We took our 3 kids to eat here after a walk on the marina today. From the time of booking and arriving the friendliness or the staff was quite evident. They made us feel very welcome. The noise level in this place is quite loud, this suited us because there was no shushing the kids involved!! Food was spot on, lots of varied options, well presented and very yummy. The service was a little slow between courses, we were an hour and a half there and the adults didn't have time for dessert. I would have loved one but at that stage the kids were too tired. The thing about this place is that you could easily buy kiddies something from the adults menu...a nice change from chips and sausages/nuggest

I was here with the hubby last Friday after work. We got here very early so we were the only ones in the restaurant which was good because we got a window table. We loved the decor and the staff was really nice and explained the tasting menu. We went for two fixed menues and liked the taste of the food although my mozzarella sticks were lukewarm and I would have preferred them a little warmer. Fish and chips were really good but I honestly found that even after three courses I was still a bit hungry. I don't think I will be back soon simply because the tasting menu doesn't really work for me.

This is very cute and cosy with a nice warm atmosphere. It is very reasonably priced and the menus are excellent with a fantastic choice . I just felt that the food didn't fully cross the line. It was very good but not 'wow' , the potential here is huge , it just needs a little more attention to detail with flavours etc to give the dishes a little more punch. it could easily go from very good to amazing!!!

Portions are slightly bigger than typical tapas and choose 3 courses from broad range of options. Pay slightly more and you get a broader range again. A brilliant concept a exciting way to eat. Great value with extensive wine menu along with good choice of beers if thats your preference. Only snag is that it is slightly cramped and you are almost touching elbows with your neighbouring diners. Asides from that an enjoyable night out and one to be repeated again very soon.

Going to Malahide for to see a show, looked at menu pages for ideas of were to eat first, read some reviews and decided to go here. What a lovely place, food was great, they are small tasting portions but so tasty, not sure my hubbie would be full but it suited my friend and myself, she hasnt stopped talking about this place and we would love to return when in the area again. Keep up the good work, great views from the windows.

I ate here with 2 of my friends back in January. The restaurant was really cold and we left our coats on for most of the meal. The service was good but the staff didn't seem to be able to recommend the menu very well. It's a novel way to eat , that is having a tasting menu rather than formal starter main course and desert. The food in general was very good and well presented. As is the whole idea we had a wide range of things from the menu. The one that stood out for all of us was the pork belly. It really was absolutely delicious. The wine menu was good but the most negative thing I could say was the deserts really let the meal down. None of us finished them. Its definitely a place to go for girls who would like to nibble and drink wine but I cant see my other half enjoying this set up !

The service here was great, the staff are very nice and the quality of the food is first class. The only issue I'd have is that with the tasting menu they do here the portions can be a little small. But overall I'd be happy to return here.

Went here last night using the menupages deal and I was very impressed. There was a fantastic selection of dishes to choose from (we choose 3 savory each and one dessert). The dishes come out one each at a time so it was like four small courses. We had an array of meat, fish and veg dishes and they were each perfectly portioned, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The staff were really lovely and aimed to please with each dish. There was a great atmosphere for a Tuesday night as the place was nearly full and we got a beautiful seat at the window looking out onto the marina. Will be making this a regular spot in the future.

Once again choice on the menu is superb here and absolutely love the 'taster' type menus.. There is something for everyone here. Service was also excellent and restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday evening .. which is always a good sign. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Only downside was given the cold night if you are seated near the stairs each time the door was opened a cold draft came up the stairs.. However this was only a minor inconvenience.

6 of us went here last Friday using the menupages deal vouchers. Retaurant atmosphere is very cosy. With the voucher, we had a choice of 3 courses from the a la carte tasting menu, tea/coffee and a desert included. We all had a variety of different choices, but in all cases the food was outsanding with beautiful presentation. The roast beef wrapped in bacon was mouth watering. Fish eaters raved about the scallops. Wine was good value...and we had a lot. Really enjoyed the night out and will definitely be back. A really nice chance to have a good taste of several different meals without being a greedy pig...or goose for that matter.

Dinner for 2 at 7.30! Offered both the early bird and la carte! Both had two dishes and a dessert. Mozzarella to start was so good and my friend had the fish and chips, it too was really enjoyable and so wonderfully presented. Goats cheese for mains was a delight, elegent and brilliantly presented! My friend had the lamb pot, she too really enjoyed it.. Portions are small so I think anyone with a big appetite may have needed another portion prior to dessert. I had the cheesecake which was really tasty and my friend had the trio of coffee dessert, which she practically inhaled. The service was more than adequate. One lady by herself, served us in perfect timing and was a attentive host. Will definitely return!!

The Greedy Goose was buzzing when we visited. We expressed a preference for a window seat and our friendly server obliged. The tasting menu here offers a wide range of starter sized options. We chose the "Duo of steamed lemon sole and salmon, lemon and herb emulsion, boxty potato cake", "Pan fried sea bass, chorizo and roasted red pepper crushed potato, black olive tapenade, sauce vierge" and "pan-fried tiger prawns on sirloin steak in Sambuca sauce". It looked good on the menu and didn’t disappoint. Sadly the lemon meringue Crème Brulee was sold out but the Trio de Café substituted well. The “house white”, a decent 2010 Chilean Sauvignon Blanc provided a suitably balanced (and economic) accompaniment to an altogether memorable meal.

Nice idea or a Restaurant and menu and the lcation is lovely but it's just to small and cramped for my liking however that said others may enjoy the cosy atmosphere. Eat here with a group of 8 friends and the staff were very accomodating even travelling to a local shop for of all things red bull for one f my friends. Their set tasting menu's are great value and the food is well presented and nice. But the restaurant is simply to small to fuly enjoy the experience

My boyfriend and I ate here a couple of weeks ago after it was recommended by a friend from work who had eaten here and said it was amazing. First impressions when we walked in was very, very cosy...a little bit tight but still plenty of room. We got seated straight away and were given our menus. As we wanted bits from each taster menu we decided to order our portions from the full menu. We also got a lovely bottle of italian wine. Both of our first courses were just average and I was worried then we were going to be disappointed but the next 2 courses plus the dessert more than made up for the 1st course. My boyfriend got the roast rib of beef wrapped in bacon and it was THE most amazing piece of beef I have ever tasted. I got surf n turf which was lovely and I also got the cajun medalions of chicken which was extremely tasty & mouth watering. I think the best part for me was the dessert - I got the trio of creme brulee, mango sorbe & lemon merangue and I have to say...it is the yummiest dessert I have ever had, I couldn't stop talking about it on our way home and in fact i would drop in just to have a coffee and that dessert again if for nothing else. Definately going back there.

I love this restaurant and have been on a few occassions. Each time the food has been beautifully presented and very tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive. I have ordered something different on each visit and all dishes were lovely. I ordered a steak on one occassion and it was over-cooked. They had no problem re-doing it and were very apologetic. I look forward to my next visit.

Don't see what is so special about this place, this was my second visit and it still did very little for me. Positives .... nice atmosphere and view. Negatives bad service, small portions, food looks much better than it actually tastes, this seems to be a problem in allot of restaurants ... they concentrate too much on presentation and forget to actually season the food properly. All our party of four were in agreement that we would not be rushing back as there are much better places to eat in Malahide.

We had been told about his place for a long time by many people and it was a "Must Go" when in Malahide. We arrived with a group of eight people, the place was busy so everyone was cramped together in various sized tables in Height (some were sitting lower than others) The menu was explained to us perfectly however that is the only good thing I can say about the night. We waited for such a long time before the first course came out, followed by roughly 20 - 30 minute intervals in between before the next courses came out. Instead of being offered coffee and tea or the chance for desert they told us we could not have any and would have to pay them and leave so they could have the table. A very disappointing night.

We had a party of 10 including 2 children for lunch at 3 pm last sat. One of the adults is a Coeliac. When we arrived the 2 yr old was given a colouring page and some markers ... an experienced touch. The unusual course selection was explained very patiently Given the varied selection of courses for such a big no. of people everything arrived to table exactly right and with the perfect gap between courses. The food was beautifully cooked with balanced proportions and the Coeliac condition was very well catered for. I was complimented by all the group on an excellent choice .. in fact this was a first visit and I had found The Greedy Goose through menupages.ie. A truly unique dining experience and decent value . Well done to all the staff. We will return.

Seriously great food served up by a seriously great concept. This truly is five-star service and five-star food. My fave out of all of the menu (and you get great choice and three small meals for your whole main) was the intriguing fish and chips which was so light and fluffy I can't wait to go back for more. It's a pretty little place. But most kudos must be offered for the concept of how to serve dinner! Lovely!

I've been here 3 times now and love it. The tasting menu idea is great. It's lovely to try different dishes and the pace is nice and relaxed too. A delay with one of our courses was corrected and the staff gave us another bottle of wine and dessert on the house! The food is great and you'll find yourself wanting to return to try other dishes next time.

It really was a unique dining experience! Love the idea of the "tasting" menu. I was there for lunch and feared the portions might be small and I'd be left hungry afterwards but I could not have been more wrong. High praise for the fish & chips salad and also the cottage pie. The desserts were a bit weak.. if you aren't in the mood for chocolate the fruit and gelatine creation is interesting to say the least. However the views of the marina are just gorgeous and the staff were superb.

Wonderful place! Discovered it on a weekend in Malahide. Kindly took us without a reservation( even though they were busy). The early bird menu was grade A. Top value for money. I recommend the fish'n'chips for a brilliant reworking of an old favourite. Great views of the marina, delightful ambience, and ultra-helpful, capable staff. Will visit again for sure, and strongly endorse it to anyone visiting the gorgeous village of Malahide.10/10.

What a little gem !!! Loved, loved, loved it. A genuine find. Great atmosphere. A really pretty room with stunning views of the harbour. Excellent food, interesting presentation, friendly and knowledgeable staff made our night there one of the most enjoyable dining experiences in years. Loved the whole concept of a tasting menu to sample a few different dishes without overeating. The early bird menu is fantastic value without compromising on quality. Would highly recommend a visit.

Food was excellent - and staff were very helpful in describing dishes and helping us decide what to eat. Only negative element was the service was very fast - too fast for an enjoyable meal, and we were seated, in and out within an hour and ten minutes - including a bottle of wine, and four courses!! Also, would recommend adding a cheese board to the deserts so that those that prefer cheese after a meal have the option!! Have to say the presentation was the best i have ever seen - thank you very much!

Absolutely fabulous restaurant! The atmosphere, staff, table settings, view from the windows, everything was faultless. Very good value for money and so nice to have a taste of different dishes. Anything I have eaten off this menu has been spectacular! Have since returned and I'm trying to find another excuse to go! Prices are reasonable. Would recommend that everyone has a visit!

Dined here with 8 friends - a mums night out. The food was delicious - I think practically every plate went back empty and there is a vast choice on the menu to suit all tastes. The lady serving us was lovely - she explained how the menus worked and came back during the meal to make sure we were ok and to refill our water glasses. We were having a wonderful time and later in the evening we were asked if we wanted to order anything else before the bill and we ordered 3 more bottles of wine (1 red and two white). These arrived promptly as did the bill which came to €600 - €67 a head including service. Good value for the amount of food and wine and other drinks (Irish coffees etc) and we happily paid. Unfortunately, things then turned a little sour. Within minutes a different female staff member came over and told some of us that we would have to drink up as they were going home - we were a little surprised as they had only just allowed us to spend about €90 on the 3 bottles of wine. As she returned to setting tables at the other side of the restaurant some of our party asked what she had said, which we repeated, only for her to shout across that we didn't have to go home but that they were going home. We thought this was quite rude and not a professional way to deal with customers. It spoiled what had been until then a very enjoyable evening. Our compliments to the chef for the wonderful food and to the lady who served us (and also to the young waiter/barman who stayed so that we could finish our drinks without being kicked out) but not to the lady who treated us so shabbily. I for one won't be rushing back and I am sure most of my friends felt the same way.

Came in here over the weekend as I heard they had a new menu. The restaurant was quite busy with a lively atmosphere in it. There are quite a lot of new dishes on the menu with a few of the previous favourites kept on the menu. I had the Chana Masala which was nice nd had good flavours, the corriander gave it a nice fragrance. As a porton maybe it was slightly too big (Well compared to their other dishes anyway). I had the sole dish then which was devine. It was served with a mushroom & leek cornish pastie. Overall it was very flavoursome and quite a rich dish, maybe more suited to autumn or winter, but still delicious. I then had the quail dish which was the best. It's not something I would normally order, but I was really happy with it. You get two pieces of delicious quail and then quail spring rolls. I would definitely have this one again. I keep coming back here as I get to try something new nearly every time, and the consistency in quality of dishes is very good. Service was fairly good too.

People raved to me that I had to try this restaurant but having been there I was disappointed and will not be returning. We booked the table for 7 and were told the table would be needed at 9. i thought grand 2 hours should be plenty of time to finish our meal. It is quite a small space, with tables on top of each other. We arrived and 15 minutes later the staff explained the menu and we ordered our three courses. It was another 25 minutes before our first course arrived. I enjoyed my quesadilla but the trio of shrmp my friend had was under seasoned and not very appetising. We then waited another 25 minutes for our second course. i had the fish and chips which I enjoyed though it was a little too salty. We ended up waiting again for our third course . when our plates were cleared we were told we would be unable to order desserts or tea and coffee as it was nine oclock and they needed the table. I think this was very poor service, due to their poor time keeping we were rushed out of the restaurant and they lost out on an extra 30-40 euro. We left annoyed and very disappointed with the overall experience.

Not impressed at all. My husband and I ate here as a Wedding Anniversary treat having got a recommendation from a friend and after reading the reviews. How disappointing!!! The restaurant was small but cosy. Beautiful decor also. But a very impersonal restaurant. The tables were too close together and it was very very loud. The waitress explained the menu to us which we understood completely but the choices available were not appetising. The chicken with parmesan and brie lacked imagination & flavour while the bruschetta was soggy and cold. The Duck parcel and the Veg springroll were tasty. I also think seasoning the food before serving it was a thing of the past. Everything was really bland. Myself and my husband had been seated, ordered our food, ate our food and paid all within 35 minutes as we just could not wait to get out of there. The Greedy Goose just did not give off the wow factor I was expecting. I understand that some people might enjoy this type of concept but it wasn't for us and we will not be returning here again.

This was my second time in the Greedy Goose. Having waited for months for a chance to go with my sister I couldn't resist going back again with my friends. The restaurant while small doesn't feel crowded and is nicely lit. Also the staff are very helpful in explaining how the tasting menu works and were very attentive during the meal. This time I had the bruschetta, crab claws and the pork belly with sea scallops. The crab claws are a stand out dish which I'm sure I'll order again and the pork belly was so well cooked. The rest of our party was very happy with their choices as well. Overall anyone I've eaten with has been amazed at the presentation and standard of the food for the low price per plate. My one criticism is that some of the portions, ie the breaded chicken, are a little more substantial than others, ie the pork belly. It's only a minor thing though because everytime I go I come away stuffed, happy and feeling like I got good value for money.

Went with Husband and Kids at 5pm on Sunday and was impressed by the decor and very friendly service. Food was extremely good with plenty of variety for a very resonable price... almost like a higher end tapas bar with lots of generously sized servings. Kids well catered for. My only complaint would be that the room itself was a little cold for the time of year. They need to turn up the heat! Will definitely be back without the Kids for an Adult Only night!!

I LOVED this restaurant! Went last Sunday with a couple of friends after seeing the 4/5 star review in the metro paper. It was very busy and although there were only two young waitresses on, the service was great. The staff were very friendly and explained the concept of the restaurant extremely well despite the packed tables! We opted for tasting menu "c" and my god, everything we had was delicious! Crab claws, surf and turf, duck parcel...divine! Although the portion sizes are about starter size, 3 dishes was more than enough to fill us up, I don't know how anyone could leave here hungry??? Desserts were also fabulous, I can't believe its taken me so long to discover this little gem of a restaurant! Decor inside is beautiful too with fabulous views of Malahide marina. Would recommend this to anyone...families, friends, dates parties!

Visited the Greedy Goose for the first time on Sat night. Restaurant was busy but not packed and glad we had a reservation as our table was near the window with a great view of Malahide. The menu was explained to us as we were first timers and what a menu! Great choices and when the food was brought to the table - MMM! There was 3 of us and we all were able to choose 3 starter sized different dishes and all were delicious. Thought we could manage dessert but enjoyed a cappucino instead. Meal for 3 including bottle of wine, G&T and coffees was €127. Would highly recommend this restaurant and looking forward to our next visit.

I love this restaurant with its relaxed atmosphere together with the vast array of tastes of different dishes make an evening dining interesting. The quality of their food is top class as is their display; I particularly love their version of surf and turf and highly recommend the poached pear when it’s on!!!! Yum yum yum all the way to Smyths afterwards!!!!!

Went for an earlybird on a Sunday night so the place was a bit empty at first. The food was absolutely amazing, all 4 of us were happy with every dish. We ordered off the back menu to have a choice of 3 starter-size dishes each. Each one was cooked perfectly and delicous, from the sambucca flamed surf and turf to the prawn platter. The desserts also exceeded expectations, the choc caramel was to die for. Will definitely go back soon.

It was my first time visiting this lovely, atmospheric restaurant, with its cheerful decor and panoramic views. Our group was made very welcome and I have nothing but praise for the extremely professional service. The 'food' spoke for itself, great choice and variety, the 'Tapas' menu's were a clever and novel way to dine. The portions were more than adequate and the accompaning 'wines' lived up to their reputation. All in all, a good dining experience from an extremely critical 'foodie'. Recommend it 'highly' The 'chocolate gateau' is a 'must'.

Nice cosy restaurant and well worth a visit if you want something a bit different. The courses are smaller than usual but priced around €5 - €9 on average. There are a great variety of dishes. Pork belly was fantastic, also had the fish & chips (chips are like shoestring chips) so it is a perfect minature of regular fish & chips. The duck rolls were very flavoursome and well presented. The desserts were surprisingly good and again beautiful presentation. probably my favourite part of the meal. Decor was was nice with interesting colour schemes and service was quite good even though it was reasonably busy. I would certainly come back to try some of the other dishes.

Made a welcome return visit to the greedy goose, and was not disappointed. The food was interesting and delicious. The restaurant menu offered the opportunity to try a variety of dishes as opposed to the usual starter and main course choice. The decor is lovely. Service was very friendly and professional. Would recommend this restaurant, and hope to be back soon.

Staff need a serious change in attitude, we walked in at 8.15 pm on a Sunday evening and if looks could kill we would have been dead on the spot. There wasn't much improvement after that either in the quality of food or service. Portions are small and the dishes are very hit and miss. The yellow sauce on the seabass tasted like egg yolk and the rubbery calamari were almost inedible. The tasting menu is a very confusing concept, they brought out the 3 dishes as if they were three courses although we assumed that they were all tapas type of dishes and we were supposed to eat everything at the same time. Shame about this place, it's in a beautiful spot and it would be very easy to turn it into a special place but at the moment it looks like they're a very long way from it.

Visited here on Monday night for the first time. Their approach to food was interesting and somewhat different. Although the portions were objectively small, they were fine for me. Beyond the food quality, the space felt very cramped and the service was horrid. As someone who is used to American service, this was not my cup of tea. Overall, given the service and size of portions, I would say the restaurant is not good value for money.

We visited here on a Monday and the place was deserted. Even so, tables were squashed together and we had to move a table to sit down. The waitress made no attempt to help us out here. She explained the menu concept quite condescendingly and asked if we would like a drink. We asked for water until we had decided on food. This wasn't a smart move as it was brought to us in a small glass each, straight from the tap. We ordered 3 courses from the tasting menu, and it really was just tasting. They were definitely miniscule and the crispy pork was far from that. It was soggy from the amount of fat on it. My partner, who had fish, said the fish would have been lovely if there was enough of it to even make a starter sized portion. All in all, we were very disappointed and for €47, which didn't include even a beer, we will not be going back again to the greedy goose. I will also not be recommending it to anyone but will be letting them know what bad value we felt it was. We had supper when we got home, 45 mins later.

Great location, but there are way too many tables in the place (it was very cramped). The service was terrible. We waited ages for our food. The food wasn't anything special. Most of us were still hungry after the meal, and we all felt it was a little overpriced.

mmmm mixed feelings about this place... there was 8 of us last Sat night....With a name like the Greedy Goose, you would expect to leave here, stuffed.. this was far from the case....While some of the dishes were fab, recommend the Surf and turf and prawn platter.. The bruchetta was pathetic, 3 rather tiny slices of bread, with a few scattered tiny morsels of tomato, not great!! Soup was delicious, Sea bass TINY but delicious... We waited nearly an hour after the first course, so by this time had downed far too much vine on an empty stomach, so were all feeling a little tipsy... Having said that, the food is really lovely, but having spent €55 per head, and leaving hungry, felt this was extremely BAD VALUE!! Not sure if i would go back, if they only brought the courses a little closer together, and if the tasting menus offered 4 courses instead of 3, I would say this place would be a hit....The whole concept of the tasting menu is good, the restaurant itseld is lovely... If you set up a burger stand, outside this restaurant, you would make a fortune..

This is a nice restuarant, small and intimate but very loud when full which means you have to lean across the table to hear what anyone is saying. The food is very good. I ate from the tasting menu - the mackerel was delicious. My boyfriend chose 3 different things from the main menu - the prawns were very good. We didn't have desert but they looked lovely. Everything was plated up very nice. The service was ok but we found the waiters a bit brusk and not overly friendly - a bit like they were trying to rush us out of the place. Not the cheapest of places to eat but the food was good quality and I would go back a second time.

Have been several times and brought friend there last night for her first time. There's little more to say other than the food gets better each time I go, the staff are excellent - helpful, friendly and accommodating. (It was great to have the 3rd course held for a while so that we could take a breather - having filled up too quickly). We had a sea view and, of course, it's location is Malahide and full of great places to visit after. Have read one of the reviews submitted in which it was claimed that it was too expensive. Dunno how that worked out as we paid €55 each for the most expensive choice options together with 2 bottles of wine. I certainly think that is good value. One suggestion though. The table at the top of the stairs would be much better if perhaps a glass panel, or such, was run along the top of the banistairs and around the back of that table. It would make it feel less 'open'. Anyway, big hit with me and a big hit with my friend, who wants to go again.

Love the tasting menu. Great choices and good quality, tasty food. My husband and I have been here a few times and there are so many choices, I don't think we have had the same things twice. The tastings are good portions so you don't go away hungry. It is a fun way to try different entrees. Romantic atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I went to the Greedy Goose last Wednesday for an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend and I found the experience thoroughly enjoyable! Great atmosphere (it was quite full considering it was a week night), gorgeous decor but most importantly the food was absolutely delicious and really beautifully presented. We chose food off the al a carte menu and I have to say each course was nicer than the last if thats possible! Delicous cod fish cakes, and sea bass stood out, although I spied a fish and chip 'salad' which I will certainly be having on my inevitable return visit. Service was prompt and pleasant and we had requested a window seat and were accomodated. I look forward to going again.

The Greedy Goose? The only thing that's greedy about this place is the pricing! I went here with my girlfriend back on a Tuesday night in December and the place was very quiet, as can be expected mid-week, but that being the case, I would've expected to receive a decent level of service from the waitress. However, to my dismay, we waited a long time for our orders to be taken, and when I asked if she had a wine that we like, she snapped '"no" at me as if I'd just asked her to strip naked! Now, on the presumption that she didn't think I had suggested the latter, I would've expected a more polite response. Later in the meal she brought out the wrong dish, yet didn't feel the necessity to apologise. Usually I'd put this down as an honest mistake and forgive without prejudice, but her attitude was completely defiant. As a marketing professional I understand where companies falter, and in my eyes this restaurant falls sharply in two critical areas; service and value. The bill for this meal (and a bottle of wine) came to just under €80 and despite my modest appetite, I was still hungry after dessert. It amazes me that a restaurant with the potential of this one can open in malahide and offer completely uncompetitive pricing and service at a time when it's most critical. The food is quite nice (with the exception of my scallops which were gritty), but the portions are pathetic so you can forget about sharing a dish with your girlfriend/spouse, there simply isn't enough of it to go around! I hope the restaurant owner takes our experience into consideration, otherwise, I won't be frequenting this restaurant again.

Stumbled upon the Greedy Goose last Sunday but one look at the menu and we were seated. It's simply an array of dishes that you would order in any restaurant but, and here's the "but" you can eat several as they are not main courses but ideally sized portions. When we were seated we were asked if we had dined there before and when we replied that we hadn't our server explained "the portions are slightly larger than tapas or starters so we reccomend three if you are hungry", quite right but when ordering from their set menus (Menu C @€29 had to be chosen) you get a free thai soup and thus making four is quite sufficient. Prawn Platter was prawns three ways, each delicious in its own right, Duck Parcel did exactly what it said on the menu, we both opted for Pork Belly with Scallops which were unfortunately substituted by prawns but a fantastic dish all the same, the pork was moist and dripped off the tongue. Surf n' Turf, well that had to be mine and except for my "rare" steak arriving thoroughly cooked and the sambuca sauce not actually add anything but there were enough flavours going on. Crab Claws with Garlic & Lemon and a Chive Mash was the final dish and oh my, too often the flavour of fresh crab is overpowered in a dish but the chef nailed this one, touche. We had two glasses of a very good Merlot, a coffee and two desserts, the Apple three ways was sublime. My only gripe was that there were a few dishes along with two out of four desserts unavailable. Our servers were attentative, polite and helpful, couldn't have asked for any more. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Velentines Sunday but I hear they were out the door the previous evening. Even though sparsly populated it was warm and welcoming, particularily with the view of the harbour to my left. Put simply the food in The Greedy Goose is excellent, aided in no small part by the chef''s imagination in decorating a plate. Gice it a try, you won't be disappointed.

We arrived for our first visit to the greedy goose and were taken aback at how busy it was on a wednesday night in February. atmosphere was great, full of people enjoying the experience. and what an experience! the concept is terrific, small tasting size dishes. between the 2 of us we ordered 6 different samples-the surf and turf and the shoulder of lamb being particular favourites.my dining companion is a chef and normally fussy in restaurants but he could not fault this meal. the surroundings are tastefully decorated and the buzz in the place is great. the staff were extremly efficient and very charming and welcoming. they could not do enough for us and made the meal very enjoyable. the two of us left very full and satisfied and will definitly be back again. a breath of fresh air in dining!

Me and 4 of my friends booked our table for 8.30pm. We arrived on time and we were sent away until it was ready. We all ordered from the €29 menu which comes with soup. The first course and soup arrived promptly and together, however the second course took 1 hour to arrive! When it finally did, I politely asked the waitress to bring the third course whenever it was ready, to which she turned her face away from me in what can only be described as a huff! One friend ordered surf and turf rear and it arrived well done. The bill had an extra 10% service charge added which is not on the menu. We all agreed that the service did not warrant this which we explained to the waitress. Our change was pratically thrown on the table! Hence why we will never be returning to the GREEDY Goose.

The Greedy Goose- he must also have been a very patient goose!! Booked a table in here for 8.30 last Friday night 2 weeks ago for a friends birthday. The Bad points to the night were...#1. Arrived for our booking at 8.30 and were told our table was not ready could we go to the local pub and wait to be telephoned. We were summoned back at 9pm. #2. After finishing our first dish we were waiting for 1 hour until the second dish made an appearance. We could see 4 chefs in the kitchen and we were looking around us wondering if something was wrong but our waitress did not approach us to appologise for the wait or anything. #3. On arrival of the second course one of my friends asked the waitress if she could request that the chefs put the 3rd dish on asap as it being a birthday party, we had plans for afterwards. The waitress just walked off mid sentance. #4. When after 3 hours in the restaurant the bill was delivered there was a hand written x 10% on the bottom of the bill. We asked if this service charge was on the menu and our waitress told us "yes" but when we looked at the menu there was no service charge on it. We told the waitress we were not happy to pay the service charge as the sercive was not good. Took out money and threw the change dish back on the table. #5. They were very slow to bring water to the table. We weren't given any until after our first dish and it was delivered by the glass. #6. Steaks that were ordered medium rare were delivered to the table very well done and brown throughout. Why ask how would you like your steak if you are not going to deliver it that way? Good points. The food was alright. Not anything to rave about but if the service had been ok, and it had taken less than 3 hours to eat. I would have gone back.

9 of us visited the Greedy Goose on Saturday NIght. The athmosphere and service were brilliant, they explain the menu very well and are really friendly and helpful. 9 of us got 3 dishes each. 7 got desserts. There was not one complaint about the food, we are all still ravnig about it. I had the Mexican Quasidilles, which was really tasty and a very generous portion, I then had the crab claws with mash, which again were very generously portioned and i just cant stop thinking about how tasty they were, to end I had the pork belly and sea scallop, and i have never tasted pork like it, it was like butter melting in my mouth. Overall between 9 of us, 4-5 bottles of wine and 6 or more beers including service charge it was less than 430 euro. which i personall think is brilliant value for money! I hope they never change the decor or layout, its perfect. Cant wait to go back !

Dropped in for food on the way home. Our first visit since the Orangerie closed down. The restaurant was freezing - due to lack of doors at the bottom of the stairs. We sat by the window at a radiator but had to keep swopping places to keep warm. Food was 'grand' but a little pricy for the size of portion. They need to follow the tapas bar trend on size and price before this will take off I feel. Service was nothing to go back for :-( Sort out the heating and restructure the menu and prices and it 'could be' a big success.

Probably the worst dinner I have ever had in a restaurant. The menu was the most stupid thing you can imagine, I do not know who came up with such an idea... There are 3 menus, a, b and c.. you have to choose 3 things from each menu or just mix them as you like. The food comes in very small dishes, so you really need 3 (at least), but you end up eating 3 things that have nothing to do with each other! and.... if the 3 things you chose belong to the same menu... you get a bowl of soup!! wowww!! not a glass of wine or a desert.. a bowl of soup to add another random thing to your menu..!! The restaurant is really nice inside, we could pay attention to every single detail in the room as we were the ONLY people there!! so I cant say the service was bad... we were the only customers they had!! no surprise!! after that selection in the menu ourselves are definetely not coming back!!

Fantastic food. This was the nicest meal I have had in a long time. I really like the idea of the tasting menus and also that you could order "off menu". There were five of us and we all ordered different selections so I got to try a bit of everything. Favourites included - Surf and Turf, salt and chilli calamari, sea bass and lamb koftas. The deserts were to die for - white chocolate icecream was sensational. The place was fairly empty on a Sunday evening but as it is so small we didnt really notice. Staff are really friendly and eager to please. Will definitely be back.

Lovely, small restaraunt with character. Looking around on arrival, seeing the portions, I was worried I'd be leaving hungry but I was pleasantly surprised. Found each course just right size, favourite was the chicken with brie. Will def be back.

Mixed feelings on my second visit! The food is undoubtedly really good. However, I did find that there were few light options and I left feeling I had missed something!! I went with a girlfriend who is a regular and we ordered 3 different tapas each and shared them. Started off really well - I had the crab claws (exceptional) and she had the prawn platter (again fab!). However of the rest of the options I am not so sure - the Seabass was definitely great however I was not mad about the kofta kebabs or the fish & chips but possibly that was our fault as we had ordered too many meaty/fishy dishes! Will most definitely be back. I found it to be overall good value for money and there was a great buzz. This is a really small dining area with a lot of tables fitted in yet you did not have the feeling of being on top of each other which is always a winner!!

Ate here on a Sunday afternoon. Chose from one of their pre selected menus, each course was fantastic. Cannot fault the food , it's unusual and tasty.Goats cheese, Koftas and Ham and colcannon were my favourites. Love the tapas as you have a chance to taste things you would not normally choose. Was not very busy when we were there which meant the atmosphere was not all there but the service was excellent and couldn't fault the food. ..Nicely full after. Great Value too. Will definitely be back and will have to try it at night next time.

Have eaten here many times and never disappointed. Best value is to pick your own menu. The goats cheese is the best... Very good value. Never full which can take away from the atmosphere but the food worth it.

on the plus side: Nice atmosphere, nice staff, reasonable value, nice concept, some dishes were excellent, especially the crab claws were top quality on the minus side some of the dishes were just ok (goat cheese in the whip was quite blend quality, squids a bit tough, maquerel was not very interestingly prepared). Glad they were not my main meal overall: would go for the 29 euros taster if ever go back - It is a lovely room with good staff. It is also a place you can go with kids as enough space around and enough diversity to keep everybody happy

We ordered the Crispy Duck Spring Roll With A Sweet Soy & Honey Dipping Sauce, Asian Greens as the last of our tapas dishes. Neither of us liked what we had eaten throughout the meal. But both of us are usually big tapas fans.

Our first visit and we are looking forward to our next one. We loved the idea of choosing 3 courses from 3 different menus. The starter/tapas size portions might I thought not be enough for my mansize appetite. I was to be proved wrong as we were both well fed and happy on leaving. My other half had Homemade Soup,Oven Baked Aubergine Rolls and Warm Salad Of Fish And Chips and were all excellent with the Aubergine rolls the star of the three. My choices of Smoked Haddock And Leek Creme Brulee, Warm Chicken & Bacon Salad with butternut squash puree, honey & mustard dressing,Curried Spiced Lamb Kofta Kebabs were all superb. The qualty of the ingredients was complemented by the presentation of the food which showed great care and attention to detail. Desserts are not something I would rave about normally but the Greedy Goose has changed that. The Panacotta with summer fruits was delicious and my Pineapple with coconut ice cream and light custard was amazing. Food of this standard and value for money is a reason to be cheerful in these hard economic times.

Went for first time on saturday night. Was not too sure if small portions were going to feed two hungry men but it certainly did. Food is gorgeous. The salmon was done to perfection. We all ordered different portions and no complaints. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Left feeling pleasantly full and maybe feeling a bit like a greedy goose. Highly recommend a visit.

Four of us went to the Greedy Goose last night for dinner. We were prepared for the small portions and 3 is enough along with a very nice desert. Overall the food was very tasty and of very high quality. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Well worth a visit!

The menu selection was great, very broad with lots of option. The wine we had was delicious and the service was personal and professional. The duck spring rolls were the only dissapointment otherwise we would have given it 5 stars for food. Hopefully the restaurant will see this review and address this. The restaurant has a lovely decor and it's suitable for just a couple or a big group. We will definitely go back next time we are in Malahide.

The concept of the tasting menu is good, 3 different priced menus where you get to choose 3 dishes plus the option of ordering the dishes separately. What we got was lovely, thick tasty soup, lovely calamari, great fish and chips but we both found the portions small. Think it would be a good idea to offer main course portions for a more expensive price.

Really liked this place! Was great to sample a bit of everything! 4 of us ordered 3 dishes each on the tasting menu and had plenty of food. Duck spring rolls are really good. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for something different, and a good variety of food to please everyone!

This is a really nice place to eat! The food is different and really tasty! Love the idea of the tasting menu! I went with friends and we all ordered something different so sampled a fair bit of the menu. The duck rolls are so good. The only down side of the night was the steak with prawns. It was the one I was most looking forward to but to be honest it wasn't that great. The staff were lovely and the place itself is very cosy! Would definitely recommend it and will go back.

Ate here with some friends looking to try something different and we weren't dissapointed. The food was very nice and the Samosas are absolutley delicious. The idea is definatley a refreshing change and being able to eat several different things at one meal is a great idea. Downsides were as per another review you certainly would not leave in any way full and it is pricey. For 3 tasters (they are smaller than starters in my opinion) you would pay more than a main course in other restaurants. But well worth a visit.

A different way of dining. More like lots of starters rather than true tapas as you get served 1 dish at a time unlike tapas which are usually served together. A bit of a mixed bag. Couple of really nice dishes eg the mackeral and leek was nice and really unusual. Served cold and like a cross bwtween mousse, quiche and scrambled eggs. The chicken and ham v. tasty, The fish and chips yummy but really only 2 large nugget sized bites of fish. A bit TOO small a portion. The samosa was tasty enough but the pastry REALLY chewy so def not 1 for anybody without their own teeth. The 1 dish I would def not recommend is the surf and turf. A TINY portion of meat, approx. 2 mouthfuls and 2 prawns. The shoestring chips are actually only slivers and really only garnish. We had the dessert samosa. Lovely, and the rhubarb which was sharp and nice to share with the sweet samosa. Would try different things on the next visit. Service was very good.

Been 3 times already and booked to go again. Very pretty restaurant and totally different. Great views - there's not much in Malahide which capitalises on the view, this is lovely. Not cheap but good value. Good for those mid week nights when you can't be bothered to cook - and just have 2 tasters. But also good for smart celebrations - visitors are usually delighted because its a bit different, and its a good way to try loads of dishes. Early in the evening before they're fully staffed the waitress can get a bit over-whelmed but its not too inconvenient. Highly recommended.

Stumbled across while walking around, it is a brillant little place. Love the concept. The food was excellent. The fish a chips was the best we tasted by far. THe duck spring roll was a bit too much carrot everywhere, it was mainly carrot in it & the side salad with it was a carrot salad too, this is my only fault. Our waiter was very helpful & friendly. 3 dishes just enough without getting bloated feeling. cant wait to go bac & try a few more dishes.

what can i say,5 of us went here on sat for dinner, what a nice change for a resturant in malahide, the atmosphere is great, there was a great buzz around the resturant. The tasting menus are great value and offer 3 tasting sized portions, which were just perfect, we all went for diffrent dishes so we could try as much as possible, i have to say the honey ham and the fish and chips where my fave of the night, The service was great the staff were so friendly and very helpfull and explained the menu very well, all and all not a bad word from any of us, we will be back asap

Ok not great Myself and three friends had looked forward to eating at the Greedy Goose after reading the menupages comments however we were sadly dissapointed. To be fair the atmosphere and the decor were lovely however the food was far from good. All four of us agreed it lacked flavour and the quality of food wasn't that good. Bewarned ordering the Samosa and Crispy "Duck" (there was hardly any of it) spring rolls, you would want good teeth as the pastry is hardly pentrable even with a knife....the steak was tough, not good quality, badly cooked and had no flavour. The goats cheese was nice but all it was was goats cheese....no bread/ toast, etc. I love goats cheese but that was a serious OD of it! No one asked did we enjoy the meal.....I got the feeling from the waitress that she knew we were not and she did not bother to ask. WIne was mediocre. Brilliant concept, lovely setting and atmosphere but the quality or any resemblance of good food was not there. Unfortunately we will not be returning...

I was curious to see what this new restaurant would be like when it finally opened. Overall I thought it was an extremely good dining experience. The decor was modern and contemporary which made a nice change from the previous restaurant that was here. The restaurant was quite lively with a very pleasant atmosphere. I was a little confused when I first looked at the menu, but quickly realised that each dish was a tasting size, which I would expect to be a little smaller than a starter - similar to tapas I suppose. They offer 3 set menus 20E, 24E & 29E for a choice of 3 of the dishes on each set menu (out of about 7 choices in total). You can also choose any dish individually. The variety on the menu is well sprerad and should cater for most people's tastes. I tried one of the set menus, and the dishes were sensational in flavour, presentation and in some ways originality. My favourite was the haddock & leek creme broule. I was quite full after the meal, possibly could have fitted in a dessert but am watching the calories at the mo. Overall a very interesting a new way to dine. I'm fed up of huge portions of average food in other restaurants, this one hits the spot though and the price of the dishes do more than justice to the size and quality of the dishes. Lookinf forward to next visit.

I dined in the Greedy Goose for the second time last friday, and I find it a breath of fresh air for Malahide, and dining in general. The decor is stylish and chic, the staff are all extremely helpful and nice, and the food is absolutely beautiful. Both presentation and taste. I personally love to try lots of different things and the Greedy Goose gives me that option with the way the menu is designed. I recommend the 3 courses suggested, perhaps one more if you can, but make sure you leave room for dessert! The samosa is by far the most beautiful dessert around. The wine list is extensive and I even noted Weight Watchers wine on the list. I will be a regular patron of the Greedy Goose and I wish it and all its staff the very best of luck.....

Walking aorund Malahide on a damp Monday evening, we stumbled across the new Greedy Goose restaurant. As we were looking for something quick and not too heavy we were impressed by the extensive menu of smaller, tapas-type dishes and decided to give it a go. The decor looks well, casual but pretty. A friendly waitress sat us a window table. presented and expained the menu. All the dishes are "tasting" size, like big tapas really, which does away with old formula of starter and main course. A nice way to eat I think. We had a tomato bruschetta, a chorizo and squid salad, Braised lamb and a vegetable samosa. This (with just tap water- it was Monday) cost us €29. Really nice food and good value we felt. For a more substantial meal, you could probably have 3-4 dishes, which would probably cost about €25 a head, which is still reasonable for the quality of the food on offer. Will definetely be back.

I too visited the Greedy Goose and was EXTREMELY disappointed by the measly portion sizes! I think for the price they are charging they would need to be a little bit less stingy given the value-for-money offers that are around nowadays!! I would definitely not visit this restaurant again as I also ended up in the chipper on my way home...dismal! Service was ridiculously slow also.

I was excited to see a tapas restaurant opening in Malahide and went in on the day after opening. Was pretty disappointed with the result though. The food was tasty enough but the portions were rediculously small. Compared to tapas elsewhere where for the same price you probably get twice as much food it was a bit of a joke. If they can sort this out and increase the amount of food it would do well as it's nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly, but until this happens I would not rush back - we had to eat again when we got home!
