Ate here twice last week it was so nice. Head by the shop on my way home from work every day and only started going in recently, seriously worth the few extra quid to get such high calibre food. I love spicy food so I got the Chu Chee with Duck as recommended by the staff their which is the hottest one on offer. Have to honestly say I haven't had a nicer curry anywhere else before, so much flavour and decent mix of veg to go with the duck which is a novelty in itself compared to my usual choices with chinese take-aways or pizza! Plan on going here a lot more its been a pleasure to shop there everytime

I went in here last Saturday at peak time, the shop was packed. Service took a bit longer than usual but considering the volume of orders it was still very reasonable. I ordered a couple of curries and their drunkards noodles which were particularly nice. I eat quite a bit of Asian food both in restaurants and take-outs and this is easily top three out of all of them I've had.

Have been here a few times now and am always impressed again. Had the "Tom Kha Gai" Soup now more than five times and it is always very impressive. Very tasty and coconutty. I tried a few other dishes which were always freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. Atmosphere is take-away-like but clean and comfortable. Service is very friendly and prices are not too cheap for a take-away but considering the high standard and the portion size absolutely OK.

There are few restaurants which offer main courses of this quality, let alone take-away restaurants. The ingredients are well cooked, using quality ingredients, fresh veg - yes veg such as green beans, squash and courgette - not the usual carrot and onion pairing that most 'authentic' thai establishments offer. Overall, Id be hard pushed to recommend a better takeaway in Dublin - if it exists, Id love to try it! High point - Panang Curry with a dual portion of fresh prawns & steamed rice. Low point - some of the starters are dainty and seem overpriced vs the mains.

I live just down the road and knew about this place for quite awhile from friends recommendations, finally stopped in during the week. Chose the beef pad manao as that was what a couple of my friends swear by, did not regret it at all. Worth every penny to get such high quality food so quickly, a real mix of flavours. Now I know what all the fuss is about! Great take out!

I've been going to this hidden gem for the last month or so and I've got happily surprise every time I come in.The place is always clean and tidy, the staff is super friendly and helpful with any question you can have. I like to order something different every time I go and they always please me. The food is quick, healthy and full of flavours, they also have daily specials food suitable for coeliacs and low carb diets :)

I would eat here everyday if I could! The food is really delicious and (depending on what you choose) pretty healthy. It's great to have a lot of vegetarian options. Their vegetable and tofu thai red curry is so good that I have struggled to try anything else on the menu, despite being there many times. However I'm assured that other noodle and curry dishes are just as good.

Ate here on a good few occasions over the last few months and have been very impressed. Tried lots of different dishes and all were of a high standard although my favorite would have to be the pad thai. Its so tasty and portions are very generous, great for sharing lots of dishes among friends or even keeping some in the fridge for later!

Eat here a lot for lunch or get a take-away on my way home. The food is the best in town if you like thai. I love the duck dishes they have and it's never dry. But the staff are really nice always cracking a joke. My order is always spot on, nothing missing. one of the best places on the baggot st strip.

I have to give Kanum at the Mespil Market full marks. I look forward to my weekly trip and although I've tried everything on the menu the veg pad thai is my favourite. The staff are really friendly and have a good relationship with their customers. Great value for money. I highly recommend

I went to the market stall today which Kanum Thai have located at Sandyford luas stop . I ordered a takeway thai chicken curry but was disappointed by the portion size . I was given lots of rice and thai curry sauce but only a small amount of chicken and for a price of €8 I thought this was bad value and I would not be inclined to visit this market stall again

Visit here regularly - for lunch during work, or else get takeaway at the weekends. Food has always been top notch, and service is friendly and efficient. Have recommended it to friends and colleagues and everyone has agreed how good it is. Excellent Thai food at a very reasonable price. Particularly good value are the daily deals - 9.99 for a main, boiled or fried rice, plus a bottle of water. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Sometimes the food in Kanum can be variable, but when it's on it's on! The massaman curry is very homely and comforting and the green curry is simply delicious! I quite like sitting in for a quick, informal bite from time to time but mostly just pick up and bring it home. I grabbed a massaman and phad thai on Saturday and am happy to report that it was on top form. Great food, great value!

I'm a big fan of this Thai. I've only ever had takeaways to eat at home, but they do have an area to eat in. Food is always exceptional, and you can tell it is made fresh as they can make adjustments to the dishes (important point as chilli doesn't always go down well in our house!). They usually have special offers advertised that are worth checking out (recently 2 main courses and a bottle of house wine for 30 euros, either takeaway or eatin - can't argue with that). As long as I live near Kanum, I'll be a regular customer.

Got a takeaway from here last night, the qulity of food is amazing, the portions are very big, and the starters are so reasonably priced it would be rude not too. The service is so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this thai restaurant wouldn't be a nice setting for a sit-down meal. although there is a seating area, which is very small, it really is set up more as a takeaway

I work close by to this place, and my colleagues and I have been regular visitors for the past few months. The place is fantastic, even the pre-cooked lunch food is much better than average. The choices off the full menu are cooked in front of you, and it is a pretty good take on what is available in Thailand. Normally get them to up the "spice" factor, and they oblige. A little gem of a place.

Tight, bustling little place that smacks of good food and friendly service. The Thai food is as good if not better than other, better known joints in the area and the service is way better. I asked for the server to 'throw in' some prawn crackers after I'd ordered - meaning 'throw in' as in 'I'll also take some...' but she threw them in for free. It's those little details that help you leave remembering a place. Great stuff.

I have been going to Kanum Thai for months. It has become a saturday night ritual for my wife and I. The food is absolutely delicious and is great value for the money. The green curry is my personal favorite and the pad thai is the best we have had in Ireland. I took a few points off for food and value because lately we have noticed the portion sizes are getting a bit skimpier. Even a pint of white rice seems to rarely be full anymore. The consistency of the cooking has been a bit off lately as well. We have ordered the same dish two weeks in a row and it has been very different. Dont let my negatives put you off though. They are minor gripes. Kanum is absolutely fantastic and I predict if you give it a try, you will go back more than once.

Response:
Thank you for your review and custom. We have changed the box that our rice comes in lately to a branded box but i can assure you we are not cutting down our portion sizes, both boxes are 16oz when full. I apologise that you received a rice that wasn't full, this should not have happened. Again thank you for your custom and hopefully we will see you in kanum again!

i have driven by kanum on many occassions and have always noticed a good flow of people eating there so i thought i would try it for myself, i went there today for lunch, now i know why there are always people there when i drive past, the service was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. the staff were very helpfull as it was my first time trying thai food and they pointed me in the right direction when i told them my likes and dislikes, the food is healthy and delicious and cooked to perfection and i have no hesitation in giving kanum a huge thumbs up as it was very easy on the pocket quality food and excellent service, try it for yourself and you will walk away thouroughly satisfied.

I ordered a delivery take away from here while working late. I was impressed to see larp on their menu which are warm Thai salads on their menu and Vietnamese starters. I ordered the warm chicken salad (larp gai), the vietnamese pork balls and the savoury rice. The chicken salad was lovely. Spicy and full of flavour with fresh herbs. Better than in Siam Thai and Diep Le Shaker. The vietnamese pork balls were ok. A tad dry but there was an authentic vietnamese flavour. The savoury rice was a bit clumpy and too greasy when it arrived. The service was good. I paid over the phone with my credit card and the food was delivered to me within 20 min. I would go back to this place again as the food offered and the selection is better than other Thai takeaways.

Seems everyone is in agreement pretty much about this place! Ive been going at least once a week since they opened. I get lunch from here and usually opt for the soups. The salads are excellent tho the Thai dressing can be very salty. The starters are great . Even staples like Spring Rolls and FIshcakes are really well made. Lots of fresh herbs and good stock goes into their cooking. You can tell speaking to the staff at this family run venture that they know and care about the food and (refreshingly) the customer. Kanum is probably the best Thai available in Dublin, the service is good though the telephone service at lunchtimes can be a bit slow. I would eat more of their food if they delivered at lunch time. I hear they might be opening more branches soon.. hope they come to North Wicklow! In short, thoroughly recommended!

For me, this is the best Thai takeaway around! I've ordered food from Kanum since it opened in August last year and I have yet to be disappointed with any dish. Their service is fast and efficient delivery coupled with so very tasty food is a winning combination for me. It is on the expensive side of the take away scale, but I tend to think of it as good food fast, rather than fast food. An aside note, their customer service is excellant and the staff and warm and friendly. Definitely my weekly indulgence. Recommendations are the Pad Krapow, Bu Cha, and the Green curry along with the Tom Yam soup.

Have only ever eaten takeaway from here, and it is usually very good. The staff are very pleasant on the phone and it always arrives in decent time. However, it is quite expensive for a take away, and I have found that their green curry is pretty hit and miss for the amount of chicken included. Several times I have only found 2 tablespoons in the entire dish!! Add more meat!!!

Unless you have some sort of an obsession with lemongrass its probably best that you don't try this place out. I couldn't eat my salad for all the lemongrass (I found the parts of 5 whole pieces!) I wanted lunch, not Potpourri!

Factastic! Ordered for collection and was very impressed with the quality of food and service. Staff are super friendly. Pad Thai was delicious, came with a slice of lime which not a lot of takeaways provide. Green curry was very fragrant. Excellent quality and very reasonable prices. It is not intended as a dine in restaurant, but the seating would be adequate for a quick bite.

In summary, except for one little thing this would have got my first 5 out of 5. Food is just fab. The chef is a real asst to the palce. Top marks and well done. Menu, eco friendliness, selection, staff attitude all top notch. Well done all. Price / value for what you get top markets. Only tiny gripe is that open doors when we ate there made the place cold and the stools made my rear numb in 10 mins. However if I lived closer I would eat here often enough to put on a lot of padding and it wouldn't be a problem. Great stuff and a great addition!!

Fantastic food and great value. We had beef Pad Prik and another wok duck dish which both came with steamed rice and were seriously delicious! The side of noodles is full of flavour with stir-fried veg, and at €2.50 is great value. We also tried the cashew nuts in chilli which were nice. Very quick over the counter service in the casual eating area. We ended up taking some home with us. All for under €30. I'll certainly be back.

I've been meaning to try this little spot since it opened in July. Got there today! Had the Chicken Curry with spicy green coconut milk, flavoured with red chili and fresh basil. I was asked if I wanted mild, medium or hot - and I gave the hot version a try. Really hot and really nice while you're eating it, but doesn't leave you roasted for ages after. Very tasty, loads and loads of chicken chunks and a really big portion. Very good value. I'll definately be paying a repeat visit. Great service too!

Kanum is a very welcome addition to the growing number of good places to eat in the Upper Baggot St/Haddington Road area. We just had their Sunday Dinner Special, which involved excellent soup with oodles of fresh coriander, chili and lemongrass. We then shared a portion of prawn tails with sweet chili sauce, these were tasty and the light pastry wrapping was crispy and fresh. Our main course was a wok cooked prawn dish with steamed rice. Once again, a perfect blend of spice and freshness. A bargain at 15 euro. Kanum is deservedly busy, and service is friendly & efficient; we'll be back.

Recently, a number of us called in to Kanum and had a great meal. Despite being a finger food and noddle bar it has the quality food of a Thai restaurant. The staff are very friendly. I had the Pad Prik Haeng with prawns which was delicious….lots of prawns and full of authentic flavour. You can tell it is a tight ship with native Thai chefs running the show. Despite being Thai they do serve chips which are great (apparently, I did not get any myself). I did ask where the meat was sourced and it is all Irish…great to see them supporting Irish industry. We will definitely be back and hope to get an order in to work as I believe they do great finger food platters. Take out or eat in, a great experience and well recommended.

We visited the new Kanum Thai & Noodle bar after work for a quick bite to eat. The food was really excellent and very good value for money. The Massaman curry was to die for and the steam rice was perfectly done. There was also a good buzz around with constant stream of customers. We ate on the premise but its also perfect for take away too. We will definitely be back.

Visited the restaurant today for the third time in 2 weeks. Each time the food is excellent and the staff very friendly. Today, for lunch, I had the Chicken Noodle Soup which was 5.50 and came in what can only be described as a bucket which contained a lot of tender pieces of chicken breast, lots of vegetable and ribbonlike rice noodles. I took it back to the office and it took me a good 20 mins to eat and drink it! My friend chose a salad dish, called Larp Gai (i think) minced chicken with mint, fresh coriander together with some other spices mixed with rice, we also shared the house spring rolls (4) with a sweet chili dip. They too were delish! All in all great grub at a very good price. Only thing which I missed was some green tea but perhaps I missed it on the menu. I will have to look during the week. Oh... btw... no MSG or other nasty stuff, very clean tastes.
