Beautiful restuaurant all around, view of the harbour is amazing. Staff are very friendly and the fillet steak is delicious. Looks quite small on the plate when given but is thick so it is filling for the hunger pangs. Very classy restaurant. The butterbean soup is my favourite soup out all restaurants I've ever eaten in so definately try it if you are here.

Birthday celebration let down. My family and I ate here for a birthday celebration and unfortunately left feeling really let down and to be honest a bit hungry. Four of our group ordered seafood cocktail starters and were really disappointed to find mussels in there as they weren't listed on the menu. The prawns still had the digestive tract in them and hadn't been de-veined so these were left behind, not that any comments were made by the waiting staff who collected the half eaten starters. Mains were comprised of various fish dishes and a steak which needed to be returned as it was seriously underdone. When it was returned, no fresh veg accompanied it. The veg selection was really basic and disappointing. Then dessert. My husband ordered lemon tart and was told immediately that there was none left - why he couldn't be told this when the menu was given to avoid the disappointment of selecting something which was not available, I do not know. All in all a huge disappointment and I won't be back

Came here with my parents and boyfriend for a special occasion. Really disappointing. Extremely limited menu unless you are a seafood fan. I had the goats cheese mouse to start. Could not eat it. The mushroom risotto similar, far too salty and almost cold. The staff were very tentative and asked was there a problem as i consistently sent back untouched plates, however the food simply was not up to par. I literally resorted to eating the veg sides that came with my boyfriends beef and some chips. Was very hungry when i left. Also boyfriends toffee pudding was not nice at all. Overall very disappointing considering the price range and the standard the claim to be at.

We had Sunday Lunch here. Everything was perfect and service very good. Used my loyalty card and managed to almost cut the bill in half. Brilliant!

Wedding anniversary celebration gone wrong. My husband's first experience of Cruzzo's which won't be repeated. We arrived to a dark foyer to find two couples waiting..... no staff. We led the way up to the restaurant - again no staff to welcome guests. Shown to our table and waited for menus. The place was busy. We ordered and waited almost an hour for our starters - scallops with pea purée and beef tartare. Both good. The couple next to us had nothing served from the time we arrived and management visited them twice. Mains were Tipperary pork (various cuts) - very good. Half a lobster - presentation poor and was 'soggy'. I enquired about vegetables of which there were none listed on the menu - green beans and baby potatoes (poor selection for a restaurant of this calibre) extra cost. No staff member checked on us or whether the food was satisfactory. After the first glass we poured our own wine during the meal - last glass was poured for us. Very disappointing as I have had previous positive visits myself. Not good enough I'm afraid. We won't be back :-(

Very let down by the service and food in Cruzzo's. I had high hopes due to its location and high priced menu. You dont mind paying extra if the food and service are good but this was possibly the worst meal Ive had out in a restaurant. It took far too long for the food to arrive initially. The starters were really poor and more of a decoration than food content. There was nothing substantial to eat on the plate. It then took an hour for the mains after that which wasn’t warm, was under cooked & was missing some of its ingredients i.e. sweet potatoes, olives etc....The side dishes didn’t come out till 10minutes later. So the meat was extra cold by the time that arrived. I asked for well done and I got rare. I asked had I been giving someone else’s order and they told me no that this infact was well done, pink! The service was non existent. They were in and out then never to be seen again. After speaking to some people it turns out they had a similar experience there. I wonder how this place gets any good reviews or business. Nice location, but everything else isn’t!

I thought the food was gorgeous but i thought the service wasnt great. Our chips didnt come out until after we had our main course which wasnt really any good to us. i thought the location was fantastic over looking the marina and the bar downstairs was nice and relaxing after dinner. The staff were very pleasant but we felt let down by the service.

The location of Cruzzo's is to die for! Overlooking the marina at Malahide this restaurant has a lot going for it even before one sits at one's table. Our party of four chose from the a la carte menu. Starters of salmon, pate, and rissotto were only adequate. The portions were small but the prices large! The rissotto was warm instead of hot. The main courses of steak (2) salmon and pigeon were excellent but again the portions were small. For 29euro I would expect a steak of at least 8 to 10 ounces. These were more like 6 oz at most. The wine list is good and, suprisingly, not expensive. I believe that a new chef has been there for only a few weeks. He has a way to go if in these difficult times he charges the prices he does and gives so little food in exchange.

A lovely looking restaurant in a great location. We had a table with nice views of the marina. Myself and a friend went for lunch and opted for the 3 course inc coffee and a bottle of wine for 2 @ €62. Both our starters were delicious and very big portion size. I had chicken wings which were in a really tasty sauce and she had goats cheese moose. We both had lamb shank for main which was disappointing. The gravy tasted of black olives (something I hate) and wasnt described as such on the menu and the lamb didnt fall off the bone as it should. Mind you we were so full after the starter that it didnt bother us too much. Both desserts were also really good. Staff were welcoming, pleasant and efficient. There was quiet a delay with our starter which as it happened didnt bother us but the waitress handled the situation nicely by keeping us up to date. The house red was very good. Good value overall.

I have been to Cruzzo's on many occasions but it has been some time since my last visit and I was very disappointed to find it seems to have gone downhill A LOT since my last visit. The food was average and I had to ask the waiter twice to bring bread and water to the table. The main course was cold and throughout the meal the waitress seemed to be in a very bad mood which left a horrible atmosphere. The final straw was when we went to pay the bill I tried to pay with a One4All voucher as it clearly displays on their website that it accepts these vouchers. I was told by the waitress that they couldn't accept the voucher and when we asked for the Manager she was downright rude and when we tried to explain politely that we had seen it on the website advertised that we could use this voucher she said "I don't want to start an argument", never apologised, spotted my laser card whipped it up and processed it without asking was it ok to use it. Also there was a large group sitting beside us on the night and we noticed they returned two if their main courses because they were cold. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

This was a lovely restaurant to choose for a special family occassion, my mother's 60th birthday! The staff were lovely and the venue was beautiful, stunning views etc.. The only complaint I'd have is that there weren't many vegetarian options and overall it is a tad pricey - so wait for those special occassions and you won't be disappointed.

Went on the pigsback deal so it was ok value for money. The idea was you got €50 worth of food for €25 but it did not include any side dishes with your main course so in essence you could not really avail of €50 worth of food. I certainly would not pay full price for the meal. I had foie gras for starters which was just like any ordinary chicken liver pate. My main course of monkfish was dried out and cold. In fact the people at the table who ordered steak got hot food the rest of us had to make do with lukewarm food. We ordered sides of potatoes which were cold. No apologies given when we complained our food was cold, we were offered replacements but as we were with a group it would have meant eating you main course when everyone else had finished.

Went for dinner using a Pigsback Megadeal. The restuarant was quite full when we arrived at 7.30, i'd say their early bird is v popular. I had the duck spring roll to start which was really nice, fillet steak for mains, cooked medium rare as I asked but the taste of the meat was only ok - if I had of paid full price I would have been disappointed! gorgeous dessert of chocolate tart tho. The meal was enjoyable, the service was great but I dont think I would be rushing back... Although maybe for their early bird - the table next to us had lovely looking dishes in front of them when we arrived which were not on the a la carte menu.

Beautiful location, no atmosphere but it was a weekday when we visited, my food was ok wouldn't rave about it, I got duck spring rolls to start and steak as mains, my boyfriend got the pate to start and scallops as mains, his pate was amazing and he enjoy the scallops, if i went again i would get the pate it was very tasty. We had to wait a while for our drinks but otherwise it was ok

First time we visited and we loved it. Lovely interior, very bright with a lovely view. In terms of food we loved every bit. My wifes Greek Salad with sea trout was light and fresh with a perfectly smoked trout and my goats cheese tart was very well complemented by the piece of Salmon. For main course my wife had Pan fried Sea Trout, which with the Cous Cous, Tomato Sauce & Almond Tapenade was a brilliant combination of flavor and texture. I had the Lamb chops which were as well very satisfying. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Cheescake and Roulade for Dessert also left nothing to desire. Service was friendly and attentive and food arrived promptly. If we would have had eaten a la carte i would've found it a bit pricy, but as we went for the early bird menu, so overall value was very reasonable.

My wife and I ate here last night and certainly will not be back. The service throughout was nothing short of abysmal - they ran out of the wine we ordered, so had the very ordinary Chilean Merlot, which we had to remind them to bring as it had not arrived before our starters were finished. We then waited the best part of an hour for our main courses, the ticket for which had been 'lost' in the kitchen. A scant apology was offered but nothing more. We felt invisible for most of the evening. No discount offered off the bill. The food was okay but nothing special - elsewhere is the same price (€30 for three courses) and is so much better. No reason to go back here at all.

Went here for a la carte on Friday night with my boyfriend. The location is really beautiful with a view out onto the marina and the interior of the building is very modern. We had 3 courses and I could not really fault the food it was all delicious and quite different to typical menus however i would advise ordering a side with the main courses. The staff were absolutely lovely our waitress could not have been nicer. The only downside of the evening was the fact that the restaurant was very quiet which took from the atmosphere.

Had early bird here on Saturday night. Five adults and two children. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Didn't feel that bringing the kids was a pain for them. Chicken wings for starters were good but not zingy enough for my taste. Salmon for main was nice but could have done with more sauce. Accompanying potato cake was delicious. Roulade for dessert was ok, nothing amazing. They did bring out a birthday dessert for my Mum, which was nice. House Merlot was very drinkable. Lovely location, competent staff, nice food - it was the early bird so a la carte is probably a bit more exciting. Will be back.

Myself and 2 friends went for a christmas meal midweek in December 2010. It was absolutely gorgeous food, we had mainly seafood dishes and they were all lovely. For dessert we had an eton mess with a slightly strange mix of flavours, but overall an excellent meal and excellent value. Would definitely recommend and they have a great value early bird menu.

I have eaten in Cruzzos many times. My favourite option is their lunch menu to be honest as I feel it is much better value for money. The dinner menu isn't a good value. Great location for a nice lunch!

Cruzzo's location is second to none, but after that, meal left a lot to be deserved. We arrived to find a sign downstairs telling us to "go straight upstairs". No offer to take coats - just as well because the restaurant, which was pretty empty on a Friday night, was cold. The Game Terrine starter was OK, although Gravladax was rubbery and left a lot to be desired. The main courses were not of the quality expected at the prices charged (or any prices). Sea Bass with a "TOmato Fondue" came with a smear of Tomato Puree on the plate which tasted very much like Tomato Puree from a tube. A "Salsa" of vegetables was peas, and chopped up asparagus and beans. Fish was over-cooked, and my friends halibut was so dry it was inedible. Desserts were about the only redeeming feature. Service was mediocre, food over-priced and not good.

If you put pork belly on a menu, serve pork belly! My sister ordered this & was served a pork chop - when she queried it she was told it was defo pork belly, maybe she wasn't familiar with eating it!!!!!!! If this restaurant needs to learn anything, it should be not to insult the client. Won't be back again.

Dreadful experience. Went to Cruzzo recently with a group. Had been on several occasions previously and always enjoyed it. Could not honestly say anything good about the most recent experience. Menu was dreadful, extremely limited and food was a disgrace. Staff were anything but friendly or receptive and service left a lot to be desired. The place was half empty which meant it was devoid of any athmosphere. Prices as high as ever whilst most other restaurants appear to be reducing prices. Very very disappointing and certainly wont be returning anytime soon.

Why post this dont be irish and complain on the night ????

Firstly why would you just assume we are Irish?? Secondly we did complain on the night (more than once) and the reply we received was "well I'll pass your message on"...Very unsatisfactory from any restaurant but particularly one of such high standard as Cruzzo. Also you might note, 3/4 wks later no reply to my comments from anyone at Cruzzo? Or perhaps thats who you represent yourself?

Went to Cruzzos with a party of ten. The atmosphere was really nice and the view stunning. In the main, the food was really nice but the portions were only reasonable. One of our starters was not what we ordered. The staff were quite friendly and the service in general good. Overall the experience was enjoyable but I felt that we did not receive very good value for our money.

Second time eating here and found it once again to be overrated. Food was average at best. Risotto king crab starters was not nice. Very little crab and the rice was not prepared well. My goats cheese starter was very small and came with the added benefit of a hair wrapped around it!! It was presented with a lavoche and some unknown jus neither of which complimented the dish. Two fillet steaks were ordered, one medium-rare which came out medium and one medium which came out well done. Dissappointing especially when waiters never came over to check if everything was alright as they were too busy serving other customers. Didn't bother with overpriced desserts and although they sounded fancy we expected them to be a let down like the rest of the menu. I have eaten bar food in Howth that would be rated much higher. Would not bother going back as there are plenty of other places in malahide with higher quality food and service at better prices.

It had been a few years since I had eaten here. The service and the atmosphere is great and the live music is a nice touch. I had the salmon to start which was very small compared to my husbands ceaser salad altough it was delicious. For mains we both had steaks which were melt in the mouth and lovely veg to go with it. They had some great offers on so we will go back.

Excellent service and super friendly staff. We ordered a medium value white wine with our meal and as it was sold out we were given a complimentary bottle of a more expensive and tastier bottle. I had the fish and chips which had the proper traditional chunky chips but none of the grease. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyed Sunday lunch here recently. The restaurant is lovely and very comfortable. There is good value to be had on the Sunday lunch menu but I didn't find the range of choice great. Mains are the very standard roasts, fish and pasta for the vegetarian. This will suit mostly people though so it's not a big deal, I would have liked to try something a bit different though. The fish and chips I ordered were done to perfection. Desserts are fantastic here, I found it really hard to choose just one. I had the roulade in the end and it was delicious. The staff were good but they calculated the bill incorrectly and then argued about it a second time. It was all sorted out though, so all's well that ends well. I'm unlikely to be a regular but I would certainly return again.

This is one fabulous location for a restaurant, especially at night time and all the lights lit up on the Marino. The food is fabulous, i loved the variety of breads and so fresh. I also love sea food and this is the restaurant to go to for same. It is on the pricey side, but it is worth a treat now and again. The service was very good.

Visited here for lunch as a guest at a “Communion” lunch. Have been here before a few times and always had a good experience. There was no-one at reception when we arrived, but we were shown to our table after a few minutes. Staff waiting our table (two) were very pleasant and friendly. The set menu was quite good, with a nice variety to choose from. (Might be an idea NOT to put the price on the menu for this kind of lunch, where most diners are guests of a host etc..?) This menu was €29.20 approx, including 12.5% service charge. I think it was relatively good value, as the standard of food and service was very good and the surroundings and atmosphere are lovely. I would fault a couple of things that let it down, however. The tables were covered with “disposable” table cloths, which really lowered the tone of the lovely setting. (In fact, they were just being wiped clean afterwards). They were also out of stock of the first two wines that we ordered. The waiter offered a replacement of the next choice “at the same price” as our first, but that would have been bad value, seeing as our host HAD to order a cheaper wine! Also, in this instance, they insisted on taking your full order (i.e. including dessert) at the start, which is awkward, I think. I would praise them for lovely fresh baked bread on the table straight away, and offering a choice of bottled or tap water for the table. Children’s menu is also good, with starters, mains, desserts all individually priced - very handy. There is a piano downstairs, which is sometimes used for entertainment - would have been nice to have some live music on this occasion, seeing as the dining room was full. Overall though, a nice enjoyable experience, good food, good service, lovely setting. All guests appeared happy and would recommend.

Well can't fault the location! Spectacular view of Malahide marina at sundown. Went with a group of 12 for a birthday dinner, so we had a set menu. Choices were good - had a caesar salad to start, was pretty standard! Had a sirloin of beef for my main, which was delightful, cooked perfectly. It was served with lyonnaise onions and portion of mash, both were faultless. Had cheesecake for desert, again, very nice. Manager suggested a lovely wine for the table, and the price for the set menu was fantastic. Only qualm was that I thought service was lacking compared to the last time I was there.

Been here many times and we love the location. Went for a quick bite before the cinema and had corn fed chicken and fillet steak, plain and simple! both were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. As always the staff were on the ball, always friendly, we were in and out in an hour, plenty of time for the flicks! Proves to us that Cruzzos can suit both a long dinner and a quick bite. We'll be back soon.

Had lunch in Cruzzo on Saturday, and once again confirmed this place as one of our absolute favourites. When the sun shines in Malahide, there is no nicer restaurant to visit. At a wedding the previous evening, so wanted something light and tasty. Both chose the Blue Cheese and Walnut salad to start, which was delightful. Not too many leaves, lightly dressed, with enough Blue Cheese to give plenty of flavour, but not to be over-powering. Fish and Chips for me, and Sausage and Mash for the wife. Sounds ordinary, but tastes special !! Light batter coating on lovely Cod, with the most perfect chips - floury and soft inside, and just crunchy enough on the outside. Toulouse Sausage with creamy mash was just as good - not a mouthful of either dish left. With a glas of wine each, the bill was surprisingly reasonable. Terrific value for money. Service is always good here, and this visit was no exeception. Cruzzo is still one of our absolute favourites !!

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. We were there to celebrate my sons birthday in a party of 8. Firstly the service was very slow to take our order. The starters were lovely but the mains were disappointing. The main courses were all served with wilted green veg and the most stodgy mash I've ever tasted. The kids meals were not the same quality as before either. Last time the children got a full chargrilled chicken breast but this time it was a small chicken finger, served with the same stodgy mash and sad greens. The deserts were fine but we won't be returning there soon. Worked out quite expensive for lunch too, when drinks and service on everything was added on, which annoyed me as one waiter actually brought the wrong thing twice and was rude!

I returned to Cruzzos last weekend for a special occasion. In summary Cruzzo's is not the restaurant it once was. Gone are the linen table cloths & napkins and special dining experience and in its place a medicore Bistro style set up with a menu that is overpriced. Their website still protrays their image of old. Our starters were ok, our main courses had to be sent back as the steaks were unacceptable. The management did try to make amends by offering free desserts and coffees. Whilst I appreciated his efforts the evening was ruined. I'm sorry we didn't call it quits after the main course fiasco.

Visited Cruzzo's for the first time last weekend and had heard great things about it. Unfortunately we were very disappointed overall. We found the hostess' at the door were very young and looked like it was the last place they wanted to be.When we were brought to our table it was in the middle of the restaurant and I asked could we sit at one of the tables near the window, but we were told it was someone elses table, although there was noone at the table. shortly after another couple were shown to the table. We felt we were rushed through the whole meal. The waiters were constantly milling around the tables, bumping into our chairs. At the end our waiter told us that the table behind us were causing him so much hassle! I thought it was very unprofessional! The food was of a good quality, considering they seemed to be producing it at high speed, but I don't think we'll be going back in a hurry!.

Came here for lunch, the setting is lovely and the service was great, however the food tasted like it had been cooked before we came and had been sitting in the oven for a while, i realise it's valentines so they were busy but it was a little disappointing.

Went to Cruzzo with my fiance for a nice meal out and we ended up paying €65 for 3 courses and a bottle of wine, which was fantastic value. As ever the food was delicious, wholesome and really tasty. Must recommend the home-made cookie dessert which was truly amazing! Overall for €65 per couple that kind of value for money is hard to beat.

It was a late sunday lunch. Absolutelly awful singer in the bar are of the restaurant with some attempt of a jazz. However upstairs we were seated by the window, lovely waitress, table cloth the whole nine yards. Sunday menu was simple and oll three cources were delicious. Especially the chowder, which wasn't heavy (unlike in most places - more cream & flour than seafood). This one was potato based with no cream at all and was fresh as heaven. Waiting time for food was longer than average, but it was sunday so we weren't in a hurry. After mains that the lovely watress completelly forgot about us and hubby had to get up and walk to find another one who disapeared just as well. The girl came up eventually asked if want a dessert but than remembered that two glasses of wine never arrived. Bless her. Would go back again if in the area.

This wasn't a usual restaurant visit as our company had booked out the restaurant for our Christmas party. I had been outside Cruzzos in the marina area before but this was the first time inside and I was very impressed. Nice bar area downstairs for drinks reception and music later. Very large space upstairs which coped comfortably from our very large group. Being Christmas it was a set menu but there were some nice choices. I had the chowder and seabass and both were great. Can't comment about desert as it was christmas cake which I'm not mad about. Very enjoyable evening and makes we want to have a normal visit

Visited this restaurant last week, wow, fantastic location, great view over the harbour. Service was a little slow, but the food was worth waiting for. The sauteed tiger prawns were delicious, fresh and big with a delicious sauce. The chocolate bread and butter pudding was gorgeous but one shared with a partner was more than enough. Would have liked the white wine to have been chilled a little more. Would recommend this place to take visitors to ireland whom you wish to impress. Hope to return again soon.

We had a very dissapointing meal in Cruzzo's on Saturday night. Myself and my partner booked in for the new early bird which includes a bottle of wine, fantastic value we just couldn't resist. I have to say the the setting and ambience did not fail to impress on arrival and our hopes were high. Unfortunately everything went downhill from here. Our waiter was quite unfriendly and didn't seem to want ot be there. Our starters arrived promptly and were ok but nothing special. I had the Confit Duck Leg for main course which was far from crispy as you would expect. I sent it back and what was returned was marginally better but still quite soft and very greasy. My partners steak (a dish that was nothing more than you might expect from your local pub) was rare instead of medium. On my way back from the bathroom our waiter stopped me in my tracks to ask if I was going to have dessert as he already had my partners order, I thought this was very unprofessional and when I asked if I could maybe see the menu again it was literally thrown at me. The desserts were probably the best part of the evening which was then topped off my being charged seperately for food and wine instead of the deal advertised. This took a further 20 minutes to sort out. I really hope if we do decide to ever give it a second chance it will live up to it's name because on this occasion it really did let us down.

We went there on Saturday for early bird menu which is a great value. The food was nice and service as well. There was a family with two kids aged 6 or so next to us. They were treated as adult customers - given their menu by the waiter and asked what they would like and addressed as miss. It was really cute! Another thing that we liked was that we weren't rush out to vacant the table although it was getting busy. I don't have to prize the venue and the views - i hope it goes without saying! Will definitely be going back.

6 of us from Drumcondra went to Cruzzo's we took a cab out and back. It was excellent night. We went for the early bird had our complimentary wine and ordered a few more. The food, the service, the atmosphere and the value were 2nd to none. We later adjourned down stairs where we enjoyed the music to finish off the night. We will go again it was a great night. AidanB

The location of this restaurant is great and the view from the dining room is beautiful. It has a lovely atmosphere and round tables which are great for large groups. The food however wasn't amazing. I had mussels for starters and they were lovely but my main course of seafood linguine wasn't nice.

Went here today for lunch and I muct say it was lovely. The steak was melt in your mouth fantastic and service excellent. The veg was cooked to perfection with an amazing sauce. Great value for lunch also. My brownie for dessert left a lot to be desired but my friend's crumble superb, so perhaps just a bad choice on my part. Recommend a visit.

I was so disappointed last night, after travelling 20 miles on the first sunny evening in Dublin in a month and to be seated away from the windows and the view and to be put facing into the restaurant, I asked for a window seat and was told that this was the seat that was assigned to us and nothing could be done about that!!!!!! It was a Wednesday night at 730. He was down right rude. Our food was ok, even my 13 year old commented that it was only 'ok', my fish cakes were cold, there was 2 clams in the clam soup (and sweetcorn! yuck), the steak was like something that was cooked 2 days ago and reheated, no juice whatsoever, my friend asked for his medium to rare and we asked for medium to well and there was no difference whatsoever between them. I ended up with more steak in the tissue than in my belly. The one and only good thing about our night out was the very friendly waiter who served us (not the guy at the start), only for him all food would have been sent back it was so bad. I defo wont be ever returning. They should get rid of the early bird if they can't be bothered to cook proper! I defo will not be returning.

We went to Cruzzo last Saturday night and thought the food and service was excellent. We were greeted by really friendly, local staff with a great understanding of the menu and attentive service throughout. Our food was fresh and we could have a really nice mix of local seafood and quality Irish meat. Our wine was great value and the list had alot on it all at competitive prices. I normally eat in town more so than around Malahide, but would recommend Cruzzo for the buzzy atmosphere and all the above, it's definitely worth it. As it got darker the lights on the marina with the soft music and overall vibe was really something special, and a little different. They've also brought their prices in line with our tightened budgets and represent the current climate whilst not scimping on the food quality and service, wihich is too rare and much appreciated by us! They couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great night..and we did! We'll be back!

Poor. Food below average quality and the service inattentive and mildly forgetful. The restaurant was not very busy and seemed well staffed. Our order was taken but not written down. My son’s food came without gravy as requested. The soup I ordered arrived luke warm and while I expected potato what arrived was tomato so maybe I misheard. My wife’s calamari was not crispy at all. In my opinion the sirloin steak I ordered was served in what appeared to be water. My wife ordered battered fish and chips. The fish was served with soggy batter. Our food was disappointing. The table beside us sent several plates of food back. Maybe the chef didn't turn up and someone inexperienced was standing in. Pity to have such a great location and opportunity and deliver below par. I emailed the mgt as it was such a bad experience but received no response. Won't be returning.

It's a lovely setting by the marina, the service was good, but the food was nothing special. We had the lunch menu & in fairness the starters were good -fishcakes + ham hock terrine. Mains were disappointing - my partner's sirloin steak was tough, and whilst my squid was good, the accompanying pea/courgette salad was deeply unpleasant. I also didn't feel it was any great bargain at 20 euro per head for the 2 courses.

Have dined here several times and really enjoy it. The service is always excellent and the setting is really lovely. I find the menu quite limited though, not much to choose from but having said that everything they serve up is delicious so not a problem. The fish is beautiful but if you dont like fish, I dont think the other dishes are as tasty. Starters were delicious, I had the Paté. Sea bass I'd highly recommend. Staff were excellent throughout. On a different note, the bar area downtairs is great for a drink both before and after meal, lovely restaurant.

Went here last saturday after reading the menu on menupages, sad to say it wasnt great from start to finish.Arrived and found that the men was not as was advertised on menupages, starters i had calamari which was average, mains i had the trout which was absolutely completely undercooked which i had with fries which were of the skinny shoestring variety very limp(had to return) and bizarrely enough i had the "life of a strawberry"for dessert which was ok(unusual name for a dessert). The menu is obviously new as i wasnt the only 1 sending back food, come on Cruzzo you can do better than this,i was a big fan before but very dissappointed with current menu.Service very good though

a group of us girls out from the local club would be regulars in cruzzo restaurant, we waited 40 minutes for starters which when they arrived they looked like they were reheated, main courses took the same and were awful, if this wasn't enough when we got the bill it had to be changed 3 times from being over charged, i think it will be a long time before we will be back especially in these hard times.

Nice place, lovely location, but I expected more from the menu. Expected more seafood options and was very disappointed with the selection of main courses, we would have been more satisifed with courses on the early bird menu. That aside, our food was perfectly cooked and of very good quality, blueberry and lemon curd cheesecake delicious! Reasonably priced, which was a nice surprise. Would visit again, but not in a huge hurry.

I left this restaurant on saturday evening feeling very disappointed. Food was noting to write home about and the service wasnt on par with other, cheaper restaurants. I dont mind paying for good food and service however Cruzzos certainly didnt provide either. Overpriced and over-hyped.

I realise I'm going against the grain here compared to previous reviews for this restaurant but I was very disappointed with Cruzzo and it all comes down to the food. I went for here for Valentine's night and was very much looking forward to the meal, having heard great things but every course (for me at least) proved disappointing. Tiger prawns in Japanese Panko breadcrumbs sure sound fancy, but they're still just deep-fried breaded prawns no better than the average pub platter would serve. My main of duck with noodle salad was two very dry overcooked pieces of duck, completely unappetising and served on a drab plate of what seemed to be to be like instant noodles. Very very poor. My partner fared better however and enjoyed his crab and haddock soup though found it too salty. The fillet of hake was delicious though a frankly tiny portion for the price. We shared a creme brulee that was taken from a fridge and not prepared fresh. It was tasty, but I would expect more. Service throughout the night was friendly and attentive, though there was a gap of about 15 minutes between being given the dessert menus and our orders being taken. Overall a very very disappointing and overpriced experience and I'd be reluctant to return.

I have to say the early bird is just fantastic value and the choice on the early bird is great. 5 of us dined and all of us really enjoyed all 3 courses. Starters 3 of us had chicken wings and they are the 2nd best chicken wings i have had in Dublin, the other 2 had Soup and Salad both went down a treat with the eaters. 3 steaks ordered in different ways, all came exactly the way they where ordered and all where enjoyed very much. Chicken was really tasty and side of veg and chips at no extra cost. Great food and cocktails, will be back soon.

Have eaten here on many occassions, most recently last Saturday in a party of six. There is no doubt that Cruzzos do the large party thing exceptionally well. The service was courteous, professional and extremely efficient. The atmosphere is buzzy and large parties certainly don't dominate the room. In terms of food I would suggest that it is slightly overpriced, however you are buying into the overall experience rather than just the food. I had the excellent goat's cheese tartlet for starter followed by the fillet steak (medium) and the ample cheese plate to finish. My only complaint would be that the steak was more well done than medium. In general the table was reasonaly pleased with the food quality, but all had an extremely enjoyable night which, as I said earlier, is more what Cruzzos is about. Will be back again.

I had wanted to try Cruzzo's for a good while and the perfect opportunity came in Dec for my birthday. I was very impressed with the layout, the views of Malahide marina from it are fab. There's a lady waiting to hang up your coat and she gives you a ticket, all very proffessional. The food was nice if a little expensive, you have to pay for your 'sides' ie veg and potatoes seperate which I don't totally agree with. Staff were attentive but I think the waitress needed to make herself more familiar with the menu, I asked her one or two questions that she wasn't able to answer. However it was a pleasant meal and pleasant surroundings and I will go back again soon. Downstairs on the way out a piano player and a man singing wearing a tux added a lovely touch to the bar and it would have been nice to stay and have a drink afterwards.

My partner and I went to restaurant on recommendation from the Hilton Hotel we stayed at. Arriving at the restaurant the receptionist took her time before paying attention to us, also she was only occupied with scribbling something down. When seated my partner and I rearranged the chairs as we felt that the table was so hugh and we would have to yell at each other in order converse during the dinner. The receptionist offered us then another table next to the one she had initially chosen but it meant we would have to face the column, which I rejected. On this occasion the receptionist was rolling her eyes!!! In contrast to this initial, everything but warm greeting, the waiter was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful with the menue and wine selection. My partner ordered the monk fish and I went for the risotto. We shared a platter of oysters as a starter which were delicious. The risotto had a strong flavour of the parmesan flakes on top which tantalized the taste buds - in the beginning. When I went further to the middle, the risotto turned out to be the most flavourless dish I ever had. The texture was creamy, liquid and reminded me rather of rice pudding than risotto. I sent the dish back as it became more and more disgusting. Instead I ordered a bowle of rocket salad due to the lack of anything else on the menue that I would not have considered as pub food. The monk fish turned out to be teniouce. But we should have expected it. Questioned, the waiter told upfront that it is frozen and not fresh fish. All in all I think it is an overpriced restaurant which pretends to be something special. They serve huge portions but the quality is poor. Only the very attentive service from the always smiling waiter saved our evening from being a mere disappointment.

Went with group of friends for Christmas Night out. Ate from the Christmas Dinner Menu. Had Quail, for starter Venison for main course and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. All the food was excellent. Service was very good. Very quiet in the restaurant that night so atmosphere was a little lacking. Also a little on the expensive side.

I have eaten here many times , both Lunch , mid week dinner and weekend dinner, I have to say I found the food more like Hotel restaurant style rather than local restaurant, the building is very good and impressive and unique, and I think they get away with a lot because of this, there must be a seating capasity of 200 at least , so it is big, and big is hard to be beautiful, it is hit and miss how you might enjoy this place depending on the seating, but I have been here for a christing with a large gang and it was good, So as a restaurant 2 - 4 people - not really , big gang loads of drink - yes

A beautiful setting for a romantic dinner. Very med! But unless your seated by the window it looses its impact. Too many tables packed in otherwise. The staff are doing the best they can on busy nights. Food is just average. Not good enough to warrant a hasty return. Overall nice setting, but over rated.

Lovely setting, food was very average. Service was very disorganised, left waiting over 25 mins before we were shown to our table, another 20 before our order was taken. Prawn starter I had was excellent rest of food was average. Check your bill over €40 was added for drinks from bar downstairs in ERROR!! & we were not the only people to complain. I won't be back in a hurry.

My wife and I ate here for dinner on Friday. We waited in a que to get the hostess. There was only one girl on and she was running up and down the stairs to seat people. She was friendly and took our wet coats. The view is lovely at Cruzzo, but only if you get a window table. I'd say the service is nice, but the waiters seemed understafffed too. They were running around but it was hard to get attention. It took a very long time to order our wine and then our food as well. We were brought rock hard bread. Our food was nice, but overpriced for what you get. No sides with anything and the sides are quite high priced. We went downstairs and then bartender was friendly and the band was nice. We eat out at least twice a week. With so many choices to dine in Malahide, we won't be rushing back if we return at all. Cruzzo has a friendly staff, but overpriced and very pretenious place.

we have heard some mixed reviews of Cruzzo's recently so decided to judge it for ourselves!! We found the staff to be very pleasant and attentive. The food quality was excellent, as you can see from the star rating. Recommend the Pigeon for starter and the King Prawn salad as they are light but full of flavour. We both had the Fillet Steak served with champ potato for our maincourse, the steak was cooked to perfection. The maincourses were very generous portions, so we had no room for dessert. Including wine and tip the bill was €120. We found this to be good value for what we had. The reason for not giving it a full star rating, we had a drink in the bar before and after our meal and found the bar to be chilly.

Requested a table by the window when booking( one week in advance) and also rang on the day to request again and stressed that it was a special occasion. When we got there the hostess that brought us to our table was unsociable, and we were given a table beside the wine/coffee bar upstairs.I was not impressed that after asking twice for a table with a view to be given a table which was beside a very noisy area and had people passing the table constantly. We ordered the Penfolds Reisling and were told that it was not available, which is the exact same responce we got the last time we ordered the Penfolds Reisling. They either need to update there wine menu if they are not ordering it anymore, or increase the order. The starters were nice and everyone enjoyed theirs. The mains were a different story. We ordered two fillets medium to well, and when they arrived on the plate the colour of them was enough to put you off your meal. They were burnt. They were very tough to eat and not enjoyable at all. So dissapointed as I have eaten here before and the steaks were always great. Service was fine and desserts were quite nice, I wont be rushing back.

what a lovely setting for a resturant, but thats where it ends, i have eaten here on many occasions but the last 2 times have not lived up to other meals, one night i went in with 3 of the girls for the early bird, big mistake, only one of us could eat all the mains, the rest of us got the pork belly, which if cooked well is lovely, this was not the case, i was there again a couple of weeks ago, and the food was a little better but not much, it will be a while befor i will dine here again,

i keep returning to this restaurant because the food is really nice, i seem to be very lucky as i always manage to get a window table, on my return this time i had the wood pigeon [which was so tasty]and my partner had the tiger prawn salad to start, i had the scallops which came with a saffron risotto,it was so tasty. my partner had a fillet steak, and said it was really good. with all the sides we ordered there was no room for desserts, but when we asked for coffee we were told that they only had instant, because their machine was broken

I recently went to Cruzzo's for lunch with my partner for his birthday lunch and travelled a long distance to do so looking forward to a fabulous treat. While they did give me a table overlooking the marina which I requested at the time of booking, to which I was told they would do their best on the day, the meet and greeter girl at reception when you walk in had absolutely no personality, did not even welcome us or speak as she lead us to the table, off to a bad start I thought. The food was 2/5, I was expecting wonderful selection and variety but it was very average and have had better good pub lunches. While the main courses were better than the starters and mains priced simiarly to other restaurants I did think that the starters were far over priced for what you got and selection poor if you did't like sea food. Like other reviewers the coffee is very poor quality, tastes like something out of a bad service station, even though we did enjoy the view overlooking the marina outside in the smoking area which was very untidy and needing cleaning. Overall the views are great food is average and the starters are overpriced .

I was brought here for lunch recently and have sinced severed all connection with the person who suggested the place. Its a nice place, airy and picturesque but thats where it all ends. I wont comment on the food because it was awful - over seasoned, over cooked, glutinous and stewed sauces with expensive water and bad cappucino. Dont waste your money here.

My friend and I went to Cruzzos last Friday evening for the Early Bird Dinner. We gat there early so we had a drink in the very nice bar while we waited for our table. We got our table at 6.00pm. We found the staff to be very efficient and pleasant. Our Ceasar Salad starter was very plentiful and quite tasty. We both ordered the steak. The steaks arrived cooked exactly as ordered. When we booked we were told that they would need the table back for 8.00pm. We sat over our coffees and wine and it was 10.00pm before we left. Overall it was a very nice evening , very reasonable and relaxing with lovely views looking out at the Marina. I will definitely be back soon.

I visited here recently to celebrate a christening. Have to say we were really impressed with the setting of the place. Standing on the balcony, looking over the docked boats, gin & tonic in hand..... heaven! With the party size I didn't expect the food and service to be so good. The staff were attentive and the food came out promptly and hot. Would like to try something from the main menu to get a better picture. All in all, we really enjoyed the experience. Will be back again as soon as I can.

This restaurant should be a great place to go - it has a good location, very pleasant and professional floor staff and a very comfortable setting but the plastic-coated, paper table "cloths" (protecting the genuine linen underneath) and some issues with the food left us wondering about our experience. My starter (White and Green Asparagus with Poached Egg and a Mousseline Sauce) was better in conception than in delivery - egg was overdone and the asparagus had not been properly trimmed, leaving a chewy fibrous inch at the end of each spear. Not a big problem (I just left the inch behind) but it shouldn't happen in a good restaurant and the dish overall was bland. My wife's scallops were slightly better but also slightly overdone as was her main (Dover Sole). My main (lobster ravioli) was much better, with the lobster very nicely cooked. Overall, we were a bit underwhelmed and are unlikely to return to a restaurant we see as overpriced given the problems with execution.

Went to Cruzzos for the first time in April for my 50th birthday, with my husband. I was really impressed with the location when we got inside. The outdoor area to have a smoke or drink, pre dinner is lovely. You are situated on a decking with boats moored alongside. As the evening gets darker, it becomes very atmospheric (coming from a non-smoker!). The evening was so good we booked again to bring our special friends, another couple, who love the finer things in life! This time we asked for a window area to finish off my birthday celebrations & we were not disappointed. The food & the service was superb. Then to finish it all off, we went downstairs for the last few of the songs which Des Smyth more than did justice to. It capped off a wonderful evening & we have converted another 2 people to loving this venue. The manageress all the time checked that all was ok & to our liking & she has to be commended, as has her staff. We set out seeking a wonderful memorable evening & we were not disappointed. I would like a bit more selection of reasonably priced wines, but this is only a comment.

Deciding where yo go for a large communion party is always difficult as there are conflicting requirements. Thankfully Cruzzo's fitted the bill in more ways than one when we went there last month. Our party of 10 were completely delighted with the service, food and atmosphere. Traditionally communion days are always frought with the possibility of ragged service, production line dishes and roll on roll off atmosphere. Our visit to Cruzzo's was nothing like that. It really mode our day and was more than reasonable from a cost perspective. can't wait to return for a late night dinner.

It's been a year since I went to Cruzzo and it wasn't that great that time I went, but a few weeks ago I went and I really enjoyed it, it was fab!! It was very packed but the food and service were excellent. I had the caeser salad for the starter and the monkfish for the main. My boyfriend had the soup and the steak. After the dinner we went downstairs to the bar after the dinner and that was nice and relaxing too, can't wait to go again 10/10

Mr EllaSwings and myself visited here on a Monday evening recently. The restaurant was not busy and the waitress was very attentive. The location is fantastic. We both had the fillet steak which, though cooked to perfection, was overpriced. Our fish starters were delicious but again it was difficult to justify the price tag. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening. However, due to the price, this restaurant is perhaps best saved for a special occasion.

Was here last week for a meal with four guest, we had made the reservation for nine o'clock so we decided to arrive early for drinks at the bar. Lovely atmosphere with two guys playing jazz music made for nice pre dinner drinks, hostess arrived over promptly at nine to say our table was ready but she gave us the option of finishing our drinks before we took our table "nice touch" really made us feel welcome. I have eaten in Cruzzo before but two of my guest had not, they would be quite critical but seemed to like this restaurant. We each ordered different meals which allowed us to try a bit of everything, the carpaccio was just divine as was the duck spring roll no complaints from anyone, for the main course i had ordered the dry aged steak cooked medium rare and after the first bite i felt like a child who would not share a bag of sweets, it was just wonderful cooked to perfection my compliments to the chef. We all skipped desserts as the starters and mains had filled us up we finished off the meal with a bottle of house red and house white, a good end to a good night.

I visited here with 5 others and I have to say the food was terrible. The ground under the table they put us at was dirty and one of us slipped when getting off the chair. The service was very bad. The menu is not great and definately needs a revamp. The only good thing that night was the entertainment

I recently went there for Sunday Lunch. The setting is perfect and the staff were great. Unfortunately my vegetarian menu choices were not so good, the food seemed sloppy and greasy. On the other hand my boyfriend loved his meal so maybe it was just a bad day. Overall I thought it was a beautiful restaurant with superb views, I was just disappointed in my food!

Recently went here for my birthday, booked two months in advanced( requesting a good table). The table we got was awful, my seat was practically hitting the baby high chairs. The food was ok,I got seabass and my partner got tuna, both just ok,service was a bit slack. Would not be recommending this resturant to anyone.

All I can say is wow!!!! I went here for an anniversary dinner with my girlfriend and I must admit that the restaurant was even better than what I was expecting. We were seated upstairs, with a window view that looked out across the marina. The food was simple amazing... I ordered the steak, while my girlfriend ordered the chicken. I tasted both and they were possibly the nicest dishes that I have ever sampled. Service was what one would expect. Before I booked it, I had been told that it was expensive, however we paid E80 for the meal which was cheaper than other places we have visited. Although this was exclusive of wine, and I think that these were a bit pricey. The only negitive that I would have is that we went on a thursday, when it was quiet. This was in part why I loved this place, as it was such a nice place to go for a quiet dinner for two. However, Id reckon that at the weekend the noise level would rise considerably, and it might get a bit hectic.

We ate here recently and found a real special location, over looking the marina. When we arrived the staff greeted us warmly and asked if we wanted to have a drink in the bar downstairs or did we want to be brought straight up the table, hunger got the best of us, so we went to the table. I had the seafood risotto, which was tasted great and was perfect for someone so hungry, my partner had a carpaccio. We both decided to go for the dry aged sirloin which was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time

A group of seven of us ate here last Sunday. Starters were average. The poached pear and blue cheese starter was destinctly lacking in pear. Main courses were only average. Quantity of veg for 7 people very small though extra potatoes were supplied when asked for. Bill came to €273 with no alcohol and everyone did not have all three courses. Desserts grossly overpriced. My husband and I have been there on a number of occasions. It seems to be a bit of a hit and miss. We think we will be giving it a miss in the future.

On Sunday last - 3rd February, we visited Cruzzos. We we were seated at 2.25 for a 2.30. We decided to have mains and desserts. We ordered a bottle of wine and ordered mains. 40 minutes later we asked what was happening. We were brought some rolls - not as nice or as varied as previously. The place was not full by any means so we couldn't understand the delay. We were told that the beef (one medium and one well done) was taking "a while". The third order was fish (halibut I think). Anyway, all meals arrived and the beef was so unattractive and inedible that I requested to talk to someone in charge. I complained about the beef and vegetables (broccoli & sugar snaps) were frozen and only barely cooked. I don't mind aldente but this was ridiculous. The lady who took the complaint took the beef away (we decided to point out the problem after the first bite so that we didn't get the usual "Why didn't you tell us before you ate it" remark. The two alternatives were chosen (sea trout) presented with tempura vegetables (delicious). Desserts were very good but with an unimaginative mix of mainly "heavy puddings". When the bill arrived only the drinks were charged for. However, as we had driven from Bray in pouring rain it was a very disappointing visit. I also told the lady who took our complaint that I had a bad experience in their restaurant in December when I took my aunt for her birthday. With only 1 glass of wine on the bill and one tomato juice the lunch bill for 2 came to €88 for 2 mains and two desserts. I did not want to cause a scene over the bill as my aunt would have wanted to pay it. However when we got to the cloakroom I took a discreet look at the bill and noted that we had been charged for FOUR desserts and one portion of cheese. An overcharge of €28 !!! When the error was pointed out to the cashier there was no argument and my money was refunded. The food on the day was excellent - however it will be a long time before we take the long drive to Cruzzos again !

I find Cruzzos is a bit hit and miss. For every meal we have there that is excellent...the next time we're there it's not so great. The last time my husband and I were there we decided to order chunky chips with our steaks. Now, we knew the steaks came with mash but we wanted to mix it up a bit and take a walk on the chunky chip wildside. We were in fits of giggles all night after the server (with the most serious expression I've ever seen) warned us that the steaks came with mash and had to confirm that we wanted a second helping of carbs. The steaks and our two portions of potato were excellent! The previous visit I felt disappointed that our server was hanging out with his other server buddies and ignoring our table. It can be sooooo good. And sooooo bad. Cheesecake? Boring. Lamb? To die for! Chicken? Can make it at home. Steak? Heaven!

We were at a function in Cruzzo recently with a large group and it was excellent. The staff were attentive throughout the night and the service was quick and efficient. I was told by those who had steak that is was fantastic. The portions are very generous, almost too much so. There were children at the function and they were catered for and looked after extremely well. On the evening we were there the restaurant was full so the atmosphere was lively, which is always a bonus, and the setting of Cruzzo is wonderful.

I don’t mind paying for quality food, but this was not quality food. I first visited Cruzzos about 3 years ago. I loved everything about it the food, the staff the location. Just recently I came back. The staff were still great but the food was terrible. Starters, mains and dessert was horrible. The only two good things were one: the staff, the place was packed but I felt well looked after. Two: the location, out on the balcony is so nice.

We were there on Halloween night with a work collegue from Germany. As he was on business we decided to treat him to the fine cuisine and elegant atmosphere of Cruzzo's! Well we were terribly disappointed and very embarrassed. We were shown to our table and left for 10 minutes with no menus and no drink order, when we eventually had a waiter appointed to us, (the restaurant was dead, approx 30 people in total!!) we ordered wine. The wine was poured and we were not asked if we would like to taste it!! The starters were so bad, that the Monkfish rolled in Sesame seeds was deep fried monkfish which tasted like fish fingers! All of the main courses were wrong, my steak was given to me with the wrong side dish and this was repeated twice! The veal was like pork and was sent back, however our meals were left on the table which meant our colleague had to eat alone as we had finished. We also ordered another bottle of wine, which was opened and poured directly on top of the previous wine and in the same glasses!! A good restaurant should leave the wine to breathe and you should be offered new glasses and a taste also! I can quite honestly say that I will never be back and will not recommend to anyone, as they say 1 bad experience lives a lifetime! We did complain and the manager was ok, but there was no sign of service recovery or an apology just a load of excuses about the French chef and the kitchen being under pressure. Cruzzo you have done yourself no favours whatsoever.

Cruzzo is an excellent restaurant, never had a bad meal there and I've been going there since moving to Malahide in 2003. It is true that the prices are a bit on the expensive side, but yet you have to recognise the extra in your dining experience, the location and sea view. On the other had, going there on Sundays for lunch, although the limited menu, the food is still superb and very resonably priced. My only contradiction to Cruzzo's is the name, as it clearly says bar & restaurant even when they don't accomodate people just going there for quiet drinks... which I think is very silly!

Two of us were left waiting 40 mins while they got our table ready. We were then seated next to a large loud group who were very unpleasant. Our waitress for some reason took away our water glasses so we had to use our empty bar glasses to drink water from as it was impossible to get any of the waiting staffs attention. The risotto was poorly served and my friends steak was underdone when she asked for very well done. Brought us the dessert menu and the bill together so we paid and left immediately. The restaurant has a beautiful setting but poor service, poor food and poor value are what is expected here.

I had a family Sunday lunch here yesterday and we all really enjoyed it. The restaurant is bright and airy, with fantastic views of the marina. I had the chicken wings for starters and the haddock for main course, both really tasty and enjoyable dishes. The haddock came with chunky chips which were fab! Service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. I'm looking forward to returning.

Went for a birthday dinner here last week. Food very expensive for what you got. I had risotto, very disappointed, all I could taste was salt. Bad choice I think. Others were happier with their choices. Starters were lovely, as was bread. Setting is lovely. Restaurant is very spacious and open.

Had a celebratory lunch there on Sunday and it couldn’t be faulted. The age range of the party was from 8years old to 82 and all were happy. Had a window table (by request no problem). I like Vegetarian food though am not vegetarian. The food portions were generous, salmon absolutely perfect, Vegetarian choice was good not boring, worth ordering. The deserts, if that’s your weakness try the assiette plate, (portion wise it can be shared between two). Good choice of cheese for the cheese plate option. We are regulars here and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. Its great to find a restaurant that can cater happily to a mix of age groups, and doesn’t dumb down choices for children, with helpful staff and good coffee too. I'd happily recommend this one.

Pricey, but well worth it (glad I wasn't paying though!!). For someone who doesn't usually like fish, I was very impressed with my meal, and the service was faultless, particularly for a large table.

If you are willing to fork out a bit (a lot?) of cash, Cruzzo's is a grand place. You get a stunning location, and a nice atmosphere. The food itself is quite good, as is the service. Nothing else remarkable, other than the price!

The view from this restaurant is fantastic. I went here for my leaving party and had a great time. The atmosphere was great and loved the food. I had the steak and it was cooked exactly how I liked it. The service was very quick and efficient. For me, it was a joy to eat here and I would definitely go back again.

Four of us dined here for Sunday Lunch, one of the party did not have a starter. I had the spicy chicken wings, the girls had celery & apple soup and mozzarella cheese with oven dried tomatoes and a salad. The soup was flavoursome and filling. The chicken wings were O.K. I have tasted better wings. The men ordered a traditional Sunday Lunch, Roast Beef; the beef was served the way we ordered it, medium and well done respectively. The beef was tender. The ladies ordered lamb and Vegetables in puff pastry with a tomato and pernod sauce. Everything was tasty and perfectly cooked. As it was the lunch menu complimentary potatoes and vegetables were included in the main course price. We had a Chilean red house wine, which was fine. We all enjoyed our meal. We booked through Menupages, had no problem getting a window seat. I have noticed certain perks when booking through the Menupages website, in one case we received a complimentary drink; normally one would have to be a regular to get this perk.

I’ve eaten here many times, early birds, family parties, romantic dinners, casual evenings with friends. I used to find it ranked near the top of my fav's list but lately it's slipping. Not just the portion size, but the quality is going down hill rapidly. Service as always is top notch but it can't make up for poor food. Also the Matrie'D at the end of the night will order you a taxi, but won't order one for a specific time. Very frustrating when you've just bought another expensive cocktail and you have to choose cab or drink? Choose the drink then walk up main st and get a cab no problem, as they get a snot on and won't order you a second cab. Location, ambiance and service good. Food portions and taste not so good. Will be going back but I think it's this restaurants last chance to impress and make me change my mind. Watch this space.

Went to Cruzzo's with three friends recently, the restaurant and the views from it are beautiful but I'm afraid the food was not. At least not for two of us. I had a smoked mackeral starter, the tiny bits of mackeral I found amongst the salad were nice but really it was just a salad way too little fish. For my main I had scallops and prawn wontons which would have been nice if it had been hot it was not even room temperature. My friend had chicken for her main course which came out completely pale and very unappealing looking and unfortunately tasted the same, she didn't eat it but nobody seemed to notice this. Main courses came with nothing so you had to order side dishes making it even more expensive than it first looks. The boys had steaks which they liked but I won't be rushing back.

Always heard good reviews of Cruzzos so thought I’d try it for myself. Went away feeling let down. The quality of food should be far superior to what it is for those prices. Don’t think I’ll be giving them a second chance. Far better restaurants around Malahide for cheaper and tastier.

This used to be a regular of ours but is going downhill every time. Service and setting were excellent but food very disappointing. Tiny portions at huge prices. Side dishes were barely warm. The lovely homemade bread at the start of the meal has been replaced by everyday bread rolls that you would get in your local pub. Won't be returning to empty my pockets again.

There is a beautiful view from this restaurant but this is as good as it gets! The food is poor and the service is mediocre. Do yourself a favour and give this one a miss. There are plenty of restaurants in Malahide that are much better value and serve far superior food.

Mediocre at best… I ate here several months ago and was quite disappointed with the quality of the food served here. Yes, the restaurant is fantastic and set in a beautiful location but to my mind none of that is worth anything if the food is just ok. I certainly couldn’t say the food was bad; just ok which was quite surprising given the surroundings and the price. I would not go back; I am presuming people only dine there because of location and ambience, as it certainly could not be because of the food.

Beautiful place to eat, somewhat blown away with how extravagant it is. I suppose that is why its so expensive. It’s a beautiful building with a beautiful view, just on the docks. I was very pleased with the food, I ordered the steak medium rare, it came out perfect, rich with juices. Everyone was pleased with the food in my family, but not as pleased with the price. Might go back.

We visit this restaurant regularly. We love the location and views before it gets dark and the busy atmosphere later on a Saturday night. The band playing Swing music downstairs adds a lovely touch. I have tried other dishes here but would definitely recommend the filet steak - it is excellent. I would recommend lunch or the early bird to experience the location and lovely views or a Saturday night to listen to the band after a nice meal.

Ate here for the first time ever recently and I have to say the food was fab. I was dying to try it as Id heard so much about it and it was one of the nicest meals I have had in a long long time. The house red was gorgeous too. We were put beside a big group, which we were not too pushed on, as there was only two of us. Kids running around everywhere but they left by the time our main course came which was fine. I can’t fault the food but like I said they should think about where they position people when there is a big group. I would defo be going again for a treat

I love this restaurant!!!! It is fantastic!!! Great atmosphere, and the food is truly delicious! The portion sizes are more than generous for all courses, which is rare in Malahide. A group of us went for an early bird last night and it was excellent value - €18 for 2 courses. We stayed at the table for about 5 hours chatting and even though the restaurant was busy we were not moved on. The staff are very friendly and professional. The wine list is excellent and I particularly like the seafood dishes. Truly the perfect dining experience. You must go!

I love this place! Been here a few time, mostly early birds and I really enjoy the experience! We always get a good table and the service is good! The food is well presented, although with the early bird, one must order sides, which I was not impressed with! The wine list is good and there is a wine for everyone's taste!!

I ate here on Saturday night 30 June and although I can't really fault the food - it was nice I have tasted better at a fraction of the price. I do however have a few complaints: Firstly all tables were given bread when they were seated - we didn't get any. My cutlery was dirty and the service was quite slow although staff were efficient they were not overly friendly. The prices are very high for the quality of food you get - I was so excited about eating here because of it's name and reputation and I came away with very mixed reviews - won't be eating there again I expect better food for those prices and unfortunately you are paying for the area.

I ate her a few months ago and I thought it was dire. The steak was like rubber, the staff were slow and the prices were sky high. I sent my food back and it came back worse. If it hadn't of been my friend’s birthday I would have complained. Can't recommend it unless you want to impress your Granny!

I am from the area and Cruzzos used to be one of my favourites. However the only way this restaurant is good value is if you go for the early bird. Previous reviews have said that the views etc are worth the price - I'm sorry but the food really isn't that good for the prices charged. I was here only last night, and still find it so annoying when restaurants charge extra for side orders, particularly when the mains are already very expensive. A fillet steak was €30, without sides. Now that's expensive for the quality you receive. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing particularly wrong with the food, there's just nothing exceptional either. Service was very good last night, I have to say. And of course the setting is beautiful. But unless you're prepared to pay over the odds for fairly average food, go to the early bird which is far better value.

Have eaten here a few times over the years and always leave satisfied, the food is always great the service always good and inobtrusive and always in the back of my mind is an old favorite restaurant of mine nagging at me Brubecks they could have been sister restaurants, that would have been great Cruzzo on the northside and Brubecks on the south BLISS. Well done to everybody at Cruzzo.

Visited yesterday evening for the 'early bird' menu but found it to be different to menupages. (I hate when that happens, as I have usually already chosen what dish I want). We got a lovely table with a view and gorgeous rolls and REAL butter were delivered to the table. I chose the chicken wings for starter. FAB. My husband’s choice was not so great. Some fancy name for slice of pastry with slices of mozerella and tomato. We both chose the steak (which had a €5.00 supplement, a bit steep as it was an early bird and the steak was quite small). Expected to get potatoes or veg included on an early bird, but no, all these were extra. I had the chunky chips which were very nice (real potatoes) but at nearly €5.00 give or take really bumped your bill up. I enjoyed my meal but with just 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 bottle of wine, no coffee or dessert the bill came to almost €80.00. Feel it should have been better value given it was an early bird special.

Came here for a wedding and have never tasted anything like the food, it was spectacular. We had a five course meal in the afternoon and there were platters of food sent around at about 11pm which were yummy (duck spring rolls were the nicest I have ever had), the oysters were also very tasty. Will defo be back on an ordinary night to see if the standards are always this high. For weddings I would urge anyone getting married to consider Cruzzzo's very classy place

I think the best thing about this restaurant is the location. The setting is fab. The food and service is just average and the prices are definitely way too high for the food you get.

The setting of this restaurant is fantastic; it was a pity about most of the rest of the experience. The food was edible even if they forgot to put the bacon in the Caesar salad. The waiter constantly brushed off my chair as he served the next table, which made the experience more uncomfortable. The waiter took our order for green tea only to return 5 minutes later to tell me they didn't have green tea. We won't be in a hurry back there.

Was here one night with friends. Started with the oysters, followed by the seared salmon. Nicely presented, and service from the waiters was friendly; just what you expect from a restaurant. Main dining area upstairs was nicely lit. The restaurant looked to me to be split into two sections, one for intimate meals, the other for group settings. In short, Cruzzo's caters for all customers. Would recommend this place for anyone - couples or groups.

I was here on Saturday night with 5 others, it had been our 2nd time there and I must say this time round everything was perfect. Not 2 expensive at €360.00 for 6 including 2 bottles of wine as well as everyone having 3 courses. Beautiful view and live music in the bar afterwards.

The best thing about this restaurant is the location is second to none. I thought it was expensive for what you get and had the feeling it was like a factory firing out food on a good note the hostess was very good but I don’t think I would rush back.

Find it hard to believe that people can say this place is expensive I had a wonderful meal with my girlfriend last night, valentines night. The place was very busy yet we were totally looked after by staff. Food and wine was super and yes I am going back this weekend to ask my girlfriend to marry me.

Was brought to Cruzzo's on a work do and we were seated upstairs at the window overlooking the marina. Absolutely fabulous!!!! The decor of and view from the restaurant is beautiful. The food was amazing, so was the wine, and the staff were very friendly completely looked after us. Because the meal was all paid for I cannot say anything on price although I have heard it is expensive but I have to say, a definite for a special occasion!!!

This restaurant seems to have to completely different sets of staff for different days. One day the food is fantastic, portions are bang on and you never feel hungry or full just contented which blends well with its decor, comfort and views. So on occasions this place is second to none. And the service is quick pleasant and well presented. The next though the food seems to be cooked by a machine and out of a tin, there seems to be a lack of seasoning and care in what is being served. And the service would rather spend time talking to each other than watching your table to see if you need anything. So in truth this place is a lottery, it seems to be down to luck as to what type of evening you will have.

I’ve been to Cruzzo's before and the location, food, service are all good. Although it is slightly expensive for what you get as a lot of the mains do not come with sides, which you have to order extra. The early bird is good value, 18.95 for two courses and 23.50 for 3. Some dishes such as steak carry a supplement though they do a good steak. Place is spotless and the bar downstairs is nice and cosy!

The location of Cruzzo's is one of the best in Dublin. If you can get a table by the window and savour the view across the bay. We have been there a few times and the service can be mixed. Generally the food is very good but pricey.

I have to say the food here is delicious. I normally opt for one of their fish dishes and they are always fresh and tasty. It is a little pricey for what you get but I don't mind paying the extra for local produce and fresh ingredients. Ask for a table by the windows it makes you feel as if you're on a sun holiday by the sea.

I ate in Cruzzo’s restaurant recently and I must say I was very impressed, from the smiling hostess who took our coats & seated us on arrival to the charming waiter who called a cab for us when we left everything was top class. The food was very tasty and arrived at a wonderful pace, serving staff were very efficient yet we felt very much at ease & in no way rushed. Cruzzo’s has a lovely ambience & gazing out at the lights flickering on Malahide marina while we sipped our digest if was magical. I must say I’m really looking forward to my next visit to this excellent establishment.

Have been here on several occasions. Love the bar downstairs but leave the music out - we like to chat before our meal and this group just want to be heard. I agree it can be very hit and miss - my last visit was a big disappointment - vegetables forgotten and almost finished by the time they arrived. Overall I think it is overpriced - but is this because of its location?

The food was excellent and the bar downstairs was perfect for a drink beforehand and afterwards. Service was very prompt too. But I really thought the menu was overpriced. I didn't feel we got full value for our 70 euro each. I also really dislike that to get any potatoes or vegetables with the main course, you now have to get side orders, adding again to the cost. Because of this lack of value, I probably won't go back.

Recently dined in Cruzzo's and found the service to be excellent, but vegetarian options very poor. Why were there only two choices for the main course? The starter although was beautiful, as was the desert. And it was a bit pricey. The restaurant itself was gorgeous, and the views were fabulous.

We have been to Cruzzo's numerous times now and find it very hit and miss. Service can be great OR terrible. Same with the food! Not sure it quite deserves the accolades it receives.. In Malahide, the village of restaurants and bars (and hair salons) there is better to be had!

I bought a group of clients out to dinner here and they loved it. The location is scenic and there is ample parking. The food portions are generous (which is only to be expected as the food is highly priced). I would consider this to be a luxury meal out. I would recommend that small groups 4-6 and couple go here.

The most hit and miss restaurant in Dublin. I have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and what really differs is the level of service, which has varied from being treated very well by the waiters who are usually great to being told "you don't have a booking" even though I had a voicemail on my phone from the restaurant to confirm my booking. Overall food is good, but a little pricey

I thought it was overpriced. I didn't feel full after having a starter, main course & dessert. Admittedly I didn't have a side order with mains as I didn't realise that the mains really required a side order. I was very disappointed as the place had been recommended to me.

Cruzzos was a firm favourite of mine for a long time, however some recent visits have proved inconsistent. While the surroundings and view are top class, inconsistencies in food and service cannot be justified when the prices are taken into account. I have had amazing food and service followed a few weeks later by very average food and service. Nobody minds paying for a great product, but since they cannot deliver this consistently I'm afraid I've had to take my business elsewhere for the moment.

Have been in Cruzzo's during nite and at day and the contrast is amazing. At nite its a five star restaurant, super food, location, and service however during day at lunch total opposite, the menu and food served totally inferior and would only deserve 2 star, pity as location best in Dublin.

The main reason I venture back to Cruzzo's is not only for the quality of food but the environs of the restaurant. Cruzzos is located in Malahide Marina, and if you are lucky enough to get a window table, you will overlook yachts and still water. Looks fabulous lit up at night even on a winter’s day! Food at night is exceptional - especially for fish lovers. However, the quality of food is not the same at lunchtime - we went for Sunday lunch and were very disappointed. The complete evening a la carte menu however is in a different league. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the "wow" factor - ideal for a romantic dinner for two as well!
