Arrived at 230 to a neighbours funeral meal. A very friendly chef went through the whole menu with me. I chose a beef and guinness pie which I really enjoyed. I had a look at the evening menu which was very good indeed. I will return again.

Usually visit here when the carvery is on but they also do an evening menu as well. It gets quite busy for lunches. There is a very good selection for the carvery and the portions are usually quite good. Food wise I would consider it good hearty food, the gravy is good & they love there mushy peas! Not a bad spot for a bite.

Went here with my parents and sister on a Sunday afternoon for carvery. Similarly to other pub grub scenarios, they offer half plates which doesn't mean half price but still a generous portion. The service was quick without being abrupt and the cashier even offered to carry my full tray to the table for me. I would recommend this pub for Sunday lunches - delicious with a wide and varied menu.

Visited here on a Friday evening. Had a lovely meal. They offer a free beer, mineral or glass of wine with each main course bought I was with my husband and brother in law and they didnt want the beer/wine. I had 3 glasses of Pinot Grigio which were very nice. They were free because we bought 3 main courses. The 3 main courses were very nice. Would recomment this pub for grub.

We stopped in here on the June Bank Holiday Monday for something to eat. We each had a half portion from the carvery. The food was excellent as usual. The half portion was excellent value for a substantial plate of food. The pub was clean with good space to get a table and eat in comfort. I would definitley recommend the carvery here and look forward to stopping in there again.

I went here for sunday dinner a couple of times. The sunday carvery is quite nice. The meat is good, and the vegetables were tasty. A bit pricey, but worth it for a Sunday meal.

Have gone here quite a few times as its my local pub. Atmosphere is good on friday evening especially when the band comes on later in the evening. I have ate a few things from the menu and overall it isnt that great for the money your paying. I have recieved soup that was too cold had to send it back to be heated in the microwave. The brown bread is cheap bread bought in. The pasta can be overwelmed in the cream sauce. The chips are good though. My other half had the steak and didnt think it was great. Overall good bar not great for food should revamp the menu and bring in some proper homemade cooking not bought in grub!

Ate here one evening recently and wont be back. The food was nice service was ok but just too over priced especially for pub grub. 15.95 for scampi and chips which was nice but is too expensive given that alot of restaurants around are doing early bird two or 3 course for couple euro more. Also one of my kids decided she wanted pasta with no sauce...which they done but charged 5 Euro for it Robbery...wont be back!

Paid a visit after the botanic gardens on Sunday. I wasnt too hungry, my boyfriend had a carvery which he enjoyed. I asked did they do tostie sambo's and was just told "No" by the chef followed by nothing else and he just proceeded to serve the person behind me. I decided to get a a sausage and a few chips. I asked the chef for this and mentioned I wasnt hungry I just wanted something small and he threw 2 sausages on the plate and passed it on to the next chef. I asked him could I only have one sausage as I wasnt hungry, he threw me a look of pure attitude as in a "are you for real way" He begrudgingly removed the sausage, threw it back and passed it to the other chef who at this stage was staring at me too. I was highly embarrassed, paid for my meal and sat in the corner to hide! I enjoyed a amazing meal evening week day meal here recently and was so impressed. The carvey incident embarrassed me so much, I will never return and will go somewhere, where the place appreciates your business (even if it is only one sausage & a few chips)

Probably bias as my other half worked here as a lounge boy many moons ago! In the three years I've been visiting the Tolka regularly food has vastky improved, would highly recommend the spagetti and meatballs. First time, in a long time, I have totally cleaned the plate!

The Tolka House has undergone a very nice re-do and while the ambience, food and staff was always good here, it's even better now. Even on busy Sunday afternoons, the food fare is varied, substantial and really good, and the staff are still ever so helpful.

I popped in here on Saturday evening and I really enjoyed the food. I had the chicken with bacon and my partner had the Lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection and was presented very well. The lounge girl that served us was lovely. Would go back anyday!

Very popular for food. Good carvery lunch (excellent beef).Good varied menu served the rest of the day. A bit dark inside as most of the windows are frosted. Outside a new patio overlooks the Botanic Gardens and the Tolka River(this area will be nice when it's finished)
