King Sitric Fish Restaurant 4.5 star review: Really nice evening. The food was really tasty and well presented. The only disappointment was the the dessert menu...was quiet dated and I didnt actually like anything on the choices. This was such a pity considering the choices and quality of the food on the previous courses.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 5.0 star review: My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. It was a last minute booking. We were lucky to get the reservation as the restaurant was packed out. There is a lovely area to sit, when you walk in, with a fireplace and comfortable chairs while you wait for your table to be ready and to sip on a pre-dinner drink which you can then take to your table with you.
The food was absolutely delicious with good sized portions. Will definately be returning.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 3.0 star review: My first thought when I visited this restaurant is that it is very old fashioned so it depends what you are looking for. The service is very good. The food I wouldn't say excellant unless we really made poor choices I am a big fan of sea food restaurants and this wouldn't be up there in that regards. Having said that the food was nice but only nice even if a bit on the expensive side. Yes the fish was very fresh I found the main a little over cooked and to be honest the presentation a little out dated. They did have extra touches like a shot glass of what seemed like a smoothie however I found this one a little strange as I didn't think it fitted in some sort of tasty amuse bouche would have been better. But then you have to take into account it is not a modern restaurant just depends on personal taste. My expectations may have been a little high going here but I have had tastier and better value meals in Howth.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 4.0 star review: Tried this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night. They have 3 separate menus on offer but we chose from the a la carte which probably wasn't a great idea when the final bill came!
I had scallops to start followed by monkfish. Scallops were deliciously soft but the pudding should have been grilled not fried in my opinion as it was too soggy. Hubby had the dublin bay prawns to start which were expensive given the portion size. Follwed that with the fillet of turbot which again was a tiny portion for the price. Mains came with a dish of baby boiled potatoes and some steamed veg. Food was very good but very expensive for what we got. Probably better value to be had with their dinner menu or tasting menus

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 1.5 star review: A friend took me here for a treat. What a
disappointment. The restaurant was empty and cold. The food was the worst I have had in a restaurant for a very long time. We both had fish and it was poorly presented and tasted awful. For the price it was just about as bad as you can get.
If you are looking for good food STAY
AWAY as you will not get it here. We
will never visit again.

Mangiero - I don't know where you ate on Fri 4th Mar BUT it couldn't possibly have been in The King Sitric which is located on the EAST Pier in Howth. We were there that evening and I can tell you it was FULL, had a great BUZZ.and the food (as always) was EXCELLENT. Whenever we're in Dub we make a point of eating here. There are a number of fish restaurants in Howth and we have eaten in them all - NONE compare with The King Sitric when it comes to service and Food regardless of whether we've been there on a busy or quiet night. You MUST have been in a different. restaurant

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 4.5 star review: We made a reservation for dinner for two at 8pm and arrived on time. We were kept waiting in the downstairs lounge until 8.30pm. Although drinks were offered and menus were given, it was quite cold and therefore felt like a long time.
The restaurant was comfortable though and our meal was lovely. The scallop starter with venison sausage was delicious, the herring and potato salad was nice but quite cold and tasted a bit standard. We ordered Monkfish (great dish) and Pheasant (perfectly succulent and carved into easy to manage pieces) for our respective main courses. The Chocolate and hazelnut cake was very nice too, but quite a large portion. The peppermint tea at the end of our meal was of a very high quality and the only minor point was that we had ordered a glass of Midleton Very Rare and the waiter forgot to serve it.
Overall a pleasant evening and the restaurant is worth a repeat visit.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 5.0 star review: Staff friendly and welcoming.Ordered lobster salad for starter, and grilled fresh haddock as mains.Wife had plaice and we also ordered fries. All dishes were excellent ,and whoever is in kitchen obviously knows what they are doing.Even though hand cut fries are not on menu, they brought us a side dish, after waiter said no problem.Again they were excellent. We finished with a top notch chocolate tart.Considering quality, prices are reasonable, particularly good value with dinner menu.Wine list is extensive and reasonable.Only quibble was getting bill,as wanted to get back to babysitter, and had to ask three times. But this was minor and i recommend.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 5.0 star review: I have been coming here for a long time now and The King Sitric is one of my favourite restaurants. The service here is always impeccable with an added personal touch. The food is always of a consistently good standard and the Dublin Bay prawns are out of this world. There are various types of menu on offer a tasting menu, a set menu and and a la carte menu all of which offer a great choice of dishes to suit every palate. When in season a very good game menu is offered too. From a location point of view this restaurant is in a perfect spot adjacent to the pier where one can go for a nice walk either before or after dining. In addition the sea views available from the dining room are superb. If you are out in Howth or indeed are living there try the King Sitric you wont be disappointed. I am looking forward to my next visit here and perhaps I may try out the adjoining bed and breakfast that the Sitric also offer.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant 2.0 star review: I have wanted to visit here for a long time but never got around to it because it is the miles from where I live. Anyway finally went last Saturday. The place itself is nice, its situation near the pier is great. We were in group of 6, all but one being fish fans. It was a special night out so we were all prepared to splash out a little more than normal.
Starters had by us included Oysters, crab morny and other mixed starters. 3 of us had lobster, one monkfish and one Turbot and one steak. All were good but the side dishes of veg and potatoes were very poor, warm at best and reheat jobs.
We had 3 mid range bottles of wine and 2 waters, 2 shared deserts and a few after dinner drinks. Service was a bit too in "in your face" for my liking. To the bill they automatically added a 12.5% service charge which I think is disgraceful in these recessionary times (it should be at the diners discretion).
It certainly was not value for money at €250 per couple and based on that I would not be rushing back.
