4.5This was my first experience eating in this establishment. My partner and I were greeted promptly by one of the bar persons, and then led to our table. While making the booking, I was led to believe that the restaurant was busy, but I saw no evidence of that. Nonetheless, our table was at the back of the room, which left me feeling somewhat disjointed from the atmosphere. On the other hand, it did allow us to converse easily. To start, my partner had jumbo prawns while I had pate. The prawns were large but few - well received anyway. The pate was smooth and very tasty, served with toasted garlic Ciabatta Bread and a warm Cumberland Sauce. For mains, the lady chose Panfried Breast of Barbarie Duck while I opted for a Prawn Linguini in a spicy tomato sauce (which was remarkably similar to the sauce on the prawn starter). Both of us enjoyed our mains. The lady serving us was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a positive experience, which I would have no problem repeating.

5.0One of the best pubs and eatery in Malahide. Despite being recently refurbished and modernised, Duffy's Pub managed to keep its charm and conviviality. The ground and first floor are rather spacious with a modern feel to it and the roof garden is a favourite for sunny summer days. Duffys always have great food and drinks deals constantly changing so check the board. If you are after snacks, they offer a great deal of a pint or glass of wine + a snack for 6.50 euro. A bargain. I had a lovely glass of Riesling and tried the loaded potato skins which were amazing, the chicken wings which were really tasty altho rather too spicy and the cheese plate which had a nice selection. Not to mention that the staff are extremely friendly. I totally recommend this pub for a snack and a drink. Only little downside: they don't have a laser or credit card machine upstairs so you have to pay downstairs by card or have cash on you.

4.5I had the jumbo prawns to start and they were delicious. Very jumbo. Then for main course I had the duck. The mash and jus were really nice but the duck was a bit over cooked for my liking. Service was excellent and the pub was quite relaxing.

5.0Had lunch for first time at Duffys with my parents recently. They offer a great selection of pub grub and a Three Course menu for €12 which my parents opted for. Dad had the Lamb & Mushroom Pie and Mum has the Crusted Haddock. Both agreed the food was tasty, plenty on the plate and great value. I had the open chicken sandwich served on a platter with plenty of salad and garnish. Although, Tea and Coffee is not included, €2.80 for a pot of tea for two is very good value. Service was definitely with a smile. Looking forward to going back. If you are visiting Malahide check out Duffys for lunch.
