I love traditional thai food (rather than a Chinese kitchen serving thai)Surprisingly, this favourite of mine was quiet on St Patricks Night. Friendly welcome as always and the starters were served promptly - prawn tempura lovely and my friend enjoyed the spare ribs. For mains I went for jumbo prawn with hot chillies and it was delicious. My friend had the massaman thai curry. Banana fritters (although not on the menu!!) are a favourite and they were light and lovely. Clean plates all round - all washed down with a lovely french red recommended by our very helpful waitress . The 4 course at a measly €20.50 - has to be the best value in Dublin. This restaurant ticked all my boxes for food, service atmosphere & value.

myself and my boyfriend came here few weeks ago-it was delicious! Before we went we rang up as I have a nut allergy so my boyfriend rang up to see if I would be catered for- I was! The lady serving us was very nice, friendly, she knew alot about dishes with no nuts etc.. Th restaurant itself was clean, atmoshpere perfect, nice background music, nice decor, lighting just right. I would recommned this to anyone!

I visited last evening. I enjoyed a few Singa Beers with the Early Bird. My choice was teh Shredded crispy Duck with pancakes. This was just delicious with the pancakes warm and moist. I followed with Ice Cream. Coffee and a complimentary brandy. Living in Dublin 6W I only get to visit every couple of weeks. Last evening's trip was well worth the time to cross the city since the meal was as usual tasty and warm and filling. The caring attentions of the owner meant that I and the other guests were treated to true Thai hospitality. Best wishes for the future. KLT

I was here last Saturday night for the first time and will defintely be returning. Its the best Thai restaurant I have been to in a long time...proper authentic Thai and generous portions. Lovely friendly staff too. The restaurant was almost empty though which I find hard to comprehend as the food is so good. The Combo for 2 for starter was delicious as was our main courses....chicken with chilli and basil leaves and a green curry. Lobely fragrant jasmine rice too. Was also impressed with the coconut ice-cream which came in the shell of a coconut!!

This is, hands down, my favourite Thai restaurant in the country! Having lived in the far east for a few years, I am quite fussy when it comes to a good asian feast, and this place ticks all the boxes for me. The grilled seabass and tom yam kung were exquisite in equal meaures. Having requested a special Thai dish which was not on the menu, the staff were more than happy to prepare me an Isaan version of laarb moo, which was spicy and tangy, just the way it should be! It was the closest thing to real traditional Thai food i have eaten here, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is entertaining a Thai guest, as many of my Thai friends in Ireland would agree, most of the Thai restaurants lack a certain element of authenticity, Praya Thai gets 5 stars from me based on the high quality of their food, coupled with its quaint atmosphere, friendly service and excellent value for money.

This place is great, we managed to get a late reservation on New Year’s Eve. The staff were really pleasant and friendly the décor is authentic and the food is great. For starters we had the chicken satay, the chicken was really tender and juicy and the portions were huge. For my main course I had chilli prawn with basil which is one of my favorite Thai dishes and it was delicious. I’m looking forward to returning to Phraya already.

Have been here several times for the early bird menu. The service is always very attentive and the food is consistently good. The flavours are all fresh and clean and there is no MSG used in any of the dishes. It has been a little quiet the last couple of visits but deserves to be much busier. For 20 euro you get food of a far higher standard than most takeaways, in a pleasant room with excellent service. Give it a try.

unbelievably good value early bird here, and they even serve it on a saturday. Food was very fresh and well cooked. Star of the show was the chicken in chilli and thai herbs, absolutely to die for. I have a feeling this place is going to keep getting busier, a real gem.

I love Thai food, and I have ate in many of the different Thai restaurants in Dublin, and I have to say, i think this place is a lttle gem. I had a mixed starter which was excellent and the crispy duck with tamrind sauce which was exquisite. To top it off the bill was very reasonable. I will be back.

I second Garbhan's review. Went here after much talk about the new restaurant in town but was sorely disappointed. I've had better take outs! The food was very substandard and the restaurant was empty along with being extremely poorly lit. It was a Saturday evening too. I hope they improve their food otherwise they won't last too long.

This has been my third Thai Restaurant in as many weeks. A couple of friends live in the area and hadn't eaten here yet. We were all very happy with the menu and the food was super, smaller then most of the biger place around but I liked it a lot. I'm not in the area that often but If I am i'll be back. Had the Sum Tam for starter and loved it .

Went for dinner with my boyfriend recently to Phraya. I'm a lover of Thai food and have eaten in all of the best Thai restaurants in Dublin and I didn't think this was good at all. I wouldn't rate it at all. I would always expect Thai food to be fresh but this wasn't and wasn't flavoursome. We had the early bird menu which was good value but very "fast food" like. Won't be going back.

Sometimes ethnic restaurants can have a sameness to them. However Phraya Thai is different. I have rarely ate food that has been as well prepared as here. We went here after a day spent in Croke Park. To begin with, I had some of the nicest Chicken Satay for a starter that I can ever remember eating. The flavours were delicious and there was a generous portion size. I followed up with Choo Chee Gung Deep-fried Jumbo Prawn which again was fantastic. My wife had the same starter but with the Yum nua. Again she thoroughly loved the food. The staff were attentive and courteous and we are looking forward to a return. Top marks!

Eat here again last night and had a super meal. This is the thrid time I've eaten here and the food have been very good each time. Last night I had the seabass and found it great, I would usually have the green curry but decided to change. was very happy with the fact that there is a mid week discount of 30% on meals :)that i didnt know about before going so a nice little suprise at bill time. Will be back again for sure.

Fantastic value on the early bird menu. Two of us went in just before Easter and had a really great meal. We were both impressed with the value for money. We had a selection of starters which are obviously freshly prepared, very savoury and a great taste. I had a traditional type dish, chicken with chillies and Thai herbs. Main course was fab. Very authentic taste. I have been to Thailand lots of times and this was the real deal. Great service too. It was also nice to be able to order genuine Thai beer (Singa). Kind of added to the occasion. I would highly recommend it to anyone and we will definitely be back! (the sooner the better)

The starters are amazing! Especially the chicken satay and spring rolls. I never really know what to get for main course. I got a prawn stir fry once and the Laab Gai another time from the specials part of the menu. The Laab Gai wasn't good at all, I think it was supposed to be served with lettuce but they asked me if I wanted it with rice and I got rice and it turned out to be a dry salad type dish... The service is good although every time I went we were among 2 other tables in the room.

Had a Valentine's Sunday lunch here and it was gorgeous!!! The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive and made sure we had a wonderful meal. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area but if I did, I would be a regular here.

Ate here tonight with a friend. Was so disappointed! The review I saw here on menupages was so good. Only one table was occupied besides ours and they were friends of the staff. (They joined them in between serving us). There was no atmosphere. We were brought to a table right beside the kitchen entrance. The food was average. To be honest, I've had better take-away Thai food. We ordered the assorted appetisers. Most of these were unidentifiable. My friend ordered crispy duck and I ordered fillet beef in red wine sauce. The duck was overcooked and dry and the beef was not fillet. With one bottle of house wine our bill came to €86 euros (not including service). The waitress was pleasant so we did leave a tip but we both agreed that we will not be returning.

Ate here on Friday night, and had a wonderful meal. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we were not rushed out of the restaurant. They have a great selection on the menu and a good wine list also. I can recommend this restaurant for a relaxing night out, Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely decor.
