poor overall.
