Went on one of those vouchers deals i.e. €60 worth of food & drink for 2 for €30. Since the 3 course set menu was €22 that left us with €16 for drinks including tea & coffee, plenty you would think since I'm a teetotaler. I asked could I also see the a la carte menu too as well as the specials set menu. The gentleman in charge explained there was a chowder & a parsnip soup. Both I & my companion interpreted that the chowder was available on the special set menu & we both went for it. It was to die for, full of delicious chunks of salmon & white fish though a tad underseasoned. It was served with 1 slice of stout bread, unusual but unlike the soup, limited. I'm a pepper freak & asked for a black pepper mill & then white pepper since both shakers on the table were salt, their mistake not mine. I sensed some audible irritation from the gentleman serving on my 2nd request for white pepper. The medallions of pork had been replaced by pork belly which I hate so I went for the lemon chicken from the limited menu. It had the taste of the Med alright but it was plain & only came with a light jus, nothing to rave about IMHO. My companion had salmon simply done & he loved it. His roast (more sauteed) & my mashed potatoes were to die for, the latter was lovely & creamy. There had been a run on the Tiramisu & there was none left for moi by 3pm which annoyed me. I went for warm lemon drizzle cake with amaretto ice cream which was gorgeous, my companion went for apple crumble with vanilla ice cream but got amaretto instead. He really enjoyed it despite the mistake in the order. On being presented with the bill it turned out we owed €9. I only had 1 mineral & tea, my companion had a glass of wine costing €6.50 with regular coffee. The voucher should have more than covered it. When I queried it the proprietor told us he had charged us from the a la carte menu as I requested. I had done nothing of the sort, I had just asked to see it & certainly wouldn't have chosen that chicken dish had I been ordering from it. Both of us w

Four of us had an early-bird at Bianconis early in the evening, so the restaurant was very quiet. I started with the Bruschetta, which was a bit too oily. My wife's Pate was perfect however. We shared the daily pizza special, caramelised onion and rocket, as recommended, and this was delicious. I'd also recommend the American Hot / Pepperoni pizza. I'd a glass of house red, from Abruzzo, and this was well above par. Service was attentive and helpful, and we all agreed that we would visit again, without hesitation.

really enjoyed this restaurant, quite pleasant, with candles and all. We went there with a voucher we bought online so we didnt know what to expect, but we were surprise by the quality of the food, we had the fish of the day served with potatoes and the potatos was amazing taste. We also got two glasses of white wine. We didnt ordered dessert but got the delicious homemade italian icecream instead, which we ate on the way home. The icecream was perfect. Great experience, would definately go back to this place!

Have been here quite a few times and really enjoy every time I go. Last time, I had a salad plate with three salads which were delicious and so fresh. Friendly staff. Great place to stop for a coffee and a browse of the paper or lunch. Close to RTE so you might even spot star or two!

Have a really enjoyed friend's bothday trips here. Lovely cosy, atmosphere. The early bird menu is excellent value too. And even though I got the impression it's frequented mostly by couples and groups, I was there with my sis and her 2-year old and they were very obliging and brought out some toddler-friendly food.

We visited Bianconis on a Saturday night at 7pm. The restaurant amounts to one very long corridor and is totally lacking in character. We had a meal voucher for €60 and was offered a set meal for €25 less the dessert and a glass of wine. The voucher value was clearly overstated by the management in view of the set menu pricing. The restrictions pertaining to the voucher were not highlighted properly when purchased. We have reviewed the meal as if we had paid the full prices. My wife had a cheese starter and I had the pate which were OK but nothing exceptional. Main courses - salad and fish dish. Again both were reasonable quality food but nothing exceptional. Service was extremely slow and quite poor and well below the standard one would expect. Ten to fifteen minute wait between courses. Red Sicilian wine at €29.50 was good quality wine. Overall very poor atmosphere, appalling service and just about OK food. Medicocre experience at best, not recommended. Definitely Will not be back.

Been a long time since we were here. But the guy who owns it is still as pleasant, helpful and professional as ever. Also still excellent value for money. My Mother in Laws 70th Birthday on Sunday saw the family (a big one) congregate at extended tables and each of us enjoyed the three course Sunday special meal. I had Crostini Rustici to start, Pollo Ai Funghi E Panna for my main and hot apple pie and cream to top it off. Good wholesome tummy nourishment. My sister in law opted for the smoked salmon starter and the Insalata Contadina Invernale which she said was 'good'. Ideal for a family gathering and something to suit all tastes on the menu. No doubt we'll be back for future family occasions!

Called in for lunch. Quiche wasn't great but acceptable and came with three nice fresh salads. Half pizza and chips was excellent - being awkward I asked for a fresh pizza as we were late for lunch and the one waiting to be reheated looked a bit tired, it was worth the wait. Nice people and good value.

Great service, great atmosphere, lovely choice of desserts. They will pack up your pizza to take away if you're not finished which is very nice. Top standard food. A great little place to have in this part of dublin!

We were members of a party of about 20 there for a Family reunion & we didn't pay, so cannot comment on the value. However I do have to say, the food was excellently prepared and tasted superb. I had the salmon for starters,, then the sirloin, and both tasted really good, with the steak done exactly as I wanted. Our 4 yo Daughter was also well looked after, and she loved the pasta. We will be back!

I went here for the second time this year. This time as a party of five and all had a wonderful meal. The food hot plates were very hot and the place was clean and warm. There was one waiter serviceing the whole place and he did a wonderful job advising us on the dishes of the day. Great night out we were all very happy. Will be back again.

This is one of the few Italians in Dublin that get the thumbs up. The food is standard Italian pizza/pasta with some nice meat and fish dishes too. I had a Hawaiian pizza and the chunks of pineapple were lovely and fresh and the ham good quality. My partner also had a pizza. We were driving so ordered soft drinks which came in huge ice cold glasses. It was perfect! The waiters are very attentive and packed up our leftover pizza (they are very big!) in lovely boxes which was a nice touch. If you have a sweet tooth they have a great range of desserts up at the top of the restaurant in a fridge. It's a pity it is out of my way otherwise I would dine here more often. The city centre needs an Italian like this one!

By chance have eaten here 2 nights this week. This restaurant seems to do a steady trade with people coming in and out. We were offered several menus from early bird, to set menu for €28, and also their a la carte. Food was fine, what we ordered was what we got. One of the few restaurants around that serves veal milanese, really veal on this occasion and not pork. My only observations would be that the restaurant gets a liitle dark as you move down the back and also on both occasions the friendly waiter seemed to be running the whole show on his own.

"Never Again" Thats what I thought about returning to Bianconis as I was pulling a foot long hair out of my soup. It's rare that I felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. The service is cool and distant, the selection very limited and for the food, well the soup was nice if it had'nt got someones hair in it. The menu is overpriced, make no mistake I for one won't be back.

I have eaten here a few times as I work in the area and there is very little else around. There is generally a good atmosphere, food is always tasty but pretty overpriced - the best way to work it is to order at the counter and then take your seat - you could be left waiting for a while if you are depending on the staff to take your order from where you're sitting!

We called in here today for a morning coffee and snack. No real complaints with anything except the price. I was genuinely startled to be asked for €13.60 for two coffees, one florentine (€3.50!!!) and one slice of cake (€5.50!!!). Both florentine and cake were nothing special but nice enough. The price left a very sour taste. This was a queue up and pay at the counter job so you aren't even paying for table service. The owners of places like this need to understand that the days when no price was too silly are long gone. There are just too many other places around where the standard of everything is as good and better but the prices are more reasonable. I had no complaints but I would not go back until a realistic price adjustment is made.

We decided to celebrate Irelands Win at Bianconi's, our first visit. The atmosphere was electric, as we entered the place was buzzing. Thank goodness we reserved a table, because it was packed. We had the all night set menu at €28 each which included a free bottle of wine. I asked for spaghetti carbonara which was not on the menu and told no problem. And it was the best in Dublin. For dessert I had the Panna Cotta which is home made and mouth watering. The service was friendly even though they were busy. I so glad that we have discovered this place. We would recommend this place.

At Bianconi's there are fantastic offers on we got a free bottle of good wine because we spent over €50 between the two of us. Have the Calamari starter it's great. The Shank of Lamb is just delicious and the portions were big. We will be back!

Was pleasantly surprised by my experience. This is due to having one of the worst meals I have ever had here some time ago and vowing never to return. This time the food was very tasty and well presented. The service was friendly overall, although not very knowledgeable: when I asked what the 'baked cod' was cooked with, I was informed it was 'baked cod' and given an irritated look. The restaurant decor is a mish-mash of wanabee chic and home grown italian. It seems unfinshed in places but has a fantastic cake display case (full of pretty fantastic cakes). The front seating area is more open, suitable for coffees etc - and for prams - and the back long and narrow. We were eating early, so we endured the noise of tired and hyperactive children to the front (with mothers making no attempt made to control them) and the drunken cackles of a group of women out early further down. Apart from this and the rather tired toilets, Bianconi's has a lot to offer foodwise. We had the set menu which came with a recession busting free glass of wine - one of the smallest I have ever seen (glass) filled with some pretty awful plonk. Rather ungenerous as the menu was reasonable but not cheap. My friend had the gnocchi which were light and delicious. The gorgonzola sauce was piquant and also light. I had fried mozzarella - again light and succulent. The mains (spaghetti with clams and pork escalopes) were delicious and generous. Desserts were tiramisu and creme brulee. Yum - the creme brulee was more of a flan but delicious nonetheless. We left happy with our food (which we finished to the last crumb), pleased enough with the service which was generally friendly, disappointed with the place and ambiance and unsure as to whether you would bother to go back. Only if you were in the vicinity. Not by design I think.

I have never walked out of a restaurant until yesterday. From the service, to the wine, and quality of food, this place is a disaster, and I mean this frankly. I am horrified to even think of my experience yesterday in this so called ' Restaurant '. My girlfriend and I went here for dinner last night before a concert, it was 5.30pm, Sunday. We were sat at a table, when the waiter came over he simply said " What do you want ? " !! I asked for 2 glasses of Soave wine, this arrived, corked of course. Granted he changed this though he looked at me as if I had 2 heads! My girlfriends starter, the bruschetta was dry, bland and tasteless. I ordered a pasta and my partner a lasagne...My pasta arrived dry, tasteless, and can be at best described as rubber texture. The lasagne... honestly, Aldi make a better one for only €2 ! Worse yet, my 'parmesan' it was of course not parmesan, and was ROCK hard grated cheese as it had been left out in the air for hours on end, the entire bowl of cheese was solid ! The service was horrific, and I can assure you this waiter does not like his job one bit. I like to assume the normal chef was not there, as if this is as good as it gets here, then God help us ! Honestly, I can say from my many reviews this restaurant is Dublins worst, and I will never return here, even if my meal was free, I would not offer it to my worst enemy. Take my advice, look at the menu, smile, and keep on walking, it is not worth a moment of your time. The attitude of the staff was horrific and unforgiving. I refused to pay for my food, uneaten of course, so they charged me for a coffee !! Appalling and ludicrous behaviour. I only hope the owner takes note of this review and may care enough to clean up the act of Sundays in his restaurant as it is simply terrible. If you read this feel free to contact me as I assure you in my many years I have never been met with such bad attitudes from staff, nor been delivered such poor quality.

Bianconi's is a delightful place to eat for either lunch or dinner. For lunch they offer a scrumptious variety of ready-made lunch options if you're pressed for time, but you can order from the menu any time. Our dinner was served very hot and was absolutely delicious! Their wine list is good, but expensive. The atmosphere is warm and friendly; there are tables outside, and the inside has been recently redecorated and it's immaculately clean. The owner can usually be found visiting the tables and is quite friendly.

This restaurant is lovely on a sunny day when you can eat 'al fresco' to the front. The lunch is good, the side salad is really good value and the dressing is beautiful. It's an ideal place to have coffee and dessert also. As it is all on one level with no steps it is ideal for bringing an elderly person etc

This place attracts a faithful following of locals and it's no wonder. The staff are efficient and friendly and the food is always well presented and very good. I would also give them some brownie points for having what must be one of the best priced wine lists in dublin. Personally I am not a massive fan of lunch there but it is a great place for a coffee and cake during the day(try the lemon meringue pie!). The vibe is relaxed and cozy in the evenings and it is a great place to go if you are just not in the mood for cooking at home!

I am not familiar with the area however I was under the impression that this was a restaurant however it is in fact of a café! I booked a table for a special lunch and presumed that there would be table service, but we were told to go and look at the 'blackboard' for the menu and order at the counter on arrival, and this was very disappointing. We left because the selection of dishes was very limited therefore I cannot comment on the food. Maybe good for a casual lunch but nothing else.

Go often for lunch and can't fault it. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is great (portions are huge though particularly the salad portions so go with an appetite.) Salad options are healthy and tasty. There is something on the menu to suit most tastes. The coffee is ok. Haven't tried here for dinner yet but plan to one evening when I'm working late.

Went with a business associate, having found the restaurant through your site. We both really enjoyed the starters and both of us had the Cod for main course which we thought was delicious. The service was very friendly. I will be back.

I have to say I was surprised to read some of the reviews below, I've been here a good bit over the years and have always found the staff and managers friendly and efficient, the food is well cooked and put together, try the Calzone with chicken or the Avocado Chicken salad - both really nice and if they are doing the goat cheese special starter - generally I don't agree with goats cheese starters but this is great. The place is always spotless and the service is always efficient. The one thing that it has to it's disadvantage is it's location - it is never going to be a bustling restaurant because of where it is, so you have to expect a quiet atmosphere when you go, but then when your stuck for a restaurant to go to you are pretty much guaranteed to get in here.

I went here with my granny one lunchtime and they made us go up to the counter to order. They weren’t doing table service! For the prices they should! Ice cream is yummy and pizzas are good. Not great service tho!

Have been to this restaurant a couple of times but would not be in any hurry to go back. The owners/managers are always cross, service is bad and food is just okay

Never again!! My husband and I decided to treat our daughter and her siblings to lunch in Bianconis for her birthday one Saturday recently. I booked a table for 1.00 pm. We were seated and given the menus and while deciding the owner came to our table to inform us that all the pizzas were off the menu!! We were all disappointed, to say the least, and I suggested that we go somewhere else but the family were willing to stay. After we ordered our meals I went to speak to the owner to complain about the fact that a large portion of the menu was not available. I found him rude and unhelpful; his attitude was that there were other meals that could be ordered. When pressed about the pizzas he said that in order to reduce wastage only 10 pizza bases are prepared for lunch on a Saturday and that they had all gone. I find this incredible for a so-called Italian restaurant. After this it then took 45 mins. For the meals to arrive and my was last! To make things worse when my husband went to pay the bill instead of me being charged for the Chicken al Limone at €15.50 the manager had billed me for the Veal Milanese which is one of the most expensive items on the menu. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

I went here last Sunday - It was clean, comfortable and the food was good. I had a steak with pepper sauce and my friend had Lasagne. Portions were big. Steak was served with fried onion rings, chips and salad. Lasagne had salad and Garlic bread. I thought it was really good value for money and will go back again.

This is a great family restaurant. Food is all fresh, homemade and reasonably priced. It's one of the few places in Dublin these days where you can get two main courses and bottle of wine for under fifty notes. The menu has everything from pizza, pasta, salads and steaks. My kids love the ice cream sundaes. We like it a lot and eat here regularly.

As I work in the area, and there is a severe lack of nice restaurants for lunch around, I have been for lunch too many times here. I have never enjoyed any of their extremely overpriced food. On more than one occasion I have had problems with the staff and the rude managers (husband and wife) who run the place. It always seems that they are too busy for even a half smile and whenever there is a problem i.e. insects in customer's lettuce, 30 mins to wait for a panini, they are too busy for even an apology. I would never ever recommend this place for lunch or dinner as they don't seem to appreciate your custom or the amount you pay for 3 small salads (11.50)! Stay away.
