Definitely Still in my Top Ten in the Country. IN is still superb after in whole dalkey, great for family meals. I go at least once a month and never fail to enjoy the food and busyness of the place. I've had most of the menu but would always recommend the tiger prawn pasta- my favourite. Great wines too.

Eating lunch here on Saturday was a complete disappointment - The place was dirty, tables were sticky, service was poor and we had to wait 50 minutes for a medium cooked burger & scrambled eggs!! Maybe we got them on a bad day, but I'll never be going back...

Veg noodle stir fry with chicken and lychees is superb! Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, great location. deep fried brie is delicious. Salads are yummy. And the penne carbonara, very different. Very tasty. :)

Met a friend here for a light lunch and we both had the goats cheese starter, it looks like a spring roll, instead of 3 lumps of deep fried cheese covered in breadcrumbs, it comes with quite a small bit of salad and a few peppered strawberris, but it is very tasty as a starter. The staff were very friendly and the place is very comfortable and atmosphere is lovely. Will go back for sure

Great! Got of the dart starving with the hunger walked for 2 minutes and stumbled across IN. We had brunch here on Sunday over the glorious bank holiday weekend. We dined alfresco and had an amazing meal washed down by nicely chilled pinot grigio. This bar serves fantastic food at very good prices. Service was attentive with nice friendly staff. Definetly a worth while dart trip to Dalkey!

Finally, someone got it right. Was out for the day and having just moved to the area and having been let down elsewhere gave this place a go. Nice kids menu, catering for the picky and the more adventurous. Penne carbonara for my young lad and i went for the steak burger. Creamy Mash and spinach and a really well flavoured burger (I asked for the recipe). We were both nearly licking our plates when we finished so we went for the lemon meringue pie between us - what a treat! The staff were attentive even though they were clearly busy and there was a nice, comfortable, friendly feel to the place. It has been declared my sons new favourite, the crayons and drawing paper a clincher i think. All in all a lovely place which i plan to frequent, got to sample more of that menu!

Had dinner here on saturday night with my friends from Dalkey. We had excellent cocktails to start and a really tasty rioja with our meal (actually 2 really tasty bottles with our meal!)I had tiger prawns in pasta, both my friends had the IN Steak burger. The food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was great! I will definetly be back there as soon as I can.

I live near to this bar so I often get the chance to eat and have a few pints there. I always enjoy the food, menu changes enough to keep you interested and the service is spot on. There is always a good buzz here especially at the weekends.

I have been to the IN on a number of occassions and have to say I really like it. Nice cocktail and wine menu's and the food is great. For me the steaks are tops, my favourite being the fillet (try the pepper sauce). I tried the surf and turf on my last visit, quality steak and big tiger prawns in what i can only describe as a magical sauce. I sat in the relaxed bar area, big comfy couch with a nice view of the main street. Service was friendly and personal and when i asked for a wine recommendation the waiters choice of rioja was spot on. Menu is varied enough to cater for most tastes yes, even vegetarians. Good value and relaxed atmosphere, keep up the good work and i'll be back again.

Have been here a few times for lunch and it's really not great. It smells bad at the tables by the window. And the food's just not up to much. Had Bangers & Mash on an occasion and they obviously were re-heated but not very well as there was a thick wedge of lard inside the skin all along the bottom, it made me gag. Also the fish arrived out burnt and the batter is insanely hard. The service is so slow you can't be bothered sending the food back but it's just a waste of money.

Have been a regular in IN since it opened. After last night's experience, I may never be back. We shared a fish tapas (which is on the menu as a dish for 2). It was lucky that one of us had lunched out and wasn't hungry - the portion was definitely on the small side. It was one of the worst meals I have ever experienced in a restaurant in Dublin. The food was oily and lukewarm - one of the pieces of the fish of the day was completely inedible; the batter on the squid was soggy. I could go on. Very sad to see a good venue deteriorate as IN definitely has.

Dalkey is one of my favourite places for brunch at the weekend and we often go to the In. The atmosphere is always buzzing and you can lounge around for a while. The menu is good though the food quality can vary. The service is almost hilariously bad. Waitresses can be very feather-headed, forgetting to bring menus, collect dishes. The food can be very slow in coming -the last time we went, our food (a salad and an eggs dish) took an hour, and then the bacon was very under cooked. But it is still worth visiting for the overall experience - and the smoothies are great.

Mmm... overall just not good. Went on a Sunday, service was harried. Just 2 staff on the floor. A pleasant & helpful waitress & a raggedy dirty-apron wearing waiter. We had good soup & McCambridges brown bread, but after that we had 2 huge plates of grease. Went for the Fish Plate for 2. Deep fried cod (maybe? they looked so burnt & bad. And the fact we had to wrap a napkin around the each piece to squeeze the grease out we decided against even trying to eat it... so Cod is a guess), deep fried burnt prawns in filo pastry, a bland crab mess on a half buttered slice of brown bread, 2 whisps of smoked salmon & some prawns marie rose (did they come out of a tub?). The only redeeming feature was the cooked potted tiger prawns, even if too heavy handed with the cream. How could this justify €28 I just don't know. It was completely unedible. Has any chef / manager tried tasting the food before it leaves the kitchen? It's obviously a small kitchen but guys come on, you can do better than that. There are other methods of cooking besides deep frying. Be creative. The bar itself is very tatty & needs a huge amount of TLC. If it weren't for our waitress I wouldn't even be giving 1 star. Management needs to buck up & take more care of their business. We won't be back.

Came here about two weeks ago with four friends. I had been once already and I remembered it being average. We all had different dishes- beef sandwich, chicken burger, fish and chips, noodles, soup. We were all quite dissatisfied with our meals from being very small portions to simply not tasting that great. The service was pretty bad and had us waiting a long time. Hoping desserts would fill us up and let us leave with some optimism, didn't do the job. Overpriced for what you get.

All in all this place had a bit of a forgetful vibe to it. The food was average, it was over priced and the service was nothing special. Portions were pretty small and my pet hate - the drinks(soft drinks) were as flat as anything. The scenery of Dalkey had brought us to the place but by all means I wont be returning anytime soon.

I've been here occasionally for dinner and I've found the food quite good and the prices reasonable.Staff turnover is high and unfortunately waiting staff are inconsistent in their moods, sometimes charming and helpful but othertimes gruff and slow. I will go again. The Pro's outweigh the Con's.

I have eaten here for lunch and dinner and there is no great variation in the menu's for either sitting apart from the price. I agree that the service is poor and the atmosphere is a little dull. If they changed the Menu every six months this would attract more people, they also need more lounge staff.

I've eaten there a few times now including upstairs at a private birthday party and have mixed feelings. On one occasion I had a Lasagne that was barely edible, dry, not seasoned, not enough herbs and at other times I have been very happy with the food. The service can be a bit slow and the staff a bit too casual about things. On its day it is very good but the key word here is inconsistency.

I visited the IN after a friend of mine recommended it. We went for brunch on Saturday afternoon after walking around Killieny. We had a wonderful tasty meal the menu is really different from other places, I had Chicken Paillard Burger and my husband had the steak sandwich, both were amazing, the prices are fairly priced for nice portions. An excellent wine list to match....

I have eaten at IN a few times overall I think they have it spot on. We thought the food was very tasty and prices were ok. Definitely worth a visit. Ultimately it’s probably the best pub food you are likely to get anywhere.

Went here for lunch one Sunday and it started of really nice, the interior is lovely and the menu looked really nice but then we ordered and after a really long wait got our food - it wasn't full - the food was bland, not fresh and not what I had expected. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but would not be rushing back!!

I have dined in the In for lunch and dinner probably about two dozen times at this stage. I must confess only occasionally have I found the service slow and the food has always made up for it. While slightly more expensive that I would normally want to spend on a lunch, the food is always of a consistently high quality, whether it's just the soups, the cod and chips, the pasta dish or their bison burger (though I fear from my recall that the latter dish has now been removed). Dinner-wise, the 3-course special is very good value. They have live music on Friday, Saturday and Sundays, helping the atmosphere and drawing in the crowds. The "restaurant" section of the pub is not that isolated from the "pub" bit, which, for me, is no big problem. You can also be served food in the comfy seats in the "pub" section rather than on the rather hard stools in the "restaurant", though eating off a sofa can be off-putting for certain people. Quite a small area so booking is advised on the busier nights.

I have eaten in IN a few times mostly in the evenings either with my fella or girlfriends and always really enjoyed it! The food is well presented, tastes great and is of really good value- 3 courses for between €20-€25! (I can never remember how much). The waiting and bar staff are very friendly and polite. This place can get really busy and I have never had a problem getting attention from any staff, though I might be a little more relaxed than the other clientele I have witnessed in this place! I like to come here early evening, grab a comfy sofa, relax, unwind and watch the world go by, bliss!

Service is appalling and down right rude! Chose our lunch and eventually managed to catch the waitress' eye only to be told they had the wrong menus on the tables. Chose the soup which was too salty to eat when it arrived and was accompanied by stale bread. Unfortunately we couldn't even catch the waitress to complain so had to go to the bar where the barman told us there was "nothing wrong with it". He conceded and didn't charge us for the meal. However I will not be going back!

Don't bother! The wait for service was a disgrace, we weren't even kept occupied with drinks and had to chase down table service for drinks. It was a 'Fawlty Towers' experience all round, when eventually served by a waitress, she declared that we were better off than her last customers whom she had split a pint over! When the food did arrive the steaks were over cooked and my fish although tasty was dry. This place is really a pub doing food but charging restaurant prices, they either had an off night or are completely out of their depth!
