Ate out with my other half here as it was recommened by numerous family members and friends. The staff were welcoming and very attentive, the room is small and a little squashy but gives a very intimate and relaxed atmosphere to the place. We got the two courses for 20euro, the options were limited but more than enough to suit different taste-buds. The food was perfectly cooked and presented, we didnt have a single complaint. Nice wine although they didnt have any beers on the drinks list, which was a slight annoyance as the other half had already had two beers and would have prefered to stick to it, rather than mix the two. Only drawback was the empty plates were left on the table for so long that we just asked for the bill and left before they had begun to clear them. Would highly recommend nosh for a casual tasty night out!

dropped in for here for late lunch on a saturday(came highly recommended from a friend) and we came across the lunch menu which was served all day. we ordered chicken burger with big chips and my friend had fish and chips which he said was very fresh. the only complaint i had was the place seemed to be full of screaming kids. not the restaurants fault but its such a small room it was hard to have a conversation. i definately would return as great value and early bird menu also looks very reasonible too. water topped up the whole time we were there and nice friendly waitress.

Ate here with three friends last week and really enjoyed the food, the service was really good though slow - too slow if you're on a lunch hour.

Ate here for my mum's retirement bash and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was only a lunch spot but the food here was great! I got the chicken with mash for a main and it was top notch. Would certainly eat here again.

Met a friend a cold Wednesday night for a catch up and decided on Nosh with it's all night early bird. We both had the prawns pils-pils and then she had the fish pie and I had falafel and aubergine stack. She loved the fish pie but I was not as taken with my choice. I enviously eyed up the fish and chips arriving at the next table. We had a reasonably priced bottle of wine and coffees. We both enjoyed the night as the restaurant is a nice size for an intimate chat, it did not feel empty despite being a cold night in February and the service was good. I;ll choose the fish next time though.

The food at Nosh is well presented and of good quality. The service was pleasant but painfully slow. Price wise it is at the upper end of the scale. Nice for a treat but would'nt be rushing back.

This was my first visit to this restaurant as it was suggested by my girlfriend with whom I when and I wasn't disappointed. It was a Thurs night and it seemed the place to be for the local mums & female friends to gather as there were only 3 men and about 25 women! Once again the typical decor of these newer restaurants of wooden floors and no soft furnishings made it quite noisy and difficult enough to chat. That said, I couldn't fault it any other way. Service was polite, friendly and efficient. Food was very satisfactory, personally pleased with the calamari & fish pie but friends would recommend the fish & chips which seemed to be popular throughout the restaurant. A reasonable menu in terms of choice and value at Eur21 for 2 courses and Eur24 for 3 which is the standard locally. So Eur30 incl. wine not bad and I would revisit.

we popped in here for a quick bite last weekend while visiting a friend in dalkey, i had the fish and chips which was really good, i decided not to have the pee puree as puree's remind me of baby food ! my husband had the burger which he raved about, looking through the menu it looked a little pricey for some things but hey it is Dalkey, well worth a visit though.

Wow! The whole family (2 + 2 young kids) stopped by today for coffe and cake, we were very impressed, from the moment we stepped in the door the waitress was very friendly and accomodating, child seat produced within seconds all the grabbables cleared off the table etc... Food was devine! I had the brownie with cookies - Both devine, G had the coffe creme brulle - she wouldn't let me have any - a good sign, (E5 each) Babychino and Lattes for drinks (3,30 each). Toilets nice and clean too (always a bonus) Will be back soon for full food when we get babysitter....

Dined here a few months ago with my father and sister. The restaurant was very busy so we had to wait a while before being seated. The restaurant has a contemporay feel to it, with great decor. I ordered the fish and chips with pea. The chunky chips were fab, the fish was so fresh but I did not like the pee puree it did'nt taste great. We all agreed that we would dine here again but perhaps next time I would order somthing different from the menu.

competent place had the early bird prawns pili pile not as described on the menu -no garlic no sizzle -5 prawns of the large but bland warm water type in an inch deep chili water/soup with slivers of leek - i missed the sizzle garlic and oil-crisped prawn tails are a delight -these were more steamed than fried little amuse guele of a tomato and tuna paste starter and a dipping ramekin of herby oil -bread was just ok -very batch like white and sweet crumbly treacle brown bread -a slight improvement on the usual tooth coating soda bread elsewhere but decent sauces cry out for good plate wiping bread main course of chicken and spuds was good -tender yet crispy freshly thickly sliced chicken over crushed potatoes -ringing with 3 sauces a bit of overkill -pesto cream plus caesar salad sauce plus one of those ubiquitous zig zags of some brown stuff ! a tiny disk of pancetta set off the chicken well. a little veg. would have been nice chianti at 6.50 a glass unimpressive -more petrol than fruit dessert brownie very good swimming in a decent choc sauce with proper ice cream and a bonus homemade choc chip biscuit biscuit. charming chatty and receptive owner/manager.

Visited this restaurant for the 2nd time on Easter Sunday. It's a well spaced small restaurant so you don't feel like the next table is on top of you. It was very quiet and whilst the service was good I thought they could have been a bit more attentive given there were only 3 tables at any one time. I had the prawn starter which was nice-although a pet hate of mine is a set menu with a choice of 4 starters and one of them has a €2.50 surcharge. If you are only putting a choice of 3 things on an early bird menu is it that difficult to offer 3 things that fit in with the set menu price? I had pasta for my main which wasn't great. The linguine was more like chinese egg noodles. Dessert, chocolate brownie, was really good.

Nosh in my view is the gem of Dalkey, Such a beautiful, spotless, cozy restaurant! The atmosphere is relaxing and the food is delish, Fresh breads with a selection of dips to acompany on arrival, Nice set out menu (My personal favourite Fish + Chips is a must try), I urge anyone with taste to try it out for themselves.

Nosh is my favourite restaurant in Dalkey. Good food and service and it usually has a good atmosphere. The winelist is a little disapointing but wouldn't put me off. Also, their breads are really good.

Went here on girls night out, we all had the early bird which is good value. starter of prawns was delicious but bread to mop up some of that sauce would have been lovely. main of fish and chips came with big chunky chips and was well presented. Dessert of lemon tart was disappointing - sickly lemon curd taste. everyone else ordered the brownies which were a big hit. Service was slow and lacking. menu expensive for what it is if you're not geoing for the early bird. brunch menu well over priced.

went here for brunch, the service and the wine were fantastic and the food was ok but not great. I had the steak sandwich which came with mozerella on white bread and chips and all that white carby stuff ended up being a nit bland, but the steak itself was very good and tender. The eggs benedict looked very good. The cheese platter was very good for the price but the sticky toffee pudding wasn't great (didn't finish it which rarely happens).

This was my first visit to Nosh and availed of the Early Bird Menu, both myself and guest had the Fish & Chips, followed by the Brownie, it was fantastic value (only €21 each). Its quite small and cosy but overall a very pleasant little restaurant.

Early bird on a Saturday night - Fantastic. €21 for two courses and €24 for three courses. Went to Nosh on Saturday eve. for a birthday celebration. Everyone enjoyed it and must say the service as always is great! Between the 5 of us, ordered a bit of everything off the menu and everyone was happy and full at the end of it. Great service as always! The only thing I'll say is that have been there a few times and they need to change or update from time to time. Would reccommend...

I went here a few weeks ago for the first time in months and was delighted to see that it remains consistent in food and service quality. The latest great deal is that the early bird menu is now served all night, 2 courses for €21. The chicken with chorizo sauce on risotto was rich in flavour but not overpowering. The chocolate brownie dessert was a little taste of chocolate heaven.

I recently went back to Nosh and was very relieved to see that my previous visit-of almost a year ago to the date- was not a once off experience. We were a party of two and my friend started with the Brie, which was perfectly cooked and tasty and I had the special of the rare beef salad. The meet, though slightly more well cooked then I would have liked was flavoursome, well seasoned and melt in you mouth tender. For the main I had the fish and chips, again, and my friend had the fish pie. Both were generous portions and incredibly tasty. My only gripe would be that the chunky chips were somewhat burned on the outside and still hard inside, slightly. For chips this size, the chef really needs to consider par-boiling them first and I doubt that's happening. A couple of coffee's later and we were a well satisfied party. With two cokes the bill was just under 60euro and well worth every penny.

Two of us visited Nosh for a long lazy lunch and had a lovely relaxed time. I had the fish and chips, the fish was perfect, tasty batter not to greasy and lovely flakey cod. The chips were slightly overcooked but still tasted good. Followed this with a heavenly banoffi pie which had the nicest toffee I've ever had on a banoffi. Waitress was very nice and the dining room is basic but very comfy and welcoming. I will definately return

Great Great Restaurant! I went here on Friday night with 3 friends. We had the 9pm sitting, from the moment we arrived the restaurant was Buzzing and very busy not a free table in the place! We were seated straight away and the service was fantastic! The Prawns to start were to die for! Great little spot in Dalkey for casual Meal and very good value for money! Would go again!

Cant recommend this restaurant highly enough! I have been to NOSH twice. It is excellent in every aspect, food, service, atmosphere etc. Try the tomato bread, and also the fish and chips. The brownie desert is gorgeous. Book in advance as it is usually full in the evenings. Its not cheap, so go for the early bird if possible

We regularly come to Nosh as we live in Dalkey. Its a really lovely local restaurant to have. I really recommend the early bird menu for value at €21 for 2 courses. The food is always fresh and well-presented. A particular favourite is the Fish & Chips. Generally all of their fish dishes are beautiful. Nosh is well worth a visit.

I was taken here to have Sunday lunch recently and must admit it was the most enjoyable Sunday lunch I have had in quite a while. Inside is small but stylish and the decor is appropriately contemporary. This contributes to Nosh having a very 'light and airy' feel which compliments the dishes on offer perfectly. I found the food to be very fresh and well prepared. The menu offers a rather interesting take on typical Irish style cuisine and any of the Chef's unique 'twists' thankfully still remained appealing. Personally, I thought the lunch dishes were a bit small in portions for their price but it is clear the cost has clearly gone into the quality of the ingredients. For sweet tooths everywhere a special note should be given to the Cookie, Brownie and Ice Cream Desert which, as previous reviewers have mentioned, is to DIE FOR and well recommended if you have any space left after your main meal. Throughout our meal the staff were attentive and on hand to cater for any of our needs without any of the usual restaurant quibbles. An extra kudos to the staff as the service was also carried out with a smile which is always a welcome touch in our sometimes not so friendly wold of restaurant staff. Overall, Nosh is a refreshingly modern restaurant in a great location and I would highly recommend dropping in if you were looking for a bite to eat in the area.

This is my local feeding hole. Noshman visits Nosh...am I now twinned with the place? Sort of like those stupid signs the local councils put up to proudly announce their obscure sleepy town is twinned with some other equally awful town in Bulgaria or Moldova. Shows how little the staff have to do in councils? Anyway back to Dalkey.....Nice cosy place expertly watched over by the lovely sisters Sam and Sasha.I have never had a bad meal here and I have had a good few. Always a warm greeting and always a buzz about the place Oops, I confess! Twice I phoned for the early bird, arrived in time and twice I was shown the main menu. Once the girl even told me it was finished. No it's not says I .....I have 15 minutes left. Then she got grumpy. Tut tut.....not good. But this was a mere blip and I am a nice guy. The grub is different, but a nice different....not an odd different.Bit of something from here something from there. Prawns to start. Fish and chips are really ace. Properly cooked fish with big chunky chips and the essential mushy peas. Steaks by all accounts are good...I shy away from these here having been spoiled rotton with superb beef in Montana and Wyoming while roaring through here on my motorbike scaring women and children and the odd cow. These are cattle states and the boys here know their beef. Wow betide any hotel or restaurant that serves anything not superb. Back to Dalkey again! Burger is tops but why o why can I not have it cooked the way I want it...medium rare? Yes, I WILL sign the disclaimer...no really, I will. Even in the land of the law suit specialist (are we far behind?) I can have it moist and pink and never has a bad tum. Time to dump this absurd notion that I have to have it medium to well done....in other words dry and grey. YUK! Spare me. The restaurant is lovely and bright.....but be warned.....bit tight the tables so keep it down! No local gossip! Nice place run really well by professionals.

Ate here with a few friends about two weeks ago based on reviews. Food was v good but not cheap. Early bird looked like good value though. So if its your first time try the early bird first rather than paying full price if you can. p.s. make sure you go for a drink in the Sorrento Lounge around the corner before or after you meal. A lovely old style pub.

Have eaten in this restaurant before but had the early bird last Friday for the first time and found it good value. 2 courses for €21 or 3 for €24. Good selection from main menu available. Had the leek and Gruyere Tart and the stuffed chicken which were perfectly satisfactory. Maybe we should've ordered a side order as felt the dish could've done with something else. Boyf had the prawns and fish pie. Felt that I got the better selection. One thing I thought was that the portion sizes were smaller than when we have eaten off the main menu. Had the chocolate brownie with ice-cream and chocolate chip cookie which was delicious. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Dalkey! Oh and a special comment for the service. Always excellent, great waitresses!

Have been here a couple of times recently. Each time I have met a few friends and we have gone for the early bird which is great value and they serve it up to 7.45. Food as usual was excellent and we all enjoyed our various choices. I think between us we have tried most things on the menu and can't say a bad word about anything.

Great Value for Early Bird Dinner- 6.30 until 7.45, €21 for 2 courses and €24 for 3, I can't say enough about Nosh's Early Bird, they've hit it spot on. Starters include Caesar Salald, soup, prawns; Mains- fish and chips, burger, chicken dish. My mum loves the fish pie which is on the early bird too. And for dessert yummy brownie with choc sauce, creme brulee and a few others. It's great value for good service and equally good food, I was here at about 7pm on a Wednesday evening and it was not packed but busy. I wasn't too mad on the place when it opened a few years ago but in the past year or two I've eaten here mid week several times and have enjoyed every visit.

Went for lunch on Tuesday. Fish cakes to die for. Caesar salad was below average, ditto the green beans (limpy) but the rest was perfect. Place was clean & the tall waitress attentive and pleasant. Overall very good value for money, for the quality on offer.

I've been here a few times now and will continue. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bright lively atmosphere. And above all, excellent food. Don't expect huge portions and low prices but what you will get, I thought was enough and the quality is top drawer. You're advised to book in advance, this place is very popular.

Small restaurant with a good atmosphere and friendly/capable staff. Not a huge range of dishes on the menu, particularly for starters, but we still had trouble deciding which main to have. Our mains were delicious (fish & chips, fillet steak with a blue cheese crust & pepper sauce). Dark chocolate tart was disappointing though - didn't finish it, which is practically unheard of! Nothing wrong with the creme bruleé though. Would definitely go back again if I was in the area.

For us the 10 mile drive is well worth it. Still one of the best in Dublin! Prawns Pil Pil to start followed by the Linguini or the fish & chips. Great attentive staff who give you time and space to enjoy.

Had a lovely early bird meal in Nosh and it is good value for money. I found the staff to be very nice and the food was lovely and of a very high standard. I think it is quite expensive for a regular meal but I would definitely go back for the early bird.

Best Brunch in Dublin. There isn't a sunday morning that I crave nosh's melt-in-your-mouth buttermilk pancakes. I hear the eggs benedict and fry are great too. For dinner, this place can be a bit overpriced but the food is always good.

I wasnt overly impressed with Nosh when I visited. I was expecting really good things since it was listed in Dubliner's 100 best restaurant guide last year but it was just average. I felt that the decor was nice and modern, the service was very good but the food wasnt that great. The portions were very small and even after a starter and main course i was still a bit hungry. It's quite expensive for what you get, main courses are €20+. Not a great meal.

Had brunch here on Saturday morning. My partner and I went to Dalkey for something to eat and a walk. I was surprised at how empty Nosh was but I suppose people were broke after Christmas and New Years. The Food was really nice, I have the breakfast and my partner had the eggs benedict. Both were very nice nad the bread was very tast as well. Well worth a visit.

A favorite for our sunday brunches, food is just delicious, decor a little pretentious . The bread basket is divine great brown bread and tomato and they usually have something else. Try

Perfect for ladies who lunch! Food great, I had pasta. Great attentive staff. Great spot to soothe Saturday night's hangover. The only downpoint is that it's a little pricey and it's so small it can be hard to get a table.

From the start they offer you bread, which is divine. The service is excellent, the girls are very polite and nice. I had a steak sandwich, very nice. The only thing that is a small place.

Had brunch here a few weeks ago on a sunday morning with my boyfriend. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Staff are very friendly. Food was great. Really recommend the pancakes with grilled bananas. Gorgeous. I shared this with my boyfriend as we had both ordered the cooked breakfast. Would definitely get my own portion next time. Quite pricey for breakfast but a nice treat. Looking forward to trying it out for dinner. The chunky chips look great.

I went to Nosh for the second sitting on a Saturday night. It’s quite a crammed little restaurant and very noisy. Our service for the starter was ok but for main course very slow. It’s on the expensive side with main courses averaging €22-24, but what I didn’t like was the extra charge of €4.50 for veg. This is a rip off and I don’t like restaurants that do this. The food quality was excellent though.

Nosh is a nice place to go for a girlie lunch. Good food, nice atmosphere and relatively decent prices. Delicious desserts!!! However it is quite small so not a good idea for big groups!

Have eaten here on two occasions and will go back there again. A lovely little restaurant for a mid-week lunch. The food was really good, as was the service and the place buzzed with the chatter of happy, satisfied diners. Not cheap, by any means, but well worth a visit.

Was in for Sat brunch and have to say was a little disappointed! Food wasn't as good as I remember - I had the fish and chips and they were quite oily and a friend had the pancakes, which didn't look overly appetising. Service was ok but waitress kept kicking my friend’s chair every time she came near the table.

Had a lovely meal here recently. Buzzy atmosphere although not packed for a Thursday evening. Service a little abrupt, but prompt and food very good. Dalkey is a great place to be, so a few drinks in a nice pub afterwards made for a very pleasant evening.

An excellent restaurant, if a little pricey. Prawn pils pils starter was great. A really imaginative vegetarian main course (albeit the only choice for vegetarians..) was also top-notch. The decor wasn't to my personal taste - I prefer more cosy than clinical. The Early bird is great value for money at €23 for 3 courses.

Went for Saturday brunch, nicest brown (treacle) bread I've ever had. Good Fish pie, but dessert (which was the special) of White Chocolate & Mint Tart was not awful. The place was nearly deserted, but this might well have been because Ireland were playing England in the 6 Nations' Rugby.

Nosh is one of the finest places on the south-east coast for brunch. The restaurant itself is bright and airy, situated in the middle of Dalkey and a short distance from the sea for a post-prandial walk. Offering a traditional (and delicios)Nosh Brunch, featuring all the old favourites - sausages, bacon, toast etc... as well as prawn piri piri, pasta, amazing desserts and home made lemonade, Nosh is to be highly recommended. It is possibly a little on the expensive side for brunch, but given the high quality of the food, the friendly nature of the service and the chilled atmosphere, it's totally worth it!
