Heared about the new management so we went there for Vday. We had home made spaghetti with fresh seafoods and it was simply super. Everything is home made even their bread. Excellent Pinot Griggio and amazing staff. It happened that the new managers are from Naples and their cuisine is amazing. The best italian resto in town.

This was lovely. We used a Livingsocial voucher and it was probably the best value we have got to date. It's a cosy little spot and the service was cheerful as well as being very timely (not rushed but not kept waiting unduly). The starters were delicious and my wife's lasagne was one of her best ever (with possible exception of the one she makes herself which I can vouch for). I'm afraid I couldn't resist the steak and it was great. It was done just as I had asked and the mushroom laced pepper sauce was just right. The house wine was very acceptable. We asked for a doggie bag for the Lasangne and the remains of our very large spinach side. Our only mistake was to go for a previously unheard of Italian dessert which turned out to be mini doughnuts without the hole. Downside of the night was a shortage of atmosphere as the restaurant was far from full. We will be back again shortly.

We ordered from Peppe restaurant's take-away menu Saturday night and they were HORRIBLE to us. I called up and ordered one Calzone Prosciutto for my boyfriend and a modified pizza for myself as I'm a vegetarian and didn't fancy either of the 2 veggie pizzas on their menu.
The pizzas arrived and one was the calzone I had ordered for my boyfriend. The other had some kind of ham on it. Not at all what I ordered. I called back and politely explained that they sent the wrong pizza and was told this is what I ordered. I explained the calzone had ham on it, which was fine, it was supposed to(turned out half of it was just cheesy bread with no sauce or toppings). The other one was supposed to be a modified veggie pizza, which it was not. The girl didn't seem to know what was going on but after about five minutes she agreed to send the proper pizza to do a swap.
Five minutes later I get a call back from the restaurant, a different girl this time. I thought she was just calling to apologise for the mix up. But she was immediatly aggressive. She started accusing me of lying saying I had ordered it with meat. I told her the girl on the phone before got it wrong and explained the order yet again. For the next 10 minutes she argued with me. Told me if there was even one bite out of it they would not exchange it. Demanded to know why, if I was a vegetarian, did I order the pizza with ham on it (FOR MY BOYFRIEND). When I explained we had spent a lot of money eating in at their restaurant she actually told me she didn’t care and continued. By the time I passed the phone to my boyfriend she was shouting at me. He eventually convinced her to send the correct pizza.
These people could not admit their mistake, let alone apologise for it. They were abusive on the phone and it was very frustrating and insulting. They do not appreciate their customers. The bill was almost €30 for two 9inch pizzas + delivery + abuse. Not happy. I will actively discourage people from eating here in future.

Not impressed unfortunately as I thought it would be nice and authentic. The waitress was lovely but the chef was not willing to compromise to a slight cooking request on a dish which was disheartening. I had a truffle bruschetta which sounded lovely but was like a bit of dry stale toast with a slither of mushroom truffle on top which didnt save it, the "salad" was the end bits from a supermarket bag and didnt even have a bit of dressing. I even took a picture as it was so pathetic looking. The steak was nice though and perfectly cooked but the presentation and the side orders were not good. Prices were too high for the quality of food also. I am disappointed as I love to try out small family business' and give them custom but this was not worth it.

Went to Peppe's Cafe on a Friday evening without any great expectations. We were happily surprised as the evening unfolded. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was excellent considering the reasonable pricing. The food was reminiscent of Italy with bread sticks, music and decor. The home-made pasta was delicious. However my partner's highlight was the cherry ice-cream recommended by the waitress. We liked the experience so much we went back the next week and intend to go again.
Liked Most: Home-made pasta with mushrooms.
Liked least: Decor may not be to everyone's liking.

I work near here and I like to pop in here for a bite to eat in the evening. They do a great value early bird menu! The food is good and the service is quick and efficient!

Love Peppe's! I work nearby and my colleagues and I all go to Peppe's for lunch at least once a week. It's small but always full - lots of returning, happy customers. Delicious home-made pasta and great caprese salad...tastes like Italy!

I love italian food and have eaten in many italian places but this place is my favourite by far! The nicest bruschetta you will ever taste! the pasta is fantastic too. The prices are well worth the food you get. They are not really expensive, just average prices for what you get. I come here all the time, and i've brought my familiy members and friends here too and have never heard any bad comments about it. Shocked to read the other reviews. I love the place anyway and i will keep eating there mmm

The food in Peppe is nice and the atmosphere and layout is cosy, but that's really all I can say about this restaurant. Prices are very steep considering the relatively small portion sizes (especially for takeaway) and the location. Situated on North Brunswick St (surely one of the most isolated and run-down streets in Dublin) in an increasingly deserted Smithfield area, the prices are simply too high!

I also had a very bad customer service experience here recently. Popped down to grab some lunch shortly after 2.30pm, only to be told (quite abruptly) that the kitchen was 'closed' and the only food I could avail of at this time was a margharita pizza. This despite a sign in the window of the restaurant clearly stating that a full lunch menu runs until 3pm!!! Very, VERY annoying. I won't be back - there's nothing more frustrating than misleading information in a restaurant, especially when this is accompanied by rudeness!

This is a good, tiny local restaurant, with authentic Italian food. Although the wine list is a bit modest and the food somewhat expensive for a local restaurant, the experience is well worth it.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
